I say the party bard, but he was a multi-classed bard/rogue, and really leaned towards rogue...
It seems like the majority of the story-able moments from that campaign started with either "So (bard) failed his con check against the alcohol" or "I wait until everyone's distracted, then cast Fox Shape and walk away" (usually followed by the bard saying "I pass my perception check and follow him" followed by exasperated groaning 2 minutes later). Except that one time the druid was like "No. Y'know what? I use Survival to track him."
I think I might start sharing some more of these stories. I've got enough for 1 a day for a week, at least, though some're pretty short.

I'd really like that, Crow. They sound hysterical.

A big part of it was our DM... He was so great at rolling with it when things went off the rails. I think I finally reached a point where I was actively trying to throw him off-balance (in my defense I also made an effort of helping him advance the plot when things got stuck). I only pulled it off once, and that time was kind of an accident? Like it was totally in-character but not something he would've expected any of the players to actually do. Fortunately for him it was right at the end of session and he had time to revise things. That one's definitely going to be the last story.
...Wonder what he's up to nowadays. Heard he got a new job about a year back. We sorta... fell out of contact. 'cause he was that girl - that girl's surrogate older bro. And he was, like, 80% responsible for getting us together in the first place. We haven't spoken since the breakup... I've tried a few times, opened a text message or chat program or something, pulled him up, tried to say something, then just... blanked. And it's been so long at this point I don't have the slightest idea what I'd say.

So, guys. I need an answer from everyone. Do we want to run the campaign at the same time as STARS, and if so, how soon do we all want to start? I kinda need to know, because if we're going to start soon, then I need to hurry up and finish like four really big maps. And that's probably gonna require me staying up for a whole night.

I'm ready to start whenever, and patient enough to wait until whenever.

I'm fine with waiting until whatever time is necessary

I'm ready to start whenever, and patient enough to wait until whenever. Oh, and about running at the same time as STARS. I think I already said I'm fine with it. In fact I'd suggest it since I expect STARS to run about until the end of summer or even mid-fall, assuming about 2 sessions per planet.

Okay. I'll wait to see what the others say, but I think the only one who might be a bit hesitant is GX, if only because she's usually busy working.
What day and time would work for everyone? I'm thinking either Saturday or Thursday.

Either's fine for me, no preference.

Saturday would probably work better for me. But I can try Thursday if we have to.

Either day works for me. As for preference about when it starts, I would say anytime after July 2nd, since I won't be working anymore and I'll be able to make it to sessions more consistently.

Saturday sounds like it works for most people, so let's go with that for now.
As for when it starts... Hmm. The next Saturday after July 2nd is my birthday. I can't guarantee I'll be home that night. GX, do you work on Thursdays usually? Could we perhaps have the first session or two on a Thursday night, and then switch over to Saturday later?
Also, as for time, I'm thinking around usual STARS time, so 9-9:30 EST.

Saturday works best for me, but I won't be able to attend the last two Saturdays of July. If it's on Thursday, I would only miss the last one in July though.

I think I'm going to have to manually create Axis and Horizon using CC3... On god, that would take months. You know what? I'm just going to have to take a page from Crow's book. I'm going to make the maps the best I can with what I have, and you guys are gonna have to rely on my excellent storytelling skills and your own creative imagination. Kay? K.

Or just use a map of New York City and London respectively.

You know what? I'm just going to have to take a page from Crow's book. In map design? It's a children's coloring book. I could throw stuff together in RPG editor... It'd have a kind of cartoony feel instead of a more "playing with grid doodles on cardboard in the basement and using erasers and pieces of candy as monster tokens" feel. Maybe I'll actually start to do that for next season... Do it for a session, see how it goes...

Or do what I sometimes do for cities, look up free pictures of roads, grass, and dirt in Roll20's art search and use those to build a background, and then look up houses and just plop them down. As for ships/space stations, again, see if you can find any old maps used by other people, or cough up a few bucks to get the one-size-fits-all Starship/Space station premium set.

I think I'm going to find a picture of cardboard and use that as the background for the next session.
