Could I make a custom weapon penalty? I have the Activation power restriction on a weapon, but the penalty is really awkward and unweildy for its cost, so for a -1 to the total weapon cost, could I make it so that it can only be used once per round, regardless of how many actions I have remaining? Crow plz

OK, clarification. I thought only your most expensive weapon was full price, the others were reduced. Nope. If a weapon has an alternate fire mode, stuff tied to that mode's half-price, everything else is full. Got the weapon mods and stuff ready to go, but putting them on the sheet'll have to wait until tomorrow.

The Activation Attribute is ridiculously costly for the points it gives you (only gives one point per rank), especially for active attributes like weapons. Or maybe instead of a once per turn penalty, the weapon takes one action to fire but one action to "reload" like something with the ammo restriction.

Without knowing what exactly this thing is, I'd say give it Ammo (-3) and Unique: Autoloader (+2). If it's more or less what I think it more or less is.

Ammo says it's for weapons with limited or costly ammo though, which is why I'm not using it.
The best way to describe it would be like a melee ballista. You have to cock it back before unloading it. So, an action to pull the piston backwards, and then a second action to actually launch the piston and deliver the crushing attack.

Character creation guide's finally done and uploaded. Rules coming... eventually. I'll start it tonight, but expect it to be like Thursday.

...Why isn't that just Activation (-2) again?

Because Activation -2 is ridiculous in terms of mechanics and gives such a piddling amount of points for its restrictions as well as not accounting for multiple actions very well.
I'm not even trying to get points, but just an RP mechanic that isn't ridiculous mechanically like Activation.

But... Activation -2 requires 1 round of prep, then 1 round of actually using the ability. And can be the same round if you have Extra Action. Is that not what you described with your little giant pile driver setup? Though it does start to get crazy after like -4.

Quick question, because I'm still confused how some of this works. Say I spend 200 points on stats, and have 100 leftover for my human form. That means I only have 100 base points to spend in my dragon form right? Then I get more points for my Alternate Form ranks, and for my defects. And defects only give more points in dragon form, not human form.
How often will we level up, and how often will we get to increase our stats? How many stats per level up? I'm guessing 1?

It does work with Extra Action? I know the first rank doesn't allow you to move in the same round as the action and stuff.

The way I read it, you can use extra actions, but you're also limited to using them to prepping and firing.

Okay. I absolutely hate the movement restriction and the defense roll restriction since it sorta messes with the whole idea of rounds (if you're first in the round, it's kinda irrelevant) and gives an improportionately low amount of points for the penalty it imbues into an attribute, especially one that's going to be used a lot.

How many ExActs you got, again? 3?

I have 3 ranks of Extra Action, so 4 total actions.

Levelling up is just a gradual increase in extra points you can spend, which you can in turn save up to increase a stat.

You will level up, but I haven't decided how much/often yet. Probably won't until after the first session. First session's ready to go, by the way. I already spoke to our vet player, but I need to tell everyone else where they'll be starting in more detail... Later. Also got outlines for the events on whichever of the 3 planets you head to next.
