Apparently my appointment to get my wisdom teeth pulled is tomorrow, not Saturday, so I might be too stoned from the anesthetic to attend tomorrow, which I hope isn't the case.

If you want to do damage to things that isn't from your character's innate abilities then probably.

Also, weapon levels are used for all kinds of damaging abilities including fireballs, laser vision, or acid spit.
You use an item for something that can be lost or destroyed, like a gun. (Standard laser pistol is an item costing 5 points (after halving) with Weapon Level 4 and Range 2.

I just want to know what I should spend my points on.
Also, current plan of action written here so all can see: Go to uninhabited forest planet, make a base of operations, and lay low for a bit while Blade Kitty continues investigating what happened to the previous crew and we can decide what to do next in peace without looking over our shoulders. At least for a day or two.
Figure out how to make money. Current ideas on the table: 1) Go scout out the giant space mall, look for some rich old guy for Rena to rob blind.
2) Go to the Frontier planet and look for a sponsor to become Bounty Hunters.
Our current longterm goal is to seek sanctuary in the Old Earth Empires.

Finally decided to spend my measly 5 points on upgrading Rena's skills. Gave her two ranks in Street Sense and another rank in Electronic Security to improve her hacking even more, so now she's a slightly better skill monkey. My next points are going to another level in Piloting, and then I'm pouring everything into Weapon, Tough, Ranged Defense, and Melee Attack so she's even better at punching through walls and has more survivability to boot. Then I'm most likely going to focus on upgrading her Superstrength and psychic abilities. Put some more points into skills as needed. Hey Crow, I don't suppose it would be possible to find something like Steel Knuckles, that's easy to conceal and boosts Rena's damage output even further, but still counts as "unarmed" when attacking? I'm trying to have Rena become more of a "Monk" character than a straight up brawler. It would be awesome if she could find some old wizened Grandmaster dude who would be willing to train her and teach her patience and wisdom. To complete her badass "Order of Secrets" persona, I also want her to eventually find a Cloak of Invisibility. |

Crow, is it possible for Bill to tinker with his blaster hand cannon and give it penetrating? This will be what ill spend part of my points on, and modifying it would be the in character reason of why it now has penetrating.

The final Old-Earth Empire: Atratus. It is located on the far side of Cervin, sharing only a small around of its border with Asinate and Probos. While it is only a quarter the size of Cervin, Probos, or Asinate, but a powerful economy and their top-of-the-line military hardware keeps it on a level playing field. It have an elected monarchy, with terms lasting 10 years. The monarchs are generally well-liked. Atratus is strongly isolationist towards humans, keeping even trade with other empires to a minimum, but a bit more trusting of alien races - or, at least, more interested in acquiring their technology.
