Hope for votes bump. You dodged a bullet thanks to the RNG the mc could have been injured in that choice. That town does a ceremony before preserving fish, that ceremony drives off spirits. The RNG determined what phase of the preservation process you would arrive for.

You and Iris walk away from the smoke house empty handed. As you walk away though you pass in front of a small building with no windows. Two men are coming out of the building with a large wooden box as you pass by. Judging by the men's faces the box is very heavy, the younger looking of the two men in particular seems to be struggling to keep it lifted. Just as you suggest to Iris that it might be a good idea to help out, a loud thud followed by a louder scream cuts your talk with Iris short, as she rushes to the seen. Iris starts, "What happened here?" You'd face palm at that remark, if you had either a face or a palm that is. The older of the two men responds to Iris, "Oy, my little bro just dropped this tool chest we were carrying down to the boat house." The younger brother shouts, "Hey, bro don't you think my crushed foot is a little more important than this stupid box. The box isn't even scratched any way." Iris peeps up, "May I take a look at your foot?" Not waiting for a response, she stoops down lifts up the foot and removes the leather boot, as the younger brother winces. Iris then muses, "Three fractured bones, significant bruising, no torn ligaments or nerves. This shouldn't be to hard to fix." With that she extends her hand and that familiar pink glow envelopes the younger brothers foot. As the light fades Iris cues, "There, that should do it. How does it feel?" The younger brother stares dumbfounded, "You-u-u, fixed my foot. Just like that. Thank you." The elder brother butts in, "Don't be getting to happy there bro. Lets see how much little miss mage intends to charge us for that little magic show." Iris looks a little hurt but smiles, "Oh don't worry, I don't intend to charge you for this. I just thought I should help out." You think to your self, sometimes that girl is just to sweet for her own good...

...The two brothers stare at Iris for a moment, then each other, until the younger of the two addresses Iris, "You truly don't intend to charge us? That was renewal magic applied directly to my injury. Most mages would charge a few silver for that kind of service." Iris responds, "Really, its no trouble. Frankly it was good practice, this was my first time mending actual bone." The elder brother interjects, "Well whatever, we still need to get these tools to old man Hob before he gets himself worked up." The younger retorts, "We'd be done already if you had listened to me and taken the tools in two trips." To which the elder brother argues, "Hey! Don't blame me this is your fault for being such a wimp." Iris then chimes in, "I'll help you guys out, so please stop fighting." With that she holds up her hands enveloping the area in a pink light. She then states, "There, that was some strength and speed boosting magic, so lets move this box before it wears off!" And with a start the brothers pick up the box and hot foot it to the building by the docks with you and Iris right behind them. The two brothers head inside with the box and a couple minutes later come back out. The younger brother pipes up, "Wow, what a rush. We really have to thank you for your help miss." To which Iris responds, "Like I said before its really not necessary, I was happy to help out." The older brother gruffs, "Here take this any way, can't stand owing something to someone I just met." He hands Iris a ornate gold bracelet. Iris chirps, "Thats a mid-level magic capacitor, I can't accept something so valuable." The younger brother interjects, "We insist, besides neither of us are mages so it wouldn't do us any good anyway." Iris stammers, "A-are you sure?" The elder brother responds, "Ya, and if you need any help while you are in town don't be afraid to ask for us, the Larmy brothers." Iris curtly responds, "Thank you." With that the brothers take there leave.

Info bump: Magic capacitors: devises made to store magic energy when abundant and release it when it is scarce. There are three main types of capacitors disposable, wearable, and grafted. Disposable capacitors are typically made of rani fibers and are easily destroyed, but renewable to make, they are the most common. Wearable capacitors are typically made in the form of jewelry, the amount of power they can hold varies based on there size, material, and arrangement, they are harder to break than disposables but are also harder to make and thus rarer. Grafted capacitors are the least consistent in form and matierial of all capacitors but they share a common trait they are all surgically grafted to living hosts, few dare go down that path thus these are the rarest capacitors. Note: the capacitor Iris received is a wearable capacitor with a 25mp capacity, and it is not yet equipped.

After the Larmy brothers leave you and Iris discuss where you would like to go, in order to spend the remaining hour before diner. She suggested that the two of you walk about the dock, but as it was getting late and most of the fishermen were already gone you thought that the docks were a poor choice. You suggest heading to the stall across from the inn, and Iris eventually agrees when she notices who is running the stall. As it turns out Ann the girl you met when you first came to town is manning the merchant stall in this town, and as you walk up you see her finishing up with a customer. The customer in question is young woman with dark purple hair, and wearing a black robe with strange symbols sown into it. As you approach Iris shouts, "Hi! Its me Iris from earlier." Ann looks over with a bit of a start and responds, "Oh miss Iris did you reserve a room with miss Bennita?" To which Iris cheerily responds, "Yes. I did. Miss Bennita was very nice about it. Oh by the way I fixed up her back for her, it seems that really made her day." With that the black robed woman pipes up, "So you're a healer are you? I'm fairly skilled mage my self. So how much did you charge the old bird for righten her spine?" Iris wistfully responds, "Why would I charge her anything for the small bit of magic I used on her back, she was already letting me stay the night free of charge as it was. Healing her was the least I could do." The black robed woman retorts incredulously, "What!? Even low grade healing magic is worth a silver or two and you gave it away for a three copper room. Are you nuts or just stupid?" Iris responds, "Why are you being so rude, and making such a big deal over such a little bit of magic. A spell that small hardly even fazes me anyway." The robed woman retorts visibly annoyed, "Big talk. Iris was it? Even I the great Corva the south witch, can't shrug off spells like they're nothing. So how could some little flowery waif, that I've never heard of, like you pull off spells so nonchalantly?" Iris responds with a hint of boastfulness, "The arts of renewal magic come naturally to me. If you like I can give you a demonstration." 'Corva' retorts, "Is that a challenge I hear pinky?" Ann quickly interjects, "W-woh! Ladies please calm down. I'm not sure my stall can handle a mage fight."

Tie breaker bump. Info: Mage fights are a type of unofficially sanctioned duel held between mages to prove ability or settle disputes. There are several accepted styles each with their own set of rules. Firstly is combat style in which two mages battle directly using only magic, the battle is lost if a combatant is killed, rendered unconscious, exhausted of all magic, or caught using a weapon or outside aid. The second style is the one shot, in which each mage casts the strongest spell in their arsenal, which ever spell has the greatest effect (as judged by a third party.) wins the duel. The final style is the talisman making contest, who ever can draw the most complex ( and therefor most powerful) glyph on a rani fiber slip wins the contest. All mage fights require at least one witness to be present in order for the fight to be official. Mage fights are one of the quickest ways for young mages to make a name for them selves, as the results of official fights are recorded and made public knowledge at mage guilds.

You decide to urge Iris to shift the contest to something less destructive, as much for the safety of the non-combatant Iris as for the safety of the surrounding village. Taking your advice Iris challenges Corva, "I don't want to risk blowing the town to pieces, so why don't we settle this with a drinking contest over at the inn? That is if you think you can take little old me." To that Corva huffs, "What I thought little miss show off doesn't have the guts for a proper test of power. No wonder you have no renown within the guild. If you're not going to fight then I'm off. See ya miss shop keep." With that Corva departs and heads toward the inn. Ann speaks up, "Wow! That got tense. Thanks for not having a fight right in front of my store. Now what can I help you with miss?"
