"Now's your chance!" Rita advises.
Gregory dives at Brown Jenkins. Man in Black casts Gigajama. Brown Jenkins targets Gregory with a spell, but is silenced, unable to find the words to cast it. His expression becomes one of unbridled rage. One of his witches casts Amrita, removing his affliction. Gregory and Man in Black attack the witches surrounding him, leaving them injured while they escape almost untouched.
George's team is up next. He and Kijinuma attack the witches, then Lailah finishes them both with one ice spell. They fall the the ground and shatter. Brown Jenkins, now all alone, attacks furiously, unleashing waves of dark curse magic at George's team, leaving them badly injured.
You're last. You attack with fire magic, and Jenkins recoils from the blow. Thor smashes into him, and Jenkins desperately drains life from him. King Frost attacks with an ice spell, and you follow up with more flames. Jenkins falls to the ground, reverting to his rat form. He lies still, unmoving.
"You did it!" Rita cheers.
"We... won?" Kumiko asks groggily as George tries to help her up - it's not so easy in his bovine form.
You land near Jenkin's body, hopping over cautiously to investigate. Suddenly the "dead" rat lunges at you. You feel his jaw wrap around your throat even as you leap back, flapping your wings wildly. Before he can bite down, a burst of flame envelops the both of you. You're injured. He's incinerated.
Fishy wipes her hands calmly and recalls her demons.
"It's safe," Vorvadoss assures you. "The rest of those witches won't be able to follow you with their leader dead."
"We'll send you home now," Bast says. "Well... In a bit. Give us some time to rest. Pulling you over here, keeping those demons out, healing... We're a bit tired."
"Really?" Gregory asks, annoyed.
"Oh, just have some fun," Bast demands. "How many people would love to change into their favorite animal? I mean... just chat with the others or something! Jeez."
"...Is she always like this?" Gregory asks Kumiko.
"Kind of?" she answers.
"Glad I got Vorvadoss as an advisor, then..." Gregory mutters. Bast shoots him an annoyed look.
Fishy quietly strolls off on her own, casually tracing a sigil in the air. You get the feeling she's not in the mood to chat.
Choose 3.

"Who are you?" you ask the fish-lady's back. She stops. "...Waite," she says in a quiet, husky voice. You realize this is the first time you've heard her voice. You wait patiently for her to continue. After a few moments of silence, she glances over her shoulder and clarifies. "You can call me Waite." "Why did you help us?" She looks forward again and shrugs. "Because you're still too weak." She waves her hand, and a portal opens. You can see Arkham's familiar streets shimmering through the tear. "How do you do that?" Rita asks. "...Can you teach me?" Waite ignores her. "Thanks!" you call out as she steps through. She glances over her shoulder. You think you catch a glimmer of a disturbingly unnatural smile as the portal snaps shut. "Rude," Kumiko mutters. "She did save us... But what a jerk...!" "She's strong, though. Whoever she is. Waite, huh...?" Gregory asks. He adds quietly. "Why do I think I know that name...?" "Well, don't look a gift horse in th' mouth," George says cheerfully. "I'm jus' glad them witches and th' rat are gone." "I don't like her," Vorvadoss says bluntly. Bast growls quietly, staring at where she disappeared from. "Fish... She smelled like fish..." "So, what're we gonna do while we wait fer them to re-charge?" George asks. "I'd like to train," Gregory says. "If it weren't for this stupid snake body." "That's a good idea," Kumiko says. She looks down at her relatively humanoid body. "Hm. I guess I should..." She walks a bit along the alien landscape. "Hey, Greg...ory. Think you could give me some pointers?" "Nothing better to do," he says flatly, slithering after her. "I'm going to go look around a bit, see if I can learn anything about this place. ...We're on an alien planet..." The gravity of the situation just now seems to be hitting Rita. "Alien... planet... Never before visited by humans...!" "People come here all the time," Bast says. "Magic users in training, people with our blessing, wanderers lost in time and space..." Vorvadoss rattles off. Rita gawks at them. "And I never even knew..." She flies off into the distance, sulking. "Hang on, don't wander off alone!" George calls off, clopping after her. Well, with nothing better to do, you decide to start looking into fusions. You check your connection to the Demon Auction - no signal. Not really surprising, you realize. You check your funds and estimate you can afford four demons. You take that into account as you start planning your fusions... List of fusion options

While you wait flip through the options, you call out some of your demons to chat. You start with the Lilim sisters.
"What's the matter, Kira?" Lilim Black asks. "Feeling lonely?"
"We can take care of that..." Lilim White giggles ominously.
You tell them you definitely don't need their brand of "help."
"Aw, boo. We were starving to death!" Lilim White protests.
Lilim Black licks her lips. "I promise we can be much more-"
You return them to the phone before she can finish that thought. Next come Lailah and Thor.
"God take those harlots..." Lailah fumes. "Carting those vulgar she-demons around! Just sharing the same summoner with them makes me feel ill."
"I care not who we fight alongside, so long as we've mighty foes to fight!" Thor proclaims.
"As the angel of the night, it is my sacred duty to oppose the acts of those soul-sucking-"
"Sacred duty? Hm. I see. How noble," Thor says. "I respect your commitment, 'angel of the night.'"
Next to pop out are Gagyson and Kumbhanda.
"Eh? There's nothing for me to smash!" Gagyson complains. "What're you doing?"
"Don't tell me you called us out just to play with you?" Kumbhanda complains. "Ha! What a laugh."
"You aren't really so bored to think we'd make good conversational partners, are you?" Gagyson laughs.
"I mean, just look at that ugly mug!" Kumbhanda points to Gagyson. "That look like a friendly guy to you?"
Enough of them. Kijinuma and Grey...
Grey clicks at you, cocking his head. You feel something tugging at the back of your mind. How does Rita understand this creature?
Kijinuma shakes his leaves. "Are we done fightin' for the day?" he asks. You see why he and George get along so well... "I could use a good rest, and I need t' clean up."
Last comes King Frost. You feel a chill fill the air.
"Hey-ho!" he announces cheerfully. "Kira! What's go-ho-ing on?"
You tell him you're getting ready to do some fusions, just chatting with everyone.
"Ho? You me-heen it's about to get even louder in hee-here? Keep fusing dee-hee-mons into me and I'll be stuck as a Legion for sure, ho!"

I'm glad he's gone!
Oh, good, you guys got a revive spell now. The game just changed completely.

"You fusin' me with this squirt? Well, whatever," Kumbhanda complains. "I'm not a fan of this idea, either..." Kijimunaa says.
The two of them disappear into your phone, then a third demon bursts out - a thin, eerie soldier with a spear and large hat. "You're my new master? Well, this could be interesting. I'm Ikusa, the Touki."
You vanish him, pulling out Lailah and Gagyson.
"This isn't farewell. Just call my name and I'll be there..." Lailah says. "Hell yeah! Time to get even more awesome!" Gagyson cheers.
The two fuse, and a foppish-looking bull demon wearing a with a robotic lower body. "I am Moloch, the Tyrant. May the image of my glorious might be seared into your mind."
You bring the pompous beast back into your phone and go to check on Vorvadoss and Bast. You see an oddly familiar shadowy, humanoid figure between the pair. They seem to be talking. With Kumiko and Gregory sparring, Rita flying around like a kid on a candy planet, and George making sure she doesn't do anything stupid, no one else seems to have noticed. You hop towards them with a few flaps of your wing. You blink, and the figure disappears - no, it's just hiding behind Vorvadoss, you realize.
"Kira? We aren't quite ready yet," Vorvadoss tells you. "Oh, yes. This is Hypnos. You may recognize him from the night before... the demons started appearing. He's the one you should really thank for pulling you here."
"Yeah, he's super-awesome! And super-shy, sorry. His big announcement thing was... I mean, you should've seen him rehearsing. And afterwards! He just kinda fell over. But Kira's nice, so c'mon, Hyppy, say hi!"
"...Hello," Hypnos mutters, still barely poking out from behind Vorvadoss. You greet him and give him your thanks. "It's... not a problem. Just doing my job. Hey, it's time for you guys to go back, huh? Y-yep. Um. I gotta go. Good luck, I guess."
You blink again, and he's gone. A few minutes later, you round everyone up and your Elder god friends pop open a portal back home. You look through, and see a familiar row of houses. You hop into the air and fly through the portal. Your body shifts as you fly through, and your now-human form crashes gracelessly into the ground. You didn't think that one through. You manage to turn in time to catch Rita from repeating the same mistake. Gregory comes crawling through on his stomach. Only Kumiko comes through normally.

"We're back..." Rita mutters, a hint of sadness in her voice. "That was so cool..."
"So, what now?" Kumiko asks.
You point out that your house is just down the street. George groans and says something about how Daniel's going to kill him, and about how the van's not here. Gregory similarly mutters something about Elise beating the crap out of him, and they both break out their phone, sending out messages. You check your phone and realizes that it's well past midnight. With the
"Good, you made it!" Bast greets you cheerfully.
"Of course they made it. We were the ones running the spell," Vorvadoss says proudly. "You should get some rest. Tomorrow's another day."
You tell Kumiko and Rita it's time to head home, and they fall in behind you. You politely tell George and Gregory they can stay in your living room if they want, seeing as they'd have to walk several blocks through the demon-infested city at night with only a half-moon for light. They don't protest.
You bring some blankets and whatnot to Gregory and George downstairs and find them arguing over the couch - both refusing to be the one to take it. You leave the children downstairs and head back up to the actual children to figure out sleeping arrangements. You're exhausted, and not in the mood to deal with anything.
"I... Um..." Rita mutters, fidgeting uncomfortably. "I'm... Um... I... don't... I'm kind of... I mean, after this afternoon, I..."
"Don't tell me you're scared of the dark?" Kumiko asks.
You tell the two of them to take the master bedroom, and you head into the guest room without another word. You have one more thing you need to do before bed. You pull open the demon auction to see what's available...

You manage to find a few interesting-looking demons on the auction. You find another Lailah and hire her immediately. You find a tough-looking dog with two heads and add him, as well. A Pyro Jack, one of those pumpkin-headed fire-flingers you've seen floating around. The last takes some deciding, but you finally choose a fluffy... abominable snowman-looking thing.
Bast starts saying something to you, but the fatigue is too much and you pass out.
Once again, you dream of the mysterious shadowed figure again - Hypnos, you now realize. Around you, there are tens of thousands of other shadows, rather than the millions you remember from the first dream. Hypnos stands in the center of the area, speaking in a totally different voice than when you met him in... person. "Mankind, your enemies will be here soon. So many of you have already fallen, yet those who remain have grown strong. Steel yourselves, and prepare for humanity's most desperate moment..."
You wake up, realizing what just happened. You can hear movement from other parts of the house, and assume the others had the same dream. You don't care. You roll over and go back to sleep.
Once again, you find yourself dreaming of animals... And you assume it may have again have a deeper meaning.
First you dream of several animals... people... on top of a tall building, though you aren't sure where. They seem to be in two groups. One group is a single lion, standing with its back against the edge. The other group contains several animals slowly closing in. One in particular catches your eye, a big golden retriever - Sara's favorite. The lion lunges forward, slashing one of the others in two, then turns and grabs another in its jaws and chucks it over the side and off the building. The golden retriever slams into the lion, and it skids over to the ledge. While it clings desperately, the dog walks over. Everything fades to black. The number 14 flashes in your mind.
Next you see a large plain. The lighting tells you it's early in the night. A turtle and a bull are surrounded by several hulking figures. They seem vaguely human-like, but... somehow not. Aside from their odd movements, they glow faintly. The pair don't react. They just stand and watch as the group closes in. It fades away, and the number 21 appears.
Another scene begins quickly. It takes you a moment to figure out what you're looking at in the darkness. There's a large ring of trees in the middle of a forest, with a giant stone... slab... table... thing in the center. And on that slab is a racoo- no, a tanuki? Presumably a tanuki, considering your luck. It seems to be unconscious. An impossibly large spider menacingly rears up at the head of the stone slab. It grabs the tanuki and starts to drag it away. Several hooded figures emerge from the trees, slowly converging on the pair. The spider drops the tanuki, and moves into a defensive position as more and more figures start to appear. The number 23 appears...

You wake up to a buzzing coming from your phone. You roll over and grab for it sleepily, before remembering what kind of world you're living in. You snatch your phone and roll out of bed, ready for a fight.
"Good morning, Kira!" Bast says. You grumpily ask what's wrong, why she woke you up.
"We wanted to talk to you about that rat and his witches yesterday," Vorvadoss says. "About why they were targeting you."
"...We have no idea," Bast admits. "Can you think of anything?"
You point out they've been with you ever since the demons started appearing, and you spent most of your time sitting at home. You also can't think of any time you may have made an enemy of a witch coven before then.
Vorvadoss shakes his head. "Strange. And you aren't the only one that's been targeted - that's what we were discussing with Hypnos last night. There were several abductions around the globe last night. Most weren't so lucky as you. So far, none of us have any idea why, what the groups may have had in common..."
Bast shrugs. "Oh, well. You'll just have to be super-careful. By the way, I created a super-useful summary of everything important that's been going on, in case you need to review. I figure it might help us figure this out."
After you throw on a clean outfit, you flip through your phone and search for her summary as you wander out of the guest room. A strange flickering in the hallway catches your eye, and you notice a flaming, orange glare seeping through the crack in the master bedroom, where Kumiko and Rita should be. You charge down the hall, worried it may be in flame, cautiously pushing the door open. Your newly-recruited Pyro Jack stares emptily at you from the other side, his eyes and lantern crackling with the same eerie flame, a wicked grin plastered across his face. You peek past the glorified nightlight and see the pair still sleeping soundly. You shrug and quietly pull the door back together.
Downstairs, you find Gregory and George both asleep on the floor on far sides of the room. The couch remains vacant. Stubborn idiots, the both of them.
You start throwing together a meal with the remnants of yesterday's food. Gregory is the first awake, followed shortly by George. Both refuse to join you for breakfast.
"I need to get back to Elise before she decides to replace me," Gregory explains. "Or kill me. Or both."
"Daniel'll have my hide if I don't hurry back," George apologizes. "I shoulda been feedin' the chickens an hour 'go. An' I gotta get that van back 'fore anythin' can happen to it."
You try to convince them to stay and eat, but they are, as you realized previously, stubborn idiots. You can only say goodbye to the both of them as they head out. George and Gregory left the party! It's almost 8AM when Kumiko shambles down the stairs groggily. "It's been so long since I've slept in a proper bed. It's... the greatest thing ever," she mutters. "But that light was... ugh..."
Rita's a few minutes behind her. "Good morning, Kira!" she says perkily. You ask why she's in such high spirits. "I got to explore an alien planet last night!" she gushes. "And not just an alien planet, an alien planet! Like, habitable, with its own life forms - plants, at least. Ah, it's like a dream... It... um, wasn't a dream, was it?"
Kumiko reaches out and pinches her. Rita yelps and jumps back. "Guess not," Kumiko says with a cruel grin.
You point out that's not quite how it works. While you eat breakfast, the three of you recount everything that happened last night. It seems it really did happen... Or you all shared a really strange hallucination. You then ask if they remember having any strange dreams.
"Oh, right... that... shadowy guy appeared again. The one from right before the demons started appearing. He said something about... three days?" Kumiko says.
"Right," Rita adds hesitantly. "I also remember something about... a lion... and a tarantula? But a giant tarantula... It's kind of foggy..."
You still remember the dreams clearly enough. A lion on a roof with what had to have been Sara, a cow and a turtle, then a racoon-tanuki thing on a stone slab with the spider... You're about to warn Kumiko when your phone starts buzzing. You look down and see you have a message from George.
Kira you really need to come and see that place from last night that we went in The one that was really freaky.. Right before the witches tried to nab us

You tell Kumiko and Rita to get ready. Kumiko shrugs and goes upstairs. Rita bites her lip, then quietly nods - better than being alone, you assume. Kumiko comes back downstairs after spending a few minutes brushing her hair and cleaning up her clothes. When they're finally ready, you lead your team back to the little inn, boarding house, whatever it was from the night before. You try to, anyway. You find George leaning against the truck next to a vacant lot.
"Oh, hey, Kira," he says with a little wave. "So, uh, came back fer the truck, and... uh..." He points at the vacant lot. "Ain't, uh, nothin' there. There was somethin' there last night, weren't there?"
"Yeah, a... really big, old building..." Kumiko says, flabbergasted.
"That's... certainly interesting?" Rita says. "I mean, lots of buildings have been destroyed in this chaos, but this looks like it's been vacant for years...?"
George looks shaken. "I asked Daniel 'bout it. He said he remembers his Pa mentionin' it when he was a kid. Somethin' 'bout how it was torn down a couple o' decades ago? A buncha weird stuff went down. Somethin' 'bout a cult an' a serial killer usin' it as his... whatsitcalled... dumpin' ground. Nasty business. Ain't no one wanted to ever rebuild here there after that..." He shakes his head. "This... ain't normal. I know what I saw."
You agree that it's not normal, but "normal" went out the window a month ago.
"An illusion? A demon's power? Some kind of... weird... time travel thing?" Kumiko suggests.
"It's... kinda scary," Rita admits. "But... not the worst thing..."
George scratches his head. "...Well, I just wanted to letcha'll know. Uh... Guess it weren't as important as I thought? I just ain't used to seein' buildin's up 'n' disappear like this... I'll see ya'll later, then. See ya." With that, he drives off.
"That was a waste of time," Kumiko complains. "I'm heading to the mall or something. All my clothes were in that office when it collapsed. Hopefully I can find some stuff in my size - hopefully something clean."
"I'll...! Um... I'll go with Kumiko," Rita says. "Um... I guess... If that's OK..."

You decide to check in on Rita and Kumiko. According to your phone, they're still at the mall together. You stroll over, recharging your phone with the crank as you go. There seem to be a few more demons out than normal, but none are brazen enough to pick a fight.
You find the mall in as much disrepair as you expected. The ruins of barricades and corpses - both human and demon - line the halls. You don't dawdle, heading straight to the store your phone says the pair are in. You find an empty furniture store, its contents converted into broken barricades, before realizing you probably have the wrong floor. After a few moments, you manage to find the two in what was once one of those hoity-toity stores for teens.
Kumiko is poking between the shelves, quickly flipping through outfits. "No, no, no... Too big, too small, too expensi- oh, right..."
Rita stands off to the side, apparently a bit uncomfortable. "Um... Kumiko? How much are you planning to get?"
"Just three or four outfits," Kumiko answers. "I don't plan to replace everything I lost. Oh, and let's not forget to stop at the shoe store."
"Um... Right..." Rita mutters.
"Aren't you going to get anything?" Kumiko asks. "You only have that one outfit, right?"
Rita nervously straightens a ribbon on her skirt. "W-well, yes... I... um... l-lost the others when... um... I-I don't want to go back for them, either..."
"Well, what're you going to do when it gets dirty?" Kumiko asks. "Or if it gets torn up or something?"
"I-If it gets messed up, I'll just... have to fix it..." Rita says.
"You know how to sew? Hm. Useful. We should stop by a craft store, too, get you some needles and whatnot. Still, you need at least one extra outfit for cleaning or while you're patching..." Kumiko muses. "C'mon, we'll pick out something for you."
"Um... This isn't really... my style..." Rita says.
"This isn't exactly the time to be picky," Kumiko scolds. "The cutesy look is... um... cute... but not really apocalypse-friendly."
"I just have to work a bit harder," Rita says. "I... guess I can find some stuff here, get some ribbon and things... um... spend some time fixing it up later..."
"That seems like a waste," Kumiko mutters.
"I know it'll take a lot of time, and it won't be as good as... um... Ack! O-oh, Kira... It's you. You startled me..."
Kumiko, now carrying a large stack of shirts, wanders over. "Good timing, Kira. Tell Rita there's no point worrying so much about clothes anymore. Just so long as it's functional... Anything else is a pointless waste."
"H-hey! I... um... I like looking cute," Rita says. "If... it makes me happy, then it's not pointless!" She concludes with surprising force, before immediately retreating again. "R-right, Kira?"

Still waiting for votes for this one and a tie-breaker for the other supports (between Elise, Gregory, Bart, and Waite).
Since some people are new to the series, I should mention! Killing a boss unlocks them in the fusion place. Unknown Brown Jenkins can now be fused!
