Mina wakes up and walks over to her mirror after changing, sighing.
"Today's that day, huh? I have to go and do this myself. Am I ready? Can I truly be called a rider? My mounts a little... unorthodox... What if they take that into consideration? Mm, no matter, I'm the best! I KNOW I can do this! YEAH!" She was psyching herself up... and it was working. "I WILL be a rider! I AM a rider! Come on, this'l be easy! YEAAAAAH!"
Then she hears a noise from her door. A scratching sound. Picking up her spear just in case, she opens the door slowly... Only to be tackled by her pet, who would today finally be her mount. Her mount, a Mauthe Doog she had nicknamed Cebbie when she was young. Just the thought of finally being able to ride him into battle would usually brighten her day. Not that she had many of those, of course. Indeed, Mina thought highly of herself.
"Alright boy, come on, get off!" She laughs, pushing her friend off and standing up. "We gotta go and get the badge that says we passed, first. And to do that, we have to pass the trial. But come on, we've been preparing for this our whole lives! If we aren't ready for it now, we'll never be! So let's go."
It's a long walk, about 30 minutes away. Mina could only wish that she passed. It would make it so much easier on both of them once they passed; She wouldn't have to walk everywhere, and Cebbie would gain even more muscle, becoming nice and strong. Not to mention, that badge could get her places. She dreamed of all the glorious places she could go once she got the pass. The whole world was practically open to the Riders!
She was tired of this village-school, tucked away, hidden. She remembered so little of the outside world... Did her parents simply send her here to get away from them? Is that why she had gotten Cebbie, so they could leave her behind and go places? Mina shakes her head, feeling the tears well up in her eyes.
"No... I'm not going to think on the past. If I ever find them, then I'll find them. And I'll talk to them, and-OOF!" Mina stumbles back. Some guy had just come charging at her, panic in his eyes.
"RUN! RUN AWAY!" He screams, scrambling away, not bothering to help her up. Mina gets up on her own and glares daggers at where the man departed.
"How DARE he bump into me. Must not know who I'll be becoming as soon as I get there." Then she hears the screams. She couldn't waste time running! She hops on Cebbie's back. "Cebbie! To the school, GO!" She yells as Cebbie takes off, his feet pounding the pavement.
When she got there... it wasn't pretty. Spells were slinging, and spears were falling.
"NO!" She yells, looking for the head master. Ah, there he is! She urges Cebbie on, and in a few seconds, they got there.
"Master! W-what's going on?"
"T-they found you. We tried our best, but we couldn't handle them. Run, Run! You can't take them on... This school is doomed. You need to-"
"Wait! Am I A Rider? I-I need to-" She doesn't notice his pulse stopping. "H-hey! Do I have to spell it out for you?! A-M-space-I-space-A-space-R-I-D-E-R?!"
No response.
"Dammit, he's gone." She sighs.
Mina stands up and hops on Cebbie. "Come on boy, let's go. I know just the place we can escape to!" She says, bolting off toward the forest.
It was a few minutes of riding, Cebbie taking off at great speeds. They were in a forest, Mina knew that much. She didn't ecplore that much, her riding took up most of her time.
"THE GODS! THE GODS!" Speaks many voices. With Cebbie going fast, it was far too late to avoid the blue things that were stationary, waiting for her. Mina and Cebbie barrel into them, knocking several aside and into dust. Mina screams at that reaction.
"W-what are you?!" She yelps out, turning around. The two blue ones that were left pull out their swords.
"GIVE US THE GODS!" They yell, charging at Mina.
"W-what do I do?!"
A. Fight back, they have to be weak!
B. Fight back, getting off of Cebbie so they can fight side by side!
C. RUN! RUN AWAY!
JK. Throw Cebbie at them and run!
