Hello, this is a discussion topic for the upcoming "Take Back the Power: an inFAMOUS RP" Role-play. It'll be here when it's ready.
Anyways, let's use this to discuss all the details for that instead of clogging Austur's discussion topic. Maybe we'll make a joint discussion topic when the time comes?

I think I've found our Ground Zero. It'll be at Oakland Cemetary, and it will destroy about half of South Downtown, Capital Gateway, Oakland, Sweet Auburn, Old Fourth Ward, Reynoldstown, some of Glenwood Park, half of Grant Park, a bit of Summerhill, Cabbagetown, and a tiny bit of Five Points. No! Not the skate park, cyclorama, and the zoo!

I just realized I responded in ze wrong topic. Oh well.
Anyways, it's necessary to destroy the government offices in South Downtown, Old Fourth Ward, and a few other places. Plus, I didn't want to destroy the Aquarium.

Cyclorama noun A circular picture of a 360 degree scene, viewed from inside atlantacyclorama.orgIf you remember your American History lessons, you'll know why Atlanta is also known as the Phoenix city.

So, guys, GX, I'll fill you in on what SMEX and I have already planned.
There are two main villain factions along with an anti-hero who did stuff. Most of the stuff is just information for us, as our characters wouldn't know most of the more secret information (the leader of the Death Runners and her power, the true nature of the CDDA, and who activated the Ray Sphere along with his story) Also, plan on having your character deliver an internal monologue during your first post that details what happened to them between the blast and the post, as it will be exactly one week after the blast, because of story reasons. Also, just so you know, this takes place two months after the Good ending of Second Son.
The first one is the CDDA (Conduit Detection and Detainment Agency), which is a daughter organization of the First Sons, and they seek to progress humanity by finding the truth behind Conduits, but they use a facade of being an anti-Conduit police force to capture both active and inactive Conduits. Not very well liked by those who know their true nature, as they perform all sorts of inhumane tests on their subjects. Leader is Vincent Banks, a Conduit who has the ability to manipulate Glass.
The Death Runners, a gang that seeks to take over Atlanta following the blast, much like the Reapers. Full of all sorts of scum and villainy, the gang's members grow every day, each bearing the symbol of a winged skull with crossed pistols where the mandible would be. There is something strange as the gang quickly increased in power a few days following the blast, the reverse effect it had on the police force. Currently lead by Lida Carroll, a Conduit whose power is to manipulate LSD. Lida Carroll was your stereotypical valley girl who lived in rural Georgia until her parents' farm burned down. At the age of seventeen three years before the blast, she fled with her younger brother Ryan to Atlanta where they lived as homeless until the Death Runners kidnapped Ryan and forced her to rob small establishments for them. Gradually, though, she began to enjoy the crime until she joined the gang voluntarily, though she kept Ryan out of it. However, after Ryan was shot and killed in a turf war, she became depressed and turned to a variety of illegal drugs to make her feel alive again. She then lead a small group of drug-dealing junkies, then the blast occurred. Her Conduit abilities activated and she took the opportunity to take control of the Death Runners. To destroy any and all rival gangs to avenge her fallen brother and strike fear into Atlanta.
Now we have Mark Dustin, the anti-hero. One of the first subjects captured by the CDDA, he went through years of intensive testing. His powers eventually activating. They then continued to test him, over and over again. Weeks became months, and months became years, but all that was about to change. They thought his mind was dulling, but it was sharper than ever. He heard of a device called the Ray Sphere, a bomb that would kill normals but activate and strengthen any Conduits caught in the blast. The first one started the Plague, but the RFI had been activated. The Plague could no longer spread. One day, one of the guards carelessly delivered him undercooked meat in his meal. A fatal mistake to be sure. Using his power to control dead flesh, he killed the guard and broke his way out of his cell and made his way to the research facility, where lo and behold, there was a Ray Sphere intact. Mark knew what he must do. After making his way out into the streets of Atlanta, he activated the Ray Sphere, destroying much of the city, and activating every Conduit nearby. Finally, there was the power to take down the CDDA.
Anyways, Vincent Banks needs a backstory.
Also, I'll put in the example power tree I designed and descriptions for it.

Power Drain: Power Drain Upgrade Basic Shot: Basic Shot Upgrade: Karmic Basic Shot Charged Shot: Karmic Charged Shot: Karmic Charged Shot Secondary Power: Secondary Shot Upgrade: Secondary Shot Upgrade: Karmic Secondary Shot Power Shot: Power Shot Upgrade: Karmic Power Shot Passive Power: Passive Power Upgrade Power Melee: Takedown Upgrade: Karmic Takedown/Melee Traversal Power: Traversal Power Upgrade: Karmic Traversal Power: Karmic Traversal Power Hover Power: Hover Power Upgrade Comet Drop: Karmic Comet Drop Karmic Bomb
Power Drain is how much power you can hold and the upgrade is something that effects that, not the capacity itself (Quicker absorption, more efficient absorption). Basic Shot is just the basic projectile (I.E. shooting a ball of sand) Charged Shot takes a second or two to use, but its more powerful than a Basic Shot (Launching a wave of sand that could hit multiple enemies.) Secondary Power is a non-shot ability that usually has a secondary effect (A sand grenade or dust storm that blinds enemies) Power Shot has limited ammo per recharge and is like a missile (Launching a small whirlwind of sand that explodes on impact) Passive Power is a passive power (Take less damage from X, get something from doing X, etc.) Power Melee is melee (Creates Hulk Hands out of sand to beat the enemy into submission) Traversal Power is the main method of transportation (Turning into a pile of sand that can move quickly and slide through small gaps or surfing on the ground by using a platform of sand) Hover Power is just a way to slow a fall and move in mid-air (shoots a small stream of sand downwards to glide) Comet Drop is falling as fast as you can to make in impact once you hit the ground that can damage enemies (Falls from the ground and punches it, creating a shockwave of sand that blinds enemies. It also increases in power the longer you fall) Karmic Bomb is basically just a superpowerful attack that is usable after doing a string of Good or Evil deeds (Creates a sandstorm that traps enemies in sand if Good, kills enemies if Evil)

Yeah, but we won't start this until maybe a month or so. Wouldn't want to overwhelm you guys with RPs.

Speaking of Nova, I need to post in that.
GX, would you like to take me up on that offer I was going to offer but didn't that you know of that involves Randoms and Shows and Downs?

Oh really?
It's pretty easy actually. You just choose a name and you can make teams and set up a password. Also, Randoms are really fun too.

So, SMEX, you're going with Radio powers, correct?
Also, if you haven't come up with a backstory for Vincent, then don't worry. Focus on Austur for now and just think of it in your spare time.
