"So, you're the one I keep hearing about, eh?"
You give a polite bow. "I am. My name is Nagi."
So this is Narshe... An imposing man indeed. He's a giant of a man, with an even bulkier physique, and a long fiery red mane. He also has quite the impressive beard. Sonia giggles, and she seemingly reads your thoughts. "Don't worry. He may look like a grumpy bear, but he's a complete softy."
Narshe scoffs, and moves back to the counter, where he proceeds to stir a pot with a giant ladle. The aroma of food, likely stew, wafts through the air, and your stomach rumbles. You look down, once again surprised by your own appetite.
Narshe turns slightly, raising a single eyebrow. "Oh? I see your bottomless appetite is still as impressive as ever."
You blush a bit. "Yeah, well... It's only been a few hours, so I don't think my appetite could have changed much..."
Sonia giggles again, and Narshe rolls his eyes. "Ha. You got some wit in you, girl. Tell ya what. If you'll run a little errand for me, I'll be more than happy to feed you as much as you'd like."
That sounds like a good idea... Especially to your stomach. Sonia suddenly remembers the original reason for this visit, and her face lights up. "Oh, wait! Narshe, do you have any chocolate? Our friend here has never known the wonders of chocolate."
Even Narshe seems surprised by that, which actually annoys you a bit. What the heck is chocolate? Sonia seems to believe it's the greatest food on the planet, and apparently, she isn't the only one who believes so. "Is that so? Huh. I can't say I'm not surprised. But chocolate isn't exactly a common commodity, you know. We only have a limited supply in the Larder, and it takes a long while to make another batch."
Sonia crosses her arms and puts on her best 'I'm not taking no for an answer' stance. "Oh, no you don't. She's going to have some chocolate even if I have to break into the pantry myself to get her some."
He actually laughs at that, a hearty, boisterous laugh. "And you, my dear girl, are still a spitfire, I see. Alright, how about this? You do that errand I mentioned for me and I'll throw in some chocolate for both of you."
Sonia appears sceptical. "Uh-huh. And what would you have us do?"
Narshe grins slightly. "Nothing too dangerous, don't worry. I need some ingredients from the Sacred Forest, but I don't have the time to go gather them myself. I need a dozen Elderberries, a batch of Whiteflowers, some Tairn Root, and some Evening Herbs. It shouldn't take too long. The ingredients are mostly found around the same area, near the back of the forest."
Sonia turns to you, clearly on the fence herself. She seems to want to go, but... Something seems to be bothering her. "What do you want to do, Nagi? It's up to you. I can always show you the place I found you while we're there."
That's a good point... But still... Why do you suddenly have such a bad feeling about this?
A: Agree to the offer, and head to the Sacred Forest by yourselves. B: Agree to the offer, but see if Sonia knows some extra backup you could bring, just in case. C: Decline the offer. It doesn't matter how good it is, food isn't worth risking your lives.

You bite your lip, and turn to Sonia. Sure, you want to regain your memories as quickly as possible... And doing this favor for Narshe would kill two birds with one stone... Er, figuratively speaking of course. But this might not be the best time to wander outside the walls without backup...
"Is there any muscle we could hire, Sonia? I don't like the idea of us going out there alone."
She arches a single perfect eyebrow and shoots you a look that seems to say, This coming from the woman who punched a Ygses in the face?
Sonia suddenly turns to Narshe, who quickly shakes his head. "Don't even ask, girlie. If I had the time to go traipsing around in the forest, I wouldn't have asked ya for help in the first place, now would I?"
Sonia shrugs and gives an overly dramatic sigh. "Fine, I see your point. You're still a jerk though. A big, giant man like yourself sending two young women out into the forest on their own. Who knows what could happen to us out there?"
She feigns a shiver, and grins mischievously at you. "Well, since we can't count on the men around here, how about some more girl power? Let's go find my sis. She's an excellent archer, if I do say so myself. Smell ya later, Narshe."
He only grunts and waves, not even looking up from his cutting board. You have a feeling you might have annoyed him a bit... And now that poor tomato is suffering the price. Sonia practically drags you outside, though you don't complain. But still... You should be more at ease now... So why has the pit of dread in your stomach only grown?
"Sonia wait," you say quickly, gently stopping her with a hand to her shoulder. She turns to you in surprise, and gives you a questioning look. "What's up?"
"Are you sure about this? Bringing Eren along, I mean. She's still so young... And who knows what we'll find out there. I don't want to place her in harm's way."
Sonia's eyes soften, and she gives a warm smile. "Don't worry, Nagi. I wouldn't have suggested it if I didn't think she could handle the trip. She may be young, but don't let appearances fool you. She's the second best Markswoman in the whole village. And besides, we'll be there in case anything happens, and I'll make sure to pack plenty of Mend Staves and Vulneraries. So try not to worry so much, 'kay?"
You nod, feeling much better now. I do seem to have that problem often, don't I? Worrying too much... Well, I AM a mother, so maybe that's it.
Sonia leads you out back, behind the larder, to a particularly large archery range near the eastern wall. Sure enough, you find Eren there, dressed in a simple brown shirt and pants, firing practice arrows at targets. Some of the targets are stationary, while others are dangling from a kind of wire, and being swung back and forth in the wind. Seemingly without even trying, Eren nails every target in rapid succession, striking the Bullseye every time. What really amazes you, however, is the fact she's using a real Longbow, not a practice one, and she's able to fire the bow with ease, despite it being almost as large as she is, if not larger.
Sonia beams with pride, and whistles. Eren stops mid motion, her hand just reaching for another arrow, and she turns. Her entire face lights up, and she bounds over like a hyperactive cat.
"Hey sis, Miss Nagi! What are you two doing here?" She then notices your matching outfits, and lack of shoes, and bursts into laughter. "And what happened to your shoes!"
Sonia ruffles her younger sister's hair. "Never mind that, squirt. How would you like to help us out? We're getting ready to run an errand for Narshe in the forest, and I promised I would show Nagi where we found her. You wanna come? It sure beats firing blanks at wooden targets all day."
Eren practically glows with excitement. "You bet I do! I wouldn't miss this if you paid me!"
You had a feeling she would say something like that... Well, you trust Sonia. She wouldn't do anything to risk her sister. You head back to the Elder's house, walking a bit behind Sonia and Eren, thinking to yourself. Sonia mentioned Eren was the second best Markswoman in the village... So who was the best?
------
The woman fled through the trees as fast as her legs could carry her, as silent as a shadow, despite her pounding heart and heavy breathing. A beautiful black bow bounced at her back, a bow as black as midnight, and her clothing was torn in several places from running through branches and thickets. But still... Still, she had it. She finally had it!
The face of the giant mountain soon came into view, looming overhead like an angry god, but so did the cave hidden beneath the mountain's shadow. Vex's heart leapt for joy, and instead of slowing down, she ran faster. She ducked beneath the low ceiling, and crawled to the back of the cave. The cave widened out into a massive cavern with an underground stream running through the center. The love of her life sat leaning against a large rock near the stream, covered in a light blanket.
She rushed to his side, knelt down next to him, and checked his pulse. Pulse was fine, breathing was better, and his fever has gone down... Vex breathed a sigh of relief, and gently shook him awake.
"Jet... Jet baby, I need you to wake up..."
His eyes slowly opened, and focused on her. He seemed more coherent now... Good. "Vex... What did you find?"
"Not much," she answers honestly. "The entire forest is eerily silent, and there's no signs of any Ancestors anywhere. As soon as you're better, we should make a break for the village. But never mind that for now. Here love, drink."
Vex gently placed the vial of liquid to his lips, and helped him drink. With her help, he drained the entire vial. And when his gag reflex kicked in, as expected, Vex did the only thing she could think of. She kissed him.
He gradually settled down, and more importantly, he was able to keep the antidote down. Afterwards, Vex retrieved some cured meat from her bag, and helped him eat and drink. Then, she snuggled next to him, beneath the blanket, and watched him fall asleep again.
The village needed to know... They needed to know what happened... About that... That monster... But she couldn't leave him. Not like this.
Juan... Please, don't let us down...

"Well, what do you think?" Sonia asks cheerfully, as she leads you deeper into the forest. Eren is a few paces ahead of her, scanning the forest trail with the eye of a professional huntress, and keeping watch. Honestly, the girl's expertise would be shocking enough, even if you weren't easily impressed right now.
But then again, who can blame you? There are still so many gaps in your memory, it's hard to distinguish between the normal and the extraordinary. But some things are clearly extraordinary, even to you, and it's those things that leave you speechless. And right now, between Eren's uncanny ability and this ancient forest, you're at a loss for words.
"It's incredible," you finally manage to say, your eyes still wide with wonder.
It had been a short walk from Naandia to the Eternal Forest, short enough that you barely had time to adjust to the jungle before the trees began to change, and you found yourself walking among giants. Before you found the name grandiose, but now... Now you realize just how appropriate the name truly is.
Giant redwood trees tower into the sky, their trunks thicker than entire houses, and their branches the size of roads. A steady stream of orange and brown leaves drift down from the canopy high above, guided by golden beams of sunlight, and a gentle breeze. That breeze felt wonderful on your skin, and you realize it's something you never would have felt with your old armor. You can sense the deep magic coursing through the forest, an ancient, primordial magic, and it only adds to the forest's mystical aura.
It's difficult to describe, but you feel as if you're standing at the edge of time, at the very heart of nature itself. Without trying to sound cliché, it was almost like the forest was alive.
"This is one of the oldest places on the planet," Sonia says, nodding in agreement with your earlier statement. "It truly is incredible. The magic here is old and powerful, and it's engrained in every root, every leaf, every branch. If you listen closely, you can almost hear a melody, like the forest is singing."
She turns to you, breaking out into a wide, devious grin. "Well, that's what the old geezer says at least. Come on! I'll race you to the top!"
To the top? To the top of what?
Before you can ask, Sonia takes off towards the nearest tree at a dead sprint, and leaps up onto the lowest branch like a monkey. You stand there for a moment, wide eyed, watching as Sonia leaps from branch to branch with mind blowing agility. In mere seconds, she's halfway up a tree that is probably over a thousand feet tall. You see a gust of wind magic every now and again, as she climbs higher and higher.
You decide to follow her, mostly out of concern. You take off at a sprint and jump, using the full strength of your legs to launch you like a spring, with nearly godlike results. The ground cracks and splinters beneath your feet, rocketing you into the air. In a single bound, you breeze past the treetops and break through the canopy, hundreds of feet above the ground. Your momentum slows as the wind pushes against you, and you latch onto a branch the size of a normal tree. You expect to break a couple fingers, at the very least, but instead your grip remains firm and your hands uninjured. Instinct takes over, and you effortlessly swing yourself up onto the enormous branch, only to find Sonia waiting for you on a branch just above.
"You okay?"She calls down, grinning widely. "You're not gonna have a heart attack or anything, right?"
You scoff, as your breathing begins to calm and your hands slowly stop shaking. "I'm not that old, little miss."
Sonia giggles and drops down next to you. The branch doesn't even quiver.
"I win," she announces proudly, leaning back against the trunk. "You'll need at least another decade of practice before you can defeat me in a race."
You shake your head, and pin her with a disbelieving stare. "You're absolutely insane, you know that?"
She giggles again. "Uh-huh. Says the scantily clad woman with the strength of a flying mountain."
You feel your cheeks redden. "I am not scantily clad, you little witch. Take that back."
Sonia only laughs harder, and you rather childishly turn your back to her. "Fine," you say jokingly, smiling slightly. You close your eyes. "I'm not speaking to you for the rest of the night."
"Real mature milady," Sonia taunts good naturedly, and you try not to laugh. "Aww, come on. Don't be like that. You'll miss the most beautiful sight in the world. No... The universe."
You open your eyes and turn, just in time to see the first rays of dusk, and the Sun start to dip below the horizon. Wow... Is it that late already? You hadn't even noticed...
Your breath catches in your throat. The sheer majesty of the sight was beyond belief. It was... Stunning. You're high enough to see the entire island from here. No... With your eyes, you can see even farther. It's like sitting at the very top of the world. Strangely enough, the scene feels familiar to you. It feels almost nostalgic... Like you've done this before, but at a different place, with a different person. For the briefest of moments, a piece of a memory comes back to you. It was a memory of falling asleep, near the throat of the world.
That's right... I've seen the Sunset from the clouds before... We... We used to fly together, when we were younger... We stopped at Mount Stormfrost, and watched the Sunset from the peak once. I... I even fell asleep in his arms then. Why can't I remember his face? His voice? Why can't I...
"I used to come up here with my brother when I was younger," Sonia says suddenly, her voice soft and distant. "We would talk for hours, just about stuff. What did we want to do when we grew up? What did we think the world beyond the ocean looked like? We used to fantasize about someday meeting our father, and what we would say to him. We would talk about all the adventures we would have, all the new places we would go, and all the new people we would meet. The great discoveries we would make... The vast hoards of treasure we would find... We swore we would carve our names into the scrolls of history. And then, finally, we would settle down and put our adventuring days behind us. My brother would become an everyday innkeeper, and spend the rest of his life writing a memoir. I would become a librarian in a small town somewhere, and raise a family. No one would suspect us of being legendary adventurers."
Sonia closes her eyes and gives a sad sigh. Thinking she needs it, you place an arm around her shoulders. She doesn't object.
"You should have seen us back then, Nagi... We were so full of hopes and dreams... Our eyes were bright, and we woke up everyday excited for our next adventure. We would chase each other into the forest, and down over the old river... We had our own secret hideout, hidden away in a small cave. Jet was so proud of it... I miss those days, Nagi. I miss them so damn much. Everything was so simple back then... All we had to do was stay out of trouble and be home before dinner."
A deep sense of yearning blossoms in your chest, a yearning so strong it brings a tear to your eye. It's right then that you realize you know exactly how she feels. This longing... This longing for days long gone, and people long passed. For missed Sunsets and the feel of the grass on your bare feet. And yet... It's odd but... You don't feel like it's a reason to be sad.
"We all grow up, Sonia. That's just a part of life. But yearning for the past, for those memories we hold so dear... That's not a bad thing, is it? It's those experiences, those times we laughed and cried, and hoped and dreamed, that makes us who we are. We owe it to our pasts, and to ourselves to live everyday to the fullest. We owe it to those memories to live a life worthy of them, and to create new, even better memories. And who knows, Sonia. Maybe someday you'll be that old librarian after all, with a dozen grandkids and a million adventures under her belt. But you have to make that dream come true, Sonia. No one else can do it for you."
She opens her eyes and stares at you, and you can see the wonder and disbelief shining in her ethereal gaze. "Nagi... Who are you, really?"
You shrug, and give a small smile. "Dunno. But I'm hoping I'll find out soon."
You suddenly clap your knees and rise to your feet, just as a sudden gust of wind kicks up, causing your hair to billow around you. "Right. Time to go, Sonia."
She nods, and you offer her your hand. The two of you return to the ground together, and Eren meets you with a bag of newly picked flowers and herbs in her hands. No one speaks, although in that moment, there is no need to.
Eren abruptly decides to toss a harmless twig at her sister, and you watch, smiling, as the siblings chase each other around in circles like possessed kittens.
Thank you, Sonia... These memories mean more to me than I can say. I will cherish them always. You look up towards the fading Sun, and smile. A single tear slides down your cheek.

Naandia, town square...
The Elder happened upon Narshe by chance, while out looking for his grandchildren. He came upon his old friend in the square, buying a new set of silverware for his personal use. The Elder merely smiled and chuckled. Even after all these years, it was still odd seeing the giant man wielding forks and spoons instead of his signature great axe. "Picking up some more silver for the wife?"
Narshe turned and gave a wicked grin, followed by a booming laugh. "What else? After the uh... Little accident the other day, I had to use some of our silver for the Larder."
"And then you went and partially melted those too," the Elder finished, smiling knowingly.
Narshe's grin turned sheepish, and he nervously scratched the back of his neck. "Yeah, well... I was a bit preoccupied with... Other things, and I forgot I had the forks near the burner. Accidents happen, you know? Anyway, what brings the hermit crab out of his shell this time? You shouldn't stay up so late you old geezer, it's bad for your health. I heard three in the afternoon is a good time for old folks to go to bed."
"You aren't a spring chicken anymore yourself," the Elder shot back without missing a beat. "So if that were true, we'd all starve!"
They both burst into laughter at that. It was an old joke among the villagers, that no one knew how to cook besides Narshe; that's why there was an official town chef. The Elder was the first to sober. "Actually, this hermit crab is out looking for his grandchildren. You wouldn't happen to know where they went, would you old friend?"
Narshe raised both eyebrows. "What are you talking about? Sonia and Eren went into the forest to fetch me some herbs, along with the Guardian. Didn't she tell you?"
Various emotions and feelings passed across the old man's face, like angry storm clouds chasing a breeze. First surprise, then shock and anger, and finally fear. It was already dark, he realized. It might already be too late. "Watch the village," the Elder commanded, his voice suddenly stern, his expression grim. "I have to go out for a bit."
The Elder turned on his heel without another word, and strode back to his hut. He stayed only long enough to throw on his cloak, change into his boots, and grab his staff. Sonia, my child... What have you done? Guardian, I pray now, that you are truly whom I believe you are... -------
The eternal forest was like a maze. An endless, natural maze of overgrown trees and foliage. The deeper into the forest you delved, the more wild and untamed it became. The forest grew thick and dense, and it wasn't long before you had to clear a path with your spear.
How difficult would it be to find one more flower, you had asked yourself. That, however, had been hours ago. The Sun had long since vanished, and what little light you had to see by came from Sonia's magic, not the Moon. You finally managed to convince Sonia to let it go, to head back with what you have, but that had been over an hour ago. As it turned out, navigating these woods in the dark proved troublesome even for Eren.
You did enjoy the walk though, as it gave you time to think. Your show of strength earlier, when you raced Sonia up the tree... It terrified you. It still does. You know you're different... That much is true. But... Just how different? How different would you have to be in order to do something like that? It's not natural. Even with the gaps in your memory you know that. Before you had been so eager to get your memories back... But now... Now the thought terrifies you. What if I don't like the answer? What if my memories were lost for a reason?
You ponder talking to Sonia about it... But now probably isn't the best time. She seems to have her hands full just keeping her magic going for so long. "I wish I had brought my Illuminate Staff," Sonia grumbles, squinting through the darkness. "Or just a regular old torch. Eren, are you sure we're going the right way?"
"I... I think so," she replies quietly, her voice barely more than a whisper. "I could have sworn..."
Her tone doesn't exactly inspire confidence you note, hacking your way through the underbrush with the tip of your spear. You've been trying to avoid cutting down as many plants and branches as possible... But it hasn't worked very well so far. Eren seems a bit discouraged by the whole ordeal, and it brings out the protective mother in you. "Buck up, Eren," you tell her, smiling. "This isn't your fault, sweetie. Any tracker worth their salt would have trouble getting through a forest this dense on a cloudy night."
That seems to make her feel better, and she smiles back. "You're right. Thanks, Nagi. You're awesome." She then blows a raspberry at her sister, who promptly threatens to strangle her.
You giggle a bit. They're so adorable together... Their playfulness is almost infectious.
Your eyes catch something in the dark, off to the left, and you halt so suddenly Eren and Sonia run into you. "Ouch! Jeez Eren, watch where you're going! Unless you want to get a dose of electricity in the back."
Eren gapes in disbelief. "Why are you always so mean to me? I didn't stop, Na-"
You shush them both, and they quiet down instantly. You could have sworn you saw something in the trees... A shadow of some kind, and just now, you thought you heard something. Until now, all the animals had stayed clear thanks to Sonia's magic... But this didn't look like any animal to you. The shadow was long and slender... It had an elongated form, like that of an extremely tall and extremely skinny man. The tiny hairs on the nape of your neck stand on end. Suddenly, your senses sharpen, and you see, really see the forest for the first time since the Sun had set.
The beautiful, mystical forest of the day was gone, and it had been replaced by a darker, more sinister counterpart. The forest had changed without you noticing. And it wasn't just a simple, subtle change either... This forest was wild and impartial... But it wasn't wild in the normal sense... It wasn't wild the way the forest had been before. No, it was wild like a tiger, or a river, or a hurricane. Good and evil didn't exist in this place. It was cold and uncaring... Impartial like an aging Justice. It simply was.
Eren grasps your hand for comfort, and in that moment, you realize you made a terrible mistake. "Where... Where are we?" Sonia whispers fearfully, looking around. Her eyes had opened too.
Whatever spell the forest must have had on us has worn off... Is it because I realized the difference? Or is it because I saw the shadow? Illusions... Realization... Why does this seem so... Familiar?
"I don't know Sonia... But tighten your belt. We aren't in the Eternal Forest anymore."

You notice the same shadow several times over the next hour. Or is it a different shadow? Regardless, it's clear to you now you're being hunted... A feeling, as it turns out, that is quite alien to you. You may not know much about yourself, but you do know you're accustomed to being the hunter, not the prey. You say nothing of this to the girls, of course, as you don't want to worry them. But... Sonia, at least, already suspects as much anyway.
"How much farther to the village?" You ask abruptly, your voice only a soft whisper.
"We should reach the jungle's outskirts in a few more minutes," Sonia says quietly over your shoulder. "If we just keep heading west, we'll start to see the forest change."
If we just keep heading west...
The logic of that assumption was sound, yes, but... The entire premise of that assumption is built around a single belief: that this is still the Eternal Forest. But if this really is a different forest, as you suspect... If the forest somehow changes or transforms after nightfall... Then heading west may very well be pointless. It may lead you to a completely different area of the forest, or it could even lead you back to where you started. There's only one way of knowing for sure...
Something catches your eye again-a shadow flitting and dancing between the branches- and you react on instinct alone. Faster than the blink of an eye, you turn and hurl your spear. While you may not remember who, and what you are, your body certainly seems to remember, as you've found out on several occasions already. A sound like thunder rends the air, as your spear strikes the tree with the ferocity of a lightning bolt. It was the same tree where the shadow had been but moments before, and now it sported a deep cleft right down the middle, reaching halfway up the trunk. The tree- a massive, ancient thing- had been split in two. The shadow, however, was nowhere to be found.
So even I'm not fast enough? Could it merely be my imagination?
"Holy crap Nagi!" A startled Sonia gasps. "Are you trying to give me a heart attack?! Next time you decide to smite some poor unsuspecting tree, give a girl some warning first! I swear, it's like travelling with a... A... Hell, I don't even know anymore!"
You give a light laugh at her hysterical reaction, and smile apologetically. "Sorry. I uh... I'll try not to do that too often."
Sonia suddenly shivers. "Oh man... I think my life just flashed before my eyes. I know how I'm going to die now. It's crystal clear to me. I'm going to be walking through the forest one day soon, towards the old river. Unbeknownst to me, you're going to be bathing there... And I'm going to find a spear in my gut because you noticed my movement out of the corner of your eye. I think we really need to get your memories back soon... An amnesiac Nagi acting solely on instinct is terrifying."
"Really?" Eren asks mischievously, grinning. "But this is so much fun. I think you're just a wuss, sis."
"Shut up, Eren."
You shake your head at their now-all-to-familiar antics. Those sisters express their love for each other in the oddest of ways. But... It's oddly comforting. Maybe because it's so normal. "Don't worry, Sonia. I promise to let you know at least three days in advance if I plan to bathe in the river."
She gives you a very droll stare. "Uh-huh. I'm gonna hold you to that."
You laugh again, and go to retrieve your spear. You linger for a moment, closing your eyes and running your hands along the splintered bark. Forgive me, O great one. I did not mean to strike you. But fear not. I will not allow your death to be meaningless. I humbly ask for your blessing, great one.
You open your eyes and pick up a small chunk of the broken wood. You place it into your bag and return to your young friends. A sudden breeze passes through the treetops, rustling the leaves, and you look up. For a moment, the forest seems almost... Lighter. You close your eyes again and listen. In the wind, it almost sounds like the trees are speaking...
"Nagi? You okay?"
A wide smile spreads across your face. "I'm fine, Sonia. Wait here a moment. I'll be right back."
You hand a stunned Sonia your spear and pack, and begin to climb. You don't rocket yourself into the air like last time. You don't know why, but something just tells you that would be a mistake. Instead, you take your time and climb normally, feeling the wind in your hair, feeling it caress your face and skin. You feel the rough bark beneath your hands, and the forest all around you. You almost became a part of the forest itself.
Finally, the wind begins to rise, and you crest the tree top, finding yourself once again high over the world. But... The view is different this time, even startlingly so. You should be able to see the entire island from here; the fishing village of Naandia, the imposing Mount Scar, and the great ocean beyond. However, all you see is a vast and dark wood, stretching on for miles and miles in every direction. Alarm bells blared instantly in your mind. Every fiber of your being told you that this should be impossible. That it was a mistake. An illusion. But somehow, against all sense and reason, you knew immediately it was real. It wasn't just the forest after all. The entire island was gone. Someone, or something had transported you to a completely different place without you or Sonia even noticing.
Well, there's nothing else for it now... No use in thinking about it. Not on my own, anyway. My first priority is to make sure Sonia and Eren are safe. Then we can find some shelter and decide what to do.
You begin climbing back down the tree, and this time, there is more urgency in your movement. A memory nagged incessantly in the recesses of your mind. Illusions that aren't illusions... transformation... teleportation... Undone by realization...
Your sense of urgency triples, and a sick feeling develops in your gut. By the time you finally reach the bottom, you already know what you're going to find. At least you aren't surprised, you think grimly, as you kneel on the forest floor. There, not a foot in front of you, is your pack and spear. Sonia and Eren are nowhere to be found.

Bump! I'm about to start working on the next post right now. Btw, just a friendly word of advice: you should really, really try to solve that riddle. Just saying.
Also, guess what time it is! It's time for a Nina Reminder! I know we haven't had one in a while, but since I'm finally getting into the swing of updating UB again, it's only fair!
ALERT!!!! ALERT!!!! THIS IS A NINA REMINDER!!!!
Remember that adorable Taguel? You know, the one with the Kellam curse? She must be S Ranked with someone by Chapter 18, or you will be automatically locked out of the True Ending and Golden Ending!
THIS HAS BEEN A NINA REMINDER. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE.
Nina Reminders are brought to you by Trailblazer Shipping, where wishes and dreams become reality. Nina Reminders and the character in question are registered trademarks of Trailblazer Shipping, its affiliates, and its CEO, Neo.

Why do all this? What's the point?
The point, Chaosborn? Why do you wake up in the morning?
Because my family needs me.
No, you wake up because you just do... There is no hidden meaning.
Then what the hell are we living for?
I once asked myself the same question... Would you like to hear the answer I found?
..... No. I will find my own answer, right after I kill you.
Ha... You amuse me, boy. Do you honestly believe you can kill me? ME? The man who taught you everything?
I won't know until I try.
A good answer... Then show me. Prove to me you possess the strength to find your own path.

Do you guys remember the battle between Odin and Charon? This is a similar event, but as a dream sequence battle. You aren't required to win, but like the Charon battle, it has very real consequences. The way this battle works is a bit different. You will have to answer 5 questions about characters or events in UB. If you answer correctly, the RNG will be tipped in your favor for 1 turn. If you answer incorrectly, the RNG will favor your opponent for 1 turn. So, in other words, the battle hinges on these questions. If you answer all questions correctly, it is possible to win this battle in 5 turns.
Question #1
Over the course of the story thus far, how many playable characters have you lost in battle, or due to a result of your choices?
A: 4 B: 3 C: 6 D: 2 E: 0

B. Remember, we had 3 different characters to choose from. I can't remember if they were recruitable, though.
