(Continued)
Using the tip of your boot, you launch the spear into the air and catch it in your right hand. You study the spear for a moment, testing its weight and balance in your hands. The spear is surprisingly light, at least to you, and it feels familiar in your hands. Maybe you were a Lancer before you lost your memory?
"Ready?" Sonia asks, and you nod.
"Yeah. Let's hurry up and ditch this thing. I'm starving."
Sonia simply stares at you with a mixture of disbelief and awe. She then breaks out into a fit of giggles. "Fine, fine. Help me deal with this and I'll have Narshe whip you up a feast fit for a Dragon."
A... Dragon? Something stirs in the back of your mind, a pang of memory, and for a moment, you think you're on the verge of remembering.
The Ygses roars again and rams into the village wall, quite literally shaking you out of your thoughts. The gate grinds to a halt, only partially open, and Sonia wastes little time dashing through. You quickly follow her, and are rewarded with your first glimpse of a giant Ygses.
It looks like a Godtiger decided to mate with a Liger, and this... Thing was the result. The beast stood at least twenty feet tall, and it was fast as hell. Sparks of fire danced around it, flying out from its mane and ankles. At first glance, the beast appeared rabid but... Something seemed off... You don't know how, or why, but you can sense the beast's sorrow... You want to try and speak with it, but unfortunately, you never get the chance.
The Ygses rams into the wall again, but instead of backing off, it tries to leap the wall. The Ygses lands against the wall with a sound like a thunderclap, and it barely manages to hook its claws over the ledge of the wall. The Ygses struggles to climb the wall while being buffeted with spears and arrows, and you notice a flash of fear in Sonia's eyes.
She snaps, and unleashes a sudden barrage of powerful magic. The mighty bolt of lightning strikes the Ygses with incredible force, sending it sprawling to the ground. The Ygses yelps in surprise, and Sonia looses another and another, calling down lightning like a goddess of old.
Sonia's sudden outburst worries you. While it's true you haven't known her for that long, you do know she's usually much calmer than this, even in a difficult scenario. Something must be wrong.
The Ygses dodges Sonia's last attack with surprising agility, and howls in rage. Its flames suddenly intensify, changing from a normal red to a bright, ominous blue. Uh-oh... This doesn't look good.
Sonia's eyes widen and she steps back, clearly terrified. The Ygses charges, aiming straight for Sonia, and you react on instinct. Your body takes over, and you step in to meet the charge. Sonia cries out in alarm and falls back.
The Ygses opens its gaping maw, and you promptly wedge your spear between its jaws. The beast snaps and rages, but you push back with all your strength, to shocking results.
The spear snaps in two, and the beast is sent flying backwards. It crashes right through several trees, snapping them like twigs, before landing on the ground with an impact comparable to a meteor collision. The beast lays still, and for a moment, nothing happens. Then, it weakly rises to its feet, stares at you for a long moment, and limps away into the forest.
You look down at your hands in surprise, awed by your own strength, as Sonia hesitantly places a hand on your shoulder. "Nagi... What are you?"
"I don't know," you reply quietly, lowering your hands.
A crowd of people have formed at the gate, looking on at the scene in awe and fear. Then, abruptly, an earsplitting roar echoes through the sky, a sound unlike anything you could describe. Your eyes widen, and you look to the smoking mountain in the distance.
"The Mountain has awoken," the Elder explains, stepping out from the crowd. "You should come inside. It is not safe to remain outside the walls during the Harvest."

"How is he?" You ask Sonia, some time later, as you sit down for lunch with her, Eren, and the Elder.
Eren is unusually quiet, even somber, and Sonia is still visibly shaken. She gives a subtle nod, though she doesn't look up from her plate. "His wounds are severe... But... He should pull through. Tonight will be critical, so I'll need to stay with him..."
"Did he say anything about brother?" Eren asks suddenly, a note of desperation to her voice.
Sonia bites her lip. "Yes... But it isn't good. The patrol ran into something... Something we've never seen before. According to him, Jet classified it as a Class S Ancestor. Jet sent him back to warn the village, but he was attacked and severely wounded by the Ygses on the way."
Eren pales, but before she can speak, the Elder motions for silence."Baseless assumptions will only lead to sorrow, my child. We will form a rescue party on the morrow. But first, I think we owe our new Champion an explanation, no?"
New Champion? Does he mean you?
Sonia smiles slightly, and wipes her lips on a napkin. "Ah, right... Almost forgot. Sorry Nagi. I owe you at least that much."
You quickly shake your head, suddenly a little embarrassed. "No, no, it's fine Sonia. Really. I understand how stressed you must be."
She waves your words away, her smile widening. "But that's no reason to neglect my friend, is it? I'll start at the beginning. A very long time ago, our people came from a different land. We were outcasts, sailors, and nomads. The records of what exactly happened are unclear, but our people drifted ashore on a great island. The island was harsh and beautiful, full of giant beasts and lush vegetation. Our people made a pact with the goddess Aquarius, and we learned to live in harmony with these great beasts, what we now call the Ancestors. For centuries, our people flourished."
Sonia pauses her tale to take a quick drink of water. When she continues, she has a faraway, almost wistful look in her eyes. "But one day, the goddess Aquarius vanished, and the harmony our people worked so hard for was shattered. Mount Scar erupted, laying waste to the island and turning the seas red with lava and the skies black with soot. The Ancestors raged out of control, for weeks on end, and our once great civilization was reduced to ashes. Now... All that remains of our people are three villages; Naandia, Grisk, and Tortuga. We live in a shaky truce with the Ancestors, but for a couple weeks every year, the Ancestors lose control and attack everything and everyone in sight. No one knows why. It's just something we've learned to deal with. We call this period of time 'the Harvest'. In order to keep the village safe, we've built walls, and established patrols to scout the area during the Harvest. The largest patrol is formed of the village's strongest warriors, and led by the Head Hunter at the time."
"And that's your brother," you finish for her, and Sonia nods.
"Yes. But usually we don't have many encounters... Even the Main Patrol rarely encounters an Ancestor... I don't get it... What's so different this year?"
It's fairly obvious to you, at this point... The reason for all the abnormalities. "It's me, isn't it?"
Sonia opens her mouth to speak, likely to deny it, but she's cut off by the Elder. Wow... Deja vu. Like sister like sister, I guess.
"Yes, you're right," the Elder agrees, much to Sonia's shock. "There is one last part of the story Sonia didn't tell you. Before the Goddess disappeared, she passed down a prophecy. The prophecy states that one day, when the sea dries up and the mountain awakens, a new Guardian will appear. She will be known by the Mark of the Moon, and by the Miracles she brings. Mount Scar will erupt once more, blanketing the land in darkness and fire, and only by the grace of the Dragonchildren will the land once again know prosperity. Even now, as we speak, two of these signs have already come to pass."
Even Sonia seems surprised by this. "What do you mean? I understand the mountain awakening... We heard the Primal roar ourselves. But the sea seems just fine..."
The Elder shakes his head sadly. "You know better than any, my child. You were there yourself, Sonia, when the injured Sea Ancestor drifted into the shallows. More and more fish have been caught, already dead, and the boats don't bring back half as much as they used to."
"And you think I'm this 'Guardian'," you interject, unsure what to believe.
The Elder inclines his head, and abruptly rises from the table. "I do. But we can talk more in depth later. You two should rest for a spell. Tomorrow is a big day, after all."
He calmly exits the room, grinning slightly, leaving you and Sonia blinking at each other.

Sonia yawns as she rises from the table. "Eren, come help me with the dishes."
"Yes mom," Eren grumbles, reluctantly collecting the dishes.
You chuckle a bit. It must be nice... To have a family like this. As Eren and Sonia leave to clean, you lean back in your chair, and your mind begins to wander. Do you have a family? Parents? Siblings? And if so... Why can't you remember?
"Hey Nagi, you okay?" Eren asks suddenly, peering out from the kitchen doorway.
You give a motherly smile, and nod. "Don't worry about me, Eren. I'm fine."
She smiles shyly and returns to helping her sister. Watching the two banter back and forth leaves you with a strange feeling in your chest. It almost feels like... Loneliness? Or... Something stronger?
You instinctively clutch your chest. Wait... Do I have children? Is that what I'm feeling? Am I missing my own children? I don't think I'm that old... But there's no denying what I'm feeling...
"So, ready to ditch?"
You look up at Sonia in surprise, as she dries her hands and walks over, grinning. She stops behind you and leans down to wrap her arms around your neck. "Ready to ditch what?" You ask, admittedly a little confused.
She giggles. "Why, this place of course. Eren's feeling like a good girl for once, so she promised to take care of the dishes herself, as long as I pay her back in the future. C'mon, I know just the thing to cheer you up."
"Oh? What's that?" You ask curiously, as Sonia practically drags you to your feet.
Sonia's eyes actually sparkle. Wow... You haven't seen this side of her yet.
"Shopping, obviously!" She squeals in delight. "Trust me, you'll feel much better afterwards. Besides, we'll need to get you your own weapon and armor, since you're coming with me tomorrow. I mean, you're beautiful in those robes and all... I'd be happy if you kept them. But you're mostly a physical fighter, aren't you? You'll need something with a bit more defensive oomph."
That's right... The Elder wants you to be on the rescue team tomorrow. And she does have a point... It probably wouldn't be too wise to rely on your fists. You nod, and follow the overly excited Sonia outside.
The midday sun is warm, but not harsh, and a cool breeze drifts in from the Sea. The sky overhead is a clear cerulean, free of clouds and smoke, which is a stark contrast to an hour ago. You don't see any trace of the Volcano's awakening. Sonia leads you through town, towards the open market in the southern half, though she stops to say hello to everyone on the way. You notice the villagers look at you a bit differently now. Since the incident with the Ygses, rumors of you being the Guardian have spread like wildfire, and most people look at you with a hint of reverence.
Eventually, you reach Naandia's great market, which consists of several different stalls and various merchants. Sonia leads you to a single stall, though it seems more like an Armory than a merchant stall.
"Hey Lan!" Sonia calls out cheerfully, and the merchant looks up from a piece of armor he was polishing. His face lights up like a star. "Lady Sonia! How wonderful to see you again. Fancy another Mend Staff?"
She shakes her head. "Nah, I'm good. We're looking for some armor and a new spear for my friend here."
The merchant called Lan turns to you, and his eyes widen slightly. "Ah yes... You're Lady Nagi, correct? I wasn't there myself, but I heard how you saved Lady Sonia. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Do you know your armor sizes?"
You give a brief, polite bow. "You don't have to thank me, good sir. All I did was help my friend. But I'm afraid I don't know my sizes... Or much else about myself, really."
He smiles kindly. "Ah, so the rumors are true... My apologies milady. It's fine. If you'll permit me, I can determine your sizes in a jiffy."
You nod, and he steps out from behind the stall, carrying a long string with notches at spaced intervals. While he measures you, you look over what armor and weapons you can see. They seem to be well made, and quite durable. A couple pieces catch your eye... You see armor that resembles that of a Great Lord, but made of different materials, with a red and black color scheme, and a black shoulder cape. You also notice a set of armor that resembles the traditional garb of a Hero, except it seems to be pure silver, and some lighter armor that's completely different. This last armor seems to be made out of a monster's hide, and it's colored and patterned to resemble fire. The armor seems... A little skimpy, to be honest, and it certainly doesn't look like it will provide much protection. The chest piece would leave your stomach exposed, and the gauntlets appear to be little more than leather wrapping. The gloves and boots seem to be made out of white fur, however, and the leggings appear sturdy... The helm is shaped like the head of a white tiger, and it has a long white mane that adds a majestic feel to the helm.
Sonia notices you looking, and grins mischievously. "Oh, so that's your style... Like to live dangerously, do you? Believe it or not, that armor is made from the hide and fur of a Godtiger. It doesn't restrict movement, and it gives decent protection. Well, assuming you don't get hit in the stomach."
Finished, Lan steps back and nods in approval. "All done. If you don't mind me saying, you have the body of a warrior, milady. I have several pieces that will fit you, including the three you were admiring. I also have a decent assortment of lances. As my way of thanking you for protecting Lady Sonia, I'll give you your choice of armor and weapon for free."
You open your mouth to object, but Sonia cuts you off. "Thank you, Lan! I know Nagi wouldn't dream of turning down your generosity! Right, Nagi?"
You sigh, and smile slightly. "Right... Wouldn't dream of it. That would be rude, after all."
Hmm... But what will you choose?
A: The Countess Set- Countess Tiara(+5 Def, +10 Res. Grants 100% immunity to Berserk, Silence, and Confusion. Halves dark damage), Countess Plate(+20 Def, +12 Res. Grants the Aegis+ skill. Note: This will be the only armor Nagi gets until you recruit her, so choose wisely. She will however find a special weapon that is only for her during the Paralogue. If you find and defeat a Godtiger with Nagi while wearing the Godtiger equipment, you have a small chance to recruit said Godtiger. Once recruited, you will be able to name the Godtiger, and Nagi will gain the ability to call him/her to aid her in battle. During battle, the Godtiger will function the same way as a PC, and you can raise the Godtiger's level like any normal character. However, after the battle, the Godtiger will leave again.
Godtiger's Might: This skill allows it's user to drastically increase their strength and speed, but only against one enemy per battle. Base Str and Spd are increased by 20 Points.

I'm torn between A3 and C3. But it wouldn't make any difference to vote A at this point, so C3.

So, it's a tie between C2 and C3. Since C is obviously going to win, I'm going to go ahead and lock it in. And that just leaves 2 or 3... Tiebreaker anyone?
While we wait, I'll tell you guys what makes the beasties on Cozumel so big and bad. Every 'Ancestor', or Epic Monster on Cozumel has a last resort, final ditch skill that only activates when they're below 20% health or they have taken sufficient damage and become 'Enraged'. The effects of this skill vary greatly, but usually, it's something like a drastic boost to stats or a final damaging attack. During the Ygses scene(Yes, that was a cutscene battle), when the Ygses changed its fire to blue fire, that was it becoming enraged. In a real battle, the Ygses would have had all stats boosted by 20, and it would have halved all damage inflicted on it.
And that's actually one of the tamer skills...

Armor made from a Godtiger, huh... I don't think it's exactly my style, but I'd much prefer it to heavy armor...
"I'll take the Godtiger armor then," you tell the merchant.
He beams, clearly elated, though Sonia seems legitimately surprised. "Consider it yours, milady! It's a fine set, my pride and joy. It will serve you well, of that I have no doubt. Plus, I'm sure the Guardian walking around in my armor will help draw some business back..."
Ah, so that's why he's so excited... Well, you can hardly blame him. Even merchants have to live. Lan gathers your new armor and places it in a large paper bag, while you choose your new weapon. This second choice proves much simpler. You lift the golden spear into your hands, and test it's weight. You turn around to take a practice jab at the air, and find the spear surprisingly light and easy to wield. It's similar to the spear you used against the Ygses, but it's sturdier and stronger, and it's made much better. It also seems to possess a slight magical aura.
You graciously accept the bag from your new merchant friend, along with the leather shoulder sling for your spear. After thanking him once more, Sonia leads you back into the thick of the market. The two of you browse the stalls like old friends, talking about everything from the weather to the various species of monsters indigenous only to Cozumel. Eventually, you wind up at the beach, where both you and Sonia kick off your boots, lay down and bury your feet in the warm sand. The tide rolls in, washing over your toes, and a cool breeze drifts in from the Sea. The few fishermen still at the port call out friendly greetings, which you happily return. All in all, it was a beautiful day.
Still... Why do you feel so... Uneasy? The pit of dread in your stomach... It hasn't gone away since that Serpent spoke to you.
"Hey Nagi... Why don't you stay here? In Naandia, I mean. It's a good place to live. And there are plenty of nice guys, if you want to settle down."
You turn to Sonia in surprise, unsure what to say. Finally, you decide on the truth. "That sounds... Nice, Sonia. But... I think some things are starting to come back to me. And well... I can't recover the rest of my memories if I stay here, now can I?"
She nods, clearly disappointed, but she still smiles. "Oh... Yeah, you're right. It wouldn't be fair of me to ask you to stay, when you still have to find your own past. I just... I don't have many friends, you know? I have so many responsibilities, and so many people depend on me... I have to be strong. Graceful. Wise. I never get to be myself, except around my brother... You would like him. I could introduce you, if you want."
You smile kindly, though beneath your smile, her words sadden you. The poor girl... She's just lonely. "I would like that," you reply honestly. "But before you try to hook us up, you should know something."
Sonia gives you a guilty smile. "Aww... You saw through me that easily. No fair. He's a good guy, I promise. Handsome too. Wait... Don't tell me you're already taken?!"
You giggle a bit, and lean back to look up at the wide blue sky. "Actually... I think I am. I remembered a name a little while ago... I can't recall his face yet... But his name alone... It invoked feelings within me, so warm and strong, like the Sun exploded in my chest. And... When I watched you and Eren interact at lunch, I realized... That I have children too. It was just another feeling at first, but now I'm certain. I have a daughter and a son. That's why I can't stay, Sonia. I have to find my children. And... I have to find him. My Ethan..."
Sonia is quiet for a long moment. "Wow... How am I supposed to convince you to stay after that? I'm not gonna lie, it's a bit mind blowing. You really don't look that old... Late twenties at most. But I believe you. I could tell there was something different about you the moment we met... When you jumped into the net with me, without hesitation or fear, with that look in your eyes, I knew... I knew you were someone special. Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if you really did turn out to be the Guardian."
Again, you find yourself at a loss for words. Sonia leaps to her feet, suddenly regaining her usual cheer. "Okay. That's enough heart twisting for one day. I'm gonna need some chocolate at this rate."
"Chocolate?" You ask curiously.
Sonia looks at you like you just spoke gibberish. "No way... Please tell me you haven't forgotten chocolate."
You think for a moment, and blink. "Hmm... No, I don't think so... Usually words come to me quite easily."
Sonia gives you a stricken, horrified look. "You mean to tell me you've never had chocolate before?"
You nod, a little confused by Sonia's horrified expression. Before you can even react, she reaches down and hauls you to your feet. "Hey!" You object, more amused than offended, as your friend drags you back towards the town. You barely have enough time to grab your new armor and weapon.
"What about our shoes?!" You whimper, maybe just a bit pathetically.
"Shoes can wait," Sonia says fiercely, giving you a terrifying grin. "Chocolate first. Come. We're going to see Narshe."
You dutifully follow along behind her, too perplexed to argue. What in the world is chocolate?

Wait... What? Nagi said her son was called Ethan... But Ethan is Trail's son! And it said that Trail's wife was blonde, and not a manakete before... I'm confused... Is it a different Ethan?

Nagi listed finding her children and finding Ethan as two separate goals, implying that they are not one and the same. Given what we know so far, I'm betting on Ethan being her kids' father.
