No Uber Skill Boost? You sure? Alright, I mean, it's up to you. But you can't exactly have OP Leah without her Elemental skills. Unless of course you want to bench some of her current skills. I'm taking a nap, will update when I wake.

"Wait Leah," Kara says quickly, reaching out to stop you, as you take a step forward. "Before we go any further, we should prepare."
You give her a quizzical look. "Prepare for what?"
Instead of answering, Kara points towards the giant stone demons in the near distance, and your eyes widen in realization. "You mean we have to fight those things?!"
"I'm afraid so," Dol confirms. "That is, if we want to proceed into the Inner Sanctum."
You give him your best angry kitten 'I'm going to kill you' glare. "And you didn't think to mention this before... Because?"
"I was going to," he replies, ignoring your death glare. "When we got here. But Kara beat me to it."
Okay. You are so going to throttle him now. You begin to stomp over with the intention of doing just that, but you don't get very far, before Lazzy pulls you back. You growl threateningly at Dol from the cage that is Lazzy's arms. The clueless dark knight merely gawks at you in disbelief.
"Now now," Lazzy chides playfully. "Let's all play nice. No murdering comrades today, okay Leah?"
You bite his arm. Not hard enough to break the skin or draw blood, but hard enough to let him know his kitten is very displeased. He yelps in surprise. "Fine," you concede. "I'll murder him later. Now, how do you suggest we prepare?" You ask, turning to Kara.
She ponders this for a few moments. "Well... I remember a story, a legend really, about the last group of heroes who challenged the Twin Guardians. This was way back, long before my father merged with Belial, when this led to the original Belial's Throne Room. According to the story, the heroes tricked the Guardians into fighting them one at a time, and then exploited their weaknesses of magic and demon weapons to defeat them."
Hmm... Magic and demon weapons... Well, you certainly have plenty of those. You squirm out of Lazzy's arms, casually unhooking the magic bag from his belt as you do so. His jaw drops, and you giggle slightly. "Close your mouth Lazzy. It's impolite."
While he shakes his head and sighs, you begin rummaging around in the bottomless pit of a bag, trying to find... Ah, there it is! You pull out the enchanted emerald armor you found in Belial's treasure chamber, and toss it to Kara. She clumsily catches it, giving you a shocked look.
"You aren't invincible anymore, right?" You ask, the tone of your voice suggesting your reasoning should be obvious. "I'll feel better if you're protected. And that armor seems like a nice fit for you."
Kara softens and thanks you, and you return to digging through the void. Next, you come up with one of the twin demon swords you found before, the Muramassa, and reluctantly toss it to Dol, who catches it effortlessly. "I'm still going to murder you," you say flatly. "And you better not break that. Or I'll find you in Hel and murder you again. And don't think I can't."
Lastly, you remove a small vial of clear liquid, that you also found in the treasure chamber. You quickly down it, and hand the bag back to Lazzy. "There. All ready. Let's go."
Thinking on Kara's advice, instead of unsheathing one of your swords, you ready the dark tome Dhaos gave you. Oddly enough, you felt more in tune with the magic now.

Note: As a Elemental, Leah gains a bonus +2 Mag and Res when wielding elemental tomes.

"WHO DARES TO TRESPASS IN THE HOME OF LORD BELIAL!!!!"
You flinch and clutch your ears, as the stone giants come to life, and bark at you in unison. The combined force of their voices alone shakes dirt loose from the ceiling. No wonder those ancient heroes forced these two to separate... Fighting them both head on would be suicide. Here's to hoping you can do the same...
You summon all of your courage and pride, and you summon all the power you can muster. The power of Dhaos, your friend, the power of your true self, the power of the King of Heroes, the power of the race who gifted you with their knowledge... You bring all these to bear, and you're a bit surprised by the outcome. For once, all of your powers flow freely, turning you into something dark and terrible. Something far more dangerous or terrifying than even Belial.
Your skin turns a deep midnight, your eyes alternating between souless black and bright gold. Your hair turns to dark fire, fire of the deepest shadows. Black and crmison lightning crackle furiously about your form, and gale force winds whip about the room. A golden aura envelops your body, a terrifying aura of unknown power, and you rise into the air like a goddess of destruction. You speak, and your echoing voice far outstrips that of the two giants.
"I am Empress of the night, Avatar of Darkness, and Mistress of Shadow. I am King of Heroes, and Wind of Fate. I am last of the Elementals, and confidant of the Dragon King. I am wife to the God of Fire, and daughter to the Lord of Madness. I am the Bringer of Time, and the Final Weapon of Heaven. I am Ultima, and I am destruction. Step aside, or return to dust."
The winds and lightning intensify, before suddenly ceasing. You slowly, gracefully return to the ground, and your maelstrom of power gradually subsides, returning you to normal. Hopefully your little show of force had an effect, because you really had to improvise for that little monologue... And you don't think you can summon all that power again, at least not yet...
The twin giants both simply blink at you, before one of them bursts into great, bellowing laughter. "You? You're going to give me an order? That little lightshow of yours doesn't bother me. I'll squash you under my foot like the little kitten you are."
"What did you just call me?" You ask, your voice deadly quiet. Your eyes narrow dangerously. "No one calls me a kitten unless they earn the right!" You scream, all trace of the former plan gone. There is a quick movement of your hands and lips, a movement far too quick for any eye to catch, and a tremendous blast from Naglfar slams into the stone giant, slamming it against the very door it's guarding. You follow it up with another blast, nearly sending the giant toppling to its knees.
"Well?!" You shriek, as the giant struggles to stand. "Still think you can squash me?! Just try it! I dare you!"
The wounded giant bellows in rage, a roar that shakes the chamber like an Earthquake. He would have charged right then and there, if the other giant hadn't held him back. "Wait brother! We must attack together! You witnessed the power of this one, we cannot risk failure!"
The first giant sways, seemingly convinced, at least until you give a bitter laugh. "Oh, that's rich! Two big bad giants ganging up on a little girl! I thought you said you could squash me?! How pathetic! You need your brother to help you defeat a tiny little kitten?!"
The giant snaps. It bellows once more, and brings it's massive Halberd down in an attempt to cleave you in two. However, it only meets air, as you dissolve into the shadows. You materialize a moment later, then teleport to Lazzy's side. This only serves to embolden the giant, who stupidly thinks you're running away, and he charges after you. Alone.
"So what's the plan?" Lazzy asks quickly. "Team up and overwhelm him, or fight separately and keep him distracted?"
You...
A: Team up and meet the charge head on(Choose who pairs up with who). B: Fight separately, focus on dealing damage. Lazzy shifts into Lava Form and attacks head on, supported by Dol. Leah and Kara stay back, and focus on striking from afar with magic. C: Fight separately, focus on staying out of range. D(Anna Roulette): Attempt to pit the two brothers against each other, and sneak by in the chaos.
Note: Option D has a 50/50 chance at succeeding. If it fails, you will have to fight both giants at once.

As it turns out, you don't have to order anyone. The stone giant barrels forward, boasting how it's going to slaughter you and roast your bones- among other even more disgusting things- and it sends Lazzy flying into a full blown rage. He shifts into his true form, and charges, meeting the giant head on. The encounter doesn't favor the giant so well, who is sent stumbling backwards and nearly falls. Dol joins the fray not long after, swinging up onto Lazzy's back. For once, Lazzy doesn't object to someone other than you riding him... Which shows just how pissed he really is.
While Lazzy keeps the dumb giant busy, you quickly turn to Kara. "Ready?" You ask, grinning. "Let's fill this thing full of holes."
Kara nods, returning your grin, and raises her hand to the sky just as you ready Naglfar. The giant tries to pin Lazzy down, but he proves far too fast. He effortlessly dodges a blow that would have levelled a mountain, and rams the giant full force, right into its knee. Dol follows up with a fierce slash from Muramassa, cleaving through the hard stone of the giant's leg like butter. It roars in agony, and falls to its knees.
The second giant finally decides to intervene, but the effort is too little too late. Lazzy unleashes a devastating torrent of blue flame right at the giant's ugly mug, which is joined by a bolt of dark lightning from above, and another stone-cleaving slash from Muramassa. The giant screams, a terrifying, guttural sound, and amazingly enough, it manages to stumble back to its feet. However, not for long.
You raise Naglfar high, and a bright golden aura envelopes your hand. "Serves you right!" You yell, as the massive explosion of dark energy sends the giant hurtling backwards, and crashing into the other.
Well, that was surprisingly easy... Hopefully you can keep this streak going.

"So... I take it you aren't just going to let us pass?" You ask hopefully, though you're afraid you know the answer.
The second giant roars in outrage as the first crumbles into dust, its previous assessment of your strength forgotten. Yeah... You thought so. You unleash a preemptive blast from Naglfar, and to your astonishment, the giant shrugs off your attack like it's nothing. You follow it up with a second attempt, and this time your hand glows.
"Enough!" You bark, frustrated. "We don't have time for this!"
The same attack that killed the first giant only makes this one stumble. You growl in annoyance, as a bolt of black lightning bounces harmlessly off the giant's hide. The giant levels its halberd as if to throw it, and it takes you a second to realize the intended target isn't you. You cry out to warn Lazzy, only to realize he's perfectly fine on his own. Instead of hurling the halberd like a two ton Javelin, the giant lunges, in an attempt to impale Lazzy. He can't seem to dodge in time, but the attack inflicts no noticeable damage. It does however throw Lazzy and Dol backwards several feet, which is a good thing, in a odd way. It means you can regroup easier.
You rush to Lazzy's side, and kick Dol out of the proverbial saddle. "Keep Kara safe!" You shout, climbing onto Lazzy's shoulders. "We'll handle this!"
Dol appears all too happy to obey, and even gives you a slight imperial bow. You can't quite tell if he's mocking you or not.
"Ready, Leah?" Lazzy thunders, grinning slightly.
You nod. "When am I ever not? Let's send this chunk of rock back down under."
Once again, giant and god collide in a titanic impact, and once again, the giant finds himself on the losing side.

Glacier Cave BF1
"I-It's f-freezing in here," Terra grumbles, rubbing her arms. "Phoenixes aren't meant for this kind of cold... Lord Lazareth better appreciate this."
Terra holds her mother's tome, Purgatory, close to her chest as she follows the surprisingly linear pathway. The tome's warmth does a great deal to alleviate the biting cold. It was rather quiet in the icy cave, but the silence wasn't eerie or ominous. It was actually quite... Serene. This serenity was disturbed only be the occasional sound of dripping water. The cavern walls were actually very pretty- the purest blue ice she has ever seen- and when the light reflected off the ice, the light turned into almost visible beams, bouncing back and forth. Terra would have really enjoyed the brief trek, if it wasn't so dammed cold.
The narrow path soon opens up into a much larger cavern, with glinting icicles and three separate tunnels, leading deeper into the icy depths. Only one problem... Which way is she supposed to go?
------------
The giant stumbles backwards, and you don't give him the opportunity to recover. Lazzy unleashes a massive meteor from his gaping maw, and the attack slams into the giant with such force it sends him sprawling to the ground. You capitalize on the chance, loosing a blast from Naglfar, crushing the giant into the ground. It roars with rage, and Lazzy leaps high into the air, his claws glowing gold, clearly meaning to end the battle now. "Burn to nothing!"
You hold on for dear life as Lazzy plummets down like a falling star, crushing the giant's skull with titanic force. Lazzy's claws then glow a fierce silver, and he delivers a devastating blow to the giant's face before leaping away, leaving him writhing on the ground.
"Let's finish this," you say darkly.
Lazzy grins, an unsettling grin that would make a Berserker proud. "Right. We have a date with the devil to attend."

The giant barely even makes it to his feet before you send him into the Void to join his brother. You raise Naglfar high, and you feel a surge of power well up inside you. Your hands glow a fierce gold, and the all-consuming blast of dark magic reduces the giant to dust. Literally. You dismount from Lazzy's back, and he shifts back into human form. Immediately, the massive gate emits a kind of humming sound, glowing an ominous purple. The gate then creaks open on its own, revealing a blinding white light from beyond.
"So... I guess that's our invitation?" You ask rhetorically, a bit disappointed. You were expecting some grand unveiling. That was... Very anticlimactic.
"Yes," Kara replies, her voice thick and heavy. "We should hurry. It's not wise to linger here for long."
You turn to your friend, concerned. Is she... Panting? Okay, now you're even more concerned. "Kara? You okay?"
She nods. "Yeah... I'll be fine. Just... A bit tired."
Damn... She must already be feeling the effects of the Heart... "Maybe we should stay here until Terra can retrieve the Guardstone," you suggest.
Kara shakes her head. "No, that won't work... Belial would grow suspicious. No, we must press on. Don't worry, I'll be fine. If my sister can do it, so can I."
"Your sister?" You ask curiously. "That hag who tried to kill us? Er... No offense."
She smiles. "None taken. How do you think she became so powerful? My sister once traveled to the very center of the Heart. When she came back... She was like a different being. I still remember that day..."
You notice a hint of sadness in Kara's voice, and you move to comfort her. "Not to interrupt," Lazzy says suddenly. "But we should probably leave."
"You aren't going anywhere."
--------
Terra was on the verge of simply guessing when something caught her eye. A brief flicker of light, almost like a silhouette of a person, in the far left tunnel. Taking this as a sign, she follows the mysterious light.

You whirl around at the unexpected voice, a voice that sounds horribly familiar, only to find yourself face to face with a knight clad in midnight armor, the very one who stood guard outside the temple when you first arrived. But how...? Lazzy blocked the only path! No one should have been able to get past that!
"You!" Lazzy growls, summoning his golden axe from thin air.
"Me," the Dol lookalike answers. "I must commend you. That little barricade of yours had me running all over the place. I had to use the old tunnels to even attempt to follow you. But, alas for you, here I am. And I'm afraid I can't allow you to go any further."
"Don't be a fool boy," Lazzy scoffs. "You really think you're a match for me? Let alone all of us? You wouldn't stand a snowflake's chance in Helheim."
The knight shrugs nonchalantly. "Maybe. Guess we'll find out, eh?"
Odd... You're getting a very different vibe from him this time. Much more... Menacing. It's like he's a completely different person. "You would truly impede us, old friend?" Dol says suddenly, and from his familiar tone, you deduce the two must know each other. "Even with Lady Kara here? It is to her you owe your allegiance, not Belial."
"I'm afraid it's not that simple old friend," he responds angrily. "You know that as well as I."
Dol shakes his head sadly and sighs. To your shock, he returns Muramassa to you and draws his own blade, before stepping out in front your group. "Go," Dol says firmly, as calm as ice. "I will handle this. The rest of you go stop Belial. Put an end to his madness, once and for all."
Your eyes widen, and Kara nearly has a break down. "NO!!!" She screams, her voice a mixture of anger, fear, and resolve. "I am NOT leaving you behind!"
You suddenly get a strong sense of déjà vu. "Go!" Dol orders, this time more strongly. Then, seeing Kara on the verge of tears, he softens. "Have faith in me, Kara. I will return to you. As long as you think of me, as long as you hold me in your heart... I cannot fail. And I will not fall. Lady Leah, Lord Lazareth... You both know this is our best option. The gate will not stay open long. Soon, it will close, and if it does... Any hope of defeating Belial is gone. I trust you two to look after the woman I love. Now, I ask you to trust me to handle this."
Lazzy gives a reluctant nod. "Very well. It was an honor to fight alongside you."
Dol returns the gesture, and to your astonishment, he removes his helmet. Your eyes widen and you gasp. Looking back at you is the face of a good friend, with short wavy brown hair and dark brown eyes. Lazzy's eyes widen in recognition as well, and Dolin smiles. "The honor was all mine, Lord Lazareth. May we meet again in the next life."
As you stand there, your mind reeling, the gate begins to close. Lazzy immediately banishes his axe and scoops a sobbing Kara into his arms, yelling to you, snapping you out of your shock. You rush after him, habitually scooping up two shiny objects from the giant dustpile- pun intended- and leap through the closing gate, a second after Lazzy. The gate then shuts, with a bitter pang of finality, leaving you in a world of silence. A world at the very Heart of All Things.

So was Dol only a temporary character? Or can he survive and join later?
Will Erhard have to compete with him?

So was Dol only a temporary character? Or can he survive and join later? Will Erhard have to compete with him? Dol can join later, but it is quite difficult to recruit him. You must get Dolin-as in wannabe playboy/actor/Drakkian Commander Dolin- and Kara to A rank, have Kara participate in 500 battles, and complete the ten star Sidequest Paradise Lost. This in turn will unlock the time travel quest Lost Souls, in which you can recruit Dol, providing you've already met Tiamat and the Council and have unlocked the ability to time travel. Erhard probably won't have to compete with him, as you can't even unlock Paradise Lost until Chapter 22.

The Heart of All Things, BF1
"What… What is this place?" You breathe in disbelief, gawking at the landscape before you. Your small party stands on a lone walkway, a bridge of rock and bone that spirals and twists like a serpent. The air is heavy, almost like mountain air, the sky-if you can even call it that- is a mixture of shimmering colors, purple and pink one moment, then red and blue the next. Gravity seemed different here too, likely because there's a lot less of it.
"I'm pretty sure this is the Heart," Lazzy replies dryly, gently setting Kara down. The poor thing is still in a state of shock, and you can't blame her. But you'll need her to be at a hundred percent, if you hope to succeed.
You glare at Lazzy, silently telling him to tone the sarcasm down, before approaching Kara. "Kara sweetie? I understand how you must be feeling-"
"How! How could you possibly understand!" Kara shrieks suddenly, bursting into tears again. "He... He was my only friend! For years, he was all I had! And... And... Just like that, he's gone! I didn't even get a chance to say goodbye! Heavens above, I loved him!! So don't say you understand! Because you don't! No one does!"
Kara sinks back into Lazzy's arms, sobbing, and you steal a glance at him. "I do know what it's like," you reply softly. "To have your whole world turned upside down so suddenly you're left spinning. I lost my entire family in the span of a day. I've seen countless people die on the battlefield, people I couldn't protect, some even friends. I've almost lost Lazzy, what, a dozen times now? So I do understand Kara. Believe me, I truly do. I know the helplessness and loneliness you're feeling right now, the sorrow and rage. The regret. The need, the thought, that if you could just do it over again, if you had a second chance, then everything would be different. I know the betrayal you feel, and the sudden loss of purpose. But you aren't alone Kara. When I went through this, Trail was there for me. He gave me a home, and a family. He gave me my life back. And now, I'm going to do the same for you."
Leah hesitantly joins in on the hug, turning it into a nice group hug. "I'll be your family from now on. What do you say Kara? Kara Silvarant has a nice ring to it, don't you think?"
Her tears abruptly stop, and she blinks at you, as you pull away. "I think I'm a little old to be your daughter, Leah."
You can't help but giggle. "That may be so. But it's the thought that counts, right? Or you could be my Great-Great Granny, if you prefer."
Kara laughs too, just a small one, but it's a step in the right direction. "Thanks, but I think I'll pass. Um... On being your granny I mean! I um... I wouldn't mind being your daughter..."
You smile and open your mouth to reply, when you notice his presence. Damn him! Why now?! Is that psychotic little s*** really going to appear now, when Kara is already traumatized?!
"As touching as this little scene is, Kara already has a father. And it's high time she came home."
----------
"Wait, slow down!" Terra yells after the spirit, panting. She really needed to exercise more.
The spirit vanishes around another bend, and as Terra follows suit, she finds herself in a resplendent cavern, filled with beautiful crystals and flowers growing from the ice. The spirit finally stops, turning to face her, a woman clad entirely in white.

"You are not my father," Kara growls, wiping her eyes. She steps out of Lazzy's embrace, though you still stand in front of her, protectively shielding her. "And this is my home," she says with a smile, placing her hand on your arm.
Belial's eyes darken, and any trace of the court jester has vanished, leaving only the Dark Lord behind. "Then it seems you leave me no choice. I will just have to take you back by force!"
Belial vanishes into thin air, but not before summoning a whole horde of monsters. "I will wait for you at the end! If you make it to me alive, then I will gladly reveal the truth to you, right before I grant you the honor of dying at my hands!"
Only the monsters remain behind, turning their focus on you. Crimson Morgalls, Deathgoyles, and a few Risen Griffin Riders, looks like. Nothing you can't handle. "Hey Lazzy? Keep Kara safe. I can handle these jokers on my own."
You casually walk forward, unleashing a blast from Naglfar as you do so, effortlessly scattering the first group of gargoyles and Risen. C'mon. Let's see what you got.
------
"What are you trying to tell me?" Terra asks the spirit, who was motioning wildly at the ground.
The spirit suddenly vanishes, and Terra gasps.

Apology Bump. I've been tired a lot recently(blame life), and unfortunately, I'm experiencing a little bit of writer's block. I know exactly how everything is going to happen, I just can't put it into words. Don't worry, I'll get over it soon. So, while we're waiting... What are you guys looking forward to in UB? What are your thoughts about what to do next? We've got the Idoun supports coming up next camp, and some sidequests, but these particular sidequests are fairly short. What then? Go meet Tiamat? Recruit Grima or Atlas? Finish the sidequests we already got? Continue the story? It's all up to you.
