So, after several hunting with varying degrees of success, on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being total newbie and 10 being semi-competent, what do you guys think of my MH skills so far?

If 10 is semi-competent, then I'd say you're a 9 or 10 already. I've seen a lot of crappy players in my day, most of which were far worse than you and had much more experience to boot.
In fact, I hunted with a group of randoms a few times early this morning, and let me just say, I'd much rather be hunting with you and Golurk, GX. And these were supposed 'experts'.
Now, I'm not the best hunter ever(As you saw earlier), but I like to think I'm pretty good. And I got that way solely on experience, GX. That's all you need. And I have a feeling, that once you have that experience, you'll be a great hunter.
With that in mind, ready to continue? Tigrex is next.

Yeah, he hits like a Mac Truck and is as fast as a racecar. Be very careful of his rushes, and be even more careful of his rage mode. In rage mode, he will easily two-shot you. And he can combo you.
This is your first real monster and will be your first real test as a hunter. Unlike Magala, who is only really dangerous in rage mode, Tigrex is always dangerous.

However, Tigrex doesn't have nearly as much health as Magala. Tigrex also tends to slip and fall a lot.

Oddly enough, I soloed Berserk Tigrex without getting hit once. But this one gave me serious trouble... We still won though! Great job GX!
You saved my hide by mounting him that one time. If you hadn't, he would have killed me. I need to take a break for a while though. I'll come back when you and Golurk go hunting.

Can you explain WHY you have a mild-to-extreme contempt for Elementals? Because we both feel it's very similar to Austur. Like, too similar. I have no problem with Spitz or more RPs, or even Elementals if it significantly differentiates itself from Austur. That's why I simply want a chance to explain the similarities to Spitz without seeming rude. If he's aware of the similarities, I'm sure he'll decide to distance itself from Austur as planning continues, and that way we'll have a new, distinct RP. *Fails to see connection* So you guys are mildly annoyed at it because...? |
