He'd just accidentally steal the artifact of doom and use it as a wall hanger, or start a world war by giving Kaim some bad advice. Maybe impregnate the wrong Pseudohuman hive queen.

That would vary so much from time and place that giving a flat value to a gold coin is absurd. Which is why RPGs keep it simple... A gold coin is worth "1," "100," or "1000" depending on whether copper and silver are accepted as well. Why does the value remain constant across days and continents? A wizard did it. |
