"Ha you want my name?" Van spits out. "I go by many names, but you 'lich' may refer to me as Van," was what he responded with. "So you wish to talk to me?" Van responded with. "Go ahead but know this I have little patience for people who waste my time," Van said with his voice in a hissing manner. "You have been warned 'friend'," was the last thing Van thought.

Vincent resisted the urge to scoff as Silver relayed the vampire's words. Do not presume to think yourself my equal, vampire. Surely you must sense the difference in power between us, that I am no ordinary Lich. You could no more harm me than harm the night. I could obliterate you with a mere thought, but that is not my intention. Tell me, what is your ambition? What do you live for?

"It's funny you think I am weak just because my other side is so nice and eager to please like a little puppy," Van laughed. "I will answer your question my 'lord', because I wouldn't want to upset you" Van responded. "Why don't you ask your other half that question?" Van said. "Both you and that fool Baron like to keep your 'dark' side under control," said Van. "You call us beast, monsters, or in your case relaspses," Van said. " Your afraid of your own self and you don't understand why," Van communicated. "This moron can attest when I took over I might have scared Catie and Sam to death but I didn't lay a finger on them," Van responded. "Let me ask you when you 'relapsed' did you ever think of hurting that 'lizard' over there you call Silver?" Van responded.
"What do I 'live' for?" Van said. "I live for combat and strength so I can prove I am more than a voice," Van said. "Baron thinks he's alone don't make me laugh," Van said. "I am sure your other half would agree, you and Baron have bodies and remain in 'control' of us monsters," Van said. "Yet, you don't know what true loneliness is," Van yelled. "Try being a prisoner in your own body unable to do anything until your other half gives you permission or you 'slip up'," Van yelled. "I can not tell you what I live for because, until Baron let's me take over out of desperation, I am nothing more then a mere voice inside his head," Van responded in a voice filled mostly rage but a tiny hint of sorrow. "Do you have any other questions for me lich or are we done here?" Van responded with.

Vincent grins slightly. Oh, how interesting... Silver seemed quite taken aback by the vampire's words, as she relayed them telepathically.
You intrigue me, vampire. But you also misunderstand me. That is my fault however, as I have not properly explained myself. My apologies. My other half... Is not as reasonable, as you are Van. You posses a level of thought and Intelligence beyond most, you know. It's quite impressive. However, I am not as lucky as Baron. My dark side, as you call it, is like a force of nature. Unreasonable. Unfeeling. It would destroy everything in its path without mercy or remorse, like a tsunami, or hurricane. Even my loved ones. But again, do not misunderstand me. My goal is not to keep my other half leashed. Quite the contrary, in fact. I seek the knowledge to truly merge both sides of my being into one, so that I may finally be whole. Unfortunately, if my other side is set free, it would equate to the end of the world. I can't exactly seek out this knowledge, if I unwittingly destroy the world, now can I? You may choose to believe me or not, that is well within your rights. But what if I told you I could help you? Think of the situation from Baron's point of view for a moment. He doesn't know everything you just told me. Why? Because you yourself have refused to tell him. So it's only natural Baron is afraid of you. But at the same time, he needs both your power and guidance. Now, here's the catch... That common ground I spoke of? The one you so adamantly denied existed? You already have it. You want to fight, to prove your strength. You want to prove to you aren't a monster. Baron isn't as strong as you, and clearly dislikes fighting in any form... See where I'm going with this? What would you say to a gentleman's agreement between you and Baron? Surely a reasonable being like you sees the wisdom in this.

"You want to know the truth? She is here, and she is under the finest protection available. Do as I say and you will get to see her again." The vampire loosened his rigid grip to give Jacob some room to move his head, but still maintained a rigid grip. --- Pearl just sorta groaned a little as Elia tried to check on her. The faraway look in her dulling eyes only got further as she lost a little more blood from her chest wound. --- "You're crazy if you think you're in any condition to talk!" Rhea shouted with only a minimally heightened voice. "Mist double back over here and get him somewhere safe, Cream finish the job! The last thing I'll let you do is die just so Pearl can find a reason to cry." Mist jumped out of Valkyrie while beheading a zombie just as Cream reapplied the Restoration. They disappear to the spot Pearl enjoyed playing in as a child in between the Lake and the Monastery with both in view on opposite ends. Rhea resumes giving orders as her vicious glare turns to the part of the monastery with a collapsing roof.
"Jet, Ishiwa, Dead man: pick up the slack and get some heads rollin'. Wha-Wha, continue protecting Warrant until her second revival is ready. Mercury, stop holding back and let 'em have it. And no one touch the vampire. He's mine..." --- Mist sighed as she looked off in the distance and ignored all the beautiful flowers. "We're still needed there you know. How long will healing him take anyway?"
"Just five minutes if he lays perfectly still." Cream replied. "This isn't as effective as white room." --- Pearl continued to skip merrily as Alto followed suit in suspicion. "Hi love!" Pearl blurted out to the other Nymph just ahead collecting a blue fruit from a tree.
"Oh, you're back already Pearl? did you enjoy yourself out there?"
"Yu-huh! Jam meet even Pretty Lady." Pearl was then mesmerized by a toad and chased it off into the wilderness. Love stood bewildered until the alleged 'pretty lady' showed up.
"Dear did Pearl lick your face? We told her not to do that anymore, but she just doesn't seem to comprehend it. She didn't say... anything random per chance, did she?" Although Pearl wasn't wearing anything, Love was wearing clothes. --- Wha-Wha immediately locks the cellar door they journeyed to behind them as Arcturus reaches up for the bottle. "Are you really, really sure you want to hear? It's not a story for the faint of heart, and we don't like to be reminded of it. Be totally honest now, is this a conscientious decision you want to go through with?"

"And why can't you use White Room?"
---
"No, nothing in particular." Alto replied as she examined the new nymph. "Say, how many of you are there?"
---
"Absolutely." Arcturus answered as he sat straight.

"See Baron even he agrees with me you need me more than you think," Van said. "As you can tell Vincent I am not good at words or talking about this stuff," Van said. "Yet if there is a way you can reach this fool then go on and let him know," Van said.
Finally Van responded with, "What sort of agreement are we talking about Vincent?". "I am willing to listen to this agreement of yours," Van replied.

Hours later, Serlen and Shalla were off. "I'm going to take some time to meditate" Serlen suddenly said, taking a seat in the forest clearing. Shalla folded her arms. "What type of meditation?"
Serlen shrugged, "Not your average, but I still do it." He proceeded to meditate.

Vincent's grin widens, but only slightly. I thought you might see things my way. The agreement I have in mind is rather simple. If you so desire, I can help bring you and Baron closer together, so to speak. He will have access to your power at any time, and in return, you will have your greatest desire: the chance to prove your strength, and to be free. By doing this, by merging you two, Baron will also have a greater understanding of your true nature. As such, I will not need to tell him anything. He will already know. This way, Baron will be much more comfortable with you, and will realize you aren't the terrible danger he thinks. And I have another proposition for you, one I think you might like... This knowledge I seek? The ability to merge two halves into a whole... Such an ability might also be used to separate two halves from each other, don't you agree? When I finally learn what I need, how about I give you a call, so to speak?

"I am very intrigued how you can get us two to act as one Vincent," Van responded. "How two different beings can act as one I never thought a thing was possible," Van stated. "I am wondering what your next plan is," Van said. "I hope it is interesting and simple as you are making out to be Vincent," Van stated. "Funny, someone doesn't usually earn my respect or interest as quick as you do Vince," Van responded. "Just know Vince I am not known for my patience so don't keep me waiting too long," Van said"About your ability to separate two beings I hope to hear from you soon Vincent," Van said with a little optimism.
"I am telling you this as someone I trust," Van said "Just know I don't trust easily so, I hope you are not lying to me, or this is some trick," Van said. "I may not be able to defeat you but something tells me this place isn't as strong," Van said Vincent while waiting for Vincent's next response.

"See, that's where you're wrong Van," Vincent replies aloud, foregoing the telepathy. "You think yourself as a separate entity, a different being from Baron. But that isn't true at all, nor will it ever be, even if I do grant you the knowledge you seek. You and Baron are one and the same, two halves of the same whole. Just as Death and I are."
His beautiful dragon gives him a hesitant look, unsure if she should relay his words or not. Vincent gives a slight nod, as he steps down from his throne. He kneels to pet the dragon at his feet, only briefly, and she purrs. "Come with me," he says to Baron, his tone allowing no argument. "We're going on a small journey. But before we leave, go retrieve your wolf. You will need her for what is to come."

Serlen opens his eyes to find himself in a field of the most beautiful flowers he has ever seen. He knows this place well. A place he is only granted access to, because of his deeds. "Begnia." He calls out quietly. A being of pure light makes her way into the area
"Ah, you return. What brings you upon my realm once more?" Begnia asked. she stops in front of him, yellow eyes glowing with benevolence.
"I wished to seek your advice. You gave me great insight in the past." Serlen replies, kneeling. it wasn't really necessary, but respect to an all powerful figure was still that, respect. He spends a few hours on said realm, before he end his meditation.

"Whatever you say Vincent?" were Van's last words before he went silent.
At that moment Barron just shrugged his shoulders and went to get Catie. "What could Catie have to do with this?" Baron thought very confused.
As Baron went to go get Catie he noticed how quickly she became okay with a bow. Thanks mostly to Sam ' volunteering ' to train Catie. "Hey Sam you go can go back to the room now and rest I am sure you had a busy day training Catie," Baron told his cat who started to resemble a porcupine with all the arrows sticking out of him. "It was a meownor, I mean honor," Sam said while unaware of where he was at. " Go and take a nice long rest you need it," Baron told his oblivious dad. "Also I hope you learned a valuable lesson yourself," Baron whispered to the cat as he made his way to the guest rooms.
"Awww and he was such a decent teacher to," Catie sighed. "Oh well let me go and see if Silver wants to play?" Catie said as she was about to skip away. Baron just gently grabbed Catie by the arm and told her, "Catie, me and Silver's dad need you," . Catie just looked at Baron like he was speaking another language. "I need you because you are important part not only to my training but to me to Cate," as Baron pulled Catie into his embrace.
"Am I important to you because of what you said earlier?" Catie asked Baron. "Yes, it's because I do love you Catie, and really the only person I missed while I was away was you," Baron said as he leaned in towards Catie. " I am glad you feel that way because over the course of our many wonderful adventures, I began to develop feelings for you to, but I was scared how you would react," Catie said as she leaned in towards Baron. The two shared a romantic kiss where it seemed like nothing else mattered until a certain lich appeared. "I guess we have to get going Catie," Baron said as he noticed Vincent. "Okay," Catie said very reluctantly. "Let's get this training done and over with Catie said holding Baron's hand as they made there way to Vincent.
"Ok Vincent, me and Catie are ready when you are?" Baron told Vincent. "Just one quick question before we begin, how does Catie figure into me and my vampire side coexisting?" Baron asked while following Vincent.

"She is your bargaining chip," Vincent replies, as he leads the pair out of the palace. Silver, still in dragon form, plods along beside him, a contented smile on her face. "In order to successfully merge with your other half, even temporarily, a pact must be forged. A pact is a binding agreement to ensure both parties hold firm. It requires the most important part of each half, their very soul. For you, this is Catie. For Van, it is his freedom. I will go into more detail once we reach the summit."

"Wow to think i am that important to you Barron," Catie replied while walking close to Barron.
"I never told you this Catie but, before I met you I was in a dark place myself," "Before we met me and Sam were traveling together," Baron said to the Catie who was clinging to his arm. "All the places we visited were fine until, people discovered I was half vampire," Baron said very solemnly. "One place after another would treat me with a monster and that very day I met you I was about to be done with my human side forever," Baron stated. "If people were going to treat me like a monster I was going to be the monster they wanted me to be," Baron responded. Catie just looked at Baron with a look of shook and a little surprise.
"Yet from the moment I saved you and saw how cheerful you were especially after suffering through something so horrific with those slavers," Baron told Catie. "From all the time we spent together and saw how you are always so happy go lucky," Barron told the now blushing Catie. "I learned it's not what other people think about you that's important it's about being who you are that matters the most," Baron told Catie who had Barron's arm in a bear hug. "Barron you know why I am always so happy when I travel with you and Sam because I get to be with you," Catie said before her and Baron shared a brief kiss.
"Lets make this pact together," Catie said with determination. "Yeah together Catie, and you too Van if you can here me," Barron responded as the group got close to there destination

"You still see your other half as a monster, do you?" Vincent asks, with a hint of disappointment, as he leads the group out into the fresh mountain air. "You couldn't be more wrong, Baron. In fact, you are quite lucky. Your other half is both reasonable and wise. You should not allow the ignorant views of simple folk to cloud your judgement. Though I suppose you are not to blame. You were not educated properly, as you should have been."
Vincent suddenly points towards the mountain peak, high above. "That is our destination. I hope you like the cold."

Shalla is instantly upon the youth when he opens his eyes. "What did you see?" She asks, excitedly. Serlen doesn't expect her to be this excitable over something. "Just a vision." He waves, hand on a tree. He lifts himself up, and gives a bright smile.
"You're usually grumpy." He teases, getting to his feet. Shalla's smile drops, and she growls. "I am not Grumpy!" She yells. A few birds fly from their trees, desperate to escape her ire. Serlen waves his hands defensively. "Don't mind me. My conversations with women usually end horribly." He says quickly.
"I can see why. Didn't you have some sort of school that educated you on how to talk to women?" The priestess sighs. Serlen lists off his terms. "Yes, but I failed all of them." He admits.
Shalla stands there with disbelief in her eyes. "How is that possible?" She finally mutters. " I get nervous when I stand to close to one..." Serlen trails off. He isn't sure why he is sharing this with her. Shalla paused for a moment, before closing the distance.
"Really?" She breathed. Serlen scurried back, bumping into a tree. "Please don't do that." He pleaded, eyebrows furrowed. Shalla smiled, a mischievous one at that. "I'm going to help you." She declared, grasping his hand. Serlen unconsciously removed it. "And don't do that either." He sighed.
"You're going to be alone in your reign if you don't learn, so come here!" Shalla demanded. Serlen stepped back. "I'd rather not." He replied.

"Sigh if there is one thing I hate more then rejection it's the cold there," Baron thought a little dishearted
"What's the matter?" Catie as Baron. "You know how much I hate cold Baron whispered back. " At least you have me close to keep you warm," Catie whispered back. "Yeah your right," Baron responded.
"Vince you misunderstood me when I called Van a monster," Baron told Vincent. "It was in reference to how I use fto refer to him," Barron said. "While we were walking Van was telling me what you said about him," Baron went on. "After everything he has told me I am at the very least willing to stop calling him a beast or a monster.," Baron said. "Hopefully, one day we can be friends or even brothers," Baron said in conclusion.
"About the pact is Catie in any real danger during the process or only if I break the agreement?" Baron asked Vincent while the group began the climb.

"Only if you break the agreement," Vincent replies, seemingly deep in thought. "As you said, Van isn't a monster. He has no reason to harm her, especially when doing so would be detrimental to his own goals. Oh, and don't worry about the cold. We aren't going too far up. Near the summit, there is a shrine to the old gods, a sacred place... Perhaps I better show you than explain."
Vincent leads the group up the lone, worn path, a twisting road of broken stones. "Silver my sweet, could you scout ahead? I'd rather not have any run ins with... Well, you get the idea."
The white dragon gives a subtle nod, before taking to the skies.

Serlen spends the rest of the day avoiding Shalla. He had never seen someone so deadset on something. "Urghhh....... I need a break." He muttered, placing Alyrun down.
"And something else too." A voice said from behind him.
"Shalla."
He was promptly tackled to the ground.
"We are.....going to work on that problem of yours." Shalla said fiercely. Serlen struggled. "Never!" he shouted.
