Actually... This could be a neat mechanic. In order to get villages to worship you, you have to develop a contract. This can be done many ways, like protecting the village from another dragon, or rescuing a kidnapped maiden or three. Eventually, you'll have impressed the village chief or elder enough to where he/she will send an envoy to your Home Base, offering a truce and bringing gifts. The envoy will propose a contract; I.E, you don't steal their women, or you protect them from nasty human bandits, or whatever, and in return, they pay you tribute. You will receive tribute from every village that worships you, and what that tribute is varies by the village. They could bring you sheep, or gold, or pets, or maidens. But you can only have a contract with a number of villages equal to your Life Stage, up to a maximum of 8. After all, more people worship powerful dragons. And you can only develop contracts with villages and towns and small cities. No Kingdoms. You know what... Let's do it! We could end up having massive dragon wars, which would be awesome! Can you imagine a three way war between three Sage Dragons, each with 7 cities worshipping them and willing to fight and die for them?! And the prize is the most beautiful princess in the land! Or the greatest treasure ever! And you have to defeat the enemy's Supreme Commander dragon to win! Welcome to Dragon Life: Age of Empires edition!

Question: why do humans get to set terms with a dragon?
The way I was going to do it is that the dragon allows the humans some kindness if it wants a relationship, and then takes what it deems a fair trade. If the humans don't see it as fair, they'll revolt and you'll have to kill them. If they do, then your contract is established. They might decide to offer you something, in which case you could choose to reciprocate. If you don't, the humans will be less likely to offer anything in the future. And you can punsh them if they stop offering, but that pushes them towards revolt. If you are completely benevolent then you don't benefit from them...and if you want a pet village that's your life choice.
Basically, its fishing.

Oh, and to prevent bad dragons from going to war willy nilly... The winning dragon receives a share of the loser's treasure.
Well? What do you guys think?

They would just approach you first. Cause, you know, they can talk. If you don't like the contract, you can always burn it to ashes. And your way can be an alternative method to establishing contracts.

Also, human ego. Most humans assume dragons are just wild beasts anyway.

...should I bring up the asian dragon thing again? Nah. I already OKed the Shenlon species. Just make sure to run its SPec by me first.

Probably as trophies, or as snacks.
So, would the fire/blast resistance be a balanced SPec for a Coal Dragon?

Could there be a treasure that boosts the users speed by 50%? If that's too OP then it can decrease strength.

Probably as trophies, or as snacks. So, would the fire/blast resistance be a balanced SPec for a Coal Dragon? Yup. It will need to increase in increments for each Life Stage though. Hmm... Maybe something like 10% Fire/Blast resistance as a Hatchling, and it increases by 10% each Life Stage? That would make it 80% at max, which is high enough to set the Coal Dragon apart from, say, the Fire Dragon, but it's still not completely broken, as you can still take damage. Sound good?

I was thinking more about the "most people think dragons are wild beasts" part. And I'm not actually going to RP this so I don't think I'll flesh it out. The SPec would probably have something to do with gaining human favor or weather manipulation though.

Though, if Fire Dragon is immune to fire, what would Coal Dragon be immune to?
Suffocation?

I think i' ll make a hyper sky dragon.
