Gems aren't thematic nor are relevant.

They fit the functions of not getting in the way, forcing any sort of weapon or whatever on the Onmyoji, and being distinguishable from stuff that would be used for regular youkai. That's all I need, mang.

But shouldn't using the Kodai Youkai require special training?
The gem idea isn't fitting at all. Neither are weapons.

Yeah, in the same way Jinchuriki do. Doesn't go against any of the ideas so far.
And the O-fudo, while more fitting thematically, slightly lack in function.

You can use gun jutsu?! At first, I was under the stern belief than guns destroyed medieval works, but Legretta proved me wrong. I'm interested in creating these weapons, possibly making custom ones. They wouldn't be overpowered if you're wondering.

Could it be possible that the guns are crafted from chakra conducting material, similar to the chakra paper that tells your elemental affinity?
If so, what would be the best metal for that? If you can indeed go with that, I presume that the "modern" guns in the RP would get slowly powerful the more chakra you put into them, and would also depend on what model they are, size, and slots. It makes sense that these guns would also make chakra bullets.
For example, if I empower them with fire chakra, a bullet of fire would come out, creating flames. The more chakra I pump into this jutsu, the more it evolves, possible evoking a inferno, but requires a great deal of chakra due to having to mold it, and force it into a object.
Of course, these guns would be useless without chakra. Thoughts/opinions?

If I participate, my character would be using guns without chakra. Just throwing that out there.

If I participate, my character would be using guns without chakra. Just throwing that out there. That's perfectly fine. The idea is to keep them balanced with the other weapons, then slowly evolve some more into more powerful weaponry. The other weapons will have the advantage still; as guns are recent, and there were more swords and such before the modern era. A person with a legendary weapon could possibly best someone who uses gun jutsu. Now, the scales might skip if there was at least one legendary chakra gun out there, but I think it's best there isn't, or the balance scale tips heavily.

That's all I need, mang. The first variation (normal O-fuda) weren't distinguishable, the second (giant O-fuda) was oversized and likely getting in the way, not to mention being hard to see as easy to transform with (like how a normal O-fuda you'd just slip out and absorb the essence somehow, but the giant one would require a whole vulnerable unraveling thing, and might be difficult to transport). I agree that the jewels aren't thematic, but they're distinguishable, easy to whip out, and only force jewelry on the Onmyoji. Admittedly, I was half-thinking when I mentioned the weapons. Fen-Fen, I've already got a similar thing built into a sword, so that's fine. And I don't recall Naruto employing any legendary weapons at all, so I'm not even gonna start worrying about that.

Why wouldn't using an incredibly powerful Youkai require a larger window of time? Plus, it's no worse than Ten-Ten's rising dragon.

Well, I suppose I'll make him/her when I have the time.
