"So who are all these losers before me, and they better not have taken Peach?" Bowser said very dismissively of the other people around him. "Sire do you really have to try and rile everybody up already," Kamek asked Bowser. "First off Bowser if you want to see Peach here she is," Starlow said showing Bowser the card of Peach. "That's a cute card but I asked where is my princess?" Bowser demanded. "Sire I think she is...great he's not even paying attention," Kamek lamented.
"Listen up all you losers who ever took my princess Peach better return her, otherwise you will have to answer to me," Bowser said. "Great we are here for two minutes and he's already trying to challenge the room," Kammy and Bowser Jr. said returning with plates of food. "Mama Mia," Mario let out while trying to tell Bowser that this is Peach who's been turned into a card. "Please Mario, you don't have to defend these inferior people before me," Bowser said to Mario
"Is he always like this?" Baron asked as Catie was just laying on him. "This is actually, him behaving," Starlow said.

I see... So either these abominations are dealt with, or there won't be enough left of this world to conduct any ritual, let alone one powerful enough to traverse Space and Time. We seem to be at a stalemate of sorts... Interesting. Very interesting indeed. Still...
"And you expect to defeat these abominations with that ragtag bunch in there?" He laughs bitterly. "My, my. You're awfully optimistic, aren't you? Very well. I will help you. However... We need to get a few things straight first. I answer to no one. I have lived for centuries, and I have spent most of my time on the battlefield. I am so far beyond your pathetic Generals it's laughable. I am your only hope of turning this suicide mission into a success. I refuse to answer to mortals with a mere fraction of my knowledge and experience. You and your Generals will enlighten me on what I need to know about this world. And then you will publicly name me Supreme Commander of your forces. From now on, the military Chain of Command begins with me. Do we have an agreement?"

"Interesting", replied Glinda. "You wish to gain supreme command over my military forces, and yet you refuse to collaborate with your fellow outlanders and make an effort to better understand where their strengths and weaknesses lie; what they are capable of, their special talents, their individual feats, their synergy with others, what rulesets their worlds -- and by extension their presence in this world -- abide to, the aces they hold up their sleeve. Furthermore, while I do not doubt your power, history has shown us that those who hold the most power do not always end as the best tacticians. In reality, leaders gone drunk with power often thought themselves invincible, which results in more devastating losses that could have been avoided. Had such a thing not occurred in the past, we would have no fear of the abominations that threaten our existence in the first place...
I cannot deem you supreme commander of our military might", said Glinda. "...However, I am willing to allow you, and the other outlanders you seem to consider yourself above, access to our military intelligences and dossiers, as well as access to areas otherwise restricted to common citizenry, and our soldiers shall be willing to lend small pieces of aid, such as supplies, whenever they feel able. Furthermore, you may give suggestions towards our generals and military leaders, who will act as they deem fit. If they are willing, they may also spare some lower ranked soldiers to follow orders from the Outlanders.
If you still wish to have a force of your own to command", continued Glinda, "the other outlanders may be willing to elect a leader to guide them. Ultimately, however, that is something that is up to them to decide, as I have no right to make any more decisions for them on the matter than I already have.
How do you respond?"

A very good play. I may have underestimated you... A bit. But you're still utterly blind... How unfortunate.
He turns back towards the window. "Get to know them?" He asks rhetorically. "I think you may have underestimated me. It's understandable, however. I seem to have done you the same diservice. I already do know a few of the 'Outlanders', as you call them. More so than they know themselves, most likely. And in those brief moments I was in that room... I learned more about them than you will ever understand, and I did so without a single word. I was a tactician long before I held this power, Queen Glinda, and I possess a level of vision and wisdom far beyond your ken. But that is beside the point. Correct me if I am wrong, but the way I see it... You summoned us here merely to use as fodder. You claim good intentions... And yet you clearly desire to keep us apart. How have your Generals fared so far? If the situation is as dire as you claim... Do you honestly believe you can solve it by working separately? Do you honestly believe your Generals will listen to a word I say, or any Outlander for that matter, even if the truth is staring them in the face? Do you honestly believe dossiers and lower enlisted soldiers will be enough to help us win?"
He turns back again, meeting her gaze. "No... You are no leader. You are no commander. That is painfully obvious. Let me guess... You inherited your position didn't you, after the previous King died... Who was he? Father? No... Your husband. Very well, Queen Glinda. I will bow to your wishes just this once. I will accompany you to the common room. But know this: I have no intention of leading this suicide mission. For that's exactly what it is. You intend to send the Outlanders on a mission into unknown territory, on an unknown world, with enemies as powerful as these so-called abominations, with only beans and lower enlisted for support? Count me out. I will remain here in the palace. And when you come to your senses, and realize just how wrong you truly are, I will be here waiting."

"Despite your baseless assumptions concerning those you view as inferiors, perhaps you are wiser than I thought you to be", said Glinda. "However, where you see... separation, I see cautiousness. I allow you small privileges as a test. Once I am able to further see your merits, I may bestow your other privileges as a result. After all, your apparent experience and tactical expertise might may be a bluff to gain effective control of this entire realm for yourself, or send our own armies as fodder only to abandon us once a ritual to return you to your world is complete. If you want the control you seek, prove to the people of Oz that you are worthy of following; of gaining their loyalty and support.
And surely, you don't mean to imply that you will sit by and do nothing when you could be helping your children return home? Forsake any friends or loved ones you have back home? Perhaps a wife, if I may be so bold?"
Glinda nodded and turned around. "...Very well. We shall go to the common room."
She was about to open the door when she paused.
"...If I may ask", she said, "did you come into this world in possession of any sort of card you previously didn't possess? Possibly with someone you recognize inscribed?"

"A... Card?" Nobunaga asks curiously. He doesn't even bother to hide his surprise. "No... I do not believe I have." He turns to his children. "Do you have anything of the sort?"
They shake their heads wordlessly. He didn't blame them. It was their first time seeing this side of him, after all. He tells them to wait in the room, and follows Glinda out into the hall. "You make a persuasive argument," he says suddenly, reverting back to the previous topic. "I can understand your caution. But it is that same caution that will doom your people. There comes a time in war when safety and caution must be pushed aside. Every General worth his salt knows this. And from what you have told me, now is clearly that time. You desire us to put our lives on the line... Even throw them away, for people who are essentially our captors. You are the ones who summoned us, Queen Glinda. You took us away from our families, our homes. And now we're forced to trust you... To take you at your word, on faith alone, that you'll let us return to our families, even though it would be in your best interest for us to stay. Don't you see? Most humans are selfish and fickle creatures. Who is to say one of your Generals won't revolt and try to keep us here by force? You are asking us, no, telling us to sacrifice everything... To lay everything on the line...And what are we getting in return? Are you trusting us? Are you giving us the support we need? No. You wish to err on the side of caution. Did you yourself not say your people are on the verge of extinction? How can I make you understand?"
He suddenly stops walking, and leans against the wall. For a few moments, Vincent's facade falls away, and his exhaustion shows, even through his mask. "I do have a wife, you know. And the mere thought of never seeing her again... It tears me apart."
He's silent for a moment longer. "I can see the future, Queen Glinda. Your caution will be the death of us all. Since you seem to be adamant about not ceding control, even though your people are far safer in my hands than easily corruptible humans, I will act as the Outlanders' General. Whether they like it or not. With my abilities, I can travel anywhere almost instantaneously, as long as I have a source of darkness to use as a conduit, and providing there aren't any magical sources near the destination stronger than I. Since you refuse to protect the Outlanders, I will remain here and act as a liaison. I will bring new information, supplies, and whatever aid I can out to them in the field. At least this way no one will be in the dark, and it will ease their minds. They won't have to fear betrayal. Do you find this acceptable?"

"...Your words... They do ring true", said Glinda solemnly. Not a piece of her stoic facade remained on her expression. "My late husband... He was the true heir to the throne. He passed away from illness and... my daughter was far too young to inherent the throne at the time... so the crown fell to me. Every waking moment, I spend questioning my decisions. Every report of one's death tears at me. I always wonder what else I could've done to be able to save just one more person..."
Glinda shook her head to compose herself. "Your words are true. Perhaps I am not the most capable person for this... But please understand that I cannot immediately cede complete control towards you no matter how true your intentions are. Think of it, the people who know of the ritual already possess mixed opinions regarding whether it should've been done. A stranger from another world with motives unclear suddenly receives full military control without question? The queen trusts a complete stranger over her own people? Support and morale from those very troops you desire would be lost, discontent would multiply, and a full-scale rebellion may just spark in its place. That is why I ask that you wait, just for a moment. Show that you are on the people's side. Build on your reputation, and more would support your effort.
...And before you entertain the thought, exposing the 'vast darkness within my heart' would do nothing but be seen as a forcible attempt at the throne with all the discontent that comes with it. You may not believe it, but I am the closest ally of yours with authority to tip the balance in favor of you and the other outlanders. I only ask that you understand what I am trying to do."
Glinda turned around to continue walking. "...You are no doubt questioning my inquiry about a card", she said. "All will be made clear once I address everyone in the common room... There is one other outlander that will be staying in the palace for an extended period of time.
...Yes, I find your plan acceptable", said Glinda. "...But I cannot say whether the others will immediately accept you."
"Whoa!"
John Doe couldn't help but smile as Manaphy and Rotom circled around him, taking view of extravagant structure of the palace and how otherwordly it seemed. Fortunately, only a small handful of soldiers out on the hallway moved to grab their weapons out of instinct with none of them actually attacking... Might be because they were small and cute.
The escort took them toward a set of double doors guarded by two large guards with poleaxes and a robed man with silver hair.
"General Alvis!" saluted Doe's escort.
"An outlander?" asked Alvis.
"Yes sir", said the escort.
"Pleased to meet you", said John Doe with a bow.
"Yes, quite", said Alvis. "Please make your way inside. The queen is on-route to address you all."
John Doe tipped his head to the side. "...I see."
Alvis turned around as Glinda, followed by another man with a mask, appeared from the other side of the hall. Alvis and the soldiers bowed, with John Doe taking a moment before following suit, believing it to be the polite thing to do.
Glinda nodded as a soldier held the door open to her. She stepped to the side and gestured for John Doe and the other masked man to head inside. Doe himself nodded at the other masked man to allow him to go first.
"Another John Doe?" said Rotom.
"Maybe the two of them will be mask buddies", mused Zoroark.

Nobunaga pondered the Queen's words as he found a corner in the room, away from everyone- especially those who could recognize him- and casually leaned against the wall. She was right, of course. Even if she understood, that doesn't mean the general populace would. Even though it would be for the best, most wouldn't see it that way. He knew that. Building my reputation huh... I haven't had to do that in ages. It will be especially tricky, if I keep my identity hidden...
Still, she did admit ceding control to him might be wise, and that was a very good first step. He just needed to work for it; an idea he certainly wasn't used to. It had definitely been a good while... He studied the others in the room. Those who were here before still were, but now he noticed a few newcomers... A large, spiky turtle monster looking thing, a smaller spiky turtle thing, a couple human girls, and a familiar female wolf... Not to mention the other masked fellow with odd looking... Familiars floating around him.
Ridiculous. This is a freaking circus, not a platoon...

John Doe studied the man he let pass through, but naturally didn't get to red anything.
What's your story? Why the mask? Intimidation?
John Doe entered the room and stood around the left midsection of the room, his Pokemon similarly taking seats around him.
Alvis looked at Glinda.
"Milady", he said.
She nodded and raised her staff slightly before tapping it once against the ground. She entered the common room with one of the guards following her. Alvis paused a moment before walking down the other end of the hallway.
So the outlander who has voiced the most hostility cooperated without incident after all? I can't help but wonder how milady did it.
The guard who followed Glinda inside cleared his voice and yelled at the outlanders as Glinda walked to the front-most center of the room.
"Your attention, please! Queen Glinda is about to speak!"

As the guard announced her presence to the outlanders in the common room, Queen Glinda scanned her eyes around the outlanders. They certainly were a... colorful bunch.
Her eyes focused on the one German Shepard in the room in particular. After realizing that she was only recently informed of the arrival of a group that included a dog (the report didn't specify what kind), and that she's seen that dog before, her inner cogs started spinning.
...Lana. You have some explaining to do after this.
With the outlanders' attention resting on her, she swallowed and began to speak.
"Greetings, visitors to our world. My sincerest apologies for keeping you all waiting. I am Queen Glinda of this queendom, Yuleia. Though I dearly wish circumstances were better, I must still extend a welcome to this world: the world of Oz.
I have no doubt you are wondering why you were brought to this world; for what purpose you were taken from your own. The truth of the matter is... We... That is, this kingdom, is under siege. Not only are we locked in a war with Ephesus, the rival empire to the northeast, but to understand the real danger, that which is driving humankind in this world to near extinction, I must briefly speak about the history of our world.
...Oz used to have two ruling classes. There were the Wordsmiths, who wrote epic tales of heroes and villains, of monsters and machines, of gods and men. The technology they used to write commands a magic so powerful that their scripture is infused with magic that through psychic matter transmutation gives anything they write about the ability to come to life. The magic of their stories remained, even when alchemically reduced into storage in the form of Cards. Then there were the Dealers, who wielded these cards. Their rituals extracted the magic of the Wordsmiths to release this magic from their card forms. This allows the characters of the works to be brought to life. Unfortunately, the primary intent of this form of interactive fiction was quickly lost when the destructive potential of these cards was realized. In one particular war in Oz's past, Wordsmiths were called on to write the most devastatingly malicious and powerful characters they could imagine. The Dealers took these horrible stories to rain the hellfire of pure twisted imagination upon each other. Consumed by the desire to rain destruction to their enemies, both sides of the war continued creating creatures of chaos until at last, they had sealed the fate of the world for the following generations. These deities they created turned on their masters and continue to mindlessly terrorize and raze our world for their amusement today.
In the following years, Wordsmiths and Dealers were hunted down until they were no more; whether by the abominations they summoned, or the rioting citizenry who hold them accountable for the suffering they've caused. The records and secrets of their magic soon became lost. Although the civilization had not fully collapsed these past years and the two kingdoms that remain -- Our own Yuleia and our enemy Ephesus -- have amassed a fighting force to fend off extinction, the truth of the matter was that we were still outmatched; it was only a matter of time until we would be overpowered and the human race here in Oz would be extinct if things continued this way."
She briefly glanced at Nobunaga, as if to say "this is why people are so distrustful of outlanders; why their support must be earned".
"In time, however, the scholars of this world were able to discover a new form of magic: summoning magic. Similar to those used by the Wordsmiths and Dealers of old, they can summon individuals of worlds not of our own. Unlike the magic of old, however, our method does not use scriptures to summon works of fiction turned real. Instead, this magic involved searching through time and space itself and pull individual persons from their real worlds into ours. In desperation of any method of being able to possess a fighting chance at survival, the scholars prepared a ritual to do exactly that. Chancellor Cia was overseeing it. However, during the ritual, the palace was attacked and the ritual was interrupted. Though a great number of you have gathered here, others that have also been summoned were scattered across the land, possibly wandering out there as we speak.
...In order to repel the attack, Cia did something that resulted in her passing out and falling into a comatose state. While it was my original intention to give all of you the choice to stay and aid us or return to your own world at the precise moment you were taken -- with a margin of error being only a few minutes -- with Cia comatose, it pains me to say that it will take a long time for you all to be able to return home... Possibly too long. However, there is one way to revive her. At the center of this world lies Yggdrasil, the great world tree. Underneath its branches like a mythical spring of the purest water. Do this, and the way back to your home worlds shall be clear.
...However... I must ask... No... I implore you all that you please consider remaining in our realm to help us in our darkest time; our time of greatest need. My people are suffering, our soldiers dying to defend their loved ones. We... are at our last legs."
Glinda paused to allow comments and questions to be heard and allow the outlanders a chance to talk amongst themselves.

I knew it! This food didn't come without a catch!
Irving was the first to raise a hand.
"Yes?" said Glinda.
"You talked about these... scrip-shures basically kicking humanity's ass, right? And about how humanity may be going extinct here soon? Then why do you call that other kingdom your 'enemy' that you're at war with? If anything, it sounds like yer killin' your own numbers."
"You are correct", said Glinda. "Although I would normally welcome an alliance with Ephesus, this other kingdom, they have always continued to spark aggression against Yuleia for as long as I can recall. However, it was not until my late husband's -- the previous king -- passing that they have declared open war and are now attempting to forcibly push toward expansion over our territories despite our world's current condition. As such, we continue fighting them if it means defending our people."
"Still mad for power and land when the world has gone to s***?" said Irving. "And royals wonder why people don't like them. Err, except for you and every other royal that might happen to be here", he hastily adds. "You seem all different enough.
One last question: since I'm a mercenary and we'll basically be semi-military, does this mean I'm a PMC now?"
"...Not quite, I believe", said Glinda, initially unsure of what to say. "Even if we paid you and allowed you to carry it back to your world, I doubt currency from this world may be of much value in your world.
Irving went silent briefly.
"...Eh. I'm gonna call myself a PMC anyway."
John Doe rolled his eyes at the mercenary who asked the first question.
I don't know who this guy is, but he reminds me a lot of Clark... I don't like it.

"Sooo, I said to the people at this table, what's the deal with portal food?" Arcturus slurred as the time Magick wore off. "You know, a sushi bar would be nice. What is sushi anyways?"

"So Baron what do you think?" Catie asked. "Like you have to ask, we are going to help, no other choice, sigh," Sam said making his way from the crazed scientist. "Well we can't go home until we revive this Cia person and even when we were offered a choice, I just can't leave things the way they are," Baron said. Mario told Baron that he feels the same way and would be more then willing to help. "Normally, I would think you are nuts but I know better besides if they were desperate enough to summon Bowser then things seem pretty dire," Starlow chimed in. "Hmm where is the princess at anyways?" Alyssa asked Catie.
Bowser looked like he had an idea or something like that on his mind. "Umm sire please don't tell me you are thinking of doing something stupid," Kamek asked even though he knew the answer. "Stupid you already know Bowser is going to do something to make a big show," Kammy said slapping Kamek from behind. "Hey older looking white haired Peach," Bowser called out to Glinda. "Where's that chick who looks like a younger you with white hair? Bowser asked Glinda. "You mean the princess?" Kammy asked. "Yeah where this Princess what's her name?" Bowser said turning to the table. "Lana," Bowser Jr. deadpanned. "Yeah that Lana person where is she?" Bowser finally got around to asking.
"Why do you care about another princess, cheating on Peach?" Starlow chided Bowser. "Please, unlike the rest of these losers here," Bowser said as he stood on his chair and literally called out everybody there. "I am a guest of honor, of the one and only princess Lisa?? Leah???," Bowser said. "Sigh its Princess Lana, and she only said that so the guards didn't attack you, or your family," Alyssa said. "Ah what's that word again, jeans, genie, I got it your jelly that I am a guest of honor of a princess, and your not gwa ha ha," Bowser told Alyssa as those losers and Bowser Jr. just looked away and sat next to Mario. "Hey, Catie is he always like....where did she go?" Baron asked when he noticed Catie wasn't around.
"Baron I smell something it smells very familiar, I think I know this scent but I am not sure," Catie said making her way to the masked guy. "Catie your not suppose to sniff strangers," Baron said hoping to reach Catie in time. Yet, Baron was unable to make it time as Catie made her way to the masked stranger in the corner. "Sniff Sniff do I know you?" Catie asked the stranger. "You smell very familiar, I can't quite place it but, your smell," Catie said getting close to the stranger. "Catie what are you doing, you should know you can't do that to strangers," Baron said catching up to Catie. "Sorry stranger about my wife's behavior, she just really excited to meet new people," Baron said to the person in the mask. "But, but Baron, fine sorry for thinking you were someone I met, there you happy meanie," Catie said punching Baron in the arm. "Sigh let's get going Catie before you make things more awkward," Baron said as lead Catie away.
"Is she always that um friendly?" Starlow asked Sam. "Sigh if only you know, those two are like two peas in a pod," Sam lamented. "Its nice to see them back together again," Alyssa said. "I never got the chance to thank you Alyssa, but thanks for looking over Catie," Sam said. "You should thank the princess when you see her, she's the one that found us and tools us in," Alyssa said. "Hey what about me am I chopped goomba over here," Bowser asked. "Umm yeah, Mr. Bowser thanks I think," Sam said confused. While the heros at the table waited for the queens reponse

Nobunaga merely blinked. He watched in amusement as the turtle monster made an absolute fool of himself, and his amusement turned to horror as the wolf came right up and sniffed him like he was a tasty treat. Great... Just what I need. At least she hasn't changed much... Or at all. Although, now that I think about it... The Merc doesn't seem to have changed either. In fact, he doesn't look like he's aged a day. Interesting... He doesn't appear to be a Metahuman... Is he from a different timeline perhaps? It wouldn't be that far fetched, given everything else that has happened...
He pushes the thought out of his mind for now, and turns to Queen Glinda. "Queen Glinda, I have a question. These deities... These... Abominations. Why have they left Yuelia- and Ephesus as well for that matter- alone? Given their power and vast hatred of humanity, what's preventing them from obliterating this city?"

John Doe crossed his arms after observing some of the other "outlanders" around him and looked to listen intently to what Glinda had to say in response to the other masked man's question.
Of course. Not a single other person from my world, as far as I can tell.
...I do wonder about those things over there, though. Whatever they are.
Glinda broke away from giving a piercing gaze at the big and loud creature asking about a princess (at the back of his mind, Doe somehow doubted that it was a Pokemon) and began speaking again. "I... We cannot answer that for certain."
"Human-hating abominations refuse to sit for interviews, huh?" muttered Zoroark. "Think us Pokemon would fare much better at speaking with them?"
"We have a number of theories", continued Glinda, "but we continue to be uncertain. Some believe that they are not willing to risk being mortally wounded by our defenses. Others believe that they simply keep us alive as amusement. Or perhaps that they are gathering strength. It is also possible that a select number of them in truth operate through instinct rather than malice. However, it troubles us that a certain force led by one in particular was able to lead a siege on the palace itself without prior notice of their advance. It was this very same siege that interrupted the ritual that brought all of you to this world and brought Cia to her current state. Were it not interrupted, none of you would have been scattered, and we would have been able to allow you all the option to return to your own worlds should you be unwilling to aid us, and possibly be able to bring more outlanders as reinforcements.
...Which leads me to what I wish to address next. As the ritual was interrupted, a number of unforeseen results have transpired. As I said before, you were all scattered and others may continue to wander the world. Next, I wish to make you all aware of some... fluctuations that may or may not have affected some of you. This is all conjecture, but it is believed that possible side effects are discrepancies in your powers in this world from your own -- you may be weaker, or perhaps stronger. The next is that slight memory loss is possible -- you are unlikely to forget significant events in your past or people you hold close to your heart, but you may not recall certain minor events or meetings with certain individuals. It is uncertain if these memories will restore themselves in time, but it is not an impossible occurrence, should our research be accurate."
Huh... Does this mean I may have met those three people in my deck after all?
"I possess greater interest in her words regarding power discrepancies", said Ditto. "Perhaps a growth in our power may give you the confidence to act as a front-line fighter."
"...Or make us worse at what we're good at", said Grinn.
"...However, there is one side-effect that is the most curious to us", said Glinda.
"I do believe your cue is about to appear" said Ditto.
"As I have stated earlier, the power of the Wordsmiths were stored into Cards, which Wordsmiths wielded to summon their creations. Even today, powerful creatures remain dormant in their card state to be summoned during battle. In the past before my own lifetime, a nation used this power in order to combat the abominations, although this nation has long fallen and the locations of these cards elude us now. The magic used in the ritual is a derivative of this form of this magic. As a result, it would appear that this resulted in certain potential outlanders seemingly being converted or stored into a similar card state... I shall allow him to elaborate."
Glinda extended a hand to John Doe. He nodded and moved next to Glinda, his "deck" in one hand. With the other, he held up Riley, Rosa, and Cobalion's cards, as well as a randomly selected blank card.
"These cards show people on them", he said. "Most of them are friends of mine, and all of them are from my own world. Before I was brought to this world, I had nothing like these on my possession. However, when I found myself in the wilderness of this world, I suddenly had these cards in my pockets with no idea how they came to be there, what they were, or why my friends were on most of them. The rest... are simply blank."
"They also seem to differ from the cards I spoke of", said Glinda. John Doe kindly stepped aside to allow her to retake center stage. "The summoning cards the nation of the past used were recorded -- with evidence -- to possess a red glow to them. The cards of his friends he has demonstrated before you glow blue, however; a phenomenon we have no prior knowledge of. Furthermore, why was he in possession of blank cards that do not glow? Fortunately, this man has volunteered to remain in the palace to allow our mages and scholars to analyze and observe his cards; with the leading theory being that they may also be used to summon those engraved on the cards, though we do not know how. I must ask you to please search your own possessions to see if you find yourselves holding such cards and notify us immediately."
Naturally, Irving felt a deck in his back satchels around his waist... that he rarely, if ever, uses. He pulled it out and shuffled through its contents.
"...I only got blank ones", he called out.

Minor memory loss, power fluctuations, magical cards and gods know what else... This is getting better and better.
And of course, no one knows anything about the abominations that have been plaguing the world for eons. That would make things far too easy. Let's see if I have this right.. I have to somehow climb to the top of the proverbial ladder, get my kids home safely AND save the world- a world full of people who hate and fear me- from deities of destruction and magical playing cards, and all I have to work with are a bunch of circus freaks, a couple mages who probably don't like me very much, and an inexperienced Queen who stubbornly insists I work for even the smallest amount of support.
Wonderful. Just bloody wonderful. At this time of day, he'd much prefer to be home in bed with his wife. Not dealing with this... This mess ripped straight out of some crazy fairy tale. What the hell did he ever do to deserve this? Oh wait... That's right. And here he thought he had paid for his sins in full. Guess not.
"Is there anyone else who might know more about the abominations?" Nobunaga asks calmly, trying his best to hide his irritation. "Are there any records in the palace? Old manuscripts? Long buried legends? Call me old fashioned, but I really don't feel like leading a team into battle against creatures we know absolutely nothing about."

"We do have a quantity of documents and intelligence on most of these abominations", answered Glinda. "I did not say we knew nothing. We simply do not know everything about them; what they may think among them."

"Ms. Glinda," Starlow chimed in. "My friend Mario has some of these cards you speak of," Starlow said as Mario approached one of the guards. "They appear to be people from our world but we have no idea what they are," Starlow said.
"Clown, clown, I am the greatest king in all of history, inferior royal," Bowser roared towards the inferior Seraph. "Please I am not some clown my name is hey what was it again," Bowser said turning to his table. "Moron," Kammy replied to Bowser.
"Know this and know this well little man, I the great Moron, who happens to be the greatest Moron in all of history," Moron......I mean Bowser told Seraph. "You should be in awe of being in the presence of the great and powerful Moron," Bowser said to Seraph. "I am the greatest Moron in the history of royalty, you should be honor, to be in the presence of a great and powerful Moron, gwa ha ha," Bowser let out a hearty laugh. While this was going on Kammy, Kamek, and Bowser Jr. were on the ground rolling with laughter, while Sam just stared at what just happened. "What are you guys laughing at I am the greatest Moron ever, show some respect," Bowser said.

Nobunaga nods, seemingly pleased with Glinda's words. "May I look at this intelligence then?" He was tempted to add a snarky comment, something along the lines of 'if his pay grade was high enough', but decided against it.
He did, however, ignore the circus in the middle of the room. It must be a crime to be that stupid... It must be. Well, at least the woman appears to have some class... Maybe I'm not the only one here older than 14 after all. Good gods above, thank you for that.

Glinda observed the cards Mario showed her.
"Yes... These cards appear to be the same kind as the one in the mask demonstrated earlier. He has already offered his cards to be examined, so I shall allow you to continue to be in possession of these.
...I do believe I do not possess much else to tell you all. For your travels, you will be supplied with various traveling materials such as navigation equipment, caravan routes, an allotment of this world's currency, medicinal supplies, rations, and certain weaponry and pieces of military equipment, within limits. Additionally, you will be allowed access to areas otherwise off-limits to civilians, and our military leaders may be able to provide aid when possible.
There are many important subject that must also be addressed, but these are topics that must be decided amongst themselves, as I have no right to make further decisions for you all. The most important thing, if I may suggest, is the appointment of a leader amongst your group."
"My old men-tour used to encourage this thing where a group of people gather in a circle and take turns talking about themselves", said Irving. "A 'circle of friendship', he called it. In this case, we would probably want to say our names, talk about ourselves a bit, say what special abilities and magic we could use that make us useful in fights and stuff, a line or two about your home world, and maybe say a word about how good you are and how you deserve to be voted leader -- if you want to be leader anyway."
Glinda nodded. "That would be wise. It is best that you all learn how each one of you may use your abilities and how to work as a team. For that end, I shall allow you all to move to our training facilities, should you wish to demonstrate your abilities without endangering anyone else in the room."
Glinda gestured for the guard inside and spoke some words to him. He walked out of the room pulling out what appeared to be a radio. Moments later, the guard re-entered the room and whispered to Glinda. She nodded and raised her staff to open a giant purple portal large enough to even allow the Moron over there to simply walk right through. Past the portal was a large, spacious dome of a room, with a floor of sand. Three assistants stood in attention at the other side of the portal. Though he would not be immediately visible, another mage stood behind the portal in the room the portal led to, holding up an enchanted charm made of amethyst.
"Inside this training hall we have vacated for you all, you will have plenty of space to demonstrate your powers. The facility allows for flexible and liberal creation and placements of various objects and simulations of objects; including straw dummies, magic orbs that may shoot harmless non-elemental magic, physical holograms of humans for demonstrations that require biological implementation, force field barriers, an automatic machine that fires blunt arrows, and holographic simulations of blocks of any material you please, such as metal, wood, or concrete, with their properties. Simply ask the assistants you will find there what you need, and they will form them for you. They can also provide medical assistance, if necessary.
If this is acceptable, I must also ask if you would allow me to observe... I wish to better understand all of you."
