Nobunaga couldn't believe his ears. Circle of friendship? Really? Really? Isn't this just dandy... How the hell am I going to keep my identity hidden and pull this off? Hmm... I may have an idea.
He turns to Glinda. "I am not questioning the structural integrity of your training room, Queen Glinda... But I guarantee it will not hold me. May I request a somewhat... Different approach? Grant me permission to use my powers outside, on the palace steps. My... Performance will be more effective outside. You have my word no harm will come to your people, or to anyone here."
This was the only play he could think of, that didn't involve his identity being reveled... Hopefully she's intelligent enough to agree. She knows he wouldn't do anything to endanger his children...And I shudder to think what will happen with one of these immature... Teenagers in charge.

Location: Traverse Town.
A lone man jumped into the air above a swarm of Heartless and brought his 8-foot long katana down upon them in a vertical stab. He impaled a Zip Slasher and carried onwards to the ground, which ruptured around impact and the assembled Soldier Heartless vanished in a cataclysm of energy. All that remained of the swarm was a large suit of armor with hands for feet, and vice versa. Dragoon Nobodies, allied with the man, landed their Jumps on the armour to no effect. They made a *tink* noise as they bounced off, and returned to Dusk form upon hitting the ground.
Moran forsook his mimicked Masamune, unraveling it back into his left arm. Instead, he planted his feet firmly into the ground and brought his arms into a kata position.
He called out, "Ready kupo? Limit Break! It's morphing time!"
*FLASH*
Location: Ozma's Tent
Joanna checked the card in her hand again. It didn't seem to be anything special...it was just glowing blue. Anyways, she turned to Anthea, unnaturally spooked.
"Um...are we safe now...Miss..."
"Anthea," the cyborg said extending her hand down to shake Joanna's, "just call me Anthea. And you are?"
"Joanna." Joanna replied. She looked around the room, hoping that what Ozma had said was true and that it would clean itself up. Anthea's hologram had stabilized, returning her to her usual outfit of cute but trendy, with pink cat ears (Apparently this didn't phase Joanna at all). She was trying to get her mind in order.
I...I don't know anything that's going to happen. That's new...that's very new. What do I do? I need...I need to get back to the Fantasia. Back to...what are those?
She saw Joanna reunite with Disco and Shoegaze who were hopping down the steps. Joanna pointed them to Anthea.
"That's Anthea. Isn't she pretty? She's a super speed super hero! She just fought a bad guy and I helped beat him! See, he's inside this card now. I caught him. Cards here are like pokeballs for people."
The Dedenne and Shuckle peered over at what Joanna had in her hands, which was her deck, with Rydan's card on top. Disco stopped soon after she remembered that she was blind and could see anything through electrosense except for the fact that the cards existed. Shoegaze on the other hand instantly developed an interest in one of the other cards in the deck. Some Infestation particles drew it out of Joanna's hands, and confirmed the Shuckle's suspicion. The card bore an image of Doctor Celeste.
"Eh? You know that person Shoegaze?"
Anthea watched with interest, trying not to think too hard about her predicament to stay level in time with Joanna. She decided to get her attention.
"Hey...what are those?"
"Oh!" Joanna quickly turned her head, "Sorry, you're from another world right? These are Disco and Shoegaze. They're Pokemon! They're dangerous animals that we tame to help us fight bad guys and make life better. But these ones aren't tamed, it's ok they're safe and cute. Disco is an electric/fairy type and Shogaze is a bug/rock type. Oh and..."
Joanna let her Rattata out, "This is Boogie. He is tamed and was my first Pokemon. Normal type. Has a really awesome combo attack!"
Meanwhile, Shogaze buzzed to Disco about the card situation, and she began squeaking with anticipation and running about happily, sparking at the cheeks.
Anthea followed. Kind of. Time slowed down as she wondered what kind of planet would produce something like that, came up with some theories, considered the probability of humans living in harmony with supernatural creatures...and then moved onto to ask about the deck. She smiled and nodded and then crouched down to Joanna's level
"Hey, they seem to like the person in that card. Since they seem to hold people, maybe we can get whoever he is out of it. Lets go ask someone about the deck. Maybe they could answer some questions I have. Do you know anyone who might know anything?"
Joanna thought for a moment.
"Hm...well there's Ozma but she's busy so..."
Location: Cell Block
Anthea appeared, stepping out of super speed and calling out, "Which one of you is Carl!?"
Appearing might have been a poor move.
"I'm Carl!"
"Carl would be me!"
"I'm Rick! That's almost Carl!"
*Wolf whistle* "You're a cutie!"
"Come a little closer darling!"
"I MAINTAIN AQUIFERS!"
Ah, that would be it. Faster than a blink, she was at a cell door. Faster than a blink again, she returned to the same cell door having left to lift the keys off of a guard. She let herself inside, seeing a bearded man huddled in a corner. He muttered...maybe to himself, probably at her.
"...are you a whale?"
Anthea nodded, "Yes I am. Carl, I'm here to help, but first, what can you tell me about these?"
She held up Celeste's card. Carl's eyes widened, and he quickly pulled a similar card out of his sock. It was a light shade of grey, with an emblem on it. Anthea noted the similarities to Rydan's card, and figured he must have stolen it from Joanna when he had burst into her interrogation.
"...trade?" Carl said nodding furiously, somewhat making sense.
Anthea looked down, and then ran out to get something. She returned in the instant she left, some sort of silver ring in hand. She stole it from some shop keeper's stand...why there's a shop in the middle of a mine/military base was beyond her.
"Trade," She said, holding it out.
Carl accepted, tossing the card to Anthea while putting on the ring, admiring the dazzling ruby embedded in it and the black line that bisected its design. He seemed to have calmed down.
"Thank you Carl," Anthea continued, "Now...tell me anything you want. I want to know everything about these cards, this world, and why you're here."

There was a man named Robert sitting in a cell in some underground caves. This cute girl came in but apparently she's only interested in the crazy one. Figures. But their conversation was interesting at least.
"If I've got this right, these cards have brought us here from our worlds to here right?"
"Mustard."
"Why?"
"Do you hear the people sing? Spalko! Wherefore art thou memory? STOP IN THE NAME OF DOVE!"
"...Alright. Next question. Where am I?"
"Somewhere over the rainbow, where bluebirds fly behind me, and lemon drops are scrumdiddly-umptious!"
"I mean here. What's the deal with this place?"
"We are Groot! The Lorax pines for thee, and all your base are belong to Gozer!"
"So then you..."
"Sleepy! Happy! Grumpy! Dopey! You remind me of the babe! Captain George Vancouver!"
"And this Ozma person. What about Ozma?"
"A whim away! A whim away! Hot hot hot!"
"...thank you. The door is unlocked."
Robert heard the girl depart and sighed. What strangeness...
The Babel Fish is small, yellow, leech-like, and probably the oddest thing in the universe. It feeds on brain wave energy, absorbing all unconscious frequencies and then excreting telepathically a matrix formed from the conscious frequencies and nerve signals picked up from the speech centres of the brain, the practical upshot of which is that if you stick one in your ear, you can instantly understand anything said to you in any form of language, including the garbled language of someone who has had their speech centers tampered with.
Needless to say, all LOTUS such as Anthea have one synthesized into their brain.
Meanwhile, Carl smiled at the two cards he had stolen back from Anthea. Pickpocketing was one magic he hadn't yet lost.
Anthea hadn't noticed, since she was completely preoccupied with getting Joanna out of here quickly.

"This dome possesses a retractable roof", said Glinda, "If even that is not enough,I can arrange to bring you all to an empty field outdoors. However, I must request you follow a few guidelines. First, notify me in advance as for what you plan to do. If I do not notify my guards what to expect, they may instinctively begin firing bullets at your and the other outlanders' directions. Second, practice moderation if you expect your display of power to be able to be seen from about [insert approximate distance from Yuleia to about Yggdrasil's location here] away, in order to avoid receiving the unwanted attention of Ephesus or the abominations.
You may have to wait as a method of taking you all there is arranged. Perhaps you may go last?"
A certain jewel collector visited the trading district for the second time that day to see if he could try again at finding the shop where he found his latest trinket.
Come now, surely she couldn't have--
The trader paused as a Yuleian military guard/attack dog began barking and growling at his direction from several feet away. The soldier walking it pulled on its leash to stop it from running off, but he and his partner followed where it was barking at... right at the trader.
"W-w-what seems to be the problem?" stuttered the trader.
"Our dog here doesn't like you", said the soldier. "Think of any reason why?"
"N-n-n-no sir!" exclaimed the trader. "I've never--"
"F*** it!"
A raspy voice rang in everyone in the surrounding area's heads before the trader screamed in pain as the ring that served as his latest purchase began burning on his finger. He hastily pulled it off and dropped it to the floor. The ring then hovered upward as a dark mist engulfed it. The soldier handling the dog brought up his rifle and shot at the ring. The bullets whizzed right through it as within the gas formed two red hands, a single blue eye, and a chain that connected behind the apparition and through the ring, as if it were a necklace.
"I would've gotten away with this longer, if it weren't for that dumb dog!"
The phantom flew away at high speeds. The soldier with the rifle cursed as the ghost made a beeline toward the palace.
"Call it in!" he commanded his partner.
John Doe was the last person in line to step through the portal. When he heard what appeared to be yelling on the hallway outside the common room, however, he paused. None of the other outlanders -- nor the queen, for that matter -- through the portal seemed to notice.
"A what?!"
"A gho-- there it is!"
Doe heard a gunshot dangerously close to the door to the room as an apparition phased through the door and quickly lunged at him before he could react. He fell backward in a failed attempt to dodge as the ghost passed right by him. The ghost made a U-Turn back out the door, but Zoroark had faster reflexes than anyone else in the room: he struck the ghost with Night Slash, causing it to scream in pain. Something that looked like an arm fell to the floor and dissipated, a collection of Doe's glowing cards left behind.
The rest of the ghost flew past the guards that barged through the door; one swinging with his poleaxe right through the ghost to no effect. The guards, plus another outside with a gun, about-faced to chase after the ghost, but they all probably knew that the ghost was too fast for them to catch up.
John Doe ran toward the dropped cards and began picking them up. He felt relief when all the glowing cards were accounted for.
Good job, Zoroark.
"Looks like ghosts are still weak to dark types", responded Zoroark. "We might just operate on similar physics; at least in terms of type mechanics."
"That one in particular, at the very least", said Ditto. "I would feel more confident should similar trials yield similar results."
"That thing tried to steal everyone!" cried Manaphy. "Daddy, is mommy okay?!"
Everyone looks accounted for... But then again... they could've taken the blank ones. I didn't keep track of how many of those I had.
"Me neither", said Rotom. Grinn also shrugged when looked at.
I don't... think... any were taken...
John Doe stood up, silently cursing himself for focusing too much on the cards with his friends on them to focus on the rest.
...We should join the others.
John Doe and his Pokemon begrudgingly turned around and stepped through Glinda's portal.
"Bah. Thrown in a cell with a lunatic? That simply will not do."
At a certain location a long distance away, a similar ring also burned its wearer, hovered in the air covered by some gases, and formed two arms, a single red eye, and a tether holding the ring around the phantom as a necklace. It passed through the occupant of the cell, stole the cards he held, and observed it. If the ghost had a mouth, it would be frowning.
"Damn. Only two? The other will be mocking me for weeks if I didn't fulfill my quota. That simply would not do."
Deciding to take its chances, the phantom -- cards in hand -- phased through the walls of the rebel encampment on sacred ground and bolted South far faster than a great many creatures could dream of moving.

Nobunaga discreetly motioned for Queen Glinda to follow him, and he led her to the other side of the room, away from the others.
"Before we begin and become too engrossed in these demonstrations, you should know exactly what I have planned. I intend to cause a citywide blackout, hence why I need my demonstration to occur outside. Do not worry. It will only be for a few seconds, just long enough to make my point. I will restore the power immediately afterwards. There will be no chance for any of our enemies to take advantage." He made sure to stress the word 'our'. "However, you will need to inform the populace of the... Training exercise. We don't want people panicking now, do we?"

Location: Ozma's Tent
Anthea appeared in the middle of the completely restored living room. Even the dead body int he corner was now gone. Joanna was jumping up and down on the sofa with her pokemon.
"Joanna!" Anthea said, "We should leave. It's not safe here."
"What?" The young girl replied, "Why?"
"Because..." Anthea was about to return the two cards to Joanna's deck, but she just now realized she was holing two decorated pieces of card stock. Time froze. She ran back outside.
Time resumed. She was back at the cell block. She checked Carl, but noticed that he was both very spooked and also card-less. She swore under her breath as time stopped again and she ran back out, trying to find a way out of the base. Unfortunately, everything she found was an elevator, which would mean she'd have to stop out in the open to operate them.
The base was large but not impossibly confusing. It was maze-like, but had definite circular symmetry. Elevators were spaced at regular intervals. She ducked inside an empty one but noted that it didn't go up, only down, and so she had to find another.
None of the elevators were headed for the surface save for one, and it had people inside it. Which was unfortunate. For the occupants that is. Just before the doors closed, Anthea made her way inside and knocked the three men out before any signals from their eyes could reach their brains. The doors closed...and she waited for a relative eternity as the elevator made its way upwards.
In that time, she player her usual game. She checked the men's possessions and reconfigured her holographic projector to look like one of them. ID cards say none of them have families now, although two of them definitely had them at one point. Apparently, one of them is from the future...the one who has two prosthetic limbs. This other one is wearing a ring on a necklace. Widower. The last one is carrying a photo of Ozma in his wallet...creep. But humans are still humans...so fascinating.
A chime rung but the doors didn't open. Anthea moved to pry the doors apart, but the instant she touched them she heard a sound she really wished she didn't.
"STOPZA!"
The force of whatever nullification field that was brought her completely down to normal. The elevator doors opened to reveal Ozma alongside a few mages and large number of armed personnel. Anthea scowled, and put her hands up, walking out with her head down. Ozma spoke first.
"What do you really look like?"
The hologram turned off, and several of the guards flinched at seeing the horrifically distorted semi-human features of Anthea's LOTUS form.
"You...are beautiful." Ozma said, examining the immensely futuristic life form before her. Anthea stayed silent. Ozma walked up beside her, examining, speculating, and speaking gently.
"I've been watching you."
"Obviously."
"You don't like me."
"Yes."
"There is a ghost heading due south as we speak with two summoning cards, and you're the only one fast enough to catch it."
Ozma stopped in front of her and smiled, continuing to speak.
"If you want to take Joanna into battle with you, fine. But I promise you that my tent is the safest place in the universe right now. Whoever wants those cards has much a much more malicious intent than I do. Now, I'm going to let you go. But if you kill any of us, then you're never getting back to your own world."
Anthea's eyes lit up. Ozma leaned in closer.
"Because I know how to get you back. You help me and I'll help you, alright?"
Ozma got back up and moved to raise her hand, but stopped halfway to say,
"Oh, by the way, you can't trust anything anyone says here. Not Carl, not the Yuleians, not the Ephesians, and most definitely...not me"
She winked and raised her arm completely. The Stopza ended, and Anthea was immediately at Ozma's throat and holding her in the air. Ozma gasped and the guards were about to fire, but then Anthea put the general gently back down.
"...I like your shirt." Anthea said almost menacingly as her hologram reverted back to her typical cat-eared look.
"Thanks. I like the ears." Ozma said cutely, the rhinestone kitten on her tank top glittering in the light.
Anthea vanished, taking off at warp speeds.
Instants later...
The ghost might as well be standing still...but it was completely intangible. Anthea could do nothing to stop its flight or reclaim the cards. In any case...there was nothing she could do but follow it to its destination.
Meanwhile...
Joanna sat on the couch.
"Hm...I wonder where Miss Anthea went..."
She looked over and say Disco sleeping.
"Good idea. Nap time!"

Location: Somewhere in the World of Pokemon
Hugh crouched down and held up one of Xerosic's laser rifles, pointing it at a target at the end of the long hallway. Xerosic himself was standing behind him holding a video camera.
"Okay", Xerosic said, "Laser Rifle model v.2.01 testing... Go."
On cue, Hugh fired. A large laser blast shot out of the rifle, pierced the giant target and burned a deep hole in the wall behind it, traveling an even longer distance even despite the hall's metal plating and the fact that they're currently underground.
"Too much power!", yelled Hugh. "I thought I told you I don't want to fire this thing in Nimbasa and be able to hit someone in Driftveil!"
"It's a work in progress!" retorted Xerosic. "More importantly, check if the internal components got fried."
Hugh pulled the trigger again to test the gun. No response. It wasn't until the third click that sparks began shooting out, burning through the rifle's casing, and began emanating smoke. Hugh was thankful he had the foresight to don his armor for protection.
"...Fried."
Hugh heard the sound of sarcastic clapping as he stood up straight and showed the rifle over to Xerosic. As the self-proclaimed scientist stopped recording and took the rifle, Hugh looked over to the clapping Emma, who was sitting down on the steps behind them in her Essentia attire minus helmet, which sat beside her. Mimi the Espurr also sat in front of her, within snuggling range.
"Progress!" she teased. "It didn't immediately blow up in your hands!"
"Normally, the most people worry regarding firearm use are if the sights are off or the gun jams on you", commented Hugh.
"You try constructing laser rifles from scratch!" retorted Xerosic. "It is no small feat, let me assure you!"
"Keep this up, and the dangerous gun that can cut through metal will be more dangerous on the end that isn't the barrel", said Emma. She picked up Mimi. "Right, Mimi?"
Mimi cried in agreement as Emma cuddled her. Xerosic grabbed another rifle from the rack and handed it to Hugh. He then walked over to a terminal to begin setting up a new target.
"This is model v. 2.02. I tried working backwards for this one. Remember that every failure is still a sign of progress, as it teaches what shouldn't be done!"
Whatever helps you sleep at night.
Hugh crouched and took aim at a new target Xerosic erected. The scientist turned his video camera back on.
"Laser Rifle model V. 2.02 testing..."
*FLASH*
Location: Somewhere within Ephesian Territory
Within the cavern that served as the shaman's home, kept lit by ether lamps hung by the ceiling, the robed man smirked at the return of the blue phantom.
"Do you have it?"
"Yeah, here, whatever. MY ****ING ARM'S OFF, DISMISS ME SO I CAN HEAL!"
The shaman took the cards and dismissed the phantom as requested, reverting into a ring form the shaman wore on his finger. He chuckled as he observed the cards. He didn't seem to mind that the three of them were blank. He took them outdoors from his home and spaced them evenly apart on a stone slab tucked away. Chanting, he ran his hand over the three cards, a trail of shadow coursing from his fingertips into the cards themselves.
"Let the other-worlders awaken from their slumber to fall into shadow. Let their--"
The three cards came to life early. One shine later, and the shaman stumbled to the floor as two humanoid figures and a smaller ball of fur suddenly materialized right in front of him, lying on the ground. The shaman stood motionless as the two figures picked themselves off the ground and looked around to see where they were. Once they saw the shaman, though, the two humans (at least, the bulky one was human. The one with the helmet with an 'E' on it could be an alien for all he knew) took our firearms and pointed them at him. The smaller creature scurried behind a rock.
"W-Well, it looks like you three came early. No matter."
The puffer-fish-headed one suddenly jumped and froze in shock. The other feminine humanoid gradually lowered her uzis.
"Good! Good! You're obedient! Then--"
The shaman also froze after felling a tremor and some pounding behind him. As the two humanoids he summoned slowly backed away from him, he slowly turned around to see a giant beast leering at him with golden eyes. The shaman felt a chill as the beast snorted in his face.
"Alright... SOMEONE'S gonna have to explain what the hell just happened!"
The shaman quivered in fear as he rattled his brain for words to say. He looked back to see the other humans a good distance away from him; the feminine figure having put away one of her two guns to carry the small kitten(?) with them.
"I- We- Listen to me!" yelled the shaman. "I-I-I-I brought you here to another world; called Oz! A-An-And I read from this grimoire how to summon you folks! So I used dark magic to summon you and make you my servants to do my bidding and take over the world and--"
The beast laughed. A great number of snowflake-like creatures came into view, hovering around the frozen beast from another world, looking around... save for one who seemed perfectly content to just spin in place.
"Really? And you seem to expect someone like me takes orders; much less from a boneless little pipsqueak like yourself?!"
"Yes! I mean no! I mean--"
The shaman couldn't get another syllable out, as a large spike made of ice formed out of the ground and impaled him through the chest from below. The spike then retracted into the ground as the beast roared, raised a leg, and stomped over the shaman, leaving a bloody stain and a pair of crushed rings on the floor.
Location: St. Elne -- Queendom of Yuleia
The red phantom flew through the now mostly empty market place as a random trooper chasing it shot a blade of wind magic at the phantom and nearly cleaved it in two.
"Capitol's on high alert? Then the other had been discovered. That simply will not d--"
Suddenly, the phantom cried out in pain and suddenly veered downward toward a shopkeeper standing in front of a stand of cylinders. The phantom flew right at the man, causing him to lose his footing and fall against the stand of cylinders. The phantom dissipated and the two cards it carried fell right into the flood of ether magic caused by the cylinders falling over and breaking; releasing its contents. The shopkeeper clutched his head.
"Awww no! Boss is going to skin me alive!"

"I understand", said Glinda. "Very well, I accept. However, it will take some time for the alert to spread around the capitol. The same applies to finding a suitable space away from civilization for other demonstrations. To that event, may I suggest your turns go last in this circle?"
"Alright everyone", called out Irving after taking in the large dome they will be demonstrating their feats in, "gather around in a circle and take a seat! Don't look so embarrassed, at least I'm skipping the 'hold hands and spread out' part."
"This area is where a great number of soldiers go to train, spar, and practice against simulations of Ephesian soldiers and other hostiles all at the same time", explained Glinda. "Unless you possess special circumstances, you possess a lot of space and freedom available. If even that is not enough, you may notify me and wait and perform last as I am able to find some barren plains outside the capitol for use."
She began walking to the side to speak to a soldier about spreading word of the 'training exercise' they will perform soon.

Emma shielded Mimi's eyes from seeing the shaman get impaled and stomped to death.
"Th-that's Kyurem?!" exclaimed Emma under her breath.
"No doubt about it", said Hugh.
They stood watching as Kyurem scrapped his foot against the floor, as if it was just some small insect he stepped on. He looked at Hugh and Emma. "What're you lookin' at? You look like you're one of those Nova bastards."
"Trust me when I say we're enemies of Nova", said Hugh. He holstered his rifle on his back and gestured for Emma to do the same with her guns as a sign of goodwill.
"Hmph. Fine. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Try to get a shot on me though, you better make it count... You won't get a second. Kapeesh?"
"K-Kapeesh", said Hugh.
"Anyway", said Kyurem, "I guess that bloodstain over there brought us to another world, then?
"Seems like it", said Hugh.
"And he mentioned magic? Like, wizards and swordsmen and other fantasy crap like that?"
"I... guess so", said Hugh. "Anyway, we should--"
Kyurem made a grunting noise. "Then that means... Excellent."
Kyurem turned around and began walking away, his band of Cryogonal in tow. Hugh shouted out after him.
"Hey! Wait!" he yelled. "Where are you going?!"
"Off to find some new domain!" replied Kyurem. "Do me a favor and spread rumors about a dangerous and evil Ice Dragon in the region. Some powerful hunters ought to come knocking, and that means a whole new breed of humans I can do battle with! Gwa ha ha, I can hardly wait!"
"But we should be looking for a way home!" yelled back Hugh. "Don't you want to--"
"We can do that later! Live a little! It's like a vacation!"
Kyurem was a long way ahead now. Hugh was about to angrily retort and possibly blow out his vocal cords when Emma touched his shoulder to stop him.
"He isn't going to listen", she said.
Hugh sighed and began pacing, wondering what to do.
"...What's in that cave over there?"
Emma set Mimi down and ran over to investigate. A few moments later, she returned. "Looks like that guy's house", she said, pointing at the bloodstained ground. "Plenty of supplies for a bit, maybe we can use it as a base."
"Good idea", said Hugh. "Let's lay here for a bit, scout ahead for... anything, really, and then decide how to move on from here.
...There's got to be someone with an idea how to get us back."

Sorry, you aren't going to like this next part.
"...I'm alive?"
In a manner of speaking.
"Why?"
The show must go on Doctor. A new world awaits you in a different story entirely.
"...K. Bring it."
Doctor Phineas Celeste opened his eyes and stood up. He was in a puddle of...something, but the first thing on his mind was the small figure floating on his shoulder next to him.
"Jirachi!"
The wish pokemon wiped the silly look of its face and hugged Celeste's arm, happy to exist again. The relief washed a smile over Celeste's face, but the oncoming people carrying guns forced him to delay his appreciation. He gestured slightly towards the inside of his jacket, and Jirachi dove inside, getting the message.
He looked around, expecting his glasses to give him a more informed look at the world around him, but apparently it couldn't make a connection to his usual database. In fact, he had no access to any of his world-spanning stealth communication networks. He sighed, figuring that he wouldn't have any of his labs for this ordeal, and most definitely not his teleport capsule.
Oh right, people with guns. Celeste stood at attention and raised his hands.
"I'm a good guy. Take me to your leader."
That seemed to cue the person beside him to step up out of the puddle and do the same. Whoever he was, he spoke with exactly the same voice and intonation as Celeste...and also shared his exact body proportions and face, including the glasses. The only difference was the clothes.
"I'm a good guy. Take me to your leader too kupo."
Celeste wanted to facepalm but didn't for dignity's sake.
Under a hologram of a guard, Anthea followed the mob inside the city. She had a lot of questions for these two...but that would wait until they all got inside the castle.

Catie was looking around patiently to see if anybody would go. Yet it seemed like nobody wanted to go, so Catie voulteered. "Hi everyone, my name is Catie, and I come from Arstur," Catie said introducing herself. "Let's see I am good with a sword," Catie said unsheathing the blade by her side. "Let's see oh I am also good with a bow," Catie said while taking out her bow she had slung around her back. "Here watch this," Catie said as she loaded three arrows at once, she aimed at three separate targets that were spaced far apart and at different distances. "Away we go," Catie said as she released the string hitting all three targets dead center. "Finally, i have this whip over here that some nice ladies from Baron's dad place showed me how to use," Catie said as she took out a whip to demonstrating the different techniques she learned.
"Ta da," Catie exclaimed as she was about to take her seat. "Catie aren't you forgetting something?" Sam asked tring to hint at something. "Like what meowy face," Catie asked Sam in confusion. "Your stone and that other form you can take," Sam told Catie. "This stone, yeah its pretty isn't it," Catie said holding her beast stone. "Yeah and can't you turn into something else, like a wolf," Sam said leading Catie along. "Oh yeah can't believe I forgot," Catie said clutching her stone. "Too anyone who doesn't know Catie comes from a special tribe where they can assume the form of a wolf by using a special stone," Sam addressed the crowd as a soft light engulfed Catie.
"So what do you think?" Catie asked as her apperence was that of a 10 ft. Silver wolf. "I remember, when she did this to talk with Charlie," Alyssa whispered to Baron. "Your awfulness, your not scared this time are you?" Kamek said asking Bowser. "Take a look for yourself, sigh lord cluelessness," Kammy said pointing to Bowser. "Save me that vile beast is out for revenge, I am too pretty to die," Bowser said hiding behind the masked freak. "Go on Mario shoot fire at it or something, just know I am too valuable to be eaten," Bowser said in a panic.
"Um? Okay Catie if you don't mind I think everybody has gotten a good look at your form," Baron said as Catie reverted to being human. "Who's next?" Catie asked as Bowser was still to terrified to leave the masked freak's side.

Erebus, within the Iron Palace...
"Pardon?" Ethan inquires incredulously, standing in front of the Emperor's throne, along with his two escorts, General Petrine and General Galahad. The two Elemental Generals had been assigned to be his 'guards' ever since his little stunt the day before, but it was a mixed blessing in Ethan's eyes. General Petrine, the Sorceress of Flame, and Galahad, the Invincible Soldier... While his movements were now greatly restricted, he had learned enough about these two Generals to make it worth it. Galahad was good at heart, but unquestionably loyal to the throne and General Petrine was a woman of ambition. It won't be that difficult to manipulate them.
He had been summoned to the throne a few minutes ago, in the middle of breakfast, to receive new orders and the audacity of that alone had royally pissed him off. But this... This was on a completely different level.
"I think I may have misheard you, Grievous. I am not a guard dog."
Emperor Grievous merely shrugs and grins, completely unfazed. "You will be if you want your two lady friends to remain... Comfortable. Besides, a simple mission like this should be a breeze for a being of your caliber, no? A fraction of my army is marching on the enemy capitol as we speak... You are to use this distraction to occupy Yggdrassil, the World Tree, and guard it from any opposing factions who seek to use its power for themselves. You are to obliterate any who get in your way. What part of that was unclear?"
Ethan grits his teeth. It took all of his considerable willpower not to smash the smug little bastard's head in. ".... Very well. But do not cross me, Grievous. Or we'll find out just how long those devices of yours can last."
Ethan turns on his heel and walks away without waiting to be dismissed. After all, why should he? He did not recognize this pitiful fool as his sovereign. His two guards hurried after him, but he paid them no heed. He made his back towards his bedroom, where he had left Elia and Eon a few minutes prior. Unfortunately, General Petrine lacked the common sense to remain quiet.
"Lord Ethan, should you not be leaving now? Emperor's Grievous's orders are not to be-"
He halts in the middle of the hallway and whirls on her. "Woman, I think you misunderstand your situation. You do not speak to me unless I ask you a question. I am going to finish my breakfast, and you, my little pet, are going to wait out here. And that goes for both of you. If I find you anywhere even near my quarters, you're going to wish I hadn't. Do I make myself clear?"
Before she can answer, he turns and walks away, leaving the Generals in stunned silence. He reaches the door to his room and walks inside, still obviously annoyed. The girls were still gathered around the large dining table, though they had already finished their meal. He forced a smile.
"Sorry about that. It looks like I'm going to have to eat and run."

"So soon? Where are they sending you?"
Elia was in the middle of clearing the table when Ethan returned, and she wasted no time handing him his plate that had barely been touched before he left. While it was true that the servants in the palace would have cleaned, she was used to cleaning up after herself, and to have servants do pretty much anything for her reminded her too much of her time in Cleatia, especially when combined with her plush surroundings and almost regal new wardrobe. She couldn't change the fact that she was stuck inside the palace, and while she could help the part about the wardrobe, she felt it wasn't exactly very modest to walk around in her nightclothes. But she was still holding on to hope that they would soon find her more practical attire, if only because she was expected to fight for this empire.
"And if they are sending you to fight, you need a decent meal. Whatever it is can wait long enough for you to actually eat," she said, her motherly side perfectly clear in her insistent tone.

Location: Yuleia Castle
Offhand, Celeste flipped uselessly through his file manager. Cut off from his usual cloud database, it only had its internal memory, which was substantial but definitely not adequate.
"Hey! They do cloud computing here right?"
Celeste yelled out loud to no one in particular. This would have gotten somewhat annoying after the first few times, except some voice from somewhere was yelling back. So it wasn't just somewhat annoying, it's quite annoying.
"There's a sub-ether information network...?"
"Can that be put in terms of bandwidth?"
"...what is 'bandwidth'?"
"Packet separation along a single one dimensional mathematical parameter that is detectable in all other dimensions. Frequency probably has something to do with it."
"...you know you can come down to my lab and I can show you stuff right?"
"When I finish up here!"
Celeste was in a room identical to the ones offered to the outlanders. He was too busy doing a whole bunch of other things to bother finding out who his conversation partner was, so he just yelled. It seemed to work fine.
Meanwhile, Jirachi was trying to take apart an alarm clock (which is harder than it sounds since it ran completely on foreign technology). At this point, the wish pokemon had the screwdriver embedded in the mass of alien alarm clock guts, and was using his forehead like a hammer to wedge things out of it. It seemed multi-dimensional, judging from that sinking feeling the clock emanated that he had also felt while dealing with Palkia.
Anthea listened in on Celeste's conversation. Interesting...he was definitely a scientific mind, if not a bit obtuse. She couldn't blame him though, what with dealing with a completely new world. It just barely kept her sane staying task oriented.
She zipped over to the other room to give Moran some help with his image. She appeared sitting on his bed waiting for him to finish his latest disguise. Besides the right half of his body, he was currently a rather spindly mess of white protoplasm. Anthea noticed that the robes he had discarded weren't folded, and it bugged her enough to correct that before she spoke.
"Hey. Me again." Anthea said nicely.
"Hey kupo."
Moran stretched his arm out as it metamorphosed into a guard's arm, studying Anthea intently. She was still in the hologram of a Yuleian guard, which made copying the look a lot easier. Unfortunately, adapting his entire body to mimic clothes is a lot harder than simply doing weapons or a face, so it took some time.
"So what's with the "kupo" bit anyways?"
"I learned to talk from the moogles kupo. They say kupo all the time, so it stuck with me."
"I've never met a moogle.
"I think you'd like them kupo. They're cute."
"Not very good for diguise work though, is it?"
"I only say kupo around friends kupo."
The body was complete, as was the face. He began on the clothes, but Anthea zipped out and back again, holding an outfit in her arms.
"You might as well use these."
Moran smiled in thanks and donned the outfit. Anthea disappeared to listen to the other one some more.
"Don't do it. I'm serious. You don't know what you're dealing with."
The voice was trying to tell Celeste what not to do.
"Oh I know," the Doctor replied, "But I really don't care about safety right now."
He had the alarm clock parts stuck on his coat and had something or other wired up to the strange sockets in the walls. They weren't electrical sockets, but the parts he scavenged out of the lamps were good enough adapters, and his jacket was just high-tech enough to serve as an interface.
"Jirachi, Gravity."
The Wish pokemon held up a table as a makeshift shield and reluctantly began to power Celeste's jacket with its Gravity move. Power coursed through Celeste's rig and through the diagnostics he had set up, leaving data scrolling through his glasses.
"Oh...oh this is amazing. Multi-dimensional models are holding flawlessly...it's like magic. This is awesome!"
Those were the last words he said before the rig ruptured in a massive blast of magic and threw Celeste through seven walls before he cleared the castle, hit the ground outside, and exploded, creating a crater in the middle of a barren field.
He shook himself and got up smiling. Whatever that was, it kicked his usual gear into overdrive. He wasn't even mad.
(The castle guards were though, and promptly had him relocated to the dungeon).

"Well, it looks like I'm next", said Irving. He walked over to an assistant controlling the facility's functions and they briefly discussed instructions. Irving reloaded his rifle and made sure all of his slots were ejected.
"Hello everyone, my name's Irving Jailus. I had a crappy childhood as a slave until I was rescued by my teacher. Now I get by working as a mercenary. You see this?" He raised his ryfel for everyone to see. "This... is my boomstick. Called a ryfel."
Within the circle, John Doe wanted to correct him on his pronunciation of "rifle", but decided against it.
"Nothing else like it back in my world, as far as I know. Looking around, this world has others like it, but this one is mine." Irving nodded at an assistant as a straw dummy materialized in front of him. "Now, you see this thing here? That's where you put these things Haled called 'magazines' (for some reason) of these magick cylinders." He held up one of said magazines. "You stick them in here to make sure the weapon is loaded, and you fire this trigger to shoot the cylinders out of this end of the gun here." He pointed to the end of the barrel. "Of course, if I shoot it by itself", he demonstrated by firing at the dummy. A cylinder shot out and hit the dummy with a thud, but didn't seem to make any significant damage. He automatically pulled the rifle's bolt. "...Then nothing seems to happen aside from basically punching them from far away. But that is where these come in." He pointed to his belt of slots. "These slots correspond to the seven circles of magick in my world. If I take one of these slots and insert them here." He demonstrated using his Type-7 shot. "Then the next time I fire something, the slots will enchant the cylinders as it passes through this barrel. This lets me use many kinds of magick when folks in my world can't have more than one."
"I'll go over what each slot does to the cylinders. Right now, I have a type-7 slot put in." He fired his gun. This time, a white projectile shot out and hit the dummy with a small blast. "It turns the cylinder into a type-7 -- that is, pure magick -- projectile. If I hold down the trigger..." He did so, with his ryfel shaking slightly and the inside of the barrel illuminating white slightly as he did so. He let go and a slightly larger and faster projectile shot out. It hit the dummy in the head, blowing it apart. "It gets stronger", he concluded.
He ejected the slot and inserted a red Type-6 slot. "This is a type-6 shot. In my world it's elemental magick. In my case, it's fire." He moved slightly closer to the dummy and fired a fiery round, setting it on fire. "This one is more for closed ranged combat. Also, I forgot to mention, but the slots will overheat if I use 'em too much, except for the type-7 one which never does. If it overheats, I can't use it no more until it cools down after some time. This one overhears after 16 shots."
He ejected the slot and inserted a black type-5 slot. "This is type-5; 'life' magick for plants and animals and stuff. Of course, my 'life' magick is shooting out poison that kills anything it touches." The dummy on fire suddenly vanished into light as a fake guy in light armor took its place. Although Irving wouldn't know, it was a simulation of an Ephesian footsoldier. Irving fired and a small bit of a black liquid shot out and hit the soldier in the neck. After a short period of time, the soldier dropped to the ground and began undergoing convulsions until lying still. The simulation then ended in a flash of light. "Overheats after six shots."
He ejected the slot and held up an orange type-4 slot. "This is type-4; 'Illusion' magick. This overheats after two shots and I already shot that closed-minded idiot over there", he pointed at the addled Type-3 user in question, "so no demonstration. This shoots out a rainbow gas that messes with the part of the brain that lets people use magick or whatever. Basically, it messes up their senses all bad-like so they can't focus and use their magick properly. That said, that guy over there has had the strongest reaction to it I've ever seen. I ain't never seen it just make someone stupid like that."
He put the slot away and held up a blue type-3 slot. "This is type-3; 'Dee-men-shio-nall' magick. Overheats after a shot and I shot that same guy over there, so no demo. It takes a few seconds to charge, but it shoots this blue traingle-thing. If it hits something, it traps them in some kind of magick crystal you can still pass by and can't actually touch, but it slows down their movements to a snail's pace and the person trapped isn't aware of it. To them, everything else just moves super fast. It lasts seven-ish minutes in normal time. Also, if they're throwing a punch, don't get hit by it even though it's going slow, because it'll still hurt like normal. There's a reason why... I just don't know it. When people were havin' formal educations, I was readjusting to society. Deal with it."
He put the slot away and inserted a purple type-2 slot into his gun. "Anyway, this is type-2; Death magick. Watch this." Another simulation of a soldier popped up. Irving took a minute to charge a shot, then fired a slow moving skull. It hit the simulation and instantly the soldier's bodied virtually decayed before falling into virtual ash. "Instant death against living stuff", said Irving. "Overheats after one shot, but cools down after about ten minutes or so."
He ejected the slot and inserted a yellow type-1 slot. "Type-1; Holy Magick." This time, an orb of light appeared. Irving charged a bit before shooting, causing a rectangular wall of light to appear. The orb fired off small shots of harmless magick at it, which the wall stopped. "It causes a wall of light to appear." He ejected the slot and began inserting the Type-7 slot again. "It stops most magick from going through from the front for thirty seconds. As for the back..." Irving fired a shot at the orb of light through the wall, dispelling it. "You can attack just fine. It only works for magick though, so it's bad for when they start throwing axes at you. Three shots before overheat."
Irving put his ryfel away. He then unsheathed his machete and faced his audience. "But that's not all. There is... something else... That I don't like. You see, when I feel a lot of pain, I kinda... Turn into an ass**** with an obsession for carnage. I also get a little dumber too, since I tend to forget about my ryfel 'til someone points it out to me. At the same time though, I become ten times stronger and ten times faster, plus I stop feeling pain. Sure, I can stop it by shooting myself with a type-4 shot, but I can't always do it.
That said, I can also do the opposite... Which is exactly what I'm going to do to demonstrate how my 'crazed' version is like."
Violating what little common sense he had, Irving sliced his arm with his machete. He screamed in pain and fell to the floor clutching his arm. After some heavy breathing and some shaking, he suddenly stood up and approached a stack of 5 cinderblocks on top of four stands, like what a martial artist would arrange to break a block of wood or stack of not-five-cinderblocks. Irving faced his audience raised his fist, and brought it down through all five blocks as it were nothing.
"Impressed? You better be.
...Also, I'm from Austur. Horrible place to live, really."
He scowled at his audience as he approached an assistant to tend to his self-inflicted injury.

Celeste didn't resist as he was tossed into some sort of reinforced cell that didn't have a single technological thing in it. They stripped him of his jacket too, although they had to leave it in the crater outside since a combination of hyper gravity and nullification fields prevented anything, magical or not, from being able to lift it. He figured Jirachi might be able to finagle it though later.
But anyways, more important things to think about now. He had to incorporate at least 8 extra dimensions into his usual transference equations...
"Well that was stupid of you."
Celeste looked around. Whatever that voice was, it's still talking to him. He called out.
"Yeah, but it was fun. All that matters really. Where are you? How are you talking to me?"
"I'm bouncing magic off your glasses. Only you can hear me."
Celeste rolled his eyes, "Sure. I talk to myself a lot anyways. Mind keeping an eye on my jacket? I think it might start a black hole. Which I could help prevent, maybe."
"We're working on it, just give me an hour or so and it'll be adjusted to this world's physics just fine."
Well so much for bluffing. Celeste called out again.
"You seem smart. And you know I'm brilliant. What say I help you out a bit? With magic at your disposal this place could really use a UI upgrade."
"Eh...if the Queen lets you live. Come find me on B5. Ask for Nelson."
Celeste paused.
"...did you seriously just say Nelson?"
"Mhm. Bye now."
Sigh. Figures.
...Right, equations. Work to do.

"Thank you Elia," Ethan replies, smiling, as he sits down at the table. "I'm being sent to occupy Yggdrassil, the World Tree, which is apparently under enemy control, and guard it until Grievous can send more forces to secure it. It's odd... I didn't expect to find a version of Yggdrassil in this world. It's apparently the source of all magic here as well."
-------
Nobunaga watched Irving's little... Performance in amusement. He really hasn't changed at all. Still... So far, no one else seems to realize this isn't all about combat... Your combat strengths are important, true, but that's not what really matters. I need to know more about all of you if I'm going to lead you... Well, at least the day is young. Perhaps the others will not be so foolish.

"There is a great World Tree in this world and in yours as well? I wonder... What does it look like? In Austur, it is only a sapling."
Upon thinking of the tree back home, it was clear that Elia's fondest memories were all somehow related to it. Her homesickness was nearly too much for her to contain, but one thought persisted at the back of her mind. If there was anywhere in this new world where should might find answers about how to get home, anywhere to find answers to if she would see her husband and children again... It would be at Yggdrassil.
"I need to visit Yggdrassil sometime. I don't know when, or how, but I must find a way eventually," she said to herself, unaware that she was speaking out loud.

Poor girl... She's likely not used to being away from home... As much as I miss my wife and son, I'm used to being apart from them, and I know they're safe with the rest of my family.
"The tree in my world stretches all the way into the heavens," Ethan says, smiling at the memory. "Why don't you come with me, Elia? We both need to investigate the World Tree, and now is as good a time as any. I'm not expecting much combat, though something tells me you might appreciate the chance to let off some steam anyway."

"I think that you have a good idea. Maybe I can find some answers while I'm there," she said after forcing herself back to reality, to the present. "But what about you, Eon? Will you come with us?"
