Thinking back, I've broken all of these safety rules before... Since there weren't any rules about it in Austur.
Irving turned the lever on the Grayjack he held (his own ryfel slung behind him) and turned to the auto-fire option, as he already knew what single fire was like and figured the 3-shot fire would be the same. He picked out a target, aimed (noting the difference in sights compared to his own ryfel, although otherwise appearing to be similar enough to work with), and emptied the entire magazine of his run toward the target. The first shot hit accurately, but the following shots hit wildly different parts of the target, if not outright miss, clearly unaccustomed to the recoil the gun shot back. He looked at the paint blots where his bullets hit, then looked unamused at the grayjack.
Sticking with single fire.

Barker's surprised by the results. The smart-ass is right where he expected, capable but in need of more practice with Oz weaponry. The tail-girl's surprisingly capable. Battleaxe... not so much. The sharp one's got a lot to learn, but he may at least be salvageable. "Alright, give the pistols a try, then get ready for the exam!"
June hesitantly puts the rifle down after missing several more shots, not even managing to hit a target when firing at the closest targets. She picks up her pistol, managing to get the magazine in easily enough, but it takes several tries to work the slide right. She finally manages to get the thing ready to fire, points it at a target, carefully imitates the stance from Barker's demonstration, aims down the sights, gently squeezes the trigger... and nothing happens. She remembers the safety and tries again. Miss, miss, miss, miss... One of the shots barely grazes a dummy's shoulder.
"Alright, time for your test! Waves of dummies will appear in front of you, and your job is to neutralize them. The first wave will be a single target at long range. You have three shots with the rifle, five seconds. Make ready... begin!"
June raises her rifle and quickly fires three shots as a dummy springs from the floor near the wall. None of them are even close, but at least she didn't drop her rifle again.
"Next wave! Rifle, burst fire! Three dummies, mid range, four bursts, ten seconds! Ready, begin!"
June manages to take a finger off one of them. She groans in frustration.
"Full auto test! Five dummies, close range, empty your mags! Fifteen seconds!"
June aims everything she has left at the center of the group. One of them got a serious boo-boo.
"Pistols at the ready! Four dummies will pop up, take them out!"
A dummy pops up and June takes careful aim, lining up a perfect shot at his chest. She squeezes the trigger just as it drops back into the floor and another springs up to the side. She ends up hitting none of the four.
"Two tests left! Ten dummies for each of you, and you've got three grenades apiece! You need at least eight down to pass! Thirty seconds, begin!"
June grabs one of her grenades angrily as two groups of five dummies spring up in her lane. She chucks the grenade, remembering the pin as it leaves her hand. It doesn't explode, but she still knocks a dummy's head off. She grabs another, pulls the pin, and chucks it at another dummy. It bounces off and coats the other nearby dummies in paint. She tosses the other at the other group, waiting a few seconds. It explodes in the center of the group and eliminates them all.
"Final round! Ready your rifles, duck, and take cover behind the counter," Barker commands. June drops down and angrily fixes her rifle. A transparent magic barrier appears behind the group at the range. Four armed troops step out of a hidden door at the end of the range wearing armor and thick visors. Each of them takes up position near the far wall, rifles aimed towards the trainees. "Your final test is a live-fire exercise! Don't worry, they're using non-lethal rounds! Still, if you 'die,' you fail! You'll need to use the counter for cover and take your partner out first! Begin!"
June pokes her head out, and a paint round immediately sails over her head, splattering against the barrier. She jerks back down. The next time she rises up, she leads with her rifle barrel, firing several shots in her target's general direction. He drops to a knee and responds in kind. After several seconds, something thuds into her forehead.
"June, dead!" one of the aides calls out.
A pink silhouette lines the wall behind the soldier.

Irving took a spot by the edge of the cover provided to the Outlanders. He poked his head out for a look, and only barely ducked out of the way as a few bullets wheezed overhead. As he laid his back against the cover, he saw the bullets continue and strike a barrier he wasn't aware materialized before.
This gave Irving an idea. He placed the grayjack on the ground to his side and slung his ryfel toward his hands. He inserted a Type-4 slot, held it up and pointed toward the soldiers as if to blind-fire, and pressed the trigger to spray the gas and covered the area in front of him; a few more bullets blindly flying overhead. After doing it twice for good measure, he ejected the slot and replaced it with a Type-1. With the cover of smoke he made himself, he rose up, held down the trigger to charge, and then fired in front of himself, erecting the a barrier of light in front of him. As the smoke dissipated as a result of the magick-blocking wall of light shooting outward, Irving slung his ryfel behind him again and bent down to retrieve his grayjack. He poked his head out again and found his target kneeling and pointing his target at him, hesitating to shoot at the barrier, unaware that unless their bullets were magical in nature, they would still effortlessly pass by.
Irving raised his rifle and shot a three-round burst at his target's chest, his shots passing through the barrier and hitting their mark. A dirty trick, but anything goes in a fight. Irving ducked back behind the real cover.
I can handle three-round too, it looks like.

Catie after taking time to get use to the pistol, took a couple of deep breaths and braced herself for the exam.
Catie took up the rifle and prepared herself for the first wave of dummies.
"Those hugs are as good as mine," Catie said as her first three shoots ended up hitting the dummies right in the head.
The second wave was even easier for Catie as she managed to get a couple of dummies in the forehead, one in the chest, and another in the throat.
The auto round was a little tough for Catie as the recoil kinda of threw her shoot off a bit 2 of the dummies were dead with head shots, one of them right in the arm, one right in the leg, and another on the side. Catie sighed that it wasn't 5 clean hits.
Next came the pistol round and Catie was able to get the dummies in the face as they were coming up.
The fourth round with the grenades were easy for Catie having learned from her previous blunder she took out all the dummies with no problem.
Catie was really proud of herself up to this point, having pay careful attention to Sgt. Bob Parker, Sam coaching her, and her experience with the bow she was feeling confident.
The final round was upon her in which she had to dodge the attacks and land a strike on the solider. "Sam I am kinda of nervous, I mean targets don't fire back when I was practicing," Castle said crouching behind the counter.
"Your doing great so far Catie just remember everything up until this point, concentrate on your surroundings, use your sences to to your advantage, remember the training in the Cathedral when those ladies you were launching spells at you while you were trying to ready your bow," Sam said as Catie nodded her head yes. "Well this time the " arrow" is already loaded all you have to do is aim," Sam told Catie
"Yeah Sam is right just breath and focus," Catie said as she closed her eyes and focused on the environment. Catie was able to smell the bullets ass they were being fired, also Catie was able to pick up the sounds the rifle makes every time its fired. After a few bullets go sailing over Catie's head, Catie was able to pick up on a certain rythem, and she noticed there was a time she can shoot in between each shoots. Catie waits for moment to strike and as soon as that moment is ready Catie pops up rifle ready to go and hits the solider right in the visor and she pops down just as the bullet grazes her hair.
"Yay I did it," Catie said very excitedly

"Hold fire, hold fire! Weapons safe!" Barker orders. When all the weapons are back on the table, the barrier drops. Three of the assistants downrange slump back off in defeat, while the last says something to them with a confident smirk.
"Let's see how well you can use an axe," June thinks to herself as she wipes her face clean. "I told them this class can't equip these gun things."
Barker slowly approaches the group as an aide runs up and hands him a clipboard loaded with papers. He rifles through them as he strides forward - a bunch of analysis from the exam results. Not that he needs to look at it, he did watch the exam. The sharp one improved even over the course of the exam - significantly. Interesting. The wolf-girl's surprisingly talented when she's not screwing around, and that reaction time's almost inhuman. No surprises from the Smartass, high marks all around. Though that stunt with the barrier wasn't in the spirit of the test. Oh well, any dirty trick to win a fight. Battleaxe... Barker decides he could pull a random little kid passing by on the street in here and they'd do a better job. Enough pretending to look at papers while thinking to himself.
"Let's see. Catie, Irving. The two of you have my official authorization to requisition and use rifles. Seraph, you as well, provided you spend a bit more time training first. Catie, Irving, Seraph, all three authorized for pistols. Irving, June, Seraph, authorized for grenades." He points at June, then Catie. "Never touch a gun again. Never touch a grenade again. Now, then. You have exclusive use of this range until noon. You're free to practice with our weapons, and we'll give you some instruction, or you can use your own weapons. If you prefer, I can demonstrate some specialized weaponry: shotguns, sniper rifles, grenade launchers, light and heavy machine guns, miniguns... Fun stuff."
An aide runs over and hands him a small package. "Sir, the uniform you requested."
"About time!" he yells angrily, changing as if someone flicked a switch. He reverts to a friendly demeanor just as suddenly. He walks over to Catie and slips the package into her hands. "Your change of clothes for whatever that thing was." He wraps his arms around her.
June turns back to the range and pulls out her bow. "Such a strange design," she thinks to herself. She pulls out an arrow. "And such a strange material." She takes a few seconds to figure out how exactly to aim the foreign weapon, then nocks the arrow. It's much lighter than the bows she's used to, but it still feels like it can handle a much stronger draw. She elects to test this theory, pulling the string back much farther than she normally would. She lets the arrow fly, and it chips the shoulder off one of the targets, embedding itself deep in another's stomach. "Not good enough," she decides, readying another arrow.

Catie eagerly returned the hug and thanked the drill Sgt. "Okay now its my turn to show you what i meant by fighting as a wolf," Catie said taking out her beast stone. "Okay all i have to is this and here we go," Catie said as she said a silent prayer to the stone asking for its power. "Oh almost forgot one thing," Catie said as she stopped mid prayer. "I would love to learn about the sniper rifle after this," Catie said as she went back to her prayer.
As Catie finished her prayer a bright light erupted from the stone engulfing Catie. Catie began her transformation and along the way her dress that she was wearing was torn to pieces. Finally, when the light receeded in the place of Catie was a huge Silver Wolf. "See this is what i meant about fighting as a wolf," Catie said to Sgt. Bob Parker.
"Any questions?" Catie asked

"Interesting," Barker muses. "Very interesting. Seems you Outlanders really do have a few tricks up your sleeves."
Most of the aides react with awe, while some of the dog-loving aides react with "awwww..."
"I do have one question," Barker says. "Why would you need to throw a grenade with your tail? How could you squeeze the handle and pull the pin without thumbs?"
June looks on in silent wonder. "I've never seen transforming rip up their clothes before... but I've never seen a laguz that big before, either," she thinks to herself, before having a sudden realization. "Every time I've seen a laguz transformed, they've been... T-their clothes... W-well, they had fur, but..." She forces the train of thought from her head.

"I think they intentionally showed you their hand," Vincent says. "Whether it's because they're bluffing, or they have a hidden ace up their sleeve... I'm not sure, not yet. But I think Ephesus wanted you to know they had this new technology, and I think that's something you should carefully consider. What I truly cannot understand, however... Is why are they after Yggdrasil? Do they have some way to tap into its power? I serve as the guardian of the World Tree back in my world, and I know better than most just how difficult that is. A World Tree... It is an old, primal source of power, born from the very dawn of its respective universe... In order to tap such a power, it would require a source of infinite energy, a direct line to the very primal forces that birthed the tree. If Ephesus had something like that, why go through the trouble of invading? They could simply wipe out their enemies from the comfort of their homes, in the blink of an eye. It all seems so... Contradictory."
---------
Ethan sat down on the grass at the foot of the mountains and crossed his legs, waiting for the Yuelian General to show. He closed his eyes, his back to the world tree far behind him.
"Elia, can you hear me? Have you found anything of note inside the tree?

I feel less like I'm in the world's source of magic and more like I'm in the mind of a madman. Is that an adequate description? Elia thought in response to Ethan's question.

"Perhaps they seek something that does not require tapping into Yggdragsil's power," said Glinda. "Much like how we seek the spring beneath the tree's branches to revive Cia. Or perhaps they wish to see if the tree possesses a bountiful quantity of ether energy -- a renewable power source -- to use as they desire. Unfortunately, I'm afraid we can only speculate regarding their motives. What we do know, however, is that the Ephesians wish to conquer Yggdrasil, and for that reason alone, we must hinder their progress."
"I was an actor, once," said Joshua, swallowing the last of his food. "Now, I'm just a humble egg smuggler... As in unhatched Pokemon eggs, not breakfast eggs."
Joshua finished his drink and nodded as a butler picked up his plate. He stood up, brushed his shirt slightly, and then held out a hand for Junior to hold. "Come on. There's some stuff I have to do."
Irving watched Catie's demonstration for a moment before approaching Barker. "Hey," he said. "what's a minigun?"
If it's 'mini' enough, I might carry around more weapons than just a rifle or my ryfel, a pistol, and my machete. Anything too big would be too bothersome to lug around."
Yggdrasil - Southwestern Path
In a not-often-traversed path to Yggdrasil, eight large men in crimson wear moved downhill. Of them, six carried near-identical metal rods over their shoulders, and one carried a large, bandaged sword, trailing behind an even larger man who walked in front of all of them. Their leader, whose mere presence elects a murderous aura, which would make weaker-willed individuals tremble. Although his cohorts were armed with machetes and an assortment of blades, axes, and firearms, he carried only a few throwing tomahawks with him. They, his raw strength, and the blade carried behind him would be enough for the duel he challenged the Ephesian Outlander.
Alexus clenched his fist in anticipation for the duel, a small burst of fire erupting. The eight legionaries wordlessly walked onward.

Arceus sat at a perfectly set table. She was less than satisfied but at least she wasn't as distressed as her guests. Palkia and Dialga had even gotten bored at this point and moved on to other realms.
Oh yeah, the guests. Anthea, Ozma, and Rydan were in chairs opposite her. Rydan and Anthea weren't concious yet (and who knows if they will be), but Ozma was sipping tea in an effort to absorb her current situation, and the context making itself realized in her mind. In Arceus's opinion, she uses way too much milk in her tea.
"How much longer?" Ozma asked after some point.
Arceus shrugged.
"That's out of my hands. Might as well make yourself comfortable." She gestured towards her sleeping table mates, "Comfort will unfortunately only last until those two wake up, probably."
"...can I go somewhere to meditate? It's been a while since I've been free to do so."
"Sure."

Barker smiles mischievously, before signaling to a group of aides. They disappear through a set of doors into a supply room. "The minigun is the biggest, baddest, loudest piece of '**** you' that our boys deploy in the field," he explains. "The things are so big, most of the larger ones have to be painstakingly mounted on a fixed position. Some of the smaller ones can be mounted on specially-trained komodos and carried into battle. Only the strongest of our infantry units - I mean the best of the best of the best - can even think about carrying the things around. And when they fire the things, they tend to go skidding back several feet. Fortunately for you..."
The group returns, wheeling a small platform with a tripod mounted on top. And mounted to that tripod is a massive metallic monstrosity of belts, gears, and barrels with a chain of brightly-colored rounds feeding into its back from a box. The aides slide the platform against the counter and deploy some legs from the base of the platform, locking it in place.
"This is the CAW-6 Revenger, one of the biggest miniguns we keep in service. Definitely not one of the ones small enough for a person. 620 pounds, 7 barrels. Fires 30mm rounds up to over two miles, at a rate of over 4000 a minute. That's over 60 bangs a second."

"Okay then Joshie love to see some of these I would love to see these eggs sometimes," Bowser Jr. said taking Joshua's hand.
(If you want Me. Crow just assume Lana told Alice all the little details on the walk there)
While Bowser Jr was getting ready to leave Lana was entering with Alice.
"So yeah as I went into town to get some help that's when I saw the hero's appear, from a bright light" Lana was telling Alice. "Anyways after being discovered by this little one (while pointing to Charlie)," Lana told Alice. "Anyways I couldn't just leave everybody so I brought them to the safe house," Lana said. "So yeah that's how Bowser became an honored guest here," Lana said
"Oh hi there Bowser," Lana called out to Bowser who was just sleeping there after having another cart full of meat.
"Hey Lana is it?" Baron asked.
"Yes, have we met kind sir," Lana asked Baron confused how she knew her name.
"First off I like to offer my sincerest thanks for finding my wife and bringing her here safely," Baron said.
"Wife...... Oh you must mean Catie, yeah she was such a joy to have around," Lana said.
"That's good to hear, oh yeah me and my friend Mario were going to spar afterwards you and your friend wanna come along and watch," Baron told Lana.
"Oh hey Alice I know you been looking for Mario and ask him something," Lana said.
"Oh how can I use a grenade as a wolf, just watch," Catie said taking a grenade. "See all I have to do is this and ta da," Catie said as she grabbed a grenade with her tail. Catie brought the grenade to one of her fangs where she slipped the pin out and tossed the grenade with her tail just seconds before some dummies were ccoated with paint.
"I will never tell Sgt. Bob Barker that I was really just goofing off I don't wanna be yelled at again," Catie thought to herself.
"Anyways after I change into the new cloths and well back can you show me these sniper rifles you were talking about?" Catie asked the Sgt. while giving him puppy dog eyes to the max.

Irving frowned at the large behemoth of a gun Barker exhibited.
I mean, I might be able to carry it if I wanted to, but...
"...Why's it called the minigun when it's that big?" he asked.

"It's called a minigun because it's a scaled-down version of the original. The original design was much, much bigger. They would've become the cornerstone of Yuelia's defensive network, if it weren't for the mortars. Ah, well, those are good, too. Anyway, sniper rifle. Great for long-distance combat. Exceptional range and accuracy, unparalleled penetration. Capable of punching a hole in just about anything, though it's large and unwieldy in close quarters. Has a lot of recoil, too." Barker grabs a black box with a handle and a long, thin tube extending from it. "The Neo40 Eternal is our current go-to." He places it on the table in front of Catie, unfolding a pair of legs on the barrel. "Semi-automatic. Some older sniper rifles require you to slide the bolt back between each shot, but modern ones work like a pistol. Also, the scope on this thing has several different settings - optic, thermal, and infrared. Switch between them with this thing." "O-oh, yes!" Alice says hesitantly. "Um... M-Mr. Mario... While I was cleaning your room, I... had a small accident. I tried to move a flower on your nightstand and... I think I... broke it. AndalsoIthinkitmademelikethis." She tugs at her skirt to emphasize her point.

Ugh.
Irving scowled and crossed his arm as Barker displayed another large firearm, watching silently.
With Junior close behind, Joshua left the cafeteria and traversed the palace to a room he received directions to the previous day. Opening the white double doors to the place he was instructed, he passed through the thin corridor leading further inside. It lead to a rather cramped area that serves as the front reception; a well dressed middle-aged man sitting on a swivel chair behind a desk, and electronically locked door leading further inside. The only other thing in the small, chilly room were three seats lined against the wall.
Well, let's hope there's actually space for more than four people to move around in further inside.
Joshua approached the man sitting behind the front desk. "Hello, I'm supposed to be here to investigate some... cards?"
"Ahhh, the Outlander? John Doe, right?" said the man. Joshua noted a nametag reading "Burringham."
"Joshua, actually," he said. Clearly, they received outdated info. "But yes."
"Well, welcome to the science branch, Joshua." said Burringham, standing to shake Joshua's hand in greeting. Looking down, he finally noticed Junior holding Joshua's hand. "And what might we have here?" he asked, his tone slightly devolving into a slight baby-talk-esque voice as he leaned over for a better look. "Awww, he's adorable! Is it one of your Poke-mon things? Very interesting! What's it called?"

"I may have an idea," Nobunaga suggests, after a few moments deep in thought. "A World Tree is an extremely powerful source of magic, yes, but more than that, it serves as a kind of anchor for the world it oversees. It's like the planet's heart, and is interconnected with the rest of the universe. It is my belief that your World Tree is particularly powerful, and that is what allowed your Sorcerer to summon so many from so far; because the branches of your World Tree extend beyond this universe. If that is the case, I should be able to form a direct link to it. In my homeworld, I served as the guardian to our own World Tree, and am uniquely gifted with insight to the inner workings of magic as a result. I will need some time to... Meditate, if you will, but if I can form a link to the World Tree here, on OZ, I would be able to serve as a direct conduit to the World Tree's magic. In essence, Queen Glinda, I would be able to call upon a small portion of the tree's magic at will. I would then be able to both heal your Sorcerer myself and discover what the Ephesians were after. I may even be able to prevent them from acquiring it."
He pauses to finish his tea and the last of his breakfast before continuing. "However, this is not without its risk. By attempting to form a link with Yggdrasil, I may attract... Unwanted attention. Attention we may not be ready to deal with yet. I will leave the final decision in your hands, Queen Glinda. So tell me... What would you have me do? Do you believe it to be worth the risk?"
------
Ethan didn't budge from his spot on the soft grass, and his eyes remained closed. As still as a statue, he directed all his energy inward. The gears in his mind spun like clockwork, and his senses flowed outward in every direction, giving him perfect clarity of his surroundings, allowing him to see far, far more than he could with solely his eyes. On the outside, his body glowed with a faint golden light and the grass around him rippled in waves, like in an unseen wind.
He remained silent for a few minutes before answering Elia's silent message. "That is enough, yes. Thank you, Elia. Continue your search for a while longer, then come to my position, but remain unseen. I want to see how our enemies will react if they think the tree is unguarded."
Movement to the west of his position caught his attention. Ah... And it seems I'm about to have company. Splendid.

"Do you see it, my master?! DO YOU SEE IT?!" Legretta cackles wildly as she dances gleefully through the sky, swiping at lines in the air, unseen to all save her and her master. "I... I can't believe our fortune!!! It's... It's a Nexus! We're sitting atop a giant Nexus, large enough to swallow a galaxy whole! Think- think of the power! The might, the energy, the life, the death, the EVERYTHING at our fingertips!!!! From here, we could control a hundred, no, a THOUSAND universes!!! We could do anything, anything at all!!!"
"Indeed," her Master agreed. "But first things first, my dear."
The Dark One strode across the hellish island in leaps and bounds, swelling in size and power. His legs were like mountains, crossing the length of entire valleys in a single step. Space distorted around him, and the ground quaked and shook like thunder, as the illusion grew more and more terrible and terrifying by the second. Meanwhile, the real Jeckel walked within his creation, casually humming to himself, both of them in complete sync.
"We have guests to greet," they said.

Catie was eager to try out the sniper rifle but currently in her wolf form was unable to really do anything. Mr. Parker hold on one minute just need to change.
Catie then went over to one of the female assistant and asked if she can lead her to a place where she can change. Catie and the assistant then went to a private dressing room and Catie went inside while the assistant stood guard. A couple minutes later Catie exited back in her human form wearing the uniform of the other assistants.
"Okay Sgt. Barker I am ready for a demonstration, if you are," Catie said as her tail was wagging behind her in anticipation.
Location: Castle; Research Facility
Bowser Jr looked at the researcher confused to what he was asking. "Poking Man, what's that?" Bowser Jr wondered aloud. Bowser Jr then remembers seeing those weird creatures when he was hanging out with those kids. "Oh yeah those, I am not a Pokerman, I am Prince of the most fearsome race ever in the history of the Mushroom Kingdom," Bowser Jr. said. "My dad is King of the Koopas a race so feared that it sends Toads scattering, ha ha ha," Bowser Jr. said with a bit of a laugh.
"Anyways Joshie got stuck on babysitting duty, and he has the honor of watching over me," Bowser Jr said
Location: Dining Area
"Whoa whoa whoa," Mario let out. "(What exactly happened again)?" Mario asked. Unfortunately, when Mario asked it came out as Itilian. "Ma Ma Mia," Mario sighed.
"First off are you the Princess Lana, Bowser was talking about?" Starlow asked Lana.
"Yeah that's me, Princess Lana, sorry I didn't get a chance to introduce myself to you, Mario, and Baron, I was taking a nap during the introductions," Lana said.
"That's okay, its nice to finally make your acquantance my name is Starlow and this is Mario," Starlow said to Princess Lana. "Oh about what happened to your mom, Mrs Glinda sorry bout that?" Starlow said to Lana who was unsure what she was talking about. "How we ended up during a demonstration with June we accedently hit your mom with a Tanooki Leaf and she turned into a Tanooki complete with fluffy ears, and a tail," Starlow said.
"That happened, oh my Roshi I would have love to have seen that," Lana said busting out laughing.
"Anyways how can Mario help your friend?" Starlow asked.
"Well my friend Alice was cleaning your room, and well when she saw this weird flower on your night stand she lifted it to clean around it," Lana said. "After she touched it she noticed her clothes had changed to what you see now," Lana said pointing to Alice's skirt.
"I thought you said you put away everything," Starlow said towards Mario.
"Ma Ma Mia," Mario let out.
"Anyways what you touched was a Fire Flower, by touching it your cloths do change to what you see now, and you gain the ability to shoot fire even under water," Starlow said.
"(If she's looking to get rid of it tell her Lana has to take off Alice's uniform)," Mario jokingly said in Italian.
"Bad, bad plumber I think somebody has been hanging out with Wario a little too much," Starlow sneered towards Mario.
"(It was a joke)," Mario said
"Anyways I can think of a couple of ways to get rid of the powers?" Starlow said. "If you want we can give you a different power by using a Tanooki Leaf it will replace the power and the appearance of the Fire Flower," Starlow said. "Your appearance would change and you would gain a tail and ears," Starlow told Alice. "If you want to get rid of it completely then just wish for it to go away and then I can make it go away by using my powers don't worry it's just a simple beam of light that channels your wish to return to normal," Starlow said.
"So Alice what would you like me to do?" Starlow asked

Glinda spent a few seconds in thought. "I confess that I am uncertain if we would be able to afford the risk," she finally said. "The Witch is a powerful entity, and she is protective of Yggdrasil and what may be perceived as the natural order of Oz; it would be unwise to agitate her further than necessary. To occupy the tree is one matter; to tap into it's magic -- the magic which helps sustain all living life in Oz -- and attempt to link with it is another. If she would merely turn her attention towards the individual performing the link -- yourself, in this instance -- then the decision would be yours alone. However, it is possible she would turn her newfound aggression to other humans, with catastrophic results.
...Furthermore, can you say with absolute confidence that it is in your power to link with Yggdrasil? Our world tree appears to possess a remarkable resemblance to one of your world in concept, but would its finer workings be different? Could the differences prove to be too different or too powerful for you to perform the link?"
Burringham would've pinched Junior's cheeks if he wasn't slightly out of arm's reach. "Awwww, he's a prince with an ego! That's even cuter! <3"
Joshua cleared his throat. "Onto business, sir."
Burringham snapped out of his cuteness-induced funk. "Oh yes, pardon me. Come inside, I'll unlock the door for you."
Burringham pressed a button on his desk and a buzzer rang out. Joshua pulled down on the door handle and followed Burringham inside with Junior in tow.

Indeed, the interior of the study was far larger than the narrow, almost claustrophobic front entrance. Save for the lower density of people around, a few fantastic devices here and there in place of computers and laptops, and an empty room in the back with a wide window for others to monitor through and a blast door serving as the only entrance, it wasn't completely alien compared to the labs and studies back in Realgam Tower. The walls were even colored a bright white.
"We have formed a number of hypotheses as how to perform a summon," said Burringham. "Of course, they are all untested, and they are mostly baseless conjecture, as the composition of the magic of these cards is unknown to us. We greatly appreciate your assistance."
"As long as I get to see everything, and you explain every test you are performing on these cards step-by-step," said Joshua. "People I care about are in these cards."
"Understandable," said Burringham. He held out a hand. "...May I?"
Joshua picked a random card from his deck. He briefly glanced at it.
...I can't help but wonder how some of these people were chosen. In terms of skills, he's an ordinary footsoldier.
Joshua handed over the Curtis card.
They arrived at the appointed battleground. Alexus stood a few meters in front of the Outlander he challenged and cross his arms, observing him. The six Legionaries carrying the metal rods observed the area before dispersing and moving to the surrounding area.
"I commend your decision to accept this duel, Outlander," boomed Alexus, his deep voice carrying over the plain. "For a dog of the Ephesians, you already possess greater spine than the average pup your empire throws to die at my hands. I am Alexus, Legate of the Legionaires. I care not what your history entails, nor do I care about your ambitions. All that matters in this moment is the call for battle."
Alexus raised a hand to move the Outlander's attention to the other Legionaires, who are planting the rods into the earth beneath them. "These pylons, once activated, shall create a wall of energy connecting to adjacent pylons; creating a barrier around our battlegrounds. This is sacred ground; our battle will be contained in the area within this area, and shall not leave it. Furthermore, the barrier will prevent all outside interruption, physical or otherwise, from interfering with the battle."
The soldier behind Alexus approached his side and held out the large sword bandaged in his hands. Alexus grabbed the blade from the hilt and plunged it into the Earth. A burst of fire erupted from the blade, burning the bandages that covered it. The black and crimson blade reflected the flames before they dissipated. "This is the blade of the Legionaries. Devil Arm - Rift to Tartarus. It has tasted the blood of a great number of Ephesian profligates. Should you emerge victorious, you claim your right to the blade, and my Legionaires will forfeit attempts to claim Yggdrasil and retreat. These men will bear witness to this."
Alexus clenched his hand over the hilt of his great blade as the flames dissipated. "...Are you prepared, Outlander?"
