Spitz, in your post, did Carson come across the Empty House? Because it was kinda only hinted at, you mention nothing solid in his bio, and I was thinking that once anyone else gets going it could easily segue into theirs depending on where they placed their character (like if I randomly decided to place Geraldo in Shibuya for TWEWY or in one of the more densely populated towns of Ivalice, both of those could be legit based off of your post).

I'm under the assumption this works like the games, and almost any d&d session ever; i.e. Everybody groups in one spot asap. So I did that. Surely all the others'll pop up soon enough. ^_^

Oh, no, the idea isn't to group up ASAP.
In fact, HHD was planning on having Moran send the Empty House members to different worlds after this intro fight thing (so they can meet up with some others or whatever). Basically, serve the story more than grouping up.
And having everyone meet up is very much not happening when you consider HHD and I have two distinctly evil characters. So while the idea of groups is prominent, so is the idea of separation.

You can do whatever you want Spitz, just have a story reason for it. Is there a particular reason your character is in another world right now? How did he get there? Things like that.
Anyways, we're probably going to split the party in the near future, so coming together isn't required.

I must admit now I'm questioning how the RP is going about everything. Is it something more than 'get good guys together, solve the various FF worlds problems with heartless, go take on the big bad'?

From what RPs have bene like in my experience, we basically do whatever we want and write a story together along the way. Give your character a goal and write them going for it, and along the way you'll run into everyone else's goals and interesting stuff happens.
