"While I wait to be admitted might I ask your name young sir. It strikes me as rude not to at least ask as much, considering the breadth of our exchange." Teak replies.

Marrh gave Teak a cautious look before answering,"I am Marrh, son of the pope. No need to introduce yourself, I already remembered your first introduction." He folds his arms.

"Ha, ha, ha, ha," was all Shiva could make out as her vision and her hearing began to fade. ".....Deo..... I will find you," Shiva muttered until she passed out. The next thing she felt was someone nudging her and 'licking' her. "What the hell?" Shiva said as she woke up and saw Charlie staring at her. "You know better to wake me when I sleep," Shiva told Charlie was simpering. "Don't worry boy it was just that nightmare again," Shiva said as she got out of bed.
"So Charlie are you ready for another round of patrols," Alyssia told her partner while pouring food for him. "Just make sure you get ready we leave as soon as I am ready," Alyssia told Charlie as she went to go get ready. "That person I swear I will find him if its the last thing I do but for now I have to get ready for our meeting," Alyssia said while getting ready.
Just as Charlie was getting done eating Shiva walked out with her long blonde hair in a pony tail. She had chain mail armor on top of her sky blue shirt, her sky blue skirt w/ steel leggings, her twin blades which she can use to channel ice magic through and her lance strapped to her back. "Come here Charlie timed to get dressed," Shiva told her partner as she placed a special type of armor modified for dogs.
The twin blades she had with her since birth were her trusty blades since she had since birth. The lance she received was a beautiful lance and highly decorated, it was also designed with a special metal that allowed her to channel water magic through it. "Ready boy," Shiva called as she left her house heading towards the palance.

Marrh quirked his eyebrows. "I don't...Oh, your Teak?" He blinked at the end of his sentence. Marrh gave a sigh as he extended his hand."Nice to meet you." He gave a weak smile.

"Uhm, now I'm confused. If you were expecting me by name why didn't you say so earlier?" Queried the perplexed Teak as she took her apparent charge's hand.

Marrh gave her a sly look. "I was judging how perceptive you are. Your apparently the best soldier in Athena's army," Marrh remarked, removing his hand, "Can we take this conversation inside ma'am? Greimrich would probably like to see you." He added, opening the doors. This woman was all business, but more importantly, stoic. Not that he minded really. They wouldn't talk much on the journey anyway.

"Clear." The guards part their halberds from blocking the entranceway, letting the cheerful young man through and handing him the papers on his way in. Outside the gate had been pretty enough, but inside this traveller couldn't help but gasp and marvel at the beauty of the city of Ambrosia, from its stone archways to its clean flowing aqueducts.
The traveller was called Tom. "Tom from Ragnarok," as the Adaein locals would always come to know him. And it was his privilege to wander these foreign lands, always scraping by with a few coins and a will to work until he could move on to the next place. The people in Ambrosia are unusually cheerful, Tom notes, seeing a group of women laughing and gossiping as they beat the dust from their husbands' clothes, children skipping ropes and pretending to shoot at one another with sticks and jolly merchants peddling their wares... Why, Tom might even like to settle down in a place like this. Or that's what he thinks, as he arrives at an unassuming little tavern signed "The Oasis."
Tom steps into The Oasis, deciding to quench his thirst on the local wine and perhaps ask about some work. Inside is every bit as jolly as out, quite unlike the depressive, solitary atmosphere of many taverns. Maids in red dresses and eye catching make up glide through the tables, passing out food and drink aplenty and some men in the back seem to be enjoying a dart game. Tom sits down for a few minutes to nurse a horn of wine and partake in his favourite passtime of people watching, before he notices a wary looking patron two seats down, eyeing the crowd at the same time he does. Deciding that the man must have nothing better to do, Tom scooches over to strike up a conversation.
"Hey there, friend." Tom greets with a buffoonish smile. "You new to town as well?"
The wary patron glances at Tom suspiciously, which causes Tom to shrink away a bit, but he tries to remain friendly and earnest looking. "...No. Local." The man finally replies after what felt to Tom like a very long, unnerving staring match. "Who're you?"
"W-well, my name is Tom..." He says. "I'm from a city in Ragnarok called Heimskringl, but since that's kind of a mouthful people always call Tom from Ragn-"
"Get another wine for Tom from Ragnarok over here." The wary patron interrupts Tom, hailing the bartender.
"Ah, y-yes, well thank you for the dr-..." Tom begins to stutter nervously.
"Let me give you some advice, Tom." The other man whispers. "Leave this city. Leave it and never look back."
"W-why would I leave...?" Tom asks nervously, hushing his tone although evidently not enough for the wary patron's liking. "E-everyone seems so nice..."
"This city is no longer ruled by her people." The man explains. "Nor by her magistrates, not even by the church. This city belongs to Julius, and if you don't want to belong to Julius either... You had better leave. Leave, or fight."
"Who's Julius...?" Tom wonders. "What on earth are you talking about?"
The wary patron says nothing, seeming to have spoken his piece. So, only slightly bothered, Tom continues his drink in silence until the doors of The Oasis open once more. The atmosphere changes for only an instant, and in steps a regal looking man with jet black hair and a thin oustache straightened to a stilletto point. He wears an emerald green coat embroidered with gold and a set of matching boots, as well as a pair of fine white stockings. A rapier with an ornate silver handguard rests on one side of his belt, a heavy matchlock pistol on the other. Behind him, a boy in a black doublet with black stockings and longer black hair walks in, a buckler not fully concealing the dirk at his belt. Together, the two new comers stride up to the bar like they own the place.
"Master Ignoto, what a pleasant surprise this is!" The bartender greets cheerfully. The wary patron next to Tom hasn't moved his gaze from the newcomers once.
"We're here on business, I'm afraid." The man in the emerald coat says lamentingly. "A little matter of three missed payments. Perhaps you know what happened to it all now?"
"P-please, you know I've got a problem..." The bartender stutters. "I-I'll win it all back, I-I..."
"Your problems are supposed to end where mine begin, friend." The man in the emerald coat taunts. "Julius doesn't like to be told excuses."
"Gavriello, please...!" The bartender begs. "You have to look the other way, just this once!"
"Look the other way...?" The man laughs out loud. "I can look whichever way I want, all that matters is that wherever I look the money won't be-..."
A click comes from next to Tom, as he pales even further at the sight of the wary patron pointing a loaded pistol at the head of the boy who walked in with the mobster. "He said look the other way. Maybe you should have listened."
One of the barmaids screams, and the whole establishment flies into chaos. Weapons are drawn from sheathes and powder charges are placed in chambers, and soon Ambrosia's happy atmosphere has been transformed into a standoff.
"What are you playing at, dog?" The man in the emerald coat, Gavriello asks. "Don't you understand what forces you're dealing with...?"
"No. Maybe you could enlighten me." The wary patron pushes the pistol harder against the boy's head. "Start by telling me everything you know about Julius. Who is he? What is he after?"
"If I don't know...?" Gavriello asks aloofly.
"You do know. If you don't tell me, Rafael dies."
Gavriello smiles, slowly curling his moustache as he does so. "Go ahead then, shoot."
Tom barely averts his eyes as light fills the room, the sound and sent of powder filling the bar. He slowly turns over to see the wary patron looking down in shock, blood covering his shirt from a large bullet wound in his stomach. The boy in black, Rafael, dusts himself off.
"Your deflection got residue on my shirt, Gavriello." He states calmly, looking over at the other patrons pointing guns at them. Powder explodes in all directions, draping the ceiling in a powdery haze. Gavriello flicks his rapier upward like a conductor might a baton, stirring up a burst of wind which hurls the bullets all at once into the ceiling. He rides with the gust he creates, using his feet like a projectile to kick down the closest conspirator, stabbing the other through his ribcage. The patrons seem to clear out of his way on instinct, making no more commotion now that the boy is unharmed. In another flash of light, everyone returns to normal, going about their business as usual. A few less patrons are there, even counting the ones Tom had seen die. The bartender stands shaken, and Gavriello passes him a bloody handkerchief. "Throw this out, my good man? Consider the damages removed from your debt. I shall see you tomorrow."
"How will we inform Julius...?" Rafael asks the older brother.
"Uncle Descartes will pass this along to Mikael. Come." Gavriello replies, as the two walk out. The men who had been engaged in a dart game have all left or been removed, and everyone else returns to drinking or serving, as if nothing ever happened. Tom stands and excuses himself, paying for his wine. He steps into the open air, looking at the townsfolk going about their day.
How can they all ignore what's going on...? He wonders, suddenly seeing suspicious figures at every corner. That man was right... I have to get out of here...!
Tom quickens his pace toward the gate, stopping only when two poleaxe heads come to his neck.
"Halt! You stand before his eminence the bishop!"
Tom stops, quivering and looking up at the holy guards threatening him. A bishop with long blonde hair stares back at him, giving a calming smile which seems to wash Tom's fears away. He hears his heart beat for just a moment.
"Leave him be, he poses no harm." The bishop states. Unmarred by age, his face could be called perfectly beautiful if not for the stitched scar beneath his left eye. "Tell me, young man, what ails you?"
"I... I don't remember..." Tom mutters. "I came here from Ragnarok, and... It's a lovely place, really."
The bishop smiles again. "Indeed it is. You must just be tired, sometimes our stress is active after a long journey. Perhaps you'd like to come listen to a sermon? Our newest initiative puts such energy into his preaching, it is quite refreshing. Tom from Ragnarok, was it?"
"Yes... that sounds nice..." Tom says.
Strange... What was I worrying about? I've gone and forgot...
Tom breathes a sigh of relief, calm once again. So calm and peaceful just like this city. Quiet enough to hear your heart beat.
I think I would definitely like to live here...

At the palace while the meeting was under way Alyssia did her usual routine check on the other officers make sure everyone is well equipped, etc. Charlie as always is following right behind his master occasionally stopping to be petted or a treat when Shiva isn't looking. While performing her regular duties, Shiva began to reminisce about the time she first met her most trusted partner.
1 year ago.....
Alyssia 'Shiva' Lockhart is finishing up her shift nothing to unusual just the cases of petty crimes throughout but nothing to write home about. "See you guys tomorrow," Shiva shouted towards her fellow patrol officers. "Night are you sure you don't need one of us to escort a delicate young lady like yourself," one of the more brash recruits said. Suddenly, there was an icecle within an inch of his neck as Shiva walked ever so methodically to the recruit. "You should no one thing boy when I was your age I was doing things you could never imagine," Shiva said ever coldly. "I worked for people that made these petty thief and muggers seem like boy scouts," Shiva went on. "Remember this the next time you decide to open that foolish mouth of yours," Shiva said as she snapped her fingers and the iccecle shattered.
As Shiva made her way towards her house she took the time to enjoys the stars they were usually bright this morning almost memorizing. "How did I ever end up being the most feared criminal since him to Shiva queen of the weak, protector of the masses," Shiva sighed while twirling her hair. " I guess its better then being dead or rotting in prison even if we do get fools every so often," Shiva said to herself. "It would help if I busted someone from the old gang who wasn't just a new recruit, dead, or someone who knew even a little something about Deo but all I ever get is the guy doesn't exist," Alyssia sighed. Alyssia was half way to her house when she heard a noise coming from one of the allies.
"Couldn't hurt who knows maybes its a big fish this time as Shiva ready one her blades. " The noise began getting louder and more intense the closer Alyssia to the source. "If you value your life you will come out quietly and quickly," Shiva said as the noise just continued to get even louder. "Don't say I didn't warn you...," Shiva said as she was about to charge before the noise just stopped. "Okay," Shiva said as she backed up reading her other blade when a shadow began to emerge and it was small and walking on all fours??. "Who are you answer?" Shiva asked as she heard a bark. "Only a dog I have to stop being so paranoid besides as far as he's concern I am dead and no longer a threat," Alyssia said while sheathing her swords.
The puppy maybe only a month old if that walked towards her, his fur was matted, he was dirty and malnutrition. "Go shoo I don't have anything to give you," Alyssia said while shooing the puppy. The puppy which appears to be a German Shepard just stares at her with a quizzical look on his face. "Fine stay here you stupid must I am tired and I have things to do tomorrow," Shiva told the puppy while she began to walk home. When Shiva turned and started to head home the puppy followed after her. "Go I don't have time to babysit some puppy," Shiva said to the puppy who just sat there and looked at her. "Fine mut you made me do this, a little water probably wouldn't hurt but at least scare him," Shiva said as she unleashed a small stream of water directed not at the puppy but close enough to get him to back off. Yet instead of scaring the puppy it just caused him to start drinking the puddle that was beginning to form. "Great now he probably thinks I am some type of fountain," Shiva bemoaned as the puppy now began rolling in the mud. Now the puppy who was covered in mud charged straight for Shiva and jumped right into her.
"Great now I am all dirty and filthy why you ... hey stop that tickles," Alyssia said as the puppy began licking her. "Fine you can come but if you are going to stay with me their are some rules we have to go over," Alyssia said while carrying the now sleeping puppy with her. "So young but you have no fear inside of you, kinda of lke myself when I was a kid," Shiva said as she entered her house. "Now what should I call you," Shiva said while thinking of a name for him. "Maybe I can name you after my grandfather Charlie," Shiva said as the puppy just curled up in her lap. "Fine from this day forward you will be Charlie," Alyssia said as she fell asleep in her chair with Charlie on her lap.
Present time....
You have your order right men," one of the officers shouted. The patrol officers gave a salute back to there superior. "Anything you would like to add co-captin Shiva?" One of the officers asked. Shiva while snapping out her day dream just gave a half hearted "No" in response. While the patrolling officers and the sergeant left Alyssia did one final sweep while Charlie was right by her side. "You ready boy?" Alyssia asked Charlie as they left the palace to begin her shift.

"Sigh, Charlie I think we need a vacation boy, there's no use hanging around here when only 'little fish' remain," Shiva said as she was almost done with her shift. "I guess they wouldn't mind if I took a little vacation besides maybe I can find some sort of clue to him," Shiva said as the officer's section of the palace came into view. "Captain," Shiva said with a salute and Charlie sat there by her side. "Relax Shivas me and you are the same rank, no need for the formalities," the captain respond. "I have a request sir," Shiva told her fellow captain. "Oh is that so," he replied as he rose from his seat to close the door.
"Okay let me guess you want to take some time off right," he said while looking at her. "You know me all to well," Shiva sighed. "Coming from you i learned you would never make such a request unless it was serouis," he replied. "Its just that I need to go someplace to find the info I need because all I find here is dead ends," Shiva responded a little dejected. "How long has it been since you joined us?" The captain asked. "Maybe 2 to 3 years," Alyssia responded. "I think its been that long since one of my men dragged you in close to deaths door," the captain said with his back towards Shiva. "What's with the guilt trip all of a sudden?" Shiva demanded from her fellow officer. "Who said it was a guilt trip?" he replied gently. "Can't I reminsce about the day Shiva the demon of ice died and Shiva the hero of the people was born," the officer said now facing Alyssia. Charlie barked in response almost as a cry to not be forgotten. "Don't worry boy I certainly haven't forgotten you the melter of this ice queens heart," the captain said as he petted Charlie's head.
"Life is certainly a funny mistress," the captain said. "It has a funny way of changing people in unexpected ways," he said. "To think one of the most ruthless assisans for Deo's gang who was known for her icey demeanor would ever be a patrol officer of the palace," he continued. "To think that same person would have her entire life changed by of all things a random stray puppy," he went on. "Shiva please take as_much time as you need to find whatever answers you need," the officer said while giving Shiva a hug. "I knew this day was coming sooner or later call this old man greedy because he came to think of you as a daughter almost," he told Shiva who was trying her best to hold back tears.
"Your parents would have been proud to see the lovely and beautiful young lady you become," he told her. "I only have one order for you young lady and that's you and Charlie better return here alive understood," the captain said as Shiva who in a moment of weakness had tears streaming across her beautiful face. The captain broke into a jovial laugh sat the sight while Shiva just glared at him. "Praise be to the Sage never would I thought I would see the day the ice queen would cry," the captain said while letting a heart felt laugh. "You didn't see anything I do have a reputation to keep," she replied playfully. "Before you go may I make a suggestion about where to go?" the captain told Shiva. "Knowing how this Deo person is a crime lord he is bound to have connections to some higher ups if you know what I mean," he said.
"Perhaps you should visit Ragnorak and see if you can meet with the pope, surely he could provide you with a clue," the captain told Shiva. " I_guess I should be leaving now then," Shiva said as she rose from her chair. "Not before I give you and Charlie a little going away present," he said as he reached for a bag underneath his desk. The captain was holding a plain looking sack stocked with the basics they would need for a small trip. Also inside his pocket he pulled out a beautiful blue necklace which had a blue gemstone in the center. Also he gave her a sky blue cape made of stiff material. The cape was strong enough to take simple blows but nothing more and it was light enough to allow for movement. The captain had a special collar made for Charlie which had a blue flame in the center which read 'The Melter of even the coldest of ice.
"Remember your order to make sure you and Charlie are to come back here alive," the captain told Shiva. "Right," she replied while she was putting on her necklace and cape. "Also very funny 'Melter of Ice' I wasn't that bad was I?" Shiva pondered that question as she was putting the collar on Charlie.
"So I guess this is it da.... sir," Shiva said a little embarrassed. "Its okay I probably am the closest thing you had to a father," the captain said walking Shiva out of the palace. "Well I will see you when I see you," Shiva said waving goodbye. While she was walking down the street everybody could sense she was leaving but they were happy for and they wished her luck. "Sigh the old man I right look at me Shiva the Ice demon getting all emotional about leaving, you know this is your fault Melter of Ice," Alyssia told Charlie in a taunting way. "Hey I never asked you to follow me home or stay with me its your fault mut," Alyssia told Charlie while he was just glaring at her. "Who would fault a random mut would change my life so much, I am glad you came into my life boy," Shiva said while giving Charlie a hug. "You ready boy," Shiva asked Charlie as she took one last look at the place that has been her home for such a long time. As Shiva turned around she noticed the empire of Aedian get smaller into the horizon as she made her way towards Ragnarak where hopefully she could find answers about the mysterious Deo.

"I'll lead the way." Marrh mutters, stepping in before Teak can. He leads her down a lavish right corridor and makes a sharp turn down the stairs. All the while being silent.

Two days later....
"So this is Ragnarak its nice, if it's a little different from the Aedian empire," Shiva mused to herself. "I guess the first thing to do is head over to the dukes place maybe if I am lucky I can see him right away," Shiva said. "Come on Charlie the sooner we meet this pope the sooner I can wrap Hyramorau's chain around Deo's neck," Shiva told Charlie as she cracked her knuckles. "I guess we should start with that lavish church," Shiva said as she made her way to the church.

Teak quietly follows the young princeling through the ornate halls. Chatting never was her strong suit after all. Moreover she had always made a point of observing the layout of what ever location she happened to visit. This venue was no different in that regard, after all there was always a chance that this whole exercise was an elaborate scheme to open lady Athena to attack. At any rate the layout appears to be fairly straight forward. It was then that Teak noticed a door opening in an adjacent chamber...

"Great not a soul to be seen," Shiva bemoaned when she got to the lobby. "How will I ever find this pope if I can't even ask about him?" Shiva sighed as a noise caught Charlie's attention. "Get back over here you stupid mut," Shiva said as she chased after Charlie who stopped in front of a doorway. "You think there something here boy?" As Alyssia pressed her ears against the door. Alyssia noticed what sounded like footsteps coming from the other side. "So somebody is there," as Shiva turned the knob to notice it was locked.
"Good thing I have experience with these sort of locks, Charlie keep a look out okay," Shiva said as she pulled out a pair of lock picks. "Ha a lock like this might have fooled a novice but not when you seen every type of lock around I suppose I should thank Deo for one thing," Alyssia said as she opened the door. "Best to be prepared for whomever is behind the door as she unsheathed her spear Huzikmaroe.
Shiva opened the door and broke into a sprint and didn't hear the footsteps stop or the voices asking who was there until it was too late and she ran full speed into a young boy and a young lady. While Charlie unable to stop his momentum crashing into the pile of people on the floor. "Crap," was the only word to leave Shiva's mouth as she realized the situation at hand.

Bullrushed by an unknown assailant Teak immediately switched to combat mode. From on her back she conducted a charge through the studs on her amour polarizing herself and repelling her out of pile. Then carrying her momentum into a hand stand she then pivoted on her right hand. Newly repositioned she charged the plates in her boots in order to adhere to the wall with them, allowing her to run up the wall. That allowed her to flip over the pile drawing her sword. Finally she lands behind the pile holding her sword to the back of her assailant's neck. The whole maneuver took only the breadth of a second thanks to her thunder magistine. "Who are you and what is the meaning of this assault!" Teak shouted in a commanding tone at her prone assailant.

Marrh would have avoided the woman crashing into him if it wasn't for the fact she had blindslided him. He was thrown from his feet and landed hard across the marble made floors. his thoughts were scrambled as he tried to piece together a coherent thought. "nngh.."

"You should learn to be more focused on your sourroundings little girl," Shiva said to the girl. "Unless you forgot about my partner, Charlie sic him," Shiva said as Charlie pounced on the young boy. "I assume you were here to protect that boy but let me just say if you kill me Charlie will rip his throat out," Shiva said as Charlie now pinned to the floor. "So what's your choice either you can explain to the guards why there is two dead bodies on the floor or put that sword away and we talk like adults?" Shiva said to the young girl while Charlie's mouth grew closer to the young boys throat.
"I hope you make the right decision girl and don't try anything funny otherwise you will be in for a rude surprise," Shiva said with an air of defiance.

"This sword isn't my only weapon," Teak replies without inflection as lightning crackles in her left palm. "And I never lower my sword to a foe. So which do you think is faster your cur's fangs or a bolt of lightning or the ice magic radiating from your magistine?" Teak added equally unimpassioned.
