Now that's an attitude, Fenris. I love all the drunken ancestry in here. Makes me feel at home. Dunno much about my ancestry, though. Kinda scattered, little notable. My family doesn't really do reunions either, but we do parties a lot. Pretty fun, especially considering a lot of my cousins are around my age.
My musical tastes are... all over the f***ing place. I've got s*** from so many different genres on my MP3 alone, more on my computer. If I had to narrow it down to the stuff I listen to the most, it'd be rap, metal and alternative. For example, on one playlist, it goes from "Somebody Told Me" by The Killers to "Tears Don't Fall" by Bullet for my Valentine, to "The Cave" by Mumford and Sons, to "The Mother We Share" by CHVRCHES, then to "Through the Fire and Flames" by Dragonforce. Sometimes I actually get a little annoyed by the shift in tone my playlists go through.

My sister is obsessed with Mumford and Sons to a highly questionable degree. I wouldn't be surprised if one of them replaced Bono on the top of her "would hit" list.
My only notable ancestry is that my dad is probably distantly related to Macbeth, through marriage (going by the extended family name and location in Scotland, though we can't trace our genealogy far back enough to say for sure.) Other than that, there's a guy who betrayed William Wallace...

I meant that it was a good attitude to have. Building your own legacy, not being concerned with however mediocre your ancestors may have been.

Oh, thanks. I've never been worried about my ancestors. Hell, one day I'll probably be one! Either through future children, or my sister's... So I'm not too worried

I think everyone should be proud of where they come from, but see that as a reason to build on their legacy, not to sit on their laurels and claim achievement through someone else. I think everyone here would agree with that, more or less...

How far do these family reunions extend? Just cousins, or further? I see my grandparents and cousins weekly, but further away I haven't seen in years.
My ancestry is kinda lost. Immigration does that.

My grandma was adopted as well, so yeah it is pretty lost. Never bothered to ask for my fathers...

I don't think I've even seen 50 people in my family Which is weird considering asian cultures tend to put more emphasis on family.

Most of my family lives in either Nicaragua or Dallas, so we don't really have much in the way of family reunions.

I know very little about my family tree, other than the fact that Densons love to find new ways to escape serving in the military. Oh, and somewhere along the lines they came from Ireland. They also claim to somehow be related to Henry Ford, but I would never take them at their word on that. I can also assume that they were fairly wealthy at some point very long ago, sometime before the civil war, but lost it all by the time the war came, as they ended up working as sharecroppers. Somewhere along the lines there is African-American blood, though they would never admit it and claim Native American heritage instead. But I'm not dumb.
And yes, they're con men and liars by nature. Hence why you can't just take them at their word. Heck, my great grandfather would borrow money from a neighbor every Saturday on market days and go to the market with nothing else but the clothes on his back. By ripping people off, he would come back home that night riding on a new horse, donkey, or mule, with enough momey to pay back the neighbor and feed his family for the next week or two.
I'm not terribly interested in learning more about the Denson family. However, I would love to learn about my mom's side of the family, except for her father's side.
But yeah, point is that I have no idea if there's anything interesting in my family tree.

Man, if I had to introduce myself to 200 people in one day I'd probably lose my mind... Mine are like 60 people at most, and only on my mom's side. Too much of my dad's family is across the Atlantic...

The Densons claim their Native American blood is Cherokee too. You wouldn't happen to have family from northern Georgia, would you?
