I always run a full set of Opts in any U deck. I just don't have the other cards for full aggro or full ETB. Arena's economy is garbage and I don't want to spend money when I can't buy singles. And this is why I stopped playing Arena. |

I started playing the Total War series, starting with Medieval II. So far I’ve integrated Portugal into Spain proper and am now in conflict with France. Not even several turns in and apparently they decided they wanted some of my territory.
I sent England to war with them years earlier but I’m not sure what that war resulted in, as no territories were lost on either side from what I can see. Time to do England’s job.

First of 10 or so packages arrived.
All the cards arrived in good condition, but I can really feel the difference between some of the newer cards and the old ones like Wall of Kelp and Castle. Those feel less sturdy, more prone to bending.
But I also got Aura Shards in that package.

And now I also really wanna build a crappy Mono-Black Demon Tribal deck that breaks the s*** out of tutors and Black's weird capability to ramp using just lands like Cabal Coffers and Cabal Stronghold and that one spirit that boosts Black Mana generation and Urborg.
Shame that Griselbrand is Grisel-banned.

I wanted to do that with Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker/Shadowborn Apostles at some point. It's too expensive to warrant the cost for just a gimmick deck though.
Mono-black is a legit commander color though, especially helmed by Gonti.

Mono-Black has zombie shenanigans, too, though I think Dimir can do it better, especially with Scarab God dodging Commander tax.
I could also do Mono-Red Gobbos or Rakdos something or other, but most Rakdos commanders look terrible. I thought about the 6 Mana Rakdos but then realized it affects all permanents, not just creatures. Maybe we'll get a new Rakdos in Guilds of Ravnica (with the new kick-ass legendary frames).

Zombies definitely wants Blue for Rooftop Storm.
Krenko goblins is no joke. If nobody kills him immediately it gets super out of hand. Another funny mono-red deck is Norin the Wary. You think it's a joke, but then out comes all the Impact Tremors effects.
In RB, I've seen Grenzo, Dungeon Warden combo decks that are kind of neat. Mogis burn/hate decks can be strong, but I've never seen one win since everyone just gangs up on you. Ravnica is definitely going to make a ton of new dual-color commanders though so it's probably best to wait on them.

Oh yeah. Lurk my Walmart does have the Commander decks still. One of the Cat ones, vampire ones, and a Dragon one. But I'm about to go on vacation and I'm gonna need to save money for that...
