How about a bit more backstory/ lore? You know, timelines, and where certain stories fall in regards to this one, or what have you. I know you know what I'm referring to...

If you're referring to BL, then you'll have to wait until the story progresses further in plot. If not, some supports will help place the timeline, and I haven't forgotten bout the double vote, but lore and Backstory for the world and characters are unlocked in most supports. Those listed are important to the plot and need this filled out.
Other characters may mention their life in the story, but you'll find most in supports which will be unlocked soon.

This was just brought up to me in Yellow's discussion thread as well... a bit of description on various monsters or other races that may appear throughout this or BL? For example, what exactly were the monsters that attacked Verdani, Serlen, and Selene?
Wrong thread I know, but if they're connected, it should be okay, right?

Those monsters don't exist anymore. I'll let you know why and how in BL. I will try to add a monster list though.

Falkreath, I'll explain more when BL is caught up a lot. Simple method is to explain some things when you hasn't gotten there and then fill out the events. I might as well post this new info of lore.

Catalyst of Sorrow: A long war that waged across the land after the era of the Emperor King, Serlen. It was a war that brought all ruling powers on Etrius to ruin. A war that would mark the start of human suffering and would later lead to demon's invading the continent in the next war.
This era was full of political strife and betrayals. Scholars dub it "Ink age." For its ruthless politics and battles that went on. The second civil war in the history of Etrius. Most holy blood vanished during this time.
Scholars today still research upon this confusing time.

As you guessed, this is a battle your suppose to lose. Another thing is that I'm going to try a different battle system. If it works, I'll incorporate it into AS. Here's the gist, You pick a unit, or group of units in the A, B, etc format to do a choice. Either attack, pair up, or wait are among them. Including items and trading. The convoy cannot be accessed during battles. I'm sure it makes sense to walk up to a convoy in the middle of a battle and swap weapons...
There is no leveling, but characters are strong depending on skills. There is an SP (Skill point) system where you can exchange them for new and more powerful ones as you progress. You gain 1 SP for every battle you win. There is no lost...yet. SP ranges from 1-200. I will make a list and edit every time you gain or lose one. More SP are awarded the tougher the battle. More powerful skills will be higher. As you can guess, Rolanth is your Jagen.
Victory: Defend Rita and Verdani for two turns. Defeat: Serlen, Rita, or Verdani perishes

So I thought deeply about the second gen of TOE:EC, and decided to add some things to them. I had long decided since the beginning of AS that I was most likely doing 3rd Gen and possibly a 4th gen. Of course, four would probably require a different story for them anyway, but I thought it would be pretty good.
I'm currently in the process of 2nd Gen for AS as I'm positing this. So far I've gotten two children characters.

I'd advise against defeat conditions... unless you want us playing the same difficult chapter three times over, I think it's best to just cause items, characters, etc. to be missed depending on poor performances. Completely up to you, though.

Classes~
Crusader> Knight guard> Divine Knight
Soldier>Knight>General
Soldier>Knight> Axe Knight
Lord> Blade Lord> Master Lord
Lord>Axe Lord> Knight Lord
Cavalier>Lance Knight> General
Cavalier> Lance Knight> Cross Knight
Mymirdon>Swordmaster> Whisperer
Mymirdon> Assassin> Shadow
Thunder Mage> Thunder sorcerer>Thunder Wizard
Wind Mage> Wind sorcerer> Wind Wizard
(All elemental mages follow this pattern)
Mage> Dark Mage> Sorcerer
Mage> Dark Mage> Dark Knight
Priestess>Shaman> Oracle
Cleric> War Cleric> Bishop
Duke>Arch Duke> Grand Duke
Noble> Prince> King
Troubadour> Princess> Master Knight
Troubadour> War Cleric> Bishop
Manakete> Dark dragon/Divine/Mage, etc> Manakete God/Manakete Royal(special case. Provided some things happen in the story. Only one character can get this as their second unique class, I speak of Manakete God.)
Demon>Demon Knight> Demon Crusader
Demon God>none>none
Dancer> Dancer Knight> Performer
Bard> Music Knight> Performer
Mercenary>Hero> Champion
Sword Knight> Sword Hero> Sword General
I'm sorry if it is hard to tell which are branching, I hope that you know all the classes. While we don't operate on a leveling system, I'll do my best to balance characters, so it remains fun. Tough, but not impossible.
On that note, I'll post anything of note here telling if a character unlocked a class set.
Your current list of people:
Mark, Sword Knight
Items: Steel sword
Reclass options: Soldier, Mymirdon currently.
Kuro, Crusader
Reclass options: Demon, Soldier, Archer, Lord. ------
Nearly forgot these two...
Pegasus Rider> Pegasus Knight > Dark Flier.
Skills like galeforce can be obtained in tier two classes, so no worry about having to wait to tier three.
Wyvern Rider> Wyvern Knight> Wyvern Lord/Lordess
