Okay, some ground rules. Some are mandatory. Others we need to vote on.
Mandatory
I will roll all of the dice and interpret the results. This will be like a CYOA. You have all of the options of combat before you, a letter for every single move you can think of. But I will determine the results.
When describing a scene or the results of actions, I will use italics. The bitter bite of the winter wind on icy mountain slopes cuts through Kendra's thick, fur coat straight to her bones.
I will use parentheses occasionally (read as frequently) when delivering information during one of these scenes.
Markus could only open his eyes wide in surprise as a third hand shot out of the abomination's chest, stabbing him straight in the stomach, before tossing him to the ground like a rag doll (hp: 12/34, prone)
When describing information such as an initiative at the beginning of a battle, I will use bold:
Encounter: 4 level 3 goblin, 1 level 5 ogre
When a character under my control is speaking, I will us quotations. "What do you mean you have no money to pay for these drinks!" the barren growls angrily.

Not mandatory
Next, please leave tactical discussion to this topic. Questions on what you should buy, what spells you should prepare 3 levels from now, and how much damage your +3 sword can do, should be kept to this topic unless you are asking in character. Questions directly to me as DM should also be kept in here.
I'm much more lenient about this, but please. Keeping the role playing and real-world discussion in separate topics will make my job A LOT easier, and will be a better adventure for you all.
Not as much if a vote here as a freedom.
Talking otherwise is a free action, and you can speak freely (treat it like a conversation in an RP. If you are ninja'd delete your response unless it makes sense in its new place in the conversation.) If you start making page-long speeches in the middle of battlefields, we will start to have issues.
You can tell me what actions you wish to take (you can put them in any way you feel like as long as it's distinguishable from normal conversation so I can tell what you want), but in combat, they will occur in order of initiative, so you will probably want to coordinate your effort based on that.
How you do it is up to you, but I might hand out suggestions after I see you play.
The division of treasure. Split equally, or finders keepers? If unique objects come up that can't be split six ways, I suggest that whoever gets it should get it's appraised value taken out of their split of the gold. If there is more than one person who wants it, we can do two things.
The first, everyone who wants it can pick a number, and a third party can roll between 1 and 100. The closest person gets the item.
The second, the people who want it bid on it with their own money (not what was gained from the adventure, but from their own wallet) and whoever nods more gets the item, but also puts the money they bud in the pot to be split up by everyone else.
Lastly, and probably most importantly,
Monday
Tuesday
Wednesday
Thursday
Friday
Saturday
Sunday
We kind of all need to be present in order for this to work...
So there are two ways we can do this. We can have a continuous session like any CYOA or RP where things will continue to move forward really slowly at a continuous,
or organize actual sessions one or two times a week where we try to come together and get through an adventure, or partway through an adventure.
The day and time would be flexible, based on our individual schedules. It would be assumed that we try to find the earliest time in the week to allow for reschedules due to unexpected hiccups. Still, it would most likely need to be on a weekend.
I can do either one of the above. I can't do both. However, if we choose the latter, I could probably pick up Out of Darkness again during the other days of the week. I understand if the second way would be too wierd or difficult though. And I could probably adapt to being a DM enough to continue other projects again, given time.
We'll work out the kinks as we get going, but we should probably decide how the above works.
