I'm just feeling "WTF" about Dr. Mario and Dark Pit. Plus, no Ice Climbers or Wolf? I get Lucas, but, really?

Wolf was unnecessary, and Ice Climbers are niche.
Lucas, on the other hand, should've been kept around.

Ice Climbers should've stuck around, and same for Wolf. They were unique. IIRC Lucas was better than Ness thanks to his up-smash, but the specials are now irrelevant. Wish we got a skin for him, and that smash attacks could be customized.
Snake too. Snake was the s***. I'll miss him.
I hate when we lose a character unique enough to be worth it. Roy? Pichu? Legitimate. I'm still a little PO'd about Mewtwo, even though he sucked.

Wolf was a clone of a clone.
Roy and Pichu were also terrible clones.
Lucas at least had some redeeming factors, such as having many completely different attacks while not being one of three clones.

I guess I wasn't clear, I was saying that getting rid of Pichu and Roy was a legitimate decision, because I too think they're terrible clones.
Lucas had less differences than Wolf did. Wolf plays WAY differently than Fox and Falco. Lucas was closer to Ness, though considering Lucina stayed... I'd say he did deserve a spot too. Lucina being around makes a lot of stuff BS.

But Wolf really isn't a clone. His mechanics are really different. I'd say he's around Ganondorf levels of different. His attacks are kinda, KINDA, similar, but there's a lot of big differences.

Lucas' different attacks are wildly different, and almost all of his attacks are unique.

If you were saying the same thing about Falco, I'd agree, but it's not the same for Wolf. Lucas was barely different, with his up/down-smash, and a slight change in the mechanics of his specials, which is made negligible by the customization in this game.
Wolf, on the other hand, had that odd stance which made him feel different right off the bat, slower speed with more strength, (and IIRC more weight), and bigger differences in his specials (aside from the Reflector). Not to mention all his A-moves.
My big thing is that Falco should've been kicked instead. Lucas and Falco I could understand, though I'd understand Lucas less. But Wolf? Ridiculous.

Except Lucas was the only other series rep for Mother, and Falco is much more important than Wolf.

But Falco is far less unique. And Wolf is still fairly important for Star Fox. Now that I think about it, Krystal should be a rep, especially if Star Fox comes back into the limelight.
And Mother is, unfortunately, not a high-end IP. It's like if Blood Falcon was in the last game, and they got rid of him for this one. That would be like what happened with Lucas. Though, Lucas probably deserved the spot more than Ness (much as I hate the term spot).
