1004 years after the defeat of the Dark knights, a new crisis envelops the continent of Valeria. The people have decreed a new ruling family to replace the oberyth after a hidden file concerning the battle with Dogalua Oberyth and his true history, had been opened to the eyes of the public. Valeria once more faces civil war. The nobles, Bakram, are heavily pushing the descision to keep the oberyth's in place for more power.
The Galgastani, middle class, are hesitant to see what this can bring, and have begun to prep their territories for war. The Walister, lower class, have decided to watch the Bakram with wary eyes. Valeria stands silent once more waiting to see who will break the uneasy calm.
enter into the isles, but first, who are you?
You are:
A. Celice, a Walister from Golyat and amnesiac.
B. Cariah, a Galgastani sibyl(cleric)
C. Rhys, a Bakram from Heim

Er... A, I guess. Though I've never played the games before. And don't you already have like two other CYOAs? Don't try to take on too much. Take my advice, it won't go well.

I appreciate the advice, but this is only a prototype to see how I fair with RNG based CYOA. If it's good I will reboot it to the full version. On another note, Broken path is on a short hiatus until BL III is finished...

Prologue: Forgotten Memories
"No! They should be wiped out. They perished at the end of the ogre battle!" A voice cried. It is laced with panic and fear. Shuffling is heard through pounding ears and headaches. "Ser...aph." A voice cries weakly. You realize this frail voice is yours. Where are you, who are these people, the questions roll in like a never ending wave. A blurry hand reaches for a head full of obsidian colored hair.
It retracts with a red substance stained upon its hand. "Kill him, Cariah. We could prevent the second ogre battle as she proclaimed!" The male screams. He is enraged, and only serves you worsen your headache. "It is my duty as a Sibyl to treat all patients, even the dangerous." This Cariah speaks calmly. "W-where?" You croak, attempting to stand. Gentle hands force you back down. "Rest." It commands.
"You foolish woman, you'll be the cause of all our deaths. Treat this Walistanian scum if you wish, I will inform the Bakram of this."The man threatens. The sound of slamming is heard, and you let out a cry of pain as your head explodes into needles of pain. The woman gives a deep sigh, and starts placing some sort of wrappings around your head. Minutes later you are introduced to a world of darkness. ------
Blue eyes open up slowly. The pain from before has faded to a dull throb. "Where?" You repeat again, managing to sit up. The room is fairly small with only a wooden table, and your bloodstained bed. Rays of sunlight travel through the window. You take notice that you wear only black pants and a shirt that seems to be styled like a jacket. Every piece of clothing except the bandages are black.
The door creeps open, and a crimson haired woman enters. She is draped in the white clothing of some sort of healer. "I see you are awake. Much better than when I found you floating near the palace of the dead. You've been out for weeks, I am Cariah, a simple Sibyl, and you are in the church of Golyat, a small town and home to the War hero Denam." Cariah smiled, her brown eyes meeting yours.
Your head hurts when you think of how you got here, or arrived for that matter. "Please do not force the memories, I'm afraid you lost them." Cariah says sympathetically. ------
A. Ask how you got here
B. Ask her if you can visit the town.
C. Remain silent.

"Who am I?" You repeat, staring at the sibyl. She is quiet for a moment. "You are Celice, one of my childhood friends." She says smoothly. Celice. The name flows smoothly on your tongue. "Thank you." You say with a smile. Cariah gives you a small smile. "It is my duty, and something I enjoy. Philaha wishes it." She moves over to your bed.
"Phi...laha?" You ask slowly. "The father, or creator as we call him." She elaborates. She runs a finger through her hair, staring at you. "I would like to explore." You say slowly. You get used to the basic knowledge returning to you. She purses her lips. "Very well, I will be your guide Celice."
Minutes later you are exploring the small port town of Golyat. The people are chatting happily. "You called me Walistanian... What is that?" You say. Cariah closes her eyes. "Valeria, a small isle, is divided into three social classes. Bakram are the nobles, Galgastani the brutes and middle class, and Walister, lower class. I am Galgastani." She explains, motioning to her self.
You take in this knowledge rapidly. At least until shouting is heard. "Take the town!" You hear a musclar man shout. He has a greying beard, and a hammer in his hands.
Cariah grabs your hand, leading you behind a building. "We must escape. I did not expect a bandit attack." She frowns. You spot a small iron sword laying on a barrel.
You decide to...
A. Take up the sword and fight. You sense some fighting knowledge in you.
B. Hide with the Sibyl. Even with knowledge, you cannot face pirates!
C. Try to negotiate with the pirate.

We have a healer and this is the opening chapter so low risk as we are not yet invested in the story. Weighing this in mind I vote A.

You make you way over to the iron sword. You pick the blade up, and turn around to look at Cariah. "No." She says simply, giving you a stern glare. You stare at her stoically. "I'm going. I can handle eight pirates." You say confidently.
"No." The sibyl insists, stepping towards you. You brush last her and step out in front of the pirates. "Looks like we got a challenge boys." The leader chuckles.
The first pirate charges at you, and you quickly stab him in the ribs. He drops to the ground dead. "Eh? Not some cocky brat then." The leader grunts, stepping forth with his hammer. He swings at you, and you are barely hit by the axe. You stumble, and Cariah races out, healing you. You give a nod of thanks and begin a game f dodge with the leader. You fell him with one slash across the chest, then another in the neck.
He drops to the ground motionless and you make quick work of the other pirates.
*you gain 80 exp!* ---- You turn to look at Cariah who stares surprised. "You should have injured, not killed." She says with disdain. "What is done is done." You reply calmly, cleaning the blade. You will keep it you decide. A knight steps forth, analyzing you. He has dirty blonde hair and black eyes. "You have a steady sword hand. The Duke would like to see if you're interested in joining the Walistanian army." He says.
"Who are you?" You ask with a hint of distrust. The Knight smiles momentarily. "I am Aurthur, the most trusted knight of our liege himself." Aurthur introduces.
You decide to
A. Go with this man. You can make money this way
B. Decline. You need to explore more of Golyat first
C. Ask Cariah for her opinion.

B wins. ----- You stare at Aurthur weighing your options heavily, you can become a knight of Almorica and gain your memories. Or, you can continue on staying at the church for the rest of your days. With barely an ounce of hesitance, you speak "I'm afraid I must decline, I wish to explore Golyat more before I make a decision." You say, not bothering to question How you knew that it was a castle. Aurthur sighs and leaves. "Very well, you will be swayed soon enough."
"Celice, surely you do not plan to join this man in his journey of war." Cariah protests. You stare at her blankly, having made up your mind. "If i do decide to join, I hope it's for the best." You add.
" Cariah exhales deeply. "Very well, I shall accompany you. I don't wish him to die before he gets there." You allow yourself a small smile at her words.
"Why are you against me participating?" You ask Cariah.
Her eyes shift to the side quickly and she bites her lip. "1,000 years ago there was a similar war, The Heim conflict." She whispers low enough for only you to hear. "The dark knights,Loslorien came from the holy Lodissian empire under the guise of helping the civil war. They helped the Bakram, and it was only with the help of Denam Pavel that they were run off Valeria and Versalia Oberyth placed on the throne." She explained.
You nod, not knowing what this empire was. "No, it is not on the valerian isles, but across the sea." Cariah clarifies. "I see. I'm sure we can avoid such conflict." You answer back.
Cariah stares at you for a while longer. "Try not to get too deep into helping Duke Hemingway." She says, moving her staff to her right hip. You stare at the sights in Golyat for awhile more. Suddenly a man draped in a black coat steps from an alleyway. You can't quite make out his face, but he stares at you.
"Tell me Seraph, who do you fight for?" It is a croaky whisper that chills you to the bone. Cariah narrows her eyes at him.
Feeling chatty for a moment you say...
A. "Of course, for the good of the clan." This nets you 2+ Walister loyalty.
B. "Yes, but only to end the Bakrams rule."This nets you +2 Galgastani loyalty.
C. "For Bakram. We deserve to have someone of higher status rule over us." This nets you -2 Walister loyalty, but +2 Bakram loyalty. -----------
Loyalty allows you to have an easier time recruiting people from different cultures. Much like on the game, if it drops to 0 you lose that unit. It also affects which ending you get. Get 30 loyalty with all the clans and you get the best ending of the story. Later, this will allow you to purchase ancient weapons and access certain things.
