Okay, so I created this because supports in CYOA have frustrated me. Particularly the dreaded S rank. how do you combat this menace?

I think he's either talking about the timing of when an S rank support triggers, or how to write them.

I would suggest letting them know when they've unlocked the support, but let the readers vote to choose when it should play out, that way if they decide they don't want those two characters together it hasn't been locked in yet.

Hmm... In my case, I try to time it where it fits in story. Mostly, I always try to have S Supports in Camp, but I'm not against having them in the middle of a dungeon, providing it works. As for writing them, that's a bit difficult to explain. Very few of my S supports are planned or written beforehand, only major supports that take a lot of work, or supports I really want to be special. This is because nothing is set. While I can envision or plan a S support to happen somewhere, like in a big city, due to the nature of CYOAs and stories as a whole, that support could end up happening somewhere completely different, like out at sea. And location plays a big part in all my supports. For me, how my characters react to their location, the weather, and so many more factors(too many to name) directly effects their mood, and how they react to what the other character is saying. Most of the time, I simply listen to my characters. To me, my characters are not mere words on a page, or fictional beings. They are as real as you and GX to me. This may sound very strange, but I assure you, all true authors feel this way.
Let me try to simplify it a bit more. When I say I 'listen to my characters', this means the characters themselves dictate how the support goes. Their mood, personality, feelings at the time, recent events and surroundings, how long they've known each other, their separate backgrounds... I use all these and more to write supports, especially S supports. However, for S supports, I also do a rough draft first on paper. The only time I don't do this is when a support feels so right, when it flows so easily, I don't need to.
Some examples: Trail x Idoun S is a prime example of one of my few planned supports. Because I wanted this support to be perfect, I planned for it months in advance, well before I knew for certain it would happen.
Trail x Kanis S is a good example of the opposite however. That support wasn't planned at all. I wrote that all on the fly.

No, I get all of that,but... I'm starting to have to many characters to keep track of and I sorta have a deadline where most of the characters are married to whoever the readers chose. Should I remove this dead line? I think in slipping back into the story rules and not CYOA ones.

............. I have a deadline as well in UB, and way, WAY more characters than you do. And I have different endings and more based off it too. And I still manage.
I have hundreds of characters in UB, dozens of whom can be married and have children characters, and the deadline is Chapter 19. If you need a way to keep track of your characters, then Dollar General is your friend. I have like ten whole notebooks dedicated to characters alone.

Speaking of hundreds of characters? When do you think we'll reach the Laguz village?

Without spoilers, all I can really say is that depends. Personally, I think we may go there soon, if everyone decides to recruit Terra soon. Completing her Paralogue unlocks the option to go. Or, it could be a long time away, as we visit the Laguz Village both as part of the story in Book 3 and for Kanis' UC Sidequest.

I just wrote the most heartwarming support I have ever done in my CYOA... Honestly surprised. It just came to me.
