I have a question.
Neo, why is high level magic banned but high level equipment (Glass, Ebony, Daedric, Stalhrim) is not?

I have a question. Neo, why is high level magic banned but high level equipment (Glass, Ebony, Daedric, Stalhrim) is not? Because in the RP, equipment doesn't count for as much. It will give you more defense and damage output true, but at the end of the day, it still won't matter much against demons and higher level enemies. But higher level magic, along with greater power, can also defeat demons that are otherwise undefeatable, give you unfair advantages(Invisibility), and destroy minor cities. Basically, it's for the same reason everyone can't have every Shout: Balance. If we had 12+ characters running around Shouting and casting Lightning Storm as they please, it would be kinda hard to make the battles difficult, or create any semblance of risk. I also wanted to make the Expert and Master spells stronger, because they were so underpowered in Skyrim. And they aren't banned. You just have to do story quests to get them.

Well, they're banned for now.
However, a properly made weapon can deal tons of damage. I have a character who can deal upwards three hundred damage with a normal attack in Skyrim, which means with a single power attack, he can take down a dragon. Granted, it doesn't mean much in text, but if I geared all of his enchantments towards his Two-Handed damage, that could easily rocket up to 500 damage a swing. If I had used the most powerful enchantments possible with potions and enchanting gear, that could potentially increase to 1000 per swing. Magic, however, can't have its damage increased like that. Plus, Daedric artifacts can be a tad overpowered if certain lore is to be believed (like Volundrung).

True. I personally have a character that can do 16 million damage per swing. But, a lot of higher leveled enemies have significantly higher physical defense than magical defense. Case in point, and spoilers... The first 'boss fight' in the story is against a giant skeleton dragon. A single hit from Incinerate and up would likely kill hit. However, all physical damage to it is halved, except for Warhammers. And there is a unwinnable boss fight not long after the group meets in Solitude. This boss fight would not be unwinnable with certain Expert/Master spells, and winning the fight would kinda derail the plot. Also, I didn't want to have everyone running around and spamming Dremoras. No Dremora parties allowed, at least for now. And some weapons are banned, for now. Both the Mehunres Razor and Volundrung are banned.

But Dremoras are the only good summons in Skyrim.

Ok so Hircine is doesn't care about people much how does that translate to his personallity? If Golurk or GX could explain just a little bit so that way when he reveals himself to Fransis I know how to write his part of the dialogue. Maybe do his speech in purple unless that's too OP
Second thought nah wouldn't do purple besides blue has always been my favorite color

I think a Dark Blue, almost a black, would best fit Hircine.
Look him up on UESP and maybe watch a video of Ill Met By Moonlight on YouTube.

I reaserched Hircine and he pretty much seems like the type of person who's like you scratch my back I will scratch yours. His voice sounds dramatic like (maybe but don't know how to put it)
One question about magic
Neo said expert level are locked for now and master spells are linked to the master scrolls. So can you use adapt level or do we stck to novice spells for now.
Finally can we mix two different types I was thinking to have him use destruction and restoration? Do we stick to one type in which case I will stick to destruction and ice/ lighting based attacks?

I'm using adept level spells, but my character is a mage who grew up in a family of thieves. He's been studying magic for most of his life.

As long as you have a reason in story, such as your character is trained by a powerful mage, then yes you can use any spells up to Adept for now. And yes, you can use more than one school of magic. For example, Varren can use Adept spells in Destruction, Restoration, and Illusion.

Varren seems a tad overpowered.

>.> <.< Varren seems a tad overpowered. He is king of the Aldmeri Dominion, son of spoiler and a certain famous High Elf, and the only person to have ever bested the Listener. Sithis found him worthy enough to be killed by the Dread Lord's own hand. Varren's kinda supposed to be a bit OP. But, in the name of fairness, I will nerf him a bit if it really bothers you. But I won't be happy about it. <.<

Golurk just figured out the enigma that is Lorelei. But if he posts the answer here, I'll kill him. And then we couldn't watch FMA:B together again tomorrow night, so that wouldn't be good.

Oh don't worry, Avenicci will be doing something incredibly OP later on that may or may not have to do with a Daedric Lord.

We have OP characters? I smell something wrong.

Lorelei will have no suddenly OP moments throughout the story, unless there's just something really unexpected later on. I was careful to keep her as balance as I possibly could.
