Judging from her glare, Ms. Evermore clearly doesn't buy it. But she can't prove it's lie, so she ends up letting you go. She takes Somnis by the ear leads her off to the police car.

Tia and Kiran head home. They're too tired to talk about anything, and they've only got two or three hours to sleep...


Friday, September 14th

Kiran heads to school.  The morning announcement begins.  "Hello...  mmmph..."  Mattea yawns loudly.  "Hey, everyone.  Today the Drama, Wrestling, Cooking Clubs will be meeting.  The Soccer Club will not be meeting today due to... erm...  Wow, seriously?  The club president is-  Oh, I'm not supposed to read that part?  Well, anyway.  No soccer today for you sports nerds.  Um...  Oh, yeah!  Anyone who's, like, working in the art festival tomorrow needs to report to the art room after class!"

Rumors go about the school about Freya's absence.  They range from being in jail (for attacking Alice) to being in the hospital to being suspended.

For some reason, Natsumi came to school still in her bikini and without shoes.  The teachers are used to this sort of behavior from her and don't even bother chastising her.

Kiran gets to the art club and finds the club leader is... flustered, to say the least. Her hair's a mess, she's wearing her bikini from yesterday - did she not go home? Somnis mentioned that she rode to the hospital with Leia, but she looks like she hasn't even slept. She's flitting about as she reads from a clipboard. There's a pretty sizable crowd here today.

"OK, people doing oddjobs and the main poster, over here! People doing facepainting, over there... Dean, Avel... Levi? Levi...? Levi, Levi, Levi... Levi! Has anyone seen Levi!? Ugh, OK... Whatever. He's missing. A ton of people are missing. That's fine. Everything is fine! DOES ANYONE HERE KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO FREYA!?"

Raine steps forward and waves. "I... need to talk to you about that. She... won't be able to make it."

"UGH! Why!?"

"I'll tell you in private..."

"OK, wait over there! Sorry, I know I'm yelling! People doing body painting, come over here! That's you, Leia! Alright, models, over here! Tia, Somnis, Buttons, Frey- UGH, Kiran... Why... why does it feel like I'm forgetting someone? Am I forgetting someone!? OK, whatever, you know who you are, get over here!" Natsumi is flinging her arms about so wildly people aren't entirely sure where she's directing them. "GREAT! Tai, Morgan! I need to talk to you both personally, go stand somewhere quiet!"

She proceeds to run around to all the various groups.

Kiran waits with the other models.

"So, how bad did you mom give it to you last night, Somnis?" he asks.

"Not too terribly bad, but I think that's just because she was supposed to be on the clock," Somnis admits. "She's probably going to do more later today..."

Tia bounces up and down excitedly. "Oh, oh! Kiran! I have big news!" Her tongue flicks out excitedly. "I got a job at the mall! I start tonight."

When Natsumi gets to your group, she gives you all some diagrams of your patrol routes and talks about what to wear before telling you to meet in the park Saturday morning. "Any questions? No! No, you're all good. You all have my phone numbers or live who someone who does, so, no! Good, good. You're free to go! Run along, dears!"

When she leaves, Buttons frowns. "Did she seem... off to anyone else?"

Somnis nods. "It's... probably just the stress of putting this all together."

(B) "I should go with Tia to her new job. She's naive and vulnerable!"

"I should go with Tia to her new job. She's a beautiful woman that I respect."

No.  Naive and vulnerable.  Big brother Kiran's coming to break kneecaps if anyone's trying to take advantage of her.  Ignore that he's not her brother and that he's younger.

"I'm going with you, Tia.  You don't understand things like wages and working hours and everything yet, right?  I want to make sure that no one's trying to take advantage of you, alright?"

"Aw, that's sweet," Somnis says.  "I think I'll go, too!"

"OK!" Tia says.

The group heads to the mall.  Tia leads the way all the way to the top floor.  She stops in front of a strange-looking store.  "An antique shop?" Kiran asks

"Nope!"  Tia points up to the sign.

WHITEWING FORTUNE HUT.

"A fortune teller?" Somnis asks.

"Yep!  I'm the chief assistant.  Which, today, means I'm supposed to pass out fliers and tell people we're having a special grand opening sale today!  Fortunes at a reduced price."

"Fortunes, huh..." Kiran says.

"Mmmhm!  Mareena's really impressive.  I'll be back in a minute.  I need to change into my uniform and clock in!"

She walks into the store, and Somnis turns to Kiran.  "So, what do you think about this place?"

"I dunno.  It looks a little sketchy..." Kiran admits.

Tia comes back out in what looks like a cheerleader uniform.  It's... cute.  "Alright, I'm on the clock!  Here's your flier, sir.  Ma'am.  I hope you come visit!"

She slides a flier to each Kiran and Somnis, the skips off down the stairs.

"...I'm going to shadow Tia for a bit..." Somnis mutters.  She follows after her

Kiran leans over the railing...  What to do today?

(A) BIG BROTHER MODE, ENGAGE.  Watch Tia like a hawk.
(B) Check out the Fortune Hut.  Meet her boss.  Maybe break his kneecaps.
(C) Tai's here!  Go pester him.
(D) Is that Arcadia?  Go check what she's up to.
(E) Oh, God.  It's Karl.  Hide.
(F) Bored now.  I'm going home.
