Its fine Just its about time someone steps up and tries to get stuff done around here. Instead of the whining and everything that use to happen around here.
If we are going to do anything to pump life back into here it's about time we just say and get it out in the open. Non of this petty passive agressive stuff that use to happen.

There has been stuff happening behind the scenes, X. You just don't realize it. People have been trying to do things with this site. I have. I don't take kindly to you saying that. I think it's great that Mystic is working to get exciting things started, but don't like you thinking he's running the show.
Mystic, I did say we're going to look into rules and enforcement. I only said it wasn't purely the choice of the members, and when I can get the staff together to discuss things, we're going to formally be asking for feedback from members, because that's important.
There also was an implication in X's post that Neo leaving the Verse makes change possible. It implies he was holding things back, or was solely responsible for some of the issues we're trying to deal with.
And I won't keep responding to things to justify my positions on things. I deal with and know about a lot of things going on in the background, and I'm constantly thinkin about what to do to improve the Verse. I try to be unbiased and listen to every person, and consider all the issues. My stances here are what naturally comes from that. Thus, further explanation or justification really is only necessary if there is significant doubt that what I am doing is fair or for the good of members and this site.

I suggest being more transparent just so that it doesn't look like the staff is doing nothing whenever they say "We should do something!" followed with dead silence. Also, I suggest an official policy against mods pulling the "stop disagreeing/mildly upsetting me or get modded for a week" hat trick, since it helps nobody, builds up resentment, and seems like a particularly blatant abuse of power.

I was going to bring this up, because I agree. But I haven't thought of a solution. Threats don't do anything but make it worse and doing nothing doesn't do anything. This is why I thought perhaps having it so users will be forced to leave for a short while and calm down would be a good idea. Then they have time to think before reacting automatically with an angry post. Though there are admittable flaws in that. It's only possible assuming a moderator is always online, which is out of the question.

Well, if I'm being honest, it's terribly hard to get feedback from mods unless I specifically call for it. And even then. When Crow asked about rules, I felt I needed to wait to see what my staff thought of it. There was silence. So when work is being done behind the scenes, there's generally not much to show, or it's just me working on my own. Transparency is important. I'll try to be as transparent as I can going forward, but that policy is only guaranteed throughout the ret of my time in the position. You'll have to approach the admin candidate about this when I formally introduce them as such and we have a forum on policy and rules. I'm not going to let any spiteful moderation happen. And that's something I will insist on staying the same in the coming administration. No one should have to fear retalliation because of personal disagreements. Only truly disruptive behaviors should be moderated, and most often with the opportunity for something to be fixed by the user instead of true moderation. There is a topic on the Verse dedicated to discussion of policy. Until our official forum on this when I introduce the admin candidate formally, I'd encourage discussion there. It is meant as a neutral territory where these ideas can be refined.

Ask directly for it, and if they say nothing, then just act without them. Repeat offenders not taking responsibility with a "I don't really have an opinion" at the very least? Demote them, since clearly they're not taking things seriously.

I dunno. I thought about it. I don't really want to rush into anything headfirst though. That could cause trouble.

Thank you for considering the things I have to say instead of dismissing or silencing them. It's rare to find someone that will listen. I have more to say, but I will do as you ask and post them in the thread made for rule discussion.

...This isn't a democracy. Or a thread to say crazy things. I'd like to keep the focus on reviving the Verse, please. GX already said we should keep rule discussions and stuff in the rule discussion thread. cyoa-verse.boards.net/thread/186/houseThere you go. That's a link to it. If you're going to be discussing rules, it would be a good idea to do there. I'll probably join in on it too, but I'm putting a few things together at the moment.

Let's change this thread into a Bob Dole 2020 support team.

Bob Dole has the answers to all of the problems facing the modern Republican party. Under his firm one-handed leadership, the GOP can recover from the image issues that Donald Trump's horrendous personality and idiocy have cultivated outside of his base of voters.
