>Hum happy melody while kicking open the chest, then excitedly raise its contents floating over your head with a "duh-nah-nah-nah." Or at least the opening it part.
You kick the chest with a happy melody, and are slightly disappointed to find that the slid just went halfway up, then slammed shut again
>I guess legend of Zelda style opening the chest then. Oh and look for an Ivysaur (FTW)
You open the lid all the way, and reach into the chest to grab the item within, and your strangely-distorted voice cries out "Na-na-na-AHHHAHAHARGH!"
You recoil in pain and horror. Apparently, the chest is filled to the brim with some clear, water-like liquid. But when you touched it, pain shot up your arm.
Under the 'water', there is some kind of key. While it is not specifically an ivy-saw, you could probably still use it to saw ivy. How do I get it out? You wonder.
You accidentally flip the same mental switch, and see your HP has changed, before you dispel the menu.
(992)/1000
Your arm is still stinging. If only you could think of a way to get the key without putting your arm in the water. Or should you just grin and bear it?

Check the chest of drawers. With caution.

>Check the chest of drawers. With caution.
Carefully, you slide out each drawer. One of them has a sheathe for your sword. When you make a move to put the sword in, you are shocked to discover that the bluntness of the sword is mostly gone, and rapidly disappearing. This is no normal katana, you think to yourself.
Apart from that, there is a strange, singular coin with 50 CP on it, and a card shaped like a five-pointed star with a crossed out 'corrosive' symbol on one side, and 'Acidtouch' on the other. There is also an indentation that looks as though you are supposed to put your finger in it.
Also a paperclip. Somehow you feel that this will be the most important item of all. You clench your gloved hand around the paperclip, and loudly demand that it shows its power.
But the paperclip remains silent, biding its time.
What do you do now?

Open the wardrobe before messing with the acidtouch. Have that sword ready to stab Mr. Bogeyman.

>Open the wardrobe before messing with the acidtouch. Have that sword ready to stab Mr. Bogeyman.
You pull your sword out of its sheathe, and hold it in a defensive stance, which comes surprisingly naturally. You open the wardrobe one door at a time, and inside...
...You find a portal to Narnia!
(Just kidding.)
...You see a green ribbon, tied to a wooden bar, draping downwards.
You don't know what it is. You don't even know if you should touch it.

Well, I guess let's do the obvious thing and finger the card and hope it's not a trap.

You pick up the card, and after looking it over, put your finger in.
Instantly, your arm starts tingling, sending jolts of euphoria down your arm. The same mental switch seems to flicker again, and you feel like part of the menu that came up has changed.
Skills: Acidtouch - Passive, allows the user to take no damage from acid.
Ah. Do you do the obvious, or something else?

Do the Dew.... I mean obvious.

>Do the Dew.... I mean obvious.
You go back to the chest and, after bracing yourself, plunge your arm into the the chest, and go for the key.
Your arm feels like it's on fire. You yank it out of the liquid, screaming.
Writhing on the floor, you see a small inscription on the chest: NaOH.
I get it. You think, grinning ruefully, despite the agony. It's an alkali.
You have a sick sense of humour.
Thankfully, your suit protected you from most of the effect, however, the part of the suit on your arm seems partially dissolved, though visibly being repaired, even as you watch, with a few red-raw patches visible through the now partially-transparent jumpsuit.
So, what do you do now?

Examine the bar and ribbon... thing.

>Examine the bar and ribbon... thing.
You manage to fight the pain long enough to get to the wardrobe.
Flinging the door open with reckless abandon, you clamp your hand around the luminous ribbon.
Your vision goes white, your body trembles, and when your vision clears, you are fully healed.
1000/1000
What now?

Screw it. Salvage any sheets or stuffing or whatever from the bed into makeshift armor and just reach in and grab the stupid key.

After stripping the bed, you have a sheet, a duvet, a duvet cover, a pillowcase, a pillow, a mysterious coin, a mattress, your sword, your sword sheathe, as well as the drawers, and the healing ribbon (although you have no indication it will keep healing after removed).
Do you just wrap as much as possible around your arm? Or do you have some kind of specific method?

Cut a slit in the pillow, jam your arm in it, and wrap the duvet cover around the outside. Should be a good balance of buying a few seconds and being easy get off.

You cut a slit in the pillow with your sword, and put your arm in it, wrapping the duvet cover around the outside.
You walk up to the chest, pull it open carefully, and kneel down.
You steel your resolve, and plunge your arm into the chest. The liquid quickly eats through the pillowcase, and your hand feels like it's on fire as you fumble the key. You finally manage to get a firm grip on the key, and lurch backwards, gasping, and fling the drenched duvet off like anathema.
You lurch over to the green ribbon, and sweet relief fills you up.
You have the key. Although, you don't think you'll ever trust water again.
What do you do now?

>Realize we have no idea what this key goes to and it was probably as much of a trick as that acidtouch/NaOH >Check under the bed. Violently. But carefully. By moving the mattress aside, not by crawling under it.

Speculatively, you wonder about the key. You wonder if it's actually safe to try and use it to open the door. You could apparently just heal yourself, but you're not sure if it can restore a limb, for example, or bring you back from the dead.
>Check under the bed. Violently. But carefully. By moving the mattress aside, not by crawling under it.
Throwing the mattress off the bed, what is clearly a device for restraining comes into view. It has electronic manacles with multi-jointed arms, for hands and for feet, several snake-like wires, which look even stronger than the cords that held you at the beginning, and several machines for unclear purposes. None of it looks detachable. There doesn't seem to be anything you can use, or any immediate danger.
>Wark Wark run around and kick everything. Oh and the first person or thing we come across we have to challenge you to a Da Da Da Duel.
You run around, kicking and prodding at the walls, and basically any piece of furniture you come into contact with.
You find another paperclip. It was nestled at the back of a drawer. You reckon that this also contains large amounts of arcane power.
