That bloodstain tho.
I've got to make a compilation of clues and hints we've gotten about the other players at some point. That way we can go over it when we need to think on who is the enemy and who is our ally.

Do you compare the new brains to the mannequin brains? Or do you do something else?

I kinda see a reason to compare the old with the new, but it's one of those super-convoluted reasons that mean I'm probably reading too much into it.
For now let's swap the mannequin over and just try running through the odds.

You switch the mannequin brains over as well.
...For some reason.
Now, instead of having past brains in the tank, and present brains in the mannequin head, you have present brains in the tank, and past brains in the mannequin head.

OK... Now I'm backwards. Make it all current and run the odd-numbered brains.
Though I do kinda want to compare past-us with current-us...

Realising your mistake, yet still harbouring a desire to compare past with current, you make the change back to all being your current selves.
Over a long period of time, you painstakingly gather every odd-numbered brain's letter, by staring at one brain, and quickly changing to another, getting more and more agitated with every mistake, and mentally file them away.
What you end up with, is this:
'P_YCHOL_G_Z_'

Do you fill in some more letters? Or have you guessed what it is already?

...Mystic?
Ironically i'm not sure this but could take a guess the other.

Psychologize?
|
|
|
Post by Piomega on Apr 2, 2017 11:17:40 GMT -6
You type in 'Psychologize' into the grid.
You wait a bit for some kind of indication. You find none.
For clarity, you go to the progress app, to check on your progress.
Test of Sanity: Incomplete (0%)
Test of Memory: Complete (100%)
Test of Discerning: Nearly complete (78%)
Test of Studiousness: Partially complete (45%)
You're nearly done with this test!
Now, all that's left is to find the other word.
How do you go about doing this?

I think I can guess it with 2 more letters... Let's revert to the past and try brute forcing the 2nd letter with the second brain and just cycling the colors.

You can turn them both to the past. Contestant 1 in the tank is the same as Contestant 1 as the mannequin, save for the letter.

OK. So what's the letter for Past-2?

You check the letter for Snake.
It takes a few minutes, but you get the letter 'O'.

...Wait. That's... Try doing two more letters at random.

You do two more letters at random.
You end up with this:
COS_O_ _ _ _ C _L

Oh, OK. Not an anagram of Psychologize. Cosmological.

After typing in 'Cosmological', you go to the progress app again, and this is what you find:
Test of Sanity: Incomplete (0%)
Test of Memory: Complete (100%)
Test of Discerning: Complete (100%)
Test of Studiousness: Partially complete (45%)
You've only got two tests left now. What do you do?

You pick up the Mystical book. You take a moment to gaze upon the mysterious cover, covered with symbols that probably aren't part of any existing language. There are thirteen noticably distinct passages (though you suspect that there is actually fifteen), all written in different languages. Most of them are unreadable, but one is written in what seems to be something like Arabic.
Berating yourself internally for not focusing on the task at hand, you raise the magnifying glass to study the tome: 'Book 7 - A cryptographic tale of mystery. Houses the entire identity of its contestant. (Part of the Test of Studiousness)
