Let's go with another Multi-Hit.
So to be clear we get a skill at each relationship level up? At least, that's what it seems like.(I just started reading Coconut Island).

Correct. You're almost at the point of the party split.

Chain Attack: The users performs a weak and quick attack on an enemy, moving first. As the same enemy is attacked by allies, the user attacks right after them. At the end of the turn, the user lands one last attack that increases in damage with number of attacks that hit the target.
Lightblast Beam: The user launches forth a powerful beam of light from their hands, hitting all enemies with strong light damage.

Pixelate: Has a chance to instantly kill the target. Does not work on boss monsters.
Holo Wave: A wave of holographic cubes washes over the enemies, dealing machine damage to all of them.

Dangit! I knew it! Now we have a Guardian Fight and we don't have a healer! Granted it only took 3 people to beat Galleon before, but on of them was a healer and another one had a healing skill.

Just play smart. I've set it up so that you can win. X is right, this isn't just about brute strength. I've left clues to his weaknesses throughout the game, like I do every boss. Think of the enemies you've fought while in Coconut Island. You can check the Enemy Compendium for information on anything you've fought up to now.

Yeah, I don't doubt it, I just wasn't mentally prepared for this. Maybe I wasnt as taken back because this would be my third guardian encounter so I more or less know what to expect. If I learned anything its that the guardians dont want to hurt our group more or less they want to know we aren't the evil humans from our dream that burn and destroy stuff just because we can. If we appeal to there emotional and "human" side then that's how we win these encounters unless they flat out say show me your strength. But yeah with Hooktail (Balar and Soloar) it was more or less take care not to get KO but don't try to defeat them in the normal sense. Oh and if a friend is being taken prisioner by them they aren't in any danger.

After this battle we should craft some armor for Lisa and Buttons using Torn Cloth and Bones...
Who should get which?
