Arc hesitates a moment before she manages to choke out a few words. "So...it's...done. She's..." Elay looks behind and sees Arc there. Her expression quickly sinks into a frown and she finds it difficult to look Arc directly. "Um...yes. She was...I..." "You killed Quila." "...Yes. I did." "Tha...t's...okay. It's o...kay. I underst...and..." Arc is clearly struggling to say anything else. "...I'm so sorry. I didn't want things to end like this, but...I had no choice. And...I know it means nothing coming from me. You probably hate me. You can leave when we reach the port, if you want. I can arrange for Gerand to take you anywhere you like to go. I just...there's nothing I can ever do to show you how much I...regret what I've done." Arc takes in a few breaths, trying to keep herself from crumbling into tears for a few minutes before responding. "No, do not regret anything, Elay. I am not going to run away. This...This was going to happen eventually. It was decided that day I left home. That...day. It's not your fault. Things just...fell out of place. But if we give up here, everything will be for nothing. All the sacrifices that have been made. Quila is not...the first person I have seen die before. Not the first person that was close to me. It just seems like...everything always goes like this. Eve...rything...goes...th-this...I can't..." Arc is practically shaking as she says these words. Elay simply steps toward her and removes Arc's helmet, watching as her golden hair flows down in soft waves. Her eyes are blue and filling with tears like a crying ocean. Elay wraps her arms around Arc and holds her for a moment. "It's okay to be sad. You don't have to act strong all the time." Arc takes in a shaky breath. "That day I ran away...I ran because I was considered a monster by the church. My own father said I was a monster. I...I killed some knights. Out in the forest. There was a little boy there. A Laguz. They were going to kill him. I couldn't just let them do that...he was innocent. He stole some food, but...he had nothing else to eat. What was he to do? Nobody treats them right. So when I stood up for him, I...They...My only choice was to fight. It feels like...everything just goes wrong. Ever since that day, everything goes wrong..." Unable to hold herself back any longer, she holds Elay with both arms and places her face on her shoulder. It was quiet. There was no sound aside from the waves. Elay felt the warm tears starting to soak her shoulder. But she didn't care. This was important. And so the two stood like that for some time in silence until the boat finally reached shore... Both would be... cute, I guess. But not tactically useful. We need someone who can take a hit. A healer would be nice. I guess maid would be useful once she could get one of the magic blades. But she'd be useless at least 3 maps. Witch has some nice skills. But not worth it. Unless Shadowgift would let her use dark tomes as a maid.

Technically, you can upgrade to a Witch, get Shadowgift, and reclass to Maid with a Second Seal, but that takes up some of your shopping opportunity.

If that's how Shadowgift works, I'd rather spend two maps' worth of shopping to reclass Claire into a dancer and Carthis into an archer. Or just change Vex into a cleric.
Keep my support votes. Erase the rest. Let me think about it more.

Swinging down from a nearby tree, Darik hangs upside down and stares at Elay, directly in front of her face. "Darik...what are you doing here? You know I don't like you." "Why not? "So rude. I've helped you in so many battles. I see no reason why you should hate me." "You're annoying for one thing. And stop calling me princess. My name is Elay. I don't like formal crap. Reminds me too much of Lux." "But you are the princess. Why not call you princess?" "Maybe I don't want to be a princess. I have to make all these life or death situations. So many people are counting on me and I don't think I can make the right decisions. But it's not like you'd understand that. You're just a dumb dark mage that hangs around in trees and makes zombies explode. You think this is all just fun and games? There are living people on the line here. You can't just dismiss that. It's not a game. Get that through your head. This is just like our training battle. You just fight without any consideration for life." "The reason I fought the way I did then was because I wanted you to understand what things are like in the real world. On a real battlefield, you can't show mercy. Otherwise, you WILL die. "Well, Miss Vex? What do you think?" Claire steps back from the multiple training dummies, all blown to pieces on the floor. "I think you're ready for the next level, dear." Vex smiles. "This is exciting! Let's see what cute outfits I can put you in." Vex quickly grabs Claire and takes her into a different room so they can change her outfit. www.youtube.com/watch?v=wNjIo-w4XEAWhen she walks out, Claire is no longer wearing her old clothes, but something entirely new. In place of her old robes, she now wears an elegant, soft, white robe with purple, fuzzy trim along the edges and lining the inside for warmth. The robe is held together with a purple sash around her waist, but splits slightly at the thigh, revealing her bare legs and black boots. Her long, purple hair is no longer kept in a long braid, but left freely sitting on her shoulders. It's kept out of her face with a white headband she wears. Claire changed to the Cleric class!

An impressive feat and show of both power and wealth from Opulentus. Standing by the gate to get in, Ryner waits with his allies in a line of other travelers. Both he and his sister wear hooded cloaks to hide their pointed Manakete ears, worried they might be mistaken for Laguz. Lawrence stands by Ryner's side and tells him about Opulentus. "Recently, there have been Laguz bandit attacks in and around the city. So they've tightened up security." They both watch as one of the guards checks someone for Laguz ears, taking their hat off. "We might need a better way to sneak you two in. I think I have an idea..." Ryner and Lute both hop inside of large barrels that Lysea places on Tor's back and the group starts to walk toward the gate, being stopped by guards. "Hold it. What's your business here in Opulentus?" Lawrence steps up and speaks for the group. "We are simply a group of traveling merchants from Glaewood. We wish to sell some of our goods. We have various crops." "Hm. Would you mind if I took a look at them?" "Of course not." Lawrence turns and motions for Nate to step up. He does so while holding a large barrel. "Well? What are you waiting for? Open it." Nate feels sweat starting to form as he nervously takes open the top. The guard reaches in the barrel and pulls out a vegetable. As he does so, Nate lets out a deep sigh of relief. "Alright, you're good to go." The group starts to walk along again before the guard stops them again. "Hold on. One more thing. You look rather tense, young man. Try to relax. You're safe here in Opulentus." Nate nods to the guard and shakily thanks him. "Y-Yeah! Of course! I'll try to lighten up a bit." "That's the spirit. Now go on ahead. I'm sure your vegetables are much needed at the markets." The group leaves and the soldier stands there, looking after them as they walk down into the town. "These Laguz sure have everyone worked up. It's terrible to see everyone cowering like this behind the walls. But our defenses are impenetrable. So I have no doubts that we will all be safe from harm." "Alexander! What are you doing? You might be the youngest of us, but that's no reason to slack off." A towering man in golden armor stands over the soldier. "Sorry, brother. I was just thinking about the people in these walls and our job to protect them." "Well don't go around daydreaming. If you don't pay attention, you could end up getting yourself killed like Quila." The soldier looks pained as he says those words. "...Yes, I understand. I am sorry." "Don't apologize to me. Just remember to keep your focus on your mission. I understand that losing two sisters in such a short amount of time can be heartbreaking, but we must remain strong. If we do not, then we will surely fall. Cast your feelings aside and focus on the task at hand. There will be time for grieving later." Alexander nods and the two return to their job, protecting the walls.

"Alright, everyone in formation! We're approaching the cavaliers!" The group follows Kress' commands and they march over toward the cavaliers, getting in a defensive stance as the enemies begin to charge toward them. www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBb1EsfnII4As the enemies ride in they seem to mostly avoid fighting against Argentum, likely seeing him as too powerful an opponent. Seraphim is the first to find enemies coming toward her, blocking one of the enemy swords from hitting her with her shield, but getting hit by the second. She manages to hit both of them once with her lance, but doesn't move fast enough to hit them again. In front of her, Jess manages to jump over an attacking enemy and take it out from behind, only to be stabbed by another one. She takes out the second enemy as well with ease, noticing her claws and fangs are extra effective on the cavalry units. Bunbun expertly evades incoming attacks, jumping from place to place and landing kicks on the enemies, dealing some decent damage to each one near him. Kress and Kit then stand close by to each other as cavaliers surround them. While Kit manages to dive under the first enemy that swings their sword, Kress tanks the blows coming her way and knocks the enemies away with raw power. Kit takes down her enemies one at a time, using a few hits on each before they fall. Miss! Seraphim receives no damage 27/27 HP
