~ Oz: Mailbag of Legends - Season 1 Debut Discussion!!

They went from C rank to A+ rank real quick.

The curtains part again after a few moments. June, still barefoot, is now now dressed in a short, white sundress and wearing a wide-brimmed, white sunhat. Other than the new costume, there's a pretty noticeable change - after a "run-in" with a super-mini-mushroom, she's now a fraction of her normal size. Anna, still dressed in her bikini, holds June in one palm, poking at her playfully. Anna stops to wave to the crowd and lift June up. June drops to her knees, clinging tightly to Anna's hand. "Sorry for that interruption, everyone! We had a request for a Waite costume, but after that last... incident, we thought this might be a smart safety measure. So, now you get Tiny-Waite June!" Anna tosses June into the air and June yelps in surprise before Anna catches her. Anna hugs June tightly against her chest like a doll. "Being tiny's not so bad, hm? I know plenty of people who'd kill to be where you are."

June growls up at Anna, sounding like a tiny, purring kitten. "I wish I'd hit you harder," she squeaks in a soft voice.

Anna giggles as June starts struggling and kicking.  "Aw, even violent and angry, you're so cute like this," Anna coos. "Let's get this last batch of questions done and I can send you home, alright?"

June stops squirming and settles down.  "Fine."

What would you consider your dream home?

"I admit I kind of miss the home I grew up in - a small wood cabin in Valeria. Not to sound ungrateful, but a big, stone castle can feel so lifeless and empty sometimes."

Have you ever been guilty of taxation without representation?

"Carcinan tax laws have several loopholes which we've been working to tighten. Additionally, we've been cracking down on local corruption among tax collectors and minor lords," June says in a tiny voice. "So, yes, but we're getting better.

What do you think about Horatio being in OZ? He has no army, no Risen, no benefactor, and is totally outmatched by several of the other Outlanders. Do you still think he's dangerous?

"Absolutely," June says. "He's not to be underestimated as a fighter - it took myself and my husband working in tandem to defeat him. He's clever and crafty - even if he's underequipped now, I'm sure he could become a threat soon. Frankly, you underestimate him at your own peril."

The dragon sitting atop the World Tree is actually Grima's own ancestor, and is far more powerful than anyone realizes. Only you know the true danger everyone is in, but no one believes you. What do you do?

"I'd show them, then. Tell them to stay back and challenge it myself if I have to."

You have been captured by Ephesus and escape is impossible. They're planning to execute you, but one of the highest ranking Generals, General Galahad, takes a personal interest in you. Would you get closer to him in the hopes of finding a way to escape?

June thinks for a minute. "The general of... wind, right? If what I've read of him is true, he'd probably be willing to at least listen to me. Well, 'who' doesn't particularly matter - I'd be willing to get close to any of them that seemed receptive. But not in hopes of escape. I want... I hope I can help convince Yuelia and Ephesus to work together."

What's the worst near-death experience you've been in?

June touches her scar. "Do I really need to say it? This was inflicted by Flamberge, Grima's claw. It should have been a mortal wound. Even the archbishop's healing left it... looking like this."

When the Yuelians revive Cia the Sorceress, do you intend to go home, or stay and help the people of OZ?

"...I don't know yet. I want to help them, but I'm so... lonely... I want to go home, but I can't just leave turn my back on people in need..."

Were you in Glinda's shoes, would you have called upon otherworld aid to save your kingdom?

June looks down guiltily. "If you'd asked me two days ago, I'd have said yes without hesitation. But now, having been torn away from my family, knowing what it feels like... I don't know that I could."

Are you afraid that when Yuelia sends you home using their ritual, something will go wrong with the spell again, and you'll find yourself many centuries in the future with all your loved ones long gone?

"Do... Do you really think that could happen?" June asks sadly, a hint of panic in her voice.

"Well, if you hadn't been so uncooperative-" Anna begins.

June's face twists into a furious snarl.  "I danced for you! Put up with your stupid costumes, the tick- I let Catie - Catie! - tickle me!  In front of everybody!  Why don't you strap yourself down and try taking a turn with that, huh!?  I'd say I've been pretty ****ing cooperative!"

Anna looks thoughtful for a minute. "Alright, alright, fair enough. Remember that time flows a bit differently here - I usually try to avoid spoilers, but you won't remember anyway. I promise, that doesn't happen. Now, will you calm down and let us finish up?"

What would you do if Yuelia's Sorceress was killed, or never intended to give you the chance to go home at all, and you're stuck living out the rest of your days in OZ?

"I... I don't know. Try to live one day at a time, I guess."

If you find yourself unable to return to your world for some reason, would you consider remarrying?

"No," June shakes her head forcefully.

Do you still remember that insane Doctor you encountered and fought years ago who was experimenting on Laguz?

"JECKEL!" June yells in a furious, squeaky tone. She starts squirming angrily in Anna's grasp.

"Yes, yes, Jeckel," Anna says.

If you encountered him again on OZ, and found out he was the one responsible for most of the chaos in OZ and that you could have prevented it if you were stronger back then, how would you feel?

"I... did all I could..." June says guiltily. "I try not to dwell on it, but... I know letting him escape because I was too afraid to fight him - if I could've... So much suffering could have been avoided. Naga only knows what else that madman's done..."

What would you do if someone in your army turns out to become a murderous psychopath with a habit of brutalizing his foes in battle, but is loyal and well-meaning otherwise?

"I would try to help them if I could. If I knew it was hopeless, I remove them from the battlefield and relegate them to a support position."

Why bother hiding your royal status? It's not like it means anything in another world.

"Well... Yes, that's actually one of my reasons. When I first arrived, I had no idea who I could trust or who might be a threat. I thought it would be safer if people thought me a knight than a queen. Now I simply see no advantage to revealing myself... nor could I really prove my status if I did. But if I ever think revealing myself may help things, I won't hesitate."

"Well, that's it for June's mailbag - finally!" Anna announces. She grabs June by the nape of her neck and holds her up to the audience. "Any parting words for our faithful viewers?"

"Never again!" June yells in her meek voice. "And you better pray I forget everything, Anna! If I ever get my hands on you-"

"Ladies and gentlemen, that's the end of our show! Thanks for coming out. And I'm sure June would thank you, too, if she weren't so mad." Anna waves to the audience.

June struggles violently against Anna's grip. "I'm not thanking anyone! I'm going to-"

Anna gives the audience a final wave as she disappears backstage. She holds the minuscule, combative June inches from her face as a monstrous smile slowly spreads across her face. "You know, we've still got some time before that mushroom wears off and we can send you home... And it looks like someone's in a bad mood. But I know just the thing for that! Oh, Ca-a-a-ti-i-ie~?"
