I just need help with icons and wondering if the lower rank feats for talents and stuff are required to get the higher rank feats (ala "Feat Tax" from 3.x DnD).

Just a campaign specific ones and how exactly they work, since it's a little confusing, especially while on post-surgical medication.

Just a campaign specific ones and how exactly they work, since it's a little confusing, especially while on post-surgical medication. The Emperor, the Great Gold Wyrm, the Three, the Prince of Shadows, the High Druid, and the Orc Lord are the most prominent Icons for this campaign, with the Lich King and Diabolist to a lesser extent, but all the Icons will play a part. Not sure what you mean with how they... Work...? Icons are the most powerful and influential people in the realm. They each have their own spheres of influence and their own agendas. If you mean what Icons you should invest points in, that depends on your character's background. A young Forgeborn who wants to start a revolution and free his people would probably have a conflicted or even negative relationship with the Dwarf King, for example. Mechanics-wise, whenever an event comes up in the campaign involving an Icon's underlings or the Icon themselves(And I judge it to be important enough), I will tell someone who has a relationship with that Icon to roll me a 1d6. The results depend on the type of relationship you have with the Icon and your roll. For example, if someone has 3 points in a Positive Relationship with the Priestess, that means the Priestess knows your character quite well(Either by reputation or personally) and respects/loves/admires etc them. If the party urgently needs to see the Priestess for whatever reason, but it's after midnight, the Cathedral is closed, and she's in the middle of an important ritual or ceremony that may or may not be important to the plot, I would ask you to roll a 1d6. If you roll a 5, the guards let you through and escort you to the Priestess, but there may be complications later on that arise from this. For example, maybe the Priestess was trying to contain a dangerous Living Dungeon, and interrupting her made her lose control of it, freeing an extremely grumpy and ancient Red dragon- something you wouldn't find out until later. She might also decide to have you guys do a favor for her before she helps you. Like sealing that dungeon you so rudely freed. If you roll a 6, the guards beg your forgiveness and tell you right where to find the Priestess, not even bothering to escort you because the Priestess trusts you. You'll probably arrive just as the Priestess finishes her ritual with no consequences, and catch her in a very good mood in which she's happy to help you in any way she can. You roll anything less than a 5, and you have to spend the night in the Inn and wait for morning like normal people. Negative and Conflicted relationships are a bit more... Interesting. If you have a negative relationship with the Lich King, and you're trying to parley with one of his minions, it ain't gonna end well, even if you roll a 6. However, rolling a 5 or a 6 on a Negative Relationship WILL still have some kind of advantage for you. Rolling a 6 in that same scenario may mean you goad the Lich King's minion into attacking you in a blind rage, giving you a massive advantage in the coming battle, and may even mean surprise reinforcements from the Emperor himself. Most Icons have an opposite, or antithesis. The Emperor and the Lich King, the Three and the Gold Wyrm, the Dwarf King and the Elf Queen, the Elf Queen and the Orc Lord, the Priestess and the Crusader, the Crusader and the Diabolist, etc. Having a Negative Relationship with an Icon's archenemy will open some doors with said Icon. After all, the enemy of my enemy is my friend and all. Rolling a 2-4 on a Positive Relationship may still yield some information, but not much. Rolling a Critical Failure(1) won't do anything, good or bad, but you also won't get what you wanted. Rolling a 2-4 on a Conflicted Relationship won't do anything. Rolling a Critical Failure may have hilariously bad results. Rolling a 2-4 on a Negative Relationship won't do much other than make the person hate you even more. Rolling a Critical Failure on this one will wind you in a very bad spot. That's really all there is to Icons. I'm going to post info on the other Icons today, as well as info on all the races, and info on Living Dungeons if I have time.

Ya, you're all starting at level 1.
Crow, if you still have some free time to help me test things, and don't mind minor spoilers, I could really use your input on balancing the boss of the first dungeon. In a bit though. May be leaving in a couple minutes to get food and look for a copy of 13 True Ways.

I put most of my info directly onto the roll 20 sheet, Neo. I'll just have a question or two later.

I'll just post the details about my character here so y'all can see it. My Chromebook doesn't wanna save it as a .pdf or in that website's filetype.
I may end up tweaking the icon relationships or starting inventory a bit.

Lurk, I'm trying my best, but I don't think I'm going to be able to get your custom portrait to work. Trying to resize the image you want, cut it, and fit it into the portrait background is a nightmare.
