The Schism: A 13th Age RP Campaign

Session summary!

Giants are bros. Ninian's bro is also a bro (and Iddy's future guardian) and people are probably trying to frame him by attacking the village. Roll initiative.

Tomorrow night? A shortish one. I have to be two towns over at 8AM Monday.

Important detail I forgot to mention during session. After the battle at Hero's Pass, you guys heard cawing and saw two crows circling overhead, seemingly watching you.

Oh Crow.

Session summary for Misty! The battle at Hero's Pass goes really well. It turns out it was a trap meant for the Frost Giant King, but the Frost Giants Boom and Bewm were really dumb. After the battle, Warin examines the dwarven cannon Bewm was using and finds out it's exceptionally made, exceptionally powerful, and a single force having a lot of these could revolutionize warfare and make that force the most dominant on the planet.

Reiner is very epic during the battle. Seren's respect for him is already at max. Also after the battle, Solara shows up to come get Karth. It is a very different Solara than the party is used to seeing; extremely menacing, extremely dangerous, extremely serious, not reigning her power in even a little. She's all business. She leaves the party with an ominous warning, apparently to repay some debt to Seren, saying that one way or another, the 13th Age will come to a close soon.

After that, the party decides to send Iddy back to report to the Frost Giant King, bringing along the orders the party found on Boom's corpse, while the rest of them scout out the area beyond Hero's Pass. There the party finds vast open snowy plains, leading up to a high cliff, and the fortress of the dwarven rebels sitting atop it.

Warin repairs the cannon and the party hatch an insane scheme: The Dragon Cannon. Seren convinces Reiner to let them put a saddle and harness on him, then mount the cannon on his back, tying it down with all the rope they had. With Nyl on Reiner, operating the cannon, and Seren and Warin on Ninian, the twin Kushalas flew towards the rebel fort and began obliterating it.

With Answers playing in the background(For the party), the party laid waste to the large fortress, raining down cannon fire and Kushala breath attacks and spells and crossbow bolts, while surrounding the fort with a giant fierce blizzard created by Seren and boosted by the Kushala siblings.

At Warin's behest, Ninian takes him and Seren down into the fort's ruined courtyard to look for the enemy leader, the former High Priest of the Dwarven Church, Durgan Stormchild. They found the panicked dwarf in the courtyard, and after a few heated words(Durgan claims he's doing what's best for the dwarven people, Warin tells him to shove it with an epic speech), battle ensues.

Durgan proves he's one tough cookie, with every Cleric spell and ability in his arsenal, but the party throws everything against him, including a Dodongo totem, Alexander, Quetzacoatyl, dragon cannon fire, and repeated blizzards to the face. Also Seren has a terrifying but epic moment where she convinces three dwarven zealots to drink lethal poison, claiming it to be booze, killing them instantly.

Durgan is nearing his final breaths, but he's not done just yet. Don't miss the exciting conclusion, next time on Schism Ball Z!

I have no idea how Nyl's Fortune Telling works in-universe. Ask me when I'm not sleep deprived.

I don't work this weekend(Yaaaay), so can people do a session Saturday night? Also, no, I haven't forgotten about loot.

You guys got loot from the Durgan boss battle and the fort. Specifically, Durgan's staff, amulet, and tome, and a couple of secret forging recipes from the workshop that you guys can take to a Master Blacksmith to forge you some cool new stuff(Assuming you have the right materials, of course).

There's also still some loot from a few sessions ago iirc that I haven't given you the stats on, some potions I think.
