Hey GX, want some help plotting? Have some ideas? A few. Want me to PM you? Or, if you're free, you could pop onto STARS and we could talk, which might be faster than me typing.

How2Monk
Step 1: HWATCHA Step 2: Hooooooo Step 3: HYAATAH
Pathfinder has archer monks. Our "ranger" was a monk. Pretty reliable DPS with some good burst, and decent defense and HP to boot.

So, Crow, Cheese. Do Paladins and Clerics get any Divine Spells? I'm too lazy to look it up.

Paladins can choose to get 1 as a talent but don't have to. I may take one at l level 8, haven't decided.

My copy of the 13th Age Bestiary came in today! Hypuuuuu! Yay for Prime Shipping! It's really cool. You guys are in store for some fun battles. Hey GX, when you get some free time tonight, wanna work on your character? I forgot to include myself as a participant in the PM I sent you so I can't post anymore ideas until you reply to it.

I might be able to. Didn't think to check. Also, guess what Lurk, Tarrasques are things in 13th Age too, and they're level 15 Epic monsters.

Holy crap, how are you supposed to beat a Tarrasque. 0_0

You're not.
5E's Tarrasque's literally cannot be killed, even with a Wish spell. Once reaching 0 HP, it only goes unconscious for a few months.
Also, I figured out all the weird Monk mechanics if you and GX want some help with that.

Also, I figured out all the weird Monk mechanics if you and GX want some help with that. It is technically possible for a 10th level epic tier party to defeat a Tarrasque with a great deal of tactics and planning(and luck), but holy crap would it be seriously hard. Those things are like Intermediate Deities. I might even decide to treat them as such. Also, that would be so helpful Lurk. You have perfect timing. Could you post the Monk stuff here?

Yep, though I would really like helping GX personally, since we haven't gotten to talk much today.
Monks do not have normal Attack standard actions. Instead, they perform actions determined by their various Forms, however the actions must be in a specific order.
First an opening move must be used. The turn following an opening move a flow moce or another opening move can be used. After a flow move a finishing move or another opening move can be used, and after that, you start with opening again.
Opening attacks are generally the weakest, and finishing attacks are generally the strongest. However, each have various effects.
The actions of each type that you use must belong to a Form/Stance or whatever they're called that you know. However, you're not restricted to using the same Form during the move progression.
Talents are generally passive abilities, but the Three Seven Deadly Secret Talents are activated abilities, and only one can be used in an instance of combat, though it may be used as many times as you want in the combat.

You can PM her the Monk mechanics and talk with her about it instead of me. There's nothing wrong with that. You can also explain any other gameplay questions she might have, probably better than I can. You just can't know her character's backstory, is all. As a GM, I'm pretty strict about that.
However, I will say that I'm changing the "no standard melee attack" rule for Monks. I don't believe a player should be forced to start a Form if they don't want to under the circumstances, so Monks can make standard melee attacks like any other class.

All the form moves are already attacks of some sort. Most actually have a specific effect (like popping free, or giving extra movement). The Forms just control what special effect is used and what damage dice to use (JAB is d6, PUNCH is d8, and KICK is d10).

I know that, Lurk. But after watching over 150 episodes of a 13th Age campaign on YT where one of the PCs played a Monk/Rogue, I also know that it's sometimes better just to make a standard melee attack. And players should have that option if they so choose. Standard melee attacks will use the Punch damage die.
Also, apparently 13th Age Tarrasques are immortal too, just like 5E ones. They can only be killed by a Major Deity. Otherwise, if their HP reaches 0, they just go hibernate.

Standard attack would only be better because it's a Multiclass, which I think is exempt from the rule.

I don't think the srd mentions any limits on what kind of attacks can be enhanced with Smite Evil...
Smite Evil throwing axe? Smite Evil arrow? Smite Evil shield bash (assuming there's a shield bash)? Smite Evil headbutt?
