I think our barbarian was barbarianing wrong, then...
I have no idea what Commander is but I'm guessing Cavalier-esque.
.................Terrain Caster Druid.................. ...I could finally emulate the coolest FF class ever...

Monk GX. Don't get mad, punch stuff to death anyways. I like it. But don't we already have that role filled?

Commander is more like 4e's Warlord. A Cavalier would probably just be a Fighter with a homebrewed talent. We don't have a Monk, and Monks can do a lot in 13th Age, so much that I barely read the class entry for it since its got so much stuff

Looking into the monk idea then. Time to start with the crazy plotting and character concept creation.

The only reason I'd say to hesitate on going Monk is a rather obscure rule: "Announce your action during your turn in your best Hong Kong action theater voice unless that conflicts with your character’s story." Having another front-liner's not generally a bad thing. If things turn out really unbalanced, Cheese and I can both take a few ranged combat cleric spells.

Looking into the monk idea then. Time to start with the crazy plotting and character concept creation. I want to help! I'm quite familiar with Monks. Monks are really, really cool. It's basically what I want Rena to be in STARS. They're usually "Grandmaster" types, but there's plenty of ways to make them unique.

But first, sleep. It's when I do some of my best planning, anyway.

Just putting that out there. Also, Monks can spend "Ki points" to use Ki based abilities, some of which I'm 99% sure are ranged. Like DBZ.

So, I've just finished outlining a loose... Well, outline of the campaign's main plot. I ain't gonna do much more than that though as far as planning goes, because my experience as a GM has told me the players can, and always will, find many ways to surprise you and a flexible campaign is more fun.

So, I've just finished outlining a loose... Well, outline of the campaign's main plot. I ain't gonna do much more than that though as far as planning goes, because my experience as a GM has told me the players can, and always will, find many ways to surprise you and a flexible campaign is more fun. One of the last D&D campaigns I played in, we skipped a full third of the usual campaign our DM ran. Due to an illusionary island on a separate plane (unbeknownst to us) that we basically started out in, he gave us the ability to occasionally catch a Fae on an incredibly high reflex check which would grant us wishes in exchange for letting it go. After catching on to how it worked, we wished for two key items; a magic portrait which showed us anyone or anything in the world and an item which let us stop time for a very limited duration. Naturally, we mostly used them to harvest more wishes. But the most important one of those was a magic caravan which let our characters store gold and this magic ore that was the main currency on the island and have it multiply inside to a functionally infinite amount. Well, it turned out that the magic ore was an important resource being mined inside the island and our magical money cheat caravan had to get it from somewhere, so we were actually hastening an apocalyptic scenario in this wizard's plane by being horrible gamebreakers by draining all the magic ore which kept up its existence. Beyond that, which pretty much halved our early game, we were actually his first players to manage to beat this evil wizard in his island to the artifact he needed (I take credit for that since I wished for the magic portrait,) so unknowingly having an artifact storing a demon god and whatnot, we very quickly after leaving the island managed to start a war between good and evil that was supposed to happen near the end. Luckily, we all chose hideously broken 3.5e races so there wasn't any real problem with being underleveled. We didn't get to keep our magic items, though.

We could trap her in a bottle and use her to occasionally restore HP

She's not taking Lay on Hands until level 5, at which point she should be strong enough to take down a bottle. Since until you can rank it up to champion it uses your own recovery dice, and I intend to be taking the brunt of the attacks anyway and'll probably need them.
That'd be a pretty big bottle, besides.
