D. He might make a worthy ship. And fighters are boring.
Also, no one voted for the MC to be a dragon. I am very disappointed in all of you. But Lu Linqui is the next best thing. I only wish Dougey understood the reference and had made the MC a lance user because of it... That would have earned him some quality time. Oh well.

Honestly more disappointed there was no Tharja option.... or Lucario option (even rhough if Lucina won could that have been our MCs name???)

Stepping outside, you look to the side for Jin'ka, and see him holding his cloak tight again as he stares down the road from the alley you both stand in. "Hey. Guard decided to let you go?"
He turns back, already shaking his head, and smiles. His expression is almost motherly in how caring it seems. "Not quite. They don't have guards here, I'm told. The law enforcement is all up to the civilians. To their credit, they're tougher people than hardtack, but at the same time, it seems a rather dangerous system to me. Thank you, by the way. I'd have likely died without you there, madam. You shall be in my prayers."
"I... appreciate your gratitude. But are you going to be alright? The area seems at least a little hostile to you, and I know this here is the only inn for about a mile. But I suppose to have made it this far inland you must know how to survive." You roll your hand over in the air, almost to dismiss your own ramblings, but Jin'ka laughs.
"I wish, hmhmhm. No, most of my survivability so far is to the credit of my own luck, and benevolent strangers such as yourself. Thank you, again, for the knowledge. I suppose this would be the only place to sleep, then, but at the same time, hard to say it would be safe to sleep here with how the locals have received me. Doesn't help that I have a small budget either... Perhaps I would be better off continuing towards Ylisse for the night." He begins to scratch at his hair, still pondering his options. His furrowed brow makes his discomfort with the situation apparent, even as he absentmindedly begins to turn away, looking towards the town's border.
Under his cloak, you can see a rather loose, black outfit, with various items poking out of his pockets. Daggers, a healing salve, lockpicks, even a hair brush. Odd, given how his blonde hair seemed to be forever tossed about by the wind. His thoughtless steps forward have almost taken him out of the back alley.
A. You call out to him and offer to let him stay the night with you at the inn. He seems a trustworthy enough man, and cold, and you could both use the rest.
B. You follow him. The both of you are foreigners in Regna Ferox, and the incident tonight has left you wary of the village, so leaving sooner is a welcome thought.
C. You let him walk off. You are tired, and he should be fine.
D. You make up a plan of action. The tactical side of your mind is alive with ideas. (Write-in.)

Reaching out, you grab Jin'ka by the shoulder, jolting him back into a more aware state of mind. "Hey. I've already got a room here, if you'd like to spend the night. I imagine you would, since, going out there, at night, in Regna Ferox of all places... You'd die of cold, unless you happen to have some fire tomes hiding in that cloak." A light tug on his shoulder snares a smile out of the both of you.
"Alright, alright, if you say so. You're far too kind, miss..." He trails off as the both of you start to walk back to the inn.
"Adena. Pleasure to meet you." Stepping back into the inn, you take another look around. The cleric seems to have disappeared, and you witness Kurevor heading up the stairs. The fighter from before has downed what appears to be his fourth drink. "Jin'ka, why don't you head on upstairs, third room on the left. I'd like to speak with this man."
"I suppose it would go better without me. We are both foreigners, though, I would suggest caution." You nod at him as you walk to the bar.
"Excuse me, sir?" He looks up at the sound of your voice, then glares off to the side at Jin'ka. You follow his gaze back to meet eyes, and both of you stare intensely.
The man crosses his arms and gestures to the bartender for two more drinks. "Look. I don't intend to forget you saving me, girl. I'll even buy ya a few drinks. But I'm not about to stand the sight of you, or the vagrant tramp, for long. So ya better get on out of it 'fore I sober up." The bartender hands him two drinks, and he hands you one with a slow movement, trying to not pose a threat for the moment.
"I'll take what I can get, haha. I'm Adena. And you?" Taking the drink, you smile in the face of his threatening words, as your father had taught you. A challenge was always welcome.
"Rigori. Shut up and drink."
You drank a couple more drinks with Rigori, and left when your exhaustion from the day's effort settled in. Barely in the door, you see Jin'ka, mostly undressed, praying at the foot of the bed. He still wore his pants, but his cloak, shoes, and shirt hung on a nightstand nearby. The sight was nothing to you, courtesy of joining your father for training sessions frequently when you were home, but you had no intention of acting like it. "There's only one bed in here, I had best see you clothed within the next couple of minutes."
"My apologies, of course." Jin'ka stands, and on his chest you can see three large, vertical scars, clearly from burns, and cleanly shaped. "How was your conversation with my assailant?" He chuckles, as though him nearly being murdered earlier was a friendlier event.
You shrug before snapping the cape off your shoulders. "Not especially pleasant, but peaceful at least. We need to leave town in the morning, but I believe that was the plan regardless. We should consider our options for the morning carefully. Including whether our options will include each other." As you take off the last of your armor and sit on the bed, Jin'ka tosses his body down on the opposite end. His eyes seem to be nearly closed most of the time, but now, as you lay across from him, they seem wide open, fixated on you, when in truth they remain as narrow as ever.
"I suppose you are right. Though I think I will worry about it in the morning. Good night, miss Adena, and thank you again for the charity. Most women would be fearful to have some dangerous rogue spend a night in their bed."
"Ha, dangerous. Perhaps if I thought you might be physically stronger than me, or there wasn't a group of men outside wanting for an excuse to take your head, or didn't practically owe me your life... Or if you had kept that knife at your waistband." He smiles again, and you scoff. Sleep appears to claim him before you.
Apparitions parade around a dining hall, its dark sandstone floor contrasting the bright white pillars, which seem to be made of a giant lizard's bones. You look to the side, then up at your mother as she tightly holds your hand. She smiles and looks down. "Dear, why don't you go meet one of the other kids? Don't be scared, they're my friends' children, they should love to meet you."
You constantly glance back while you walk away. Your mother approaches a man and a woman, both with dark blue hair like your father, and identical swords at their waists. An odd sight, for a feast. You find your seat and look up. Across from you is...
A. A cocky young brunette, who seems to enjoy polishing the armor he is wearing at the table for whatever reason.
B. A white haired young man whose eyes seem wildly alive as he flips pages in a tome.
C. A Taguel girl with what seems to be a scar on her face. A practice sword hangs from her hip.
D. A solemn young boy with a harp and blue hair.
E. A black haired girl, with a small wyvern next to her at the table.
F. A Taguel boy who cannot seem to wait for his meal to arrive.
G. A foreign girl with white hair and a katana at her side, wearing what looks like a fancy robe.

Fair warning: this choice decides several things, including who the deuteragonist is. About as important as the parent choice.

The girl across from you smiles. One of her long rabbit ears nearly falls down onto her plate, and she elegantly brushes it back. "Hi. My name is Sydene. You're the queen's daughter, aren't you?"
On your plate lies an abstract mash of food and colors, an incomprehensible dish. Looking around, you find a similar blur present on the faces of the nearby crowds. You draw your attention back to the girl, as it seems useless elsewhere. "I'm Adena. And, um, yeah, but I'm also the king's daughter.
She giggles. "Yes, I suppose. My mother said he isn't as involved with the kingdom, though."
"No... He only really involves himself when mom needs the support. He spends a lot of time with us as a family instead of as a king, which I think is nice. We go out of the palace a lot to train."
The food on her fork is as clear to you as her face. The fruit salad looks delicious, and you note that her plate is devoid of meat. Looking closer, what you assumed was a scar appears to be a birthmark, partially obscured by her hairline. It seems almost an oval to you, but pointed, and not all filled in. "My father is like that too, but we're not a royal family, and he just likes to go out and enjoy the forests. They've been treating us like royalty here, though, it's fun."
Looking down at your own plate, you find it is as blurry as the rest of the world seems to be. Even your hands are difficult to look at as you put some food in your mouth. "Mm, all of mom's friends and family get treated like this, it seems. That's probably why they let you have that sword."
"Well, they were going to, until they looked at my face."
"Is it the thingie on your forehead? I have a mark on the palm of my hand that my mom likes me to keep exposed at home, and sometimes the guards look at it. Then they let me do whatever, pretty much." You hold your right hand out in front of you as you speak of it, and it now seems clear as day to you.
"Can I see?" Without waiting, she grabs your hand, staring intently at the glove on it. She stops there, and looks in your eyes expectantly.
"Oh, sure." You take off your glove, and she marvels at your palm. "Sometimes the guards act really- huh?"
She presses your palm to her head, against her own mark, and smiles. "Warm..."
You wake up to find Jin'ka with his hand on your forehead. "Oh, you seemed to be sweating an awful lot, I was worried you might have a fever. Feeling alright?" This might be the first time you have seen him frown.
"Y-Yes... Don't mind me. What time is it? We need to be going." You look out the window and find the sun barely rising. You find it a good thing you did not sleep in too long. A suspicious thing that Jin'ka did not either.
At breakfast, you and Jin'ka had largely opposite meals; his was almost vegetarian, while you ate the majority of the meat available to the both of you. The inn's food was pleasant, but you expected the topic of conversation to be less so. "So, where will you be going now? I imagine staying around this part of Ferox isn't an option, and neither is going back to your homeland. Assuming you're from Chon'sin, anyway."
"Indeed. Not many guess it from my hair, but my face does make it rather easy. I won't judge you for making a guess off of appearance either, given you haven't acted on it." He sips his tea and nods, as though he is finished speaking. You gesture from him back to yourself, hoping to get him to continue.
"Ah, my apologies. I suppose I have little for direction in this country, so I would be comfortable following you. But if you'd rather I didn't, I can be on my own way. I was traveling a bit east still, towards the holier parts of the continent. The kind sister from yesterday told me the village just south of here was somewhat troubled, and her fellows were down there now to do some charity work. I had been thinking about visiting the town... But if you will have me, then I shall go wherever."
"I see. I've been traveling rather aimlessly myself, doing mercenary work. I suppose..."
A. You decide to go east. B. You decide to go to the town to the south. C. You decide to look for mercenary work in town. D. You make up a plan of action. The tactical side of your mind is alive with ideas. (Write-in.)
1. You take Jin'ka with you. He seems a useful man. 2. You leave Jin'ka to his own devices. He seems a risk to have around.

You get up from your chair suddenly. "Come on, let's go find us some work before we leave. Can't just wander without purpose or solid direction. The fort here is effectively a guild hall, if you didn't know." Looking back at Jin'ka expectantly, you raise an eyebrow, wordlessly questioning his compliance.
"Alrighty. Let me just..." He stuffs several breads and other foodstuffs in his pockets before following you out of the inn. On the way to the fort, he thinks about the life of a mercenary out loud. You mostly ignore it, paying attention to how silently he walks instead. Almost unsettling to see. "...and I suppose you would not certainly need to learn foreign languages to have job security, but I would imagine it helps a fair bit."
"Most clients don't care how you speak if your sword is sharp enough. Here we are." The fortress shows no signs of proper military maintenance, but the amount of warriors walking about gives the place a sense of security in spite of that. "Keep your hands out of people's purses, while we're here at least."
"As you wish." You are quickly pointed to your left, where you find the board full of job requests, and some potential clients lurking about to hire more directly. "So, how many dragons to you expect to fight on this job, Adena? Mmhmhm."
"None, as usual." You snatch up a couple of interesting requests immediately, and notice a regal-looking young man nearby looking for people, but are kept from considering them for very long.
"Oi ya lil' brats! Thought I made it clear, I won't stand the sight of ya's again." Rigori approaches you, axe perched on his shoulder, with two mercenaries and some soldier flanking him. "Who in all the hells said ya could come and take our jobs too!? Raise yer blades already if'n ya want a chance. I won't have no regrets cutting down unarmed bastards."
The men at his sides appear calm, less passionate. The regal fellow is glaring at all of you. Jin'ka is whistling to himself. You...
A. Start fighting. Feroxi laws are so wonderfully enabling. B. Offer Rigori a duel. This is his issue, not the other men's. C. Ignore Rigori. You lack the time for petty hate. D. You make up a plan of action. The tactical side of your mind is alive with ideas. (Write-in. 1, 2, 3 or none mandatory.)
1. You accept the job to save a maiden that a man saw being taken by a necromancer. 2. You accept the job to clear out a slum that was overrun by "monsters." 3. You talk to the regal-looking man about the job he has to offer. Whatever it is must pay well.
