For some reason I thought that I can spread points between DCV, Armour, and defensive techniques, without realizing that you can't even use the techniques if you fail the defense roll, and that armour is the only thing that will reduce damage from a hit (absorption notwithstanding). I also didn't realize I can't do any damage at all if I don't win an ACV roll. But...it seems like another 1 point in Companion for VCSEL gives me 10 points for Kitty so I should be able to get up to the idea of a "tank scout" soon enough (I'm also guessing this is why Neo is so eager to get points since each one buffs dragon form by a lot). And I'll just attack less often. Maybe add "Judge Opponent" or some other useful "scout" skill since my definite advantage is how much I can move per round. And for the record, I thought that the encounter was well designed, other than that it felt like we only survived because of a deus ex machina. But then again I suppose vagueness is part of the game. My dragon works a bit differently, since it's an Alternate Form, not a companion. I need 8 points in order to upgrade Rena's Alternate Form attribute, which will in turn let me buff my dragon. However, since we're probably only going to be getting 2-4 points for a while, I'm going to spend them on upgrading Rena's human form.

Hmmm, Crow, do you think the Drill would have been able to take out what's-her-name? It's Weapon Level 12 and 12 Penetrating, so it would deal 68 damage (+5 to ACV from Attack Mastery) and ignore 48 points of armor.

I think she had DCV 7?

And with the Drill, I have an effective 8 ACV.

I sincerely doubt it. She had something insane like 300HP and a crapton of armor. Also, pretty sure Crow mentioned she had a 8 ACV. Regardless, she DEFINITELY would have one-shot Kurt in close quarters combat. A single attack from her Lightsaber did over 50 points of damage to Bill, who's in full power armor that has 60 armor rating.

Kurt isn't fighting though.
The drone is, and he can control it remotely. The drone has 48 armor and 20 armor in the form of force-fields, so it might have been able to tank a few hits.

Which is good. She's supposed to be intimidating.

Right, so, yes. You guys need to go ahead and decide where you're going next so I can start making the map on the off chance we actually go faster than I expect for once. The AI's going to list off some stuff you need and points of interest. A, Scrapland. B, Tiber. Y, New Washington (Probos capital, towards [still unnamed ancient alien] space). X, New New Washington (Asinate capital, towards amalgamated alien space). Stuff you need: new rods for the main reactor (stardrive uses separate fuel), probably food? except VCSEL, updated star map, a mysterious chemical you'd need a high mind/chemistry roll to identify. E - Probos space, small agricultural planet - food, map, chemical G - Cervin space, trading outpost planet - food, chemical, reactor H - Neutral space, abandoned ship - chemical, reactor, map F - Asinate space, core (urban) planet - food, reactor, map

Crow why. GMs are supposed to be impartial. Not want us to lose. Also, you read SoS. You've no reason to be surprised.

.... Wouldn't a trading outpost also have maps? Anyways, I'm thinking G.

.... Wouldn't a trading outpost also have maps? Anyways, I'm thinking G. Realistically, yes. Balancing-wise, no. Sold out. Computers are down. They're outdated. Too expensive. I don't know. Make your own reason. Get off my back. I'll be in the angry dome.

G sounds good. We need food and something to fix the reactor with as first priorities.

And the proper chemicals would probably be rarer than maps. Cause maps are maps. So G definitely seems to be the most sensible option.

Im tempted with H, but food is also a priority, since im sure we have no food supplies. If Tiber doesnt have any (we check before we leave) G it is.

Regi says G. I'm going to start throwing stuff together tomorrow, so. Y'know. Any last minute flip-flopping.

Nope. No flip-flopping from me. Though, could I give you an image to use for Rena's dragon token? I must have forgotten to do so before.
