Yeah, i was actually gonna ask him next game, or name him if he didnt had a name. I mean, in the rush, in Bill's mind, formalities could come later. Besides, we didnt expect an actual AI to be the ship's computer.

World-building! Most larger ships, especially military vessels, have a basic steward AI just because of how much is going on to keep the ship going and how hard it'd be to either A) have one human process all that or B) coordinate several humans processing all that.
They aren't too smart, think AI level 2 or 3 from the Cool Spaceships book. Say a mind score of 9 or 10 but like 0 or 1 soul. Capable of massive data-handling but no real initiative beyond following directions. In fact having an "unbound" AI would be all sorts of illegal in most sectors.

btw, until I'm told otherwise, I'm assuming everyone's good to do same time next week.

btw, until I'm told otherwise, I'm assuming everyone's good to do same time next week. As long as we aren't doing another two and a half hour campaign, yeah. I have to get up at 4 the next morning. If we could do it earlier that would be great though.

Thing is I don't have a set ending time for work on Fridays. 11 definitely, 10 almost definite, 9 likely, 8 extremely unlikely. As far as when we can start.

You guys are all EST right? I can do 11 or 10 if necessary, but I would really prefer 9. I kinda have a PT test that Saturday which may or may not decide the fate of my entire military career. So I'd prefer to have more than 4 hours of sleep.

And by "may or may not", I mean it definitely will.

What do you expect from Tabletop RPG players? For things to go exactly as planned? Pshaw.
One of my D&D groups managed to skip an entire third of the campaign just by making terrible decisions and getting incredibly lucky. :U

btw, until I'm told otherwise, I'm assuming everyone's good to do same time next week. What time is that again? I haven't much of a sense for these things. I'm Atlantic Time right now, so close enough to EST.

Well, I got 2/3 done, so some grumbles of mild irritation are still acceptable. tbh I dunno how far we'll get, especially since Neo has to wrap things up early-ish - speaking of, we need to nail down the start time - and I don't have any idea how long space combat'll go now, seeing as only 1 and a half of your characters can fight in space with their current stats and equipment, plus the ship's currently-limited weapons...

Roll for negotiate.
Maybe related question: What kind of penalty goes on a seduce roll from one AI to another?

I don't see why we have to do space combat at all this session. With Rena's piloting skill, I should be able to roll high enough that we can do some really fancy flying and evading and then just jump straight to hyperspace. Especially since I can use one or two of my rerolls to make sure I get a really good piloting roll. Tbh, I don't see why we can't start Tiber Station near the beginning of the session.

Because of several reasons. 1 related to Tiber's plot. 1 related to the campaign's overarching plot. 1 because your Star Drive takes 5 minutes to run its calculations and start at its current level. 1 to introduce a major NPC. And 1 because this is basically the tutorial fight.
