Kago --- "So, do you want to play?" asks Mason, grinning smugly as he flourishes his practice sword expertly. The two of you were hired to take part in the festivities tonight. It's a mock sword fight, one that the two of you have been practicing for over two days now. He is an excellent swordsman much like yourself, and the two of you quickly found a rhythm in the act. When the two of you finally stage the duel in front if the audience tonight, your blades should flow as naturally as they would in a real duel.
You hadn't met Mason before the day before yesterday, and you aren't keen on using your skills for the entertainment of others, but the job pays well and inns aren't cheap. Or the safer ones anyway. Now though, Mason wants to see which of you is the better bladesman.
"What do I get when I win?" you ask wryly.
"For now, let's just call this for bragging rights."
A) accept offer B) decline offer C) suggest stakes: a drink D) suggest stakes: his sword

I'm annoyed at nothing in particular. I wonder why that is? --- Garret --- You swing your legs lazily over the edge of the castle wall as you stare out over the Crystal blue waters of Dragon Maw Bay, admiring the view. Seeing the sea from up high like this, can almost make you forget the many times when those very waters frothed and stormed, attempting to dash you and your men against unforgiving stones on the shore. When the sea wasn't trying to kill you, you could almost call it beautiful, but that is the truth about most obstacles.
You picked this up as a job between jobs. Since the crew of the last ship you sailed on tried to gut you while you slept, forcing you to abandon ship and swim Back to shore, and the two prior to that were attacked by pirates, you have been a bit more thoughtful in regards to picking out a trustworthy ship when crossing the Dragon's Maw. The Sea Needle, a merchant vessel you have dealt with on numerous occasions is set to dock within the week, and you plan to be on it when it heads back south again. Hopefully your fourth attempt will end a bit more successfully.
The sun steadily rises into the sky. It seemed just moments ago you were watching the sun set, but already the sun is positioned well over the horizon.
What will you do?
A) keep watching the horizon B) continue touring the wall C) to sharpen your axe

Hmm... C. Gotta make sure my weapon is sharp, and I don't feel like falling off the edge.

Sorry about not posting for the past couple days. One of the fun things about being a teenager are random hormonal mood swings. For the past couple day's I've been generally apathetic and mildly depressed. Great for writing dark material, but it sucks for early planning/exposition.
Sorry about this. I'll have plenty of time tomorrow.

I never went through that phases. For me my teen years were pretty much isolation and anger continuously. Now its self doubt and apathy.

[Sarcasm]It only gets better, kid.[/Sarcasm] In all seriousness, let me share with you one of my favorite adages: You know you're an adult when you worry about the future more and sleep less. That, my friend, sums up adulthood to a tee. But don't worry, there certainly is a bright side to look forward to.

Hi. I'm still alive. I'm sorry, but I will get back to this within the next few days. I've been a little busy recently with stuff. I don't feel like talking about it.

Jurian ---
Drip... drip... drip
The water continues to leak from the small trough you can call your own. You really should try to plug the leak, but your guards haven't left you more than the coarsest of rags and you need them to keep warm during the night.
It was a misunderstanding that put you in here. Some merchant accused you of hexing him. In reality, you just hexed his dog. You were certain that the thing's eyes had changed color. It turns out that the dog was just a dog, and has some slightly enlarged teeth as an unseen side effect of your test. You thought he was more menacing-looking that way, but as it turns out, the merchant is a dog person, so now you are here. The dog's teeth should return to their normal sizes in a day or two, and you'll be out of here, hopefully. If not, well mages don't often stay imprisoned for very long. One way or another, you'll be getting out of here soon.
A) get a drink B) try to rest C) try to plug the leak with your flimsy bed sheet D) try to contact a guard

Well, as long as he's trying to stop the leak, he'll be awake and ready just in case some chance to get out comes. And, being a mage, he should know some other way to keep warm using magic or something else like that, so he's still prepared just in case he has to spend another night there. So I'll go with C.

Will Maynard ever live to dance another night?

Will Maynard ever live to dance another night? Yes. Probably once chapter 2 is done in OoD. The problem is, since I've decided to use actual game mechanics in OoD, I need to the same thing here, which is long, tedious, and not something I will be looking forward to. I need to redesign all of your characters so that they have balanced growth rates and stats as well as giving each of your characters a unique skill create several different enemy classes with their own abilities. Figure out how to incorporate an invincible enemy into a chapter without it killing everyone a la Gharnef (but not quite) yet making it kill able later (not a la Gharnef) Since no one is a healer, I need to play as one myself and how I'm going to do that while trying to kill you all, I have no idea. Balance it so that I don't instantly kill anybody. So basically, there are a few bugs I need to work out and some mechanics to design/redesign, and I'm lazy. But it will come back. I will start working on it today. I will message everyone their new character stats and abilities within a week or two, and after that I will make the enemy classes and we'll be set to start again. Once again, it will be 5 chapters but it will have no time limit, since I am not very good at keeping schedules I arbitrarily set for myself.

Hm... You weren't around for this when it started I think. The Last Light is an RPish CYOA competition. Each competitor gets a character that they try to steer through a CYOA of my creation. It is currently on hold because of the drastic change in the way I do CYOAs. Considering the maintenance and the fact that it isn't very far in, you could play if you want. If you want to play, then I ask for you to pick a number between 1 and 10 inclusive.

A mercenary it is. You have plenty of time, but try to create a back story for your character if you want. A name and gender is required. You have plenty of time, so let me know if you need to know anything in particular.
Keep in mind that if your character lives until the end, they will appear in OoD as an optional boss/sidequest boss or of you beat everyone else in the process of making it to the end, your character will become recruitable.
PM me character information instead of posting it here please.
