Name: Hector Blythe
Gender: Male
Age: 23
Appearance: tall, athletic and muscular, with tan, almost bronze skin and medium length white-blond hair which he wears freely. Dark blue, almost cobalt eyes. Chiseled, sharp features. Has a small faded scar on his bottom lip, a long jagged scar over his left eye, and two intricate yellow lines branded onto each arm, from his wrist to elbow, which he earned from his time at the Facility. He also has a strange birthmark on his right forearm that resembles a dragon's head. While working at his garage, he usually wears a black tank top and worn jeans. While out in public, however, he always dresses nicely and sharply, and he always carries himself with a confident, almost aristocratic air. If he has to go to official functions, he styles his hair in a long braid and wears a white suit. Due to his appearance and attitude, he can easily pass as a Noble.
Starting Deck: Lightsworns
Background: Born in the slums, he and his sister were orphaned since birth, and never knew their parents. They were raised in Karla's Orphanage, and were inseparable. Partly due to being slightly older, Hector always felt responsible for his younger sister, and was more of a father to her than a brother. Circumstances forced him to mature at an early age, and he often had to pull his mischievous, tomboyish sister out of trouble. One day, after his sister had disappeared on one of her usual adventures, Hector went searching for her and stumbled upon a deck of Duel Monster cards lying in an abandoned house, along with a broken, beat up Duel Runner. He took both back to the Orphanage, where he first learned to duel. He started repairing the old Duel Runner he found, and that would be the very same Duel Runner that took him to the pinnacle of the Dueling world, much later in his life. His sister became fascinated by Duel Runners as well, and one day, while Hector was working part time in a small garage to support them, she took his duel runner out for a spin without him knowing. He didn't find out about the accident until later. A body was never found, but he blamed himself. He sank into a deep depression, from which he was only able to recover thanks to his few close friends, and an anonymous note that told him if he wanted to know what really happened to his sister, then he should get stronger and find his answers by dueling. He entered the Pro Dueling World not long after, and quickly became a rising star. He even rose to the top of the Pro Circuit, and became the first Duel King from the Slums. He reigned as King for two whole years, undefeated, before a fateful duel against a prominent duelist known as the Golden Emperor. For reasons known only to him, he forfeited the duel, and was hailed as a coward and stripped of his titles. Afterwards, he tried to attack the Governor, and was arrested and sent to the Facility, where he stayed for a full year. Now, three years after being released from the facility, he owns and operates a small Garage in the slums, making his living working on Duel Runners. He's sworn never to duel again, but should he have to, he knows what he's capable of. Due to a genetic birth defect, he has never been able to access the full range of human emotion, and because of this he often comes off as very cold and aloof. He often describes "seeing" emotion in color, though few people can understand what he means.

Appearance: Short, slight woman. Generally wears business casual - white shirt, black tie, black jacket and skirt, dark grey pantyhose and black heels. Tends to wear a pair of black reading glasses. Long, black hair just beginning to show signs of turning grey.

Background: Growing up, Erin didn't much care for Duel Monsters. She started learning when she was 15, under the instruction of her crush - they ended up breaking up shortly before college. Erin attended a moderately prestigious university where she studied business administration and logistics, with minors in computer science and psychology, hoping to get an edge over her competitors. It seemed to work, and she landed an extremely well-paying - if demanding - job working as secretary to the CEO of Avalon Corporation himself. She grew quite attached to his daughter, Alicia, frequently attending events with her in her father's stead. On the day of the Hazama incident, she was fortunately in the hospital after being struck by a car a few days earlier. After recovering, she assumed guardianship of Alicia.

Her eyes are a eery mixture of midnight black and icy blue. Wears a tight black leather one-piece riding suit with a zipper in the back, black leather boots, fingerless black gloves, and a silver half mask that conceals the upper portion of her face. Wears black eyeliner with two, ominous black lines that extend from the corners of her eyes down the sides of her cheeks, ending at her jaw. She has a long, jagged scar down the center of her back.

She has an odd birthmark in the shape of a dragon's wings on her left arm. She usually wears a red wind breaker jacket, that has the logo of Avalon Corp in gold on the right shoulder, a white button up blouse or tank top, worn blue jeans and white sneakers. At school, she wears the uniform of Obelisk Blue. When she has to dress formally, she usually either wears a long white strapless dress, white round hat and sandals, or a suit. She wouldn't be caught dead in a skirt.

Background: The only daughter of James Thorn, the CEO and President of Avalon Corp. She was the only survivor of the Hazama Incident, and developed mysterious psychic powers seemingly because of it, which terrify her even more than it terrifies others, though she doesn't let anyone see it, not even Erin. After control of Avalon Corp went to the Board of Trustees, and the corrupt, womanizing ass Chairman Lucien Stark, Alicia began to secretly plot to take control of the company back from him. She is an excellent, if somewhat scary duelist, and a third year student at Duel Academy island. She has few real friends, because most are too scared of the rumors surrounding her and her powers. People often call her the "Blue Witch" behind her back, but she pretends not to care. Her psychic powers makes battle damage and the monsters she summons much more real. After she wrestles control of Avalon Corp back from Stark, she intends to use her company's resources to find the truth about what happened at Hazama.

Appearance: Auburn hair, grey eyes. Average height and build. Wears a custom version of the standard Duel Academy faculty uniform when working. When she's on her own time she wears on a dark colored sleeveless top, dark jeans tucked into her riding boots, and one of her beloved leather jackets, most often the medium tone blue or the bright red one, both of which have plenty of wear and tear from repeated use.
Starting Deck: Prediction Princesses
Background: Emma grew up in poverty, but what her mother lacked in financial means to raise her daughter she more than made up for in love, understanding, and support for her child. Still, Emma's young life was tumultuous at best, as some unknown person seemed to have a vendetta against her mother and constantly made sure that the issue of whether custody of the child should go to someone more fitting. Her mother didn't seem surprised by it, but has denied any knowledge of who might have been trying to separate their little family. Over the years her only escape from the twisted reality of her life were the stories her mother would tell her of a happier time, before Enma's father had died in a tragic duel runner accident. But, being such a daring child who longed for some connection to her father who she never knew, it was not surprising that as a teen she did not heed her mother's warnings and took up duel runner riding herself. Though her mother still worries about her safety, Emma has become an incredibly skilled rider, and is currently employed to teach about everything duel runner related at the main Duel Academy.

Gawds  *Name: Mark Goldstein *Gender: Male *Age: 19 *Appearance: Average height, dirty blonde hair, tries to keep it straight but in the end gives up and ends up just getting cut short, likes to wear plain shirt with jeans and sneakers *Starting Deck: Odd Eye and Dark Magician *Background: Having been raised by a single mom, Mark didn't know anything about his dad. Usually, when Mark would ask her mom just said some guy and would ignore any follow up questions. Mark thought something was up but knew he couldn't get an answer from her. Well whenever Mark had a chance to talk to her since his mom was always on the road being a popular actress and constantly getting called for different parts. When she left for long periods of time, Mark would stay with his Aunt and his cousin but more like sister Sarah. Mark didn't have a rough life by any means he received plenty of attention, cloths, food, anything really as to not be considered poor. Yet, he wishes his mom wasn't so distant. Also with the constant upheavel that means he was always moving from place to place getting used to a new area, new people, and new friends. Sure Mark had Sarah to always lean on but well its complicated. Also it didn't help one day when he was getting ready for school he noticed what looked like a dragon's wing on his left shoulder. Mark tryed asking his Aunt and Sarah but they just dismissed it as a birthmark nothing to special. Yet despite everything Mark has been through anything anyone could ever say is how incredibly happy and friendly he is. Having been introduced to duel Monsters by Sarah one day it gave Mark a way to interact with others. Through dueling Mark gained confidence and a whole bunch of friends. A lot of people thought Mark was a complete joke because well he had a very threatical approach when it came to dueling. He would act out every attack, right along with the hologram, and every draw was a show in and of itself. Yet after awhile people came to like that about Mark because they noticed no matter how much things looked bleak Mark always had this silent confidence that he would win. Usually, along his two most trusted cards Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl  . Another thing people came to like about Mark was that he had a way to have a positive attitude in everything no matter how horrible something seemed. Some would tease him for being naive but he would just shrug his shoulders and move on. Another thing people really liked about Mark was that he had a way to find the good in everybody. Now a junior at the duelist academy island (the same place his cousin Sarah goes she's an obilisete blue . While he is only a Ra Yellow) he still has that happy go lucky attitude about himself. Yet one thing still ways on him. Who is he really? Why can't he shake the feeling he's about to have an important role in the future? Sarah and Mark have been very close ever since Mark was born. Well seeing how her aunt is constantly is on the road due to going from one shoot to another Mark was left in the care of Sarah's mom. Sarah is always there for Mark and sees him as her younger brother than as her cousin. Sarah ana Mark get along really well but like any siblings they can bicker every now and then. Usually, this happens when Sarah tries to tell Mark to do something and Mark is very blasie fare about it. Sarah does have a tendency too get a little bossy with Mark but she does it out of love and concern even though Mark prefers it if she showed a little less "love" at times. Sarah attends a prestigious Dual Academy and is one of the top of her class. Well during the day and during the week day she attends class. Sarah is also an ametur performer and even though it's nothing major (minor side gigs singing and Acting here and there) she does hope to be a famous actress, and/ or performer one day. Finally, due to the fact she is an ametur performer and her deck is a Melodious theme deck, people often affectionately call her the Diva Duelist. Sarah kinda of resented that at first because she isn't a diva (well most of the time) but she learned to love it

Name: Aaron Weiss Gender: Male Age: 18 Appearance: Aaron wears his school uniform all day, every day. He's just below average height for his age, and a bit on the scrawny side. He has brown eyes and a giant, blinding smile. His black hair is covered in cowlicks that spike up no matter what he does to it. Starting Deck: Superheavy Samurai Background: Aaron's mother died while he was very young, and his dad threw himself at his work - a small engineer position in an Ener-C plant - to cope. So, Aaron spent a lot of time taking care of himself. He loved to visit the library, and he'd often stop there after school before heading home to start a late dinner. As he got older, he started getting into comic books, eventually landing a part-time job in the local comic book store. He got into Duel Monsters because of the store's weekend tournaments, eventually making a bit of a name for himself. When Aaron got accepted into Duel Island Academy, his father was excited to send him off, thinking it would be a good experience for him. He's currently in his second year as a Slifer Red. Looks good. One thing tho. When you say "his dad had to work twice as hard to make ends meet", I'm assuming that means Aaron is a Common? There's a little thing called "prejudice" at DAI. Everyday, normal folks, usually tend not to get in.
Since Aaron has a Mecha theme, maybe his father works as an Engineer at Neo Vesta's Ener-C plant? While not prestigious enough to pay very well, it is a very important job, and combined with a good dueling record, that would be enough to get him into DAI(Barely) as a Slifer Red. Also, maybe his mother was fairly important too, like she worked on the city council or something.
