VOTE HERE: goo.gl/forms/0gEp8PqVkZNote: All voting is done anonymously. There is nothing stopping you from voting more than once, because the only way to enforce that is to get you to sign in with a Google account. I didn't want to make that necessary. So it's honour system time. However, I can see each entry that's submitted (obviously) so if there's more submissions than there are users here, I might be tempted to delete ones that look suspiciously similar to others. You CANNOT change your vote once you cast it, but if you really want to do so, tell me the time that you submitted your ballot because they are time stamped and I can manually erase them. Voting will be open for at least a week. Oh, and in the case of ties, you share the award. I'm nice like that.
I have the form ready for voting, and the final list of nominations. I do not yet have links to all of the relevant text, and the new restoration of the Story Arc category makes it even more difficult to give all these entries fair representation. So this is what we will do. I will slowly fill the list up with relevant links for the moment and fight scene entries. If you want to elaborate more on a particular work of your that was nominated (Character profiles, Story Arc synopses, or Power descriptions for example), you are free to post below with that elaboration, or link it to me, and I will set up the list with that link embedded. But if you don't do that, then I'm not going looking for it. IMO the only things that are mandatory are the fight scenes and the moments (because I asked for them at the start). Anyways once each entry has a link and we're all in agreement, I will post the link to the voting ballot. Unless you all just want to vote now, and screw fair representation. In which case, just yell at me in a post. Edit: Oh huh...so that's all the moments and fight scenes. Neat. I will wait another day for people to add input on if they want to do anything before the voting link is released or not. It's like a medium-length...mini-cannon... thing that lets you put in something small called "Magick Cylinders" through what the blacksmith called "magazines". If you pull a trigger on the weapon, one of the magazine's cylinders shoots out as a projectile. Since it's what Mr. Blacksmith called "bolt-action", Irving must then pull on the side of the rifle to eject the shell of the used cylinder (the magick apparently happens somewhere towards the middle or something) and replace it with a new one from the magazine. Irving himself has no idea how this blacksmith was creative enough to make such a thing.
Under normal circumstances, the thing has little use as a weapon; hitting something with a cylinder from afar was akin to punching them with mild force. However, there is a small slit on the top of the Ryfel's "barrel" that Irving can insert thin, rectangular "Slots" into. These Slots are made of some form of magick-conductive material and enchanted by Elijah. By shooting a cylinder with a Slot equipped into the gun, the slot enchants the cylinder loaded within the weapon to give them a property corresponding to one of the 7 circles of magick, albeit in a limited manner. However, prolonged use of certain slots causes them to overheat, with varying levels of cooldown to them (usually several hour's worth). The slots are as follows:
7th-Circle: Empowers the cylinders being fired to actually become a decent projectile (that appears white). The trigger can be held to become slightly larger and more powerful. Never overheats and as such is considered the "standard" setting. (It is far slower and less insta-kill than a modern-day bullet, so don't worry.) 6th-Circle: Causes the cylinder to break apart and burst into flames upon leaving the weapon's barrel. Range is equivalent to that of a modern-day shotgun. About 16 shots before overheating. 5th-Circle: Turns the cylinder into a burst of a black, poisonous, and hallucinogenic liquid from a darkcap mushroom. About 6 shots before overheating 4th-Circle: Converts the cylinder into some kind of gas projectile that clouds the minds of many people and often causes their magic to not work or malfunction. Two shots before it overheats. May or may not cause trippy hallucinations as a side-effect. Wears off on it's own depending on the person affected. 3rd-Circle: After a charging period of five seconds, fires a slow, rotating, blue triangle projectile. If it makes contact with something, it envelops them in a magic prism that slows down their relative time (inflicts slow, so I hope I got that right). Instantly overheats and may have a cooldown period as long as a full day. Wears off after about seven (non-distorted) minutes. 2nd-Circle: After a charging period of two seconds, fires some dark energy taking the form of a skull that arcs and moves slowly. The first living organism that comes into contact with it instantly decays into ash. Instantly overheats, but can cooldown in as little as ten minutes; possibly because of Irving's Magick Type. His personal least favorite slot as despite it's effectiveness, it leaves little evidence of it's victims; obviously not good if you're a Bounty Hunter trying to prove you killed someone. 1st-Circle: Charging period of three seconds. Creates a rectangular wall of light that stops most direct magick attacks, but fades thirty seconds afterwards. The defensive properties of the wall are one-way, meaning magick fired from behind the shield may pass through it. Three charges before overheating.

In Nova, Gods blur the line between the written RP world and the real world of us writers. Arceus is a character representing the authors of the Nova RP. He is multityped because there are multiple RP writers, and each one has a style or a "type". His "powers" come from the fact that we could write anything and it just happens. There is literally no in-universe limit to what Arceus can do, and that "power" surpasses anything that could happen in-universe. So an all out fight with him wouldn't even happen. If Arceus really wanted something gone, it would never have existed because we the writers would have have edited it out. Of course, a story can't happen that way, so there's a balance, and limits on what Arceus can and can't do.
As for the other gods, Dialga is the representation of the inflexible plotline, hard as steel. He maintains the Fabric of Time and cements events into place with his hammer (as one might hammer keys on a keyboard to solidify events on a page). Palkia is the representation of fluid setting, possibilities endless as the ocean. Elements that fill a story are intensely varied and his drug highs cause spurts of completely unbridled imagination. Giratina is the representation of conflict, a ghostly over-arching necessity. It's all about writing a story. The pokemon forms are just representations of these concepts.

StarBurst is a combination of a Snag-Machine and a Ranger’s Capture Styler. It is comprised of two general parts, the Disc and the Styler. Its primary use is to dominate the minds of any pokemon, forcing them to obey any command the user gives. Its secondary use is to destroy pokeballs, instantly enslaving the former occupants of such items. It can also function as a medium strength energy weapon against other humans. Pokemon that have been dominated show no interest in humans from that point on, even if they had previously been sociable or close to one.
The Disc is an energy projectile adapted from the disc of ranger stylers. When this projectile strikes a pokemon, that pokemon has its mind dominated. Some pokemon may be able to resist a single strike, in which case repeated strikes or encirclement (like a ranger) can wear the pokemon’s mind down until they are eventually enslaved. Wild pokemon only take one, while well trained pokemon have been known to take up to five. Legendary pokemon such as Xerneas and Yveltal have shown very high resilience to domination, as have pokemon that have bonded with a human their entire life. Multiple successive dominations or simultaneous domination from multiple StarBurst machines will likely render the target pokemon unconscious.
The Disc can also destroy pokeballs of any kind, save for GS balls. Since an individual pokeball is a small target, the easiest method to deal with one is to encircle it. Once a pokeball is destroyed, the pokemon inside is instantly dominated. By encircling a trainer, you can easily destroy all of their pokeballs and simultaneously dominate all of their pokemon in one fell swoop.
While it started as an actual disc, over the years there have been various modifications to the Disc shape, most frequently as bullets, but occasionally seen as throwing weapons or lightsabers.
The Styler is the main body of the StarBurst. Its primary use is to generate and subsequently control the disc. Its shape is very customizable, although it is often worn on the hand/wrist, shaped like a gun, and linked to the user’s mind so they may control the Disc with ease. The Styler is very durable, but can be rendered non-functioning given hard enough blows. This will simply render your Disc inoperable. Any pokemon you have previously dominated will remain under your command until dismissed.
Since the conception of StarBurst, additional details have been written. Firstly, it was invented by Dr. Phineas Celeste who's intent was to use it to awaken Jirachi from its hibernation. Jirachi wakes for only a week every 1000 years, and is otherwise sealed inside of a space-metal shooting star cocoon. StarBurst was made to burst open this cocoon, based on a resonance principle. It causes the energies of the cocoon metal (now called Orichalcum) to vibrate so violently that it breaks itself apart. It succeeded, and Jirachi was awakened. However, it was found that this resonance principle can also be applied to the energies inside of a pokemon's heart. StarBurst actually resonates a pokemon's heart to the point of shattering, destroying its free will as a result.
The principle of StarBurst was based on Pokemon Ranger technology, which in turn was based on the voice of the Pokemon Meloetta. Meloetta has a voice which literally stirs the hearts of pokemon, and is the voice of purity which could awaken Jirachi from its sleep prematurely (this is mentioned in Jirachi's pokedex entry). Rangers artificially replicated this to create temporary emphatic links with wild pokemon for their duties.
GS Balls, formed from the combined feathers of Ho-oh and Lugia are the only pokeballs that can withstand StarBurst since Ho-oh and Lugia earthly powers naturally counteract the celestial nature of StarBurst. The GS Ball actively creates counter0resonance in the presence of StarBurst, which prevents it from shattering, and also protects the pokemon inside. Unfortunately, due to Ho-oh being dead and Lugia being under the control of a Team Nova Admin, GS Balls are very hard to come by.

Fight: The Epic Struggle Against Belial CYOA: UB
(Part 1: True Form intro) .............. You feel the pressure long before the others do. An aura of such evil, of such sorrow, such regret, that it could blot out the Sun. The overwhelming pressure condenses, and your friends notice too. Lazzy's eyes widen slightly. Terra involuntarily steps back. It was just a gut reaction, a reaction born of instinct, but the mere fact alone that a being of Terra's caliber would have such a reaction... It says far more about your current situation than any words. Kara's eyes narrow, but as you look at her, a friend you never thought you'd find, you don't see any anger. Only sadness... A deep, yearning loneliness that twists your stomach into knots. The pressure intensifies briefly, and you bite your lip, as Belial's familiar form shimmers into existence once more. His eyes slowly open, and at that horrible moment, if you could run, you would. You would take Lazzy and Kara and you would flee for your life. For in his eyes, you see nothing. Or rather, you see the absence of everything. No soul. No heart. No life. No mercy. Just a formless void, as dark and empty as the time before Creation itself.
"I once thought, long ago. I thought and dreamt, I learned and slept, I appreciated and hungered. I lived a life like any other. But then, I found something, something I was not supposed to, and then that mirror shattered. The glass broke, the image within twisted and contorted, and the million shards of my former life scattered to the winds. I spent years searching, searching for those shards. I even fell in love, and had two children during that time. Two beautiful, wonderful children... One shard eventually found its way to the planet Asgard. Another landed on a different world, a darker, wilder world. But while the two shards shared a dream, a body, they were but mindless stones, puppets, granted life by the merciless hand of time. Eventually, the puppets found each other. They swapped places, changed worlds. They tried everything to return to their former self. Experiment after experiment, life after life, so carelessly tossed away... But now, finally, I realize my mistake. Our mistake. We thought to escape the Curse... We thought to destroy the Balance... If we could just do that, then it would all end. This eternal cycle of death and rebirth, of war and destruction, of strife and chaos... It would all come crashing to an end. But we were fools. We were merely actors, dancing on the stage of Heroes and Gods. It was always futile. We could never escape the Curse, the Curse of Knowledge. The Curse of Man."
You step out of Lazzy's embrace, your hand slowly falling to the hilt of your sword. What changed? This isn't the same being you fought only minutes before... Something is different. Something is wrong. At first, you thought Belial, or Strauss rather, was a clone of Jeckel. But... What if that isn't true? What if something else is at play here? Something far older, something far more powerful, than even a Primal...
No matter. That doesn't change your objective. You look over at Kara, seeing the tears stream down her face, and you clench your fist. Your blade slowly leaves its sheath. "I could give three s**** about your reasons," you breathe, your voice deadly calm. "You made my friend cry. I'll kill you."
Belial dramatically lifts his hands to the heavens, and a blinding light begins to envelop him, gradually intensifying. "All I wanted... All we wanted... Was to return home, to Earth, to the world beyond the stars. But it's too late now. Everything has ended. Our home no longer exists. All that's left now... Is to end the Curse. With this power, the power of my Heart, I will end everything. I will free us all. I will destroy the five of you, and then, I will set the two shards upon each other. I will guide the Dark World into Asgard, and the resulting collision will be enough to wake Him from His eternal slumber. Ragnarok will awaken, and all shall be cleansed."
Your eyes widen in realization. He means to destroy both worlds?!! Kara screams, calling her father's name one last time, to no effect. It won't work, you realize sadly. He's too far gone now. He doesn't even realize he's fighting his own daughters... He doesn't even recognize them anymore.
"Listen up!" You bark suddenly, stealing the attention of your comrades. "We can't hesitate here! We need to end this now, or everything is lost! We'll have nowhere to go home to! Kara, I'm sorry, but there's nothing to be done! Your father is gone! I need your help now, more than anything!"
Kara furiously wipes her eyes on her sleeve, and she nods. You see a glimmer of resolve in her eye. Good... That's my girl.
"Into formation!" You bark again, your voice seeming to echo. "Lazzy, you and I will take point! Kara, team up with Terra and distract him! Terra, use your magic to keep him off balance, and Kara, you focus on healing and support! I'll need your sis to focus on weakening him!"
Your orders are swiftly acknowledged, but... At this point, it doesn't matter if Belial knows your strategy. That terrifying, blank look of his is still there. The aura enveloping him intensifies to a supernova, and the oppressive gravity forces you to crouch. The divine light clears, revealing not a dark lord, but a Celestial Being of immense power. Belial raises his hands, forming twin spears of light.
"I am the Original Sin. I am Knowledge. I am Free Will. I am Existence. And I am Love."
You charge.
(Belial True Form Part 1: Battle)
A bright flash of light explodes behind you, and Lazzy promptly catches up to you, bounding past you. You grab ahold of his coarse fur, and swing up onto his back, settling between his shoulders. Another tremendous burst of light illuminates the soon-to-be battleground, and the cry of a phoenix sounds to your right. You don't look, as you don't need to. Your attention is solely upon your opponent. Belial's gaze remains focused on something behind you, probably Kara, until a mere second before he disappears. Lazzy comes to a skidding halt, turning, just in time to see Belial reappear inches from Kara. Your eyes widen, but suddenly Kara too vanishes, revealing her elder sister instead. Kara materializes across the battlefield, some feet behind Terra, and Belial hesitates, only for a brief second. But that is enough.
Consecutive blasts of golden energy and torrents of flame bombard Belial, and the resulting explosion is enough to force him back. You urge Lazzy forward, and he obeys, though you quickly realize there is no need. In that instant, your thoughts are as one. Your minds are one and the same. Belial abruptly finds himself caught between a phoenix and a god, and two massive streams of fire. Come on... Play into my hand... Come on...
Belial vanishes once more, leaving only an afterimage behind. Yes!! "Now!!!" You scream, and you suddenly vanish as well.
The blasts of flame roll harmlessly of Lazzy and Terra's hides, while you flit through the air, nothing more than a shadow. Belial reappears near where he started, just as you guessed he would, and you appear only inches away, separating into two, grinning. Belial's eyes widen slightly.
"Welcome to hell," you boast with a devilish smile.
You focus all of your power into one mighty blow, and slam your sacred blade into his gut. Your clone follows suit a second later, and you promptly vanish, leaving your clone to take the brunt of Belial's counterattack. You reappear back on Lazzy with a soft thud, now behind Belial. Your attack left no lasting damage, but it wasn't supposed to. Lazzy reveals his presence only a nanosecond before he leaps. His claws glow a sinister gold.
"Bear witness to the might of a Primal!"
Belial manages to wedge one of his glowing spears in between Lazzy's teeth, likely saving his life, but that doesn't prevent Lazzy's talons from gouging him, or him being knocked back from the sheer force of the impact. Time seems to slow. You unleash another blast of energy from close range, effectively blinding him for a moment, but this prevents you from noticing Belial's other spear in time. Your eyes widen in panic, as you see the spear cleave through Lazzy's diamond scales like butter. A pillar of blood heralds the strike, and the two of you are sent flying.
Unable to keep your footing, you fall from Lazzy's back, landing harshly on the ground below, bouncing like a rubber ball. You shakily rise to your feet, more scared than harmed. Lazzy lies only a few feet away, surrounded by a pool of blood, attempting to stand. Then, everything happens at once, too quickly for your panicked mind to keep up. Kara begins chanting, erratically moving her hands in a strange, mystical pattern and a soft green light envelops Lazzy. A sonic boom erupts from Belial, as he charges your downed comrade at insane speed, attempting to finish him before he can recover. A massive pillar of white flame suddenly erupts around him, stretching to the heavens, and the force sends Belial hurtling backwards. Terra appears, as if from nowhere, and her form has changed. Bathed in both the darkest and brightest light, a light you realize you've seen twice before, Terra charges Belial, and to your shock, Belial suddenly finds himself overwhelmed.
The pillar of sacred flame dies down, revealing a fully healed Lazzy, who roars in outrage. The mighty roar seems to shake the very foundations of the world. He charges once more, not toward Belial, but towards you, and you will your mind to go blank. Ignore everything else. Think of nothing else, but the battle at hand. No emotion. No mercy.
Your mind clears, and you leap onto Lazzy's back. He smiles warmly at you, a smile that melts your heart. You briefly bury your face in his fiery mane, nuzzling him affectionately. "Let's finish this Lazzy," you whisper quietly. He doesn't respond, as there is no need to.
Looking back, years later, you probably should have recognised Terra right then and there. If you had, who knows how everything might have turned out... But maybe, just maybe, everything could have been different
-----
Neo: The other parts of the fight are really long. There were two battles before this, and the final part of the battle against his true form after this, but I don't want to flood this. I chose these two parts to give a brief story background for the fight(Cause it was a major one, I.E the biggest boss fight of UB thus far) and to give a glimpse of the overall battle.

(nomination skits) And the nominations belonging to Emppy are... Joshua - Best Original Character With Rotom having disabled the facility's surveillance systems, Joshua could freely use Zoroark's illusions to appear to wear a Nova uniform without worrying about the guys watching the feeds finding a man suspiciously wearing a tuxedo wandering throughout the facility. Of course, the fact that there was no feed at all would tip them off that something is going on, but the illusion plus Ditto being worn as a mask over his face in the form of a blonde man's face made certain that passer-by would be unlikely to look at him twice.
Eventually, he found the room he was looking for: the central computer room. A large amount of information regarding Nova transportation plans and their cargo -- Pokemon, weaponry, prisoners, and more -- were sent, received, and archived there. Joshua peered into the large room before entering, an invisible Zoroark and Rotom next to him.
Lots of armed soldiers, some guard Mightyenas, and a bunch of other workers that may pack sidearms.
"If I didn't know any better, I'd say we bit off more than we could chew," said Zoroark.
It might be difficult, but nothing we can't handle as long as we're careful. Joshua paused briefly after entering the room to take a flash drive out of his pocket. Okay, first things first. Rotom, you--
"CONGRATULATIONS, JOHN DOE AKA JOSHUA VEGA!!"
Joshua nearly jumped out of his skin as a formally dressed redhead suddenly materialized out of the ether next to him with a microphone in hand.
"You've been nominated for the chance to win the 'Best Original Character' award in our first ever CYOA-Verse awards ceremony! Don't worry about what that means, but what words would to want to give to your adoring fans? Why should they want to vote... for..."
Before she would hand the microphone to Joshua, she finally took the time to look at her surroundings. All the other nearby persons were staring directly at the two of them in confusion, with no idea of how to react. Joshua growled, suppressing the urge to yell profanities at the woman who blew his cover.
"...Get out... NOW!"
The woman hastily ran away as Joshua brought up a Protect barrier to shield himself from everyone in the room suddenly finding their senses, drawing their weapons and attacking the intruder. Needless to say, all hell broke loose. Irving - Best Original Character "Welcome, strangah!"
Irving did not like doing business with someone as shady as the merchant in front of him in the slum's back alley, but money is money, right?
"Hey, uhhh... You willin' to buy some stuff?" Irving asked.
"What're ya sellin'?"
"I uhh... have this sword carved by a Kromar," said Irving, showing said weapon. It was rather crudely made and the blunt sides were greatly scratched, but the sharpness of the blade was nothing to disregard.
"Strangah, strangah!" said the merchant, taking the sword and inspecting it. "Now that's a weapon!"
The merchant nodded and quickly handed Irving a handful gold without even counting it. Seeing as it was more than he was expecting, Irving shrugged and accepted it.
"Okay, and I also got a buncha--"
"CONGRATULATIONS IRVING JAILUS!"
Irving jumped as someone began yelling out of nowhere behind him. He turned, his hand on his machete just in case. He saw that it was a weirdly dressed redheaded woman speaking into some unknown object in her hand as she addressed him.
"You've been nominated for the chance to win the 'Best Original Character' award in our first ever CYOA-Verse awards ceremony!"
"...The hell's a naw-me-nay-shun, and what did I do for an award?" Irving asked.
"Don't worry about it!" she exclaimed. "So, any words for your adoring fans as to why you should get the award? It's made of solid gold, you know!"
"Aaaaaaah", said the merchant. "I'll buy it at a hiiiigh price!"
Irving's eyes lit up and he spoke into the object the woman signaled him to take. "Thanks for the naw-me-nay-shun, guys! Keep bein' awesome, and I'll be sure to keep bein' awesome myself!"
I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doin' here.
"Thank you!" said the redhead. "If you win, we'll see you soon!"
"No problem," said Irving as the woman somehow vanished without a trace in the time it took him to blink.
"...Especially if it can get me a small fortune," he muttered. "I wouldn't have to worry about food for days." Glinda - Best Original Character "...I understand," said Queen Glinda in response to the report the soldier kneeling in front of her was giving. "I will be sure to send aid as soon as I am able. Thank you for informing me."
"One more thing, your highness," said the soldier. "Leonard wishes to inform you that the palace defenses have been upgraded; specifically, its protection against unauthorized teleportation. He was happy to note that the new barrier has had a 100% success rate during tests and has already been installed to rebound potential intruders to another location entirely. He boasts that nothing can get past it, and especially not on his watch."
"That is wonderful news!" said Glinda with a smile. "Be sure to give Leonard my sincerest--"
"CONGRATU-- urk!"
Glinda jumped as a finely dressed, redheaded woman suddenly materialized into the throne room only to be greeted by four of Glinda's royal guards pointing swords and rifles at her face upon entry.
"...Aren't you one of the merchants?" Glinda asked the woman. "Anna, was it?"
The redheaded woman slowly nodded. Glinda signaled for her soldiers to lower their weapons.
"Whew," said Anna. "Thanks."
"Care to explain why you materialized in my throne room without prior warning?" asked Glinda.
"Right!" said Anna. "You've been nominated for the chance to win the 'Best Original Character' award in our first ever CYOA-Verse awards ceremony!"
"...I am afraid I do not follow," said Glinda.
"Nothing that needs to bother you, I assure you!" said Anna. She held out a microphone to Glinda. "Anyway, please say a word as to why you feel you should receive this award!"
Glinda tried to push the microphone away. "I do not feel I deserve, nor require such an award. The support and love of my people is all I require to--"
"And there you have it!" Anna said to no one in particular. "I'll return with the award if you win! Buh-bye!"
And with that, Anna vanished just as quickly as she appeared. Glinda turned to look at the guard, who stood up alert when Anna appeared.
"...I shall inform Leonard of this breech," the soldier replied.
"Thank you," she said. "You are dismissed." Yancy - Best Adapted Character Yancy gave a weary sigh as she sat down in the medical wing for a short break.
We're having a lot more injured people than usual. Is it because there was a Nova attack on a base I didn't hear about?
Yancy's gaze dropped to the floor.
And we're still so understaffed... I'm worried. What if--
"CONGRATULATIONS, YANCY AMORA!"
Yancy snapped out of her thoughts to see a redhead in formal wear and a microphone had appeared to her side. Upon seeing her, Yancy instinctively delivered a harsh slap to her face, the redhead falling to the ground as a result.
"Oh!" exclaimed Yancy, going to the redhead's side to help. "Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry! I don't know what came over me! Are you okay?!"
The redhead rubbed her cheek with one hand as she took Yancy's hand with her other. "Ow... It's okay, don't worry so much. I'll just call us even for now."
Yancy had no idea what she was talking about as she stood up and picked up the microphone she dropped. Her cheek still red, she cleared her throat and went back to having a peppy demeanor, pretending nothing happened. "Anyway, you've been nominated for the chance to win the 'Best Adapted Character' award in our first ever CYOA-Verse awards ceremony!"
"Huh? An award?" said Yancy. "B-But I haven't... I mean... Why?"
"Plenty of reasons!" said the redhead. She then shoved a microphone at Yancy's face. "Any word for the adoring fans as to why you should receive such an award?"
"U-Uhh..." stuttered Yancy.
"...What's the matter?" asked Anna. "You must've gotten a few awards as an idol, right?"
"Th-That's different! I mean..." Yancy began backing away. "S-Sorry! I have to go!"
Yancy turned the opposite direction and sped down the hallway.
"Well, that's all she wrote!" Anna said to no one in particular. As she vanished, she raised a hand to her cheek again and sharp-eared viewers could hear a faint "ow."
