It wasn't a single person. It was a consensus on r/yugioh that talked about the best and worst parts of each anime.
The general consensus was that the best part of any anime was the Dark Signers arc, but that ARC-V was better than post Dark Signers-5Ds.

Maybe Just the Last Duel ruined it for me,but meh. Honestly, argue all you want, GX will still be my favorite. Even if it considered the worst. (Is it?) |

The final arc of 5DS is better than anything Arc 5 can offer. And you don't have to "wait for it to get good". As soon as the Aporia fight ends, the final arc kicks off immediately. |

I tell you what. Let's encourage Golurk to watch ZEXAL and ARC-V, heck, even the original and GX, so he can be reminded that 5Ds was stylistically and thematically very different than all the other YGO anime series. We'll see if he misses it then. |

I actually kinda wanna watch ArcV. Because of the war thing, Constellars Fluffals, and the protagonsit look beter than Zexal's. Gosh, I hate Zexal.

I watched the original and stopped after the Doma arc.
ZEXAL is terrible though, and GX doesn't get good until the last arc.

The newer stuff are children's cartoons, for children. That's not an opinion, it's a fact. 5DS was the only attempt at an actual anime YGO has ever had. Because of that, I will naturally like 5DS more, and 5DS will naturally be better in some respects. But beyond that, the characters of Arc 5 and Zexal are all seriously stupid, and one of the main reasons for that is because the show is tailored for children. The plot of Arc 5, if you can call it that, is a convoluted mess of alternate-dimensions-for-kids and lookalike characters. And any attempt at actually explaining the dimensional travel is hand waved away. Why? Because it's a kids show made by a company notorious for thinking all kids are dumb. There is no clear, concise image of the plot. There is no image of the plot at all. The characters are badly written, and there are so many cliches and holes in everything that my eyes hurt from watching a single episode. Because I'm cringing and rolling my eyes so much. This has nothing to do with personal bias. It is my opinion as an author, and as someone who has been writing for a long time. |

Also, like I said, if you've finished the Grand Prix Golurk, you don't have to wait at all. The final arc with ZONE and the Temple of Time begins literally the next episode, and lasts until the end of the anime, where there is a good, solid conclusion to the series.
