Yes, Golurk, that is literally what my post at the top of the page explained about smart people learning slower, but with more concrete reasons as to why. Do not use your incompetence as a reason to say someone's points don't stack up because you cannot fully comprehend them, or ignore the tool(your mind) that is before you to use deeper.
Like I said, I give up. This is pointless debate and basically "My points stack up because of X reasoning".
I'm going to read, or better yet, world build some religions for things. This post is meant with no offense in mind except for exasperation.

And obviously people with wings who can turn into giant feathery predators would learn how to use large cumbersome instruments of melee combat so they could fight fair with other species over how to fly or strategize combat in three directions.

You're calling me incompetent because you believe that I don't understand your reasoning because I decry it?
Then you walk backwards and say "no offense"?
Really?
Is that what we're doing?
Your reasoning was off, and I'm not saying that because I'm "incompetent". You said that it's because of culture, but you're clearly ignoring the biological differences between humans and Laguz. Just because they look like humans doesn't mean they are human. Turtles and tortoises look similar, but they aren't the same. What about crocodiles and alligators? Pretty much any primate?
EDIT: Also, do you not know how debates work? It's all about providing an argument that is supported by logical, keyword: "logical", reasoning.

Well, seeing as how they can't constantly transform and stay transformed, then yeah, if they were going to fight, they logically would. The same applies to fighting within concrete corridors, or fighting in duels that are incredibly common for the laguz forms not fit for 1v1 combat, like Herons or Cats.

Wait...there are limits in transformation? So...not like Awakening then.
What are they? I need to know what rules I'll be mercilessly breaking.
Oh btw, I've been agreeing with Golurk.

Laguz need to build up a gauge in order to transform.
Otherwise, why transform into a humanoid form other than to take up less space/have opposable thumbs?
Awakening doesn't have limits because the Taguel and the Manaketes use a Dragonstone/Beaststone. Though I think there's something like that for Laguz, but those are really rare or something.

Laguz need to build up a gauge in order to transform. Otherwise, why transform into a humanoid form other than to take up less space/have opposable thumbs? This is literally the entire basis for my hawk general. His signature tactic is size change and has spent centuries weaponizing the fact that he grows 30 times in size upon transformation. What does that gauge amount to in-universe? Focus? Stress? So laguz can't use their animal forms for transportation? What's the time limit? Can any laguz transform at will?

Mechanics for Laguz in the games:
"The exact ways Laguz function in battle depends on the game you're playing. Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn both have Laguz and implement them in different ways.
Some mechanics are shared by the two games, though. In battle, Laguz always have a Transformation Gauge, which (when it fills up) allows a laguz to morph into its animal form. When a Laguz is transformed, it slowly drains its transformation gauge until it reaches 0, at which point the Laguz reverts to its humanoid form.
Typically, when a Laguz is untransformed, it is somewhat vulnerable, and can never initiate attacks. But once the beast/bird/dragon transforms, they gain large attribute bonuses that make them formidable opponents."
I believe it's based on stress. Time limits could probably be anywhere from a minute to half an hour. We can alter things a bit.

Most, if not all, adult Royal Laguz can transform at will.

So the hawk general will be completely fine with his size-murdering tactic.
So, Neo, you feeling better? I wasn't intending to upset you with my statement earlier. We're both grumpy.
The only person I have a problem with is Fen, which you can see why at the top of this page, second sentence.

The only "canon" reasons I can remember for them not using weapons are that they aren't considered necessary and that they don't like the smell.

That's a pretty terrible reason to be honest.

Only the beast Laguz really bring the smell part up, which is a little understandable.
Also, what about Lehran? He uses magic in RD...

He can't transform though, so it was done purely out of necessity. Plus, isn't he like a thousand years old as well?

He's a special case for several reasons, any of which could be why he can use magic.

True on both counts, but it means it's very much possible to do.
...Do you really think any of us even have much to worry about, with regards to explaining things more poorly than RD itself did? I doubt we'll get lower than "warp powder glitch." : P

Have Neo PM Crow to work out the details of what could happen? Offensive singing magic?

I'm talking about cleaning up. A lot of this was just being grumpy with each other, but some things need certain attention, like Fennie's last post.
