Hey CDM, what are your thoughts on character's using unique weapons that don't really fit into the FE weapon types (like a poleaxe or cudgel)?

Poleaxes are a canon thing. A cudgel... Eh, whatever.

Well, I was thinking of getting more complex than that. There's stuff like whips, chakrams, shields, etc.

Shields and whips yes, chakram... Maybe.

Also worth noting classes like paladin and hero have arm shields.
Chakrams seem nice. Mm at whips.

What about Cross Halberds?

Eh... CDM kinda has a point. HD, do you still want Roc to be a General? If so, I can probably find a way to make things work. If not, I'll just make a Tibarn expy.
The Wolf and Beorc are about halfway done.

The four great generals.
Elaine Drakkin, an ancient white dragon. Rumors say she's as old as Solgen itself. Many call her Grandmother. She expects the troops under her command to act as a unit, regardless of race. Her command style emphasizes patience, always waiting calmly for an opening.
Farah Dune, a wolf and immigrant from Nasa. She came to Solgen seeking a challenge, and soon worked her way up the ranks. She prefers hunting tactics, hitting the enemy when they aren't expecting it, isolating small enemy units, etc. She doesn't understand the distinction between laguz and beorc, and frankly doesn't care.
Damien Smith, the beorc representative. Born into a small smithing family, he joined the militia at a young age, quickly distinguishing himself as a warrior, though perhaps not so much as a commander. He practices the most conventional military tactics.

Oh, I thought you wanted me to make the generals...
Eh. I'm not super-attached to them.
As for Mr. Bunny-bird, the hawk general could have been killed in combat. Roc's the king's appointment to take his place.

What? Sure. You aren't planning to just list every weapon you can think of, are you?

Wait, wait... I'm confused. Who's in charge of the Generals? I thought I was making them.

Roc's the king's appointment to take his place. Somehow missed this. The Generals are mine. Mine, I tell you! But I'm keeping the name Farah Dune. Cause I really like it, and haven't been able to think of a name for my Wolfie yet.

Someone asked for an outline of the opening scene...
Elaine will be telling the statue of Solgen what all's been happening in the last few months, yay exposition. After that, cut to Tilo and Bastian, planning their next moves. Hence, I really got to get that map done as soon as I get home.

Good news, the map's about half-done. Bad news, the half I've done was the easy part, and now I need to figure out how to do the other half.

Do laguz ever wear armor (in either human or animal forms), and what happens to the armour and clothing when they transform? Also what happens if they are seriously wounded in one form or another and then change (assuming no healing magic is used)? For example, if a laguz loses a leg in one form, does it affect the other? Alternately, if a hawk wing is broken, how does it heal? Do you have to set it in hawk form and let it heal there, or can it heal while they're human? Or does it heal automatically when they change? What happens if you try to change into animal form while bound or in a confined space?
If there's no precedent for any of this then I'll be establishing it...just fyi.
