I played Awakening...the fact that I never looked at stats should speak enough to my immersion. Sacred stones was gba right? Playing it on my phone should be easy enough. Let me guess, you found an emulator? I'm jealous. I don't think IOS has one, or else I would have done the same and have played both Fire Emblem 7 and Sacred Stones.

Anyways, here's a stat breakdown:
HP: Self-Explanatory Strength: Determines weapon damage Magic: Determines magic damage Skill: Determines hit rate, critical rate, and activation rate of most skills Speed: Determines who moves first in battle, evasion rate, and can allow for multiple strikes Luck: Determines hit rate, critical rate, evasion rate, critical evasion rate, and activation rate of some skills Defense: Determines damage reduction against weapons Resistance: Determines damage reduction against magic

My issue is more scale than definition. Anyways, unless we're incorporating the math it's not too important right?
And I have an android emulator, yes

I'd like to point out I'm not inclined to do the stat thing since it's just for fun. Adding gameplay always manages to screw me over, plus some of these stats like HP is irrelevant unless converted to endurance. Luck even more so.

Is there anything wrong with naming my character "Rocangus MacPhearsome" and running a Scottish motif through Hawk nobility? What's been established about Hawk nobility anyways? The Hawk country is called Gauren, right?

Name: Rocangus MacPhearsome Class: Hawk Starting faction (rebels/militia): Militia Gender: Male Age: 196 Appearance: Small relative to others his age. Bright orange hair and dark brown wings with grey speckles and black tips. Wears bandages wrapped around his hands, wrists, and forearms. Wears another series of bandages around his forehead, covering his eyes save for thin slits for him to see out of. Usually wears a tan coat with a green shirt, beige pants, brown leather shoes. Personality: Rocangus was born with a mental disorder similar to Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder. He is fixated mainly on amounts and measurements. If it occurs to him that there is an "amount" of something, he will be forced to know much of of it there is, no matter what it is, or else start to experience crippling anxiety. At his worst, he can't handle a messy table because he must count every object on it. Looking at a wall, he'll have to count every brick, and if he loses count, he'll start all over again. A bag of gold is a nightmare. Or worse? A bag of sand. He has 1572 feathers on his right wing and 1578 on his left wing. That being said, he's gotten really good at counting. In terms of measurements, once he discovered the beorc have things called "units" it was drilled into his head that you can count anything: the distance between any two points, the size and weight of any object, etc. The initial realization of this sent him into a frenzy, during which he was compulsed to simply burn everything down so there was nothing. He can transform into his hawk form, but its enhanced senses drive him insane. When you can see every blade of grass in a field...well, you get the picture. However, he has a remedy. When he inhales the smoke of certain herbal blend, his anxiety and compulsions dissipate. As a result, he keeps a large amount of herb cigarettes on his person and smokes them frequently. He has a habit of isolating himself since the smoke is not pleasant to most other people, and especially not other bird laguz. This blend does not work on his hawk form (and how would a hawk smoke anyways?), so he is still not able to transform easily. He desperately wants a remedy that will work in hawk form though. He also knows how to trick himself. For example, he can approximate how much a bag of sand weighs, and from that extrapolate the number of grains inside of it. This, while not accurate, satisfies him, and was a necessary skill to learn in order to function in every day life. Personally, he is very aloof, and interacts with others in general quite normally. He isn't quite charismatic, and he smells funny, so he wouldn't be the most popular. You wouldn't think there was anything wrong with him, other than the fact that he keeps a burning weed in his mouth. His disinterest in things is deliberate, since for him, it's a slippery slope between care and obsession. Background: The noble clan MacPhearsome of Gauren takes pride in their strength, wealth, and influence, but Rocangus fell outside that curve. He is the eldest child in the next generation of a powerful first-born MacPhearsome family that stretches back generations, but his "defection" happened to terminate this trend. He was often locked away for being ill, and his symptoms only got worse with age although he was forced to learn to respectfully cope with it. After incident where one of his anxiety attacks caused the accidental incineration of a merchant caravan, he was exiled (on mutually beneficial terms) to Solgen. He wished to separate himself from his family as to not harm their reputation any further. But more personally, he found that the smoke from that fire alleviated his symptoms, allowing him to even fly for the first time, and he hoped to find a beorc who could replicate this. Since his arrival in Solgen 50 years ago, he managed to find company with some merchants. He was used to their ways due to his family's trade, and under his direction they managed to recreate the herbal blend from the caravan fire. In addition, he's found a way to utilize his obsessions in order to concoct vulneraries and other goods with vastly improved potency. His new "talent" has got him noticed by the nobles and militia of Solgen however, who want him to put his skills to work on something that does quite the opposite of healing. Personal goal: To become strong enough to rejoin his family. Theme: L's Theme - Hideki Taniuchi (Death Note OST)

Approved. As for where you'll start out, if you don't have anything planned, the king might want to have a word with you.
...Where's Neo... I'm getting worried...

I was going to start with a lot of establishment, but plotwise I had nothing fixed. Sure we could start with him talking to the king.
Depending on how languages work in this work, I would say that he speaks with an accent that marks him as non-native. But that's probably not going to be too relevant since I'm not going to write out scottish phonetic differences.

HD, do you want your character to be involved in plot stuff? Bastian needs a Hawk General.

I wouldn't mind being involved in plot stuff, but I don't think Rocangus is general material at all. Tactician maybe, but he can't fight. At least, not traditionally.

((ah dear lord it seems so crowded I didn't even know this wss a thing argleblargle!)
Name: Caro Tekinen
Class: MYRMIDON! Starting faction (rebels/militia): Rebels Gender: Male Age: 23 Appearance: Blue haired yellow eyed guy. You know the picture.
Personality: Always on the lookout for danger, Caro wants to secure his freedom for all eternity, believing that the best way to accomplish such a notion is to find a country... or overthrow a current one His hatred of the Laguz occassionally gets the better of him. Least likely to eat vegetables.
Background: Born to a loving mother with no father in sight, Caro was thrown into the world, homeless after a tragic fire at the age of 8. His mom did everything she could to ensure he at least had food, even as she herself was going hungry. Nontheless, he was actually taken in by a kind old cat laguz, who was upset at how his young life was so far, when his own was so cushy. For years the cat trained him in the way of speed, Caro getting better every day. Unfortunatly, when he was 13 he saw just what his mother did to endure they did not starve. Seeing his mother bed with older, perverted Laguz broke him, his innocence shattering, rascism taking it's place. He never brought it up to his mother, and she died thinking he never knew. In his grief, he killed laguz as much ad possible before running away, joining the rebellion. Knowing firsthand the fate of poor beorc, Caro has vowed to erradicate any laguz that dare not help, eyeing to make a new nation for himself.
Personal goal: Topple the laguz royalty, become royalty himself, make better living conditions for beorc. Theme: The Eternal Struggle for Freedom. (Link... uh, way later. Youtube linking on a phone will take a while.)
Secret: Unbeknownst to him due to a strange lack of brand, he is actually a branded, his father being a cat. Of course, he also does not hang around laguz, so he would not know they can generally smell it.
Fighting style: Caro is fast, but that's the best thing going for him. He can't take a hit, physical or magical, and his own hits only bite a little. Typical Myrmidon fare.

Hey! It's Caro! I remember that guy! So... Is Caro gonna be the reverse Zihark(Branded Myr who hates Laguz instead of loving them) who challenges the Black Knight and gets his bum whupped? Hmm... HD, what about being a more of a Tactician!General than a Warrior!General? In my mind, Bastian is a hardcore reformer and visionary, and he's always looking for new ways to move his people forward, into the future. So Bastian would definitely see more than a bit of potential in your little Scotsman- Scotshawk?- because he has a talent very few other Laguz can even understand. After all, Beorc are only "superior" to Laguz because of their ability to think on a different level, which gives them a distinct technological and strategical advantage. But if you take that advantage away from them... If Laguz as a whole could bridge that gap, and learn to think the same way... Then the poor little Beorc wouldn't stand a snowflake's chance in Helheim. Knowing this, Bastian would want to use Roc's talents, even if making him a General pissed off the other Laguz. Still, it's up to you. But I need to know soon, because I need the Hawk General to be ready before the RP can start.

Er... wait. Since when is Bastian a reformer? Who wouldn't believe in the traditional system of might makes right? Seeing as he... kinda subjugated enough smaller territories to earn the right to face the king... And then became king by defeating the old one in a duel?

Worth noting, Caro's still a character in GT. *megaflared* But nah, no branding or anything. Prolly just one of those traditional oppressed stories, given Spitz form. As to getting his butt whupped... depends on the difficulty of this RP. Right, now... to add detail!

Seeing as he... kinda subjugated enough smaller territories to earn the right to face the king... And then became king by defeating the old one in a duel? I said "in my mind" for a reason, Crow. Obviously, Bastian is still a firm believer in a lot of Laguz traditions and customs. But that doesn't mean he can't be a reformer, or that he has to believe might solves everything. Also.... *Is my character now* *I do what I want*
