I'll take it as an excuse this time, but...
I don't want you to take his lack of presence as a get out of jail free card or anything. In fact, I believe that because he has such a lack innately, maybe you should be the one to reach out to others.
It is INCREDIBLY hard to satisfactorilly RP a loner/unnoticed-type, let alone RP'ing WITH them. You limit yourself to pretty much watching and thinking. Now, for a normal loner, it wouldn't be that bad because eventually someone would notice and take to them. But, with someone specifically stated to have a lack of presence, unless you notice them and pull them in, it's unlikely to happen. And even then it's a relationship that depends on you, rather than a symbiotic one as it should be.
Er, wow that's a lot more to say than I thought I'd say about it.
But, this does remind me to place some rules/tips in the character sheet topic... I do hope it won't drive anyone away... *zoom*

I think it'll make a nice bond between the characters, personally.

If people start arguing, James or Oliver can mediate. That would be a good way to get all the characters introduced to eachother faster.

Does water magic include the whole "healing" thing that's often tacked onto water spells for some reason?

The answer to the water question is yes, but only after a few more seals are broken; to give the water strength enough to be the whole Water of Life thing.
Lightning: Usually a pure destructive force, later on Marianne can use it to make things faser. When in conjunnction with Gravity, well, who knows?
As to RIDING THE THUNDAH!, Yes, but only after the last seal breaks for any distant travel. Short hops are fine after the second saga's seal breaks.
As we go on and more seals break, The Elementalists magic will get stronger and stronger. Eventually it's whatever you can think of. Of course, if you need ideas for a reasonable progression you can certainly ask. That includes others too; ypu never know, they could have great ideas!
